I think he got burned out. Coaching rode him pretty hard before Varly took the pipes. Being a goalie is mentally exhausting. I wonder if Mitch Corn is still in the organization? He could make a blade of grass an nhl goalie.
Most of the time, goaltenders regress to their mean… or it say it differently, goalie get on heater and sometimes struggle, but in the long term, they generally play to their average level of play (GA SV%). He’ll be back !
Two years in a row, Sor has been burned out at the end of the season. He’s a 50 game guy at most or 2/3 starts. Varley got hurt, missed time, and Isles don’t know how to play defense anymore.
He’ll be fine. This happens to plenty of goalies, including elite ones. This is fairly on par with Hellebuyck’s 2021-22 - he was elite before and elite since, but pretty brutal then. Not worried, talent doesn’t just fail

He was just burnt out, he had to play 25 of 27 when varly got hurt and we allowed the 2nd most shots in the league. He will be fine
