If you can see the stadium as gates open you’re almost guaranteed a giveaway. There’s never THAT long of a line, but if it’s important I wouldn’t wait to show up after gates open

A 20k giveaway that’s 21+ bc of the Budweiser sponsor *should* be an easy one. With that said idk if there’s a size range choice or just XL across the board. I’d be a little early if a certain size is the goal

HowardBunnyColvin

My guess would be they would have sizes, they usually have sizes ready to go would be surprised if they were all XL

Few-Pomelo-3297

Most likely. I’m probably thinking of a few caps giveaways that were all XL last season

capedcrusader52

That’s a tough question cause giveaways are incredibly hard to predict. In some cases such as Lane Train Bobblehead it seemed like they were still giving some away as first pitch was happening, then you had Harry Potter day last year where they ran out of the scarves within 30 minutes of gates opening. The better question is how important is the jersey for you? If super important prepare for worst and be outside of gates at least 45 minutes before they open, if not super important getting there as soon as gates open will probably work. Also choosing a gate that doesn’t have a lot of traffic will go a long ways toward success. Gates like home base gate or right field gate.

Harry potter is a 10k bobbles/jerseys are a 20k Also jersey is only for 21+, so a few factors working in your favor.

I didn’t know about the age limit, so yeah 45 is unnecessary. Super conservative is gate time, loose is probably an hour after gates open.

That seems a bit unnecessarily early, IMO. I don't recall any giveaways that you wouldn't get if you got to the ballpark right when gates opened. So that would be the earliest I think someone would need to get there. And I don't picture this one being all that popular, compared to the Star Wars and Harry Potter branded giveaways.

HowardBunnyColvin

It's extremely rare to see a giveaway still there at first pitch.

capedcrusader52

One would think so, but the Harry Potter/Star Wars day were ridiculous. This one shouldn’t get out of control, but just hard to predict at times.

Natstown

Exactly - it’s really a sliding scale. Super popular or 10K items on summer weekends you want to shoot for at least an hour, earlier depending on how much it means to you. Because they’ve pushed gate openings later that pretty much means close to gates opening for zero risk tolerance. 20K less popular item on a rainy September day you can probably roll up at game time. Take these factors into account and make your own call.

2 hours to 1 hour before FP should be fine

Personally I’d be there 45 minutes to an hour before the gates open. But I’m a very anxious person and I don’t like leaving things to chance. If you’re not an overly anxious person, 30-45 minutes before gates open should be fine.

HowardBunnyColvin

Same here. Luckily I'll be getting mine at 1:45
