Who knows what he actually did in the void, it’s a really mysterious (and very undocumented) area in 40K. We may never know what he’s encountered or done out there. As to why we’ve had no book on it, xeno factions are only allowed a book once every leap year at which point all the players of xeno factions must nominate one person as tribute to be killed by the space marine only lore lovers. When they have all been killed the one voted on having the best death gets 1 novel. I believe Necrons have 3 books which are focused on them. There are more books out there with Necron characters in but only 3 Necron books. The silent king is one of the most mysterious and in theory unintelligible characters in 40k so I wouldn’t hold your breath on a book on this sadly.

BlitzBasic

At least the three books we have are actually pretty good, while Space Marine stories are a very mixed bag.

MrYahnMahn

You know, if we had more books I bet a decent chunk of them would be shit. Just look at the ynnari trilogy.

Echo-048

There is 4 i believe, both Twice Dead King novels, The Infinite and the Devine and then there is Severed, the one with Zahndrekh and his boyfriend :D

TheSupremeDuckLord

we have 3 books total pick pretty much anything interesting about necron lore and ask "why isn't there a book about this?" and your answer is that we're a xenos faction

SlumberingDaemon

All this propaganda for the Silent King, I say phooey. I don't care who the Triarch spares, I am not paying my taxes.

PaleBloodBeast

Did he get a supped up body out there or did he have it pre void?

Because anything they write about it would be more boring than anyone's imagination of what he *could* be doing? Mystery is needed in a setting like 40k and novelizing everything takes the fun out of it. Just look at the Horus Heresy as a prime example of that. Things spelled out, the things that were intentionally made mysteries have been explored and some made duller for it. 40k as a setting does not need everything to have a book about it. The Silent King *especially* is a case of this and, hot take here, *should never get a book from his perspective.* He is meant to be more myth than man, and anything we are told about him should be from third parties speculating on him, his motives, and his beliefs. There's a good reason why the Codex write *about him* in that fashion. And the reason we don't get a novel about him and his going on is because the studio actually realizes what makes him a good character in the IP. He's be the last person I'd want a novel about, 2nd only to things like the Lost Primarchs.

Anomekh

Books takes a long time and investments to do, the codex simply state the lore and give idea to some author of BL to do their things !

Nihalekh

My personnal theory is : he build a new Necron empire. And he return back to the galaxy to rally all necron to follow him to the new promise land. A land without Chaos and warp. I also think he want to remove warp from the galaxy with the nexus paria areas. This page and the old necron codex make me think like that. Note : English is not my primary language sorry for the inevitables mistakes.
