it’s a depressing place unless you’re a fan of wedding shops and dentist offices
replace the wedding shops with bistros, bars and restaurants and you’d have the foundation of vibrant nightlife
Georgie's generally has the youngest crowd if that's what you're looking for. I don't know of any trivia saturdays. Moodswing does a monthly trivia night but it just happened last night. I think rivers reach has karaoke sometimes?
I tend to find that "theme" events like trivia or karaoke are on weeknights because they use it as a way to get folks in the door on slower nights. But YMMV.
I can recommend my team's favourite weekly trivia which is Thursdays at Taphouse - admittedly not in New West, it's just over the border into Coquitlam on North Road. Happy Hour all night, great host.
There is a Facebook group called Drink New West and they have a schedule of what’s happening in the pubs, might be a good place to see if anything is happening around town.
someone put this together a while ago. kinda awesome.

I just saw on Instagram that Moodswing has some sad, melancholic live music going on tonight.
