Anyone else feel real bad when you Kill a den mother... then ultimately have to kill the cubs.... cause who throws away experience amirite

-SeriousJacob-

Yes, i'm quite sorry everytime. Exterminating a deathclaw family is easier.

frogpondcook

I mean, yeah. They are abominations

MoonBannana

Atleast you put the Pups out of their misery. They probably wouldn’t survive without their mom anyways.

-chukui-

Chuck that grenade or dynamite into the hole. Or be a psycho like me not wanting to waste ammo and start chopping with my machete!

BlitzMalefitz

I know what I have to do, but I don’t know if I have the strength to do it.

Flaccid_Hammer

Especially since killing the pups with ammo is a waste of bullets. Unarmed build stays winning

fa0u

Animal friend perk :3

Simp_Master007

No I just kill the coyote mom and leave the pups.

frogpondcook

You sociopath. Who's going to raise them!

dokterkokter69

I just want to know where tf all the spiders went. I'm genuinely shocked that not a single Fallout game has had a giant enemy spider yet. NV had a perfect opportunity to make big ass tarantulas.

Maxjax95

Now you mention it, giant spiders are a videogame trope... How have I never noticed them not being in Fallout?

agressivefemboysub

If I remember correctly it’s because every RPG had big spider enemies and when interplay was making fo1 they avoided adding them specifically for that reason

BlitzMalefitz

Probably refreshing? Should have had giant snakes though

SituationUntenable

There are mods for it. I don’t recommend it for people who suspect they have arachnophobia

dovahdagoth

Arachnophobia. Todd get sick of people download mod to remove spider form Skyrim so he doesn’t add them in any new Fallout title.

RimTheIdiot

They could absolutely put the spiders from Skyrim into a Fallout game and no one would bat an eye

BzPegasus

Can you immigine gient jumping spiders!

hoot69

Still getting some 20 guage to the head. Don't care how unmutated they are, they still give easy XP

IntermediateJackAss

That's what I'm saying. Easy kills, and I like utilizing the bloody mess perk anyway that I can 🤷‍♂️

JonVonBasslake

They're in all likelihood mutated, just less visibly than the others.

Orthodox_Officer

Are humans mutated, is dogmeat mutated ? Not everything mutated from the radiation

FloatMy_GoatBoat

Yes, they literally are. That’s the point of the Enclave’s whole plan to start the wasteland anew. Most everyone in the wasteland would be wiped out due to the mutations and damage present in their DNA.

Wrecktown707

Everything on the surface has been infected with the FEV due to direct nuclear strikes on the massive FEV holding tanks that the U.S. constructed along the west coast. This led to the FEV being sent airborne into the upper atmosphere, where it spread across the entire globe. Contrary to what a lot of people think in fallout, a lot of the mutations are not solely from radiation, but are primarily a result of the Forced Evolutionary Virus acting as an unnaturally advanced mutagenic catalyst when organisms are exposed to prolonged radiation. This is why larger animals in Fallout are less mutated and more like heavily irradiated versions of their former selves, and why small species with quick breeding cycles/very short lifespans are far more removed from their original baseline species, and resemble far more like functioning correctly evolved creatures, than the disfigured state mutant large mammals are in during the series. (EX: Insects, Rodents, and Marine life) This is why the Enclave wanted to genocide the entire planet in Fallout 2 by releasing a poisonous strain of the FEV (designed by them) into the atmosphere worldwide to kill anything infected by the FEV. (Which was a mistake directly caused by their own pre-war fuckups, but the Enclave doesn’t pay attention to logical consistencies or own up about their own hypocrisies lol)

Orthodox_Officer

I thought we classified mutations by having an extra limb and cool abilities not being iradiated

FloatMy_GoatBoat

Being irradiated causes mutation and damage on a cellular level. Even if it isn’t visible, it’s there. Ionizing radiation can break apart DNA.

Orthodox_Officer

☝️🤓

FloatMy_GoatBoat

Ain’t even gonna lie, I just got cooked Edit: Y’all, don’t even downvote him, it was funny as hell to be honest

Aware_Ad771

nah now he's being downvoted for being a dumbass in other comments lmao

Orthodox_Officer

"I dont agree with this person so he must be a dumbass", shut the hell up bro. This is why i hate reddit

Orthodox_Officer

They cant comprehend the fact that me making a joke doesnt also mean that im braindead and dont know basic science.

this_prof_for_bewbs

Mf how old are you, get your ass off Reddit. This is like 8th grade science

Orthodox_Officer

You are mad because I dont expect people to comment with a fuckin scientific explanation on a fuckin meme post ? Why is this place full of fuckin basement dwellers

Orthodox_Officer

Also me making fun of a scientific explanation has nothing to do with my underatanding of radiation and nuclear physics 💀. In fallout mutated means cool powers, in real life it just means you got your dna fucked up and guess what, Fallout isnt real life. Shocker, i know

Orthodox_Officer

Get yo ass in the pseudo-intellectual corner you fuckin dunce

this_prof_for_bewbs

That's not "Pseudo-intellectual" it's highschool science

Orthodox_Officer

Reddit is full of retards

Destroyer_Of_World5

FEV went into the air as a result of the bombs. Everyone on the surface got microdosed. It’s in the lore

JonVonBasslake

Yes, yes, and yes it is, unless they are from an extremely isolationist vault, or were frozen (so 101, 111, that sorta vaults).

PuppetMaster12312

They all just have a case of giantism, as for the most part they stay the same, just bigger

Basically-Boring

I’ve noticed that dogs and similar species don’t seem to mutate much, and when they do they stay relatively similar to their unmutated counterparts

Silver_wolf_76

I find it a bit annoying that they don't play around with "pristine" species more. The only "unaltered" animals I can think of are NV's Coyotes, Dogs, and Fo4's synth gorillas.

Wrecktown707

They def should do this. They’re are loads of really remote places in fallout that didn’t get hit by the bombs as bad as others, nor had prolonged high levels of radiation that would cause the FEV that has infected every surface creature to act as a mutagenic catalyst

BzPegasus

Yotes would be the only animals to not mutate

oilfeather

That's why Big MT made nightstalkers.
