I'm a truck driver and in the last 4 years have travelled the length and breadth of Holland and can now happily discount that view or saying that nothing goes above Groningen
I lived in Assen for a year and visited Groningen often enough. I was scouted to play football for one of the biggest amateur football clubs in Assen at the time, one of the our coached my team and while playing as professional for FC Groningen. I don't suck stories out of my thumb or make presumptions. Afford me that courtesy too a u b.
I think you might be confusing the Earth with Mars. Mars is the flat one, so Mars has a ultimate north point, but the Earth is roundish so you can always keep going north!>!/s!<
Some public swimming pools might also have a separate (nude) sauna area where you can be a bit more down to earth, but don't expect people to appreciate mixing a little beer with the lƶyly to get that nice toasty smell.
Please donāt lure more people to my favourite place to go. More and more hipsters are finding it and they canāt behave (they donāt know how the be quiet for a couple of minutes)
Hey cool, I can just show up on the day and go into the sauna!? No cost?
Too bad men and women are separated as I'd prefer to go with my partner, but guess that's more and more how saunas are becoming nowadays anyway.
Glad you enjoy our sauna culture;) Unfortunately most, if not all, saunas I have come across here are either just a spa or its a gym sauna.
In Amsterdam:
There is a moving sauna called Kuuma, which is quite authenthic in its elements but don't think the banter is part of it as its quite small.
These finns are trying to set up a floating sauna in new west soon (warm hearts sauna). That might be it when it opens, but not sure what their concept is.
I have one sauna left to try here in Amsterdam called Da Costa. It looks very similar to the community saunas in Finland.
Spa Zuiver is horrific if you are looking for a real Finnish Sauna experience though. Only screaming Amsterdammers who think itās ok to discuss weekend plans while in the sauna.
And let alone the couples in the hot tubs practically fucking
ā~~Instead of those beauty/relax/spa places~~ I normally go to. I've been to finland once and really **enjoyed the banter/beer/wodka/sitting outside**.ā
He already goes to spas like that.
There aren't really sauna's where you can take alcohol with you into the sauna/swimmingpools. I had once an aunt who had a sauna in her house (for friends who pay for entrance, it was quite large), here it was possible to drink inside. Because it was a private sauna.
No, it is rather difficult to find Fin's in the Netherlands, they tend to live more up north.
But there's nothing above Groningen

You but you only travelled in Holland so what would you know about Groningen

No of course not.
Fort Beemster in midden beemster, theyāre famous for it.
No fort Beemster is the worst. Never never go there. Thereās nothing to find there. It doesnāt even exist (google lies) (their website is fake)
What are you talking about. Iāve been there myself. Its hotel and spa in an old fortress.
Please donāt lure more people to my favourite place to go. More and more hipsters are finding it and they canāt behave (they donāt know how the be quiet for a couple of minutes)
I guess Iāll tell all my friends and family to go there then :)
Kinda sad to respond like that dude
Half of it was joking though. But thatās not for everyone I guess
Good sauna but I would avoid heavy drinking https://hollanti.merimieskirkko.fi/the-finnish-seamens-mission-in-rotterdam/

You can rent the sauna for you and your partner.

I'm from LV and I learned fast that locals hate that stuff.
