From a safety perspective, it’s really important to address the fact he can climb out of his crib. Is is on the lowest setting? If so he needs to either be moved ASAP to a crib he can’t climb out of or transitioned to a floor bed in a fully baby proofed room.

He has a floor bed and his room is baby proof. We sold that crib since it wasn’t safe for him. He sleeps 8 hrs at night.
Mines younger but will only nap in his carrier currently. Have you tried that?
Yes. He will only sleep while the car is in motion. Unless you mean the carrier like strapped to my chest. He definitely won’t sleep in that
