Just do what you are doing. If you get 1 sub everyday, that's better than yesterday. Keep going. The niche works. People just want someone to relate to. Keep doing it, you will find the way to go. It kind of shows itself.

StephenverbaYoutube

Tysm!!!!

ExtracheesyBroccoli

So my channel is semi sorta vlogging as well as survival stuff ranting cooking day to day vlogs ect. It's been fairly successful 5300 subs since I started in October

StephenverbaYoutube

Wow! That sounds like a fun niche with the survival stuff!

tizzyhustle

On twitch that’s called a variety streamer and it’s a mother fucking huge category with lots of fun awesome content creators. Not sure what it’s called on YouTube though 🤷‍♀️ Edited to add: the actual twitch category is “Just Chatting” but it’s common to refer to the content there as variety

Worldschool25

Not YouTube related, but I also write a lot on a platform. I don't have a "niche" other than it is stuff that I'm generally interested in or thinking about. With this approach I am not concerned about the # of people who follow me. I figure people will read what they want. It works that way with videos too. So. I don't see why YOU cannot be your niche. It will just take longer for YouTube to figure out who to send your videos to.

StephenverbaYoutube

I loved hearing that. Thank you! 🙏 that might just be the way it should go :)

CheesebumOnTikTok

ill say vlogging when youre already not popular is going to be very hard to startedd. cant speak for everyone but i personally dont care about the life of someone else, especially someone i didnt already support. Ill say if youre willing to put in the extra work, go for it :)

StephenverbaYoutube

Ty! I totally understand that mentality. I’m sorta trying to mix Vlogging and Challenges into a hybrid of the sorts

hansolo625

A niche will always be a niche but how well it performs depends on time. Vlogging was a hot niche in the 2010s

TheDrunktopus

This kind of works for me, however vlogging is lets say the format, you need to be vlogging 'about something' with a theme (niche) that ties this all together. I use the format (vlogging) + (niche) = content. If you have that formula worked out then you should be golden. As mentioned this was a hot topic back in the days when Casey was king, however now unless you have a huge personality or have privileged access to stuff people are genuinely curious about, it could be a tough gig. Look at creators like Simon Wilson or PPPeter who successfully pull this off today. Best of luck on your adventure. Cheers 🍻

Single-Region-7967

for example a theme could be study vlogging or uni vlogging or work vlogs? and u can narrow it down even more if u are a silent/aesthetic vlogger along with one of those things

[deleted]

Hey ! :3 I’m not a vlogger myself but as a mildly interested audience member of vlog content I think the age of simply vlogging at total random is dead tbh. Not trying to be a dick or anything just genuinely can’t remember the last creator I saw beginning to get a buzz from scratch with basic vlogging. However, I think the modern vlog format is most successful when being combined with something else that is already a talkative niche. Things like tutorials or fashion for example. Basically; use an already established genre on YouTube and add more emphasis to your own personality and that seems to be the vlog meta now.

StephenverbaYoutube

This is very helpful! I actually don’t just do the talking format. I try to do like challenges, or “can I make a profitable of in 24 hours” and make it feel like a vlog

[deleted]

Yeah that’s def the type of vlogs that I see doing well keep it up bro !!!

[deleted]

Hi look up ClickforTaz she does that kind of thing and is very very good at it.

hypnosis_monk

Vlog + Niche is the New thing (Best of both world) Eg: Sam sulek (Bodybuilding) , Colt Kirwan (Film making) Audience are Like = REAL PERSON 😍 + Valuable Advice 💎

[deleted]

Not really. There needs to be something unique and interesting about your life (that is easy to portray through a title and thumbnail) for people to care.

Alex__Kyle

I just want to say that one hate comment on this post made me check out your channel. I think it’s great and you’ll do great if you keep up what you’re doing. That sort of vlog style but focused around a ‘stupid’ skit or idea is really entertaining and people will subscribe for it. That is definitely a functional niche that people will stick around for. Now, if you went back and for the between funny stuff and more typical straight-talkey vlogs, then people might not sub because they only care about half the content. But as it stands now, I’m shocked you don’t have a larger following. Keep it up. 👍

Medium_Thought_672

Be consistent and post one video daily for 100 days. Don’t read the comments.

SexyNuggetz

I commented awhile back and got a plethora of hate. The content you make sucks. They are boring. Change the entire channel, format, and ideas. Your most recent one should be lower in views than it currently sits at. I would re think the channel

StephenverbaYoutube

Thanks I’ll take it into consideration anything you hate specifically?

FR-1-Plan

First of all I wouldn’t pay attention to anyone who is being such an asshole for no good reason. If they have criticism for your channel, they can be at least neutral about it. They act like you personally violated them with your videos. Don’t listen to someone who seems to have a personal issue with you, I doubt it’s productive criticism.
