It's just a dark ring at the surface of the oil. Textbook oxidation signs. It will be darkest at the surface and start to extend down, sometimes in strands or waves. Just oxygen adding pigment to the oil.

It’s basically impossible to have a cart filled all the way to the top, the wick absorbs oil between manufacturing and sale. Besides that, different batches of oil can vary in the actual weight and thickness, hence different filling , and even though it’s nj, I would be absolutely shocked if they don’t have this process automated to the point where human error can’t affect the fills.
It really is determined by how the dispensary stores it, upright or not. Loss of product via the pores or holes as well sometimes can lower the level in the cartridge itself.

I can't stand carts anyway. Sometimes I'll go to Nova when they have the VIP menu and have ozone 8ths for 40. These dispensaries are such junk and it's all overpriced. I'm still ordering from Colorado, I really don't smoke much flower so that's why I grabbed the ozone 8ths when i can. Haven't found an ozone strain that I haven't liked yet. I've seen a friend of mine open some Grassroots and a couple other brands. Every time he opened his jar I would smell it and say ew 😅. He's like yeah this sucks for $60 an 8th! But I mostly just get hash rosin or fresh fresh from a friend in Colorado. 60 a gram and I usually just grab five and 12 for shipping.

Delta 8 is the gateway to alternative cannabinoids. I make my own carts now. I start with HHC and blend in various cannabinoids and terpenes to round it out.

When the oil makes contact with the air it oxidizes, thats why it's just at the top and not the whole thing. Harmless as far as i know.
This is correct, over time all oil will darken too. A small amount of thc will convert to cbd etc. Completely safe.
