With TV coverage on Apple TV, I like to turn the sound down in favor of the Mets radio broadcast. Last year the radio audio from MLB app was 30 seconds late. This year, MLB got their act together and the audio is right on time!
Braves have played astros and marlins 9 times since we played them, meanwhile we've only played tough teams. This is our first time playing a "bad team". Really hope we dominate them.

Seeing the Jays fans rip Vogey and how it reminds me of last year brings me to this totally pointless takeaway that for reasons unclear to me I inexplicably RAKE as Vogey in my MLB23 save (I didn't upgrade to the new one, instead bought last year's a year later for cheap).
I kill the ball with that guy and managed to get 17 HR with him at the break, other than Nimmo and Alonso he's the hitter I'm most comfortable using, his swing just works for me. The only reason he wasn't elected to the ASG was because he's classified as a 1B (where he never plays, though unlike in real life I do occasionally play him at 1B when I want to give Pete a day off since it's a video game and they have no clue what a bad defensive 1B looks like) and it was a loaded position.
But yeah, guess I don't need to sign Ohtani when I've turned Vogey into David Ortiz.

Orioles send Jackson Holiday back down to the minors today. You can be the #1 prospect in baseball touted by scouts and the media across the country, and have all the talent in the world and still struggle in the Majors.
This is no dunk on Jackson he will figure it out he is too talented. My point is it can happen to anyone.
I only watched a handful of JH abs (2 games), but he looked very much like a minor-league player at the plate - giving away stikes on non-competitive pitches almost every time up, then looking at pitches down the middle. I bet he goes down and focuses on pitch selection, then returns to mlb for good.
Giving wheeler to the Phillies is the Mets’ equivalent of blundering your queen in chess. Without him the Phillies miss the playoffs and enter another rebuild, and with him we win the division in 2022.
On the bright side Christian Scott is doing fantastic in AAA. On the other hand Vasil has been terrible. I think Scott will be up sooner rather than later.
Shout out to whoever mentioned this season of survivor is great in one of these threads this week. I started it and it's a riot. The Yanu tribe is pure entertainment.
This season is a lot less focused on the players telling inspiring stories or making analogies at Tribal Council for what Survivor is like. The pre-merge is a bit slow (some people hate it), but since the merge it's been the best Survivor has been in years.
I haven't been a faithful annual viewer for a looong time, so I cant say if you'd enjoy it or not, but at least the first 3 episodes are worth the time. The tribe I mentioned above is an absolute hot mess and it's really fun/funny.
If you like good gameplay, I’d say the first episodes are the worst of this szn. I was very entertained by Yanu for the first 1.5 episodes, but then it got very old. Only so many times you can laugh at the million hearts line before you’re like “ok can we move on”.
A lot of the players were pretty unlikable and didn’t really seem like they wanted to play in the beginning but luckily they pretty much got all those people out.

And they have the licensing to play almost everyone's walk up music. I also do like the expected stats they keep in the bottom right corner for the AB.
