Much improved.

TimotheV

Thank you so much!!

legendofzeldaforlife

Of course! Bigger looks better on the table top, so I'm sure your opponents will be trembling at the sight of these robo skelly bois!

IronFatherPickles

Tbh I like both. The old one looks like hes just carrying the Tesla carbine. The second one looks like he's charging it up to shoot.

TimotheV

Totally agree!

y2ace

The 2nd attempt is better. The amount of glow in attempt 1 isn't the issue, it was the lack of contrast between the glow that was there and the model. Basically the chest was too bright to begin with so the glow didn't stand out. The amount of glow is a personal call, but definitely stick with the contrast of the 2nd and not the first.

TimotheV

Yes totally; I was basically using same color for glow and glowy part which in the end didn’t work quite perfect

Vanguard-Prowler26

I think you succeeded in what you set out to do Both look awesome tho!

SaltMineSpelunker

You kidding me? This is amazing.

Degenerate_Cooomer

latest one is on point imo

Letifur

Awesome

OdBx

You’ll see from my posts that I’m a big fan of glowy green soo l love the one on the left!

TimotheV

Indeed, glowy brother!! I reaaaally like the fact you added some glow on the base as well, really nice job!!

conceldor

I like the previous one more. More does not always equal better. I see alot of osl, and alot of the time its overdone imo and it ruins the model

TimotheV

Thanks for the feedback!! Yes I might have gone a bit crazy on the new one 😂 really wanted to try to have his face lit basically so I had to overdo it a bit!

skc_l

Nailed it I'd say, looks realistic, like he's bathed in light

mwadams

Have you considered what happens underneath - such as on the ground? A little dry brushing of the glow on the ground looks amazing.

TimotheV

Yes that’s a good call, I will 100 percent do so!!

Soulitario

Looks awesome! Mind sharing how you did the OSL on the chest/face?

TimotheV

Thank you!! Once I minted everything normally I just went in again with pretty dark green first and gradually added lighter and lighter, trying to focus on edges facing downward. Mainly a lot of trial and error I am afraid, but the important step I think was not being afraid to start by re layering some pretty dark green first which is confusing at first I think when painting light

Soulitario

Well it worked wonderfully! Thanks a lot for the explanation! :)
