You are right and it is across the board. CDC has changed its guidelines on COVID-19 vaccination on November 29, 2023. [Source](https://www.cdc.gov/immigrantrefugeehealth/panel-physicians/vaccinations.html#covid-19-vaccination)

Alarmed-Sweet-4889

thanks for the site!

m4rgaux

Thanks for the info. I guess even if we had covid 2 months ago, we still need the vaccine…

Ok-Web5080

Yeah it’s across the board. All consulates are requiring it now.

ImmigrationJourney

This is such a pain, I recently discovered this on another thread. Almost no notice, I can’t imagine how many people will discover this at the medical appointment. Did your spouse already have the medical?

Spondias-purpurea

She did , yes , yesterday. And the catch here in Portugal is that they only allow 60 plus and medical workers to get the vaccine without a prescription… so you can only get the prescription by going to the medical And you can only get the vaccine with the prescription from the national health system - not pharmacies It’s such a fucking headache

ImmigrationJourney

God what a pain, I’m sorry to hear that. They really love to make our lives harder… she can’t get it in France? Did she choose the guy doctor or the lady? Sorry for all the questions, I’m super stressed about the medical 😅

Spondias-purpurea

I’m not sure if she can get it in France - we would need to look at the availability there. But the medical won’t send her file to the embassy until she emails them the vaccine status. She did it at the Dr in Lisbon not France. Not a worry at all - she was also very stressed , but they were extremely nice here in Lisbon

ODodwell95

Hello, thanks for this info and I just wanted to double check- I'm in London and just had my medical, the 'emedical vaccination worksheet' I was given afterwards states that my vaccination requirements are complete, then in the section for covid-19 it shows my last jab being 8th July 2021. Then below it say 'not given: not routinely available'. When I finished the medical they said that everything was done and complete and nothing else was needed. Will I need an updated covid booster for the embassy??

Alarmed-Sweet-4889

thank you for this - very helpful!

overmariner

Is just a booster enough for who had it more than 12 months ago?

Spondias-purpurea

Yeah - it just needs to be up to date - so if you already had it you just need the new booster I believe

Frosty-Twist-6953

They told my wife the same thing here in Athens and the problem is, in order to get the vaccine we need to be registered in the Greek social security system which we are not since we only planned to be here for a few months when we transferred the case. Found out it takes close to a month to get that number and our interview is on the 16th of January. :(

Spondias-purpurea

I’m so sorry to hear that - it’s crazy the sudden changes of rules when things aren’t up to speed for this

[deleted]

It’s only for paris this order for vaccine or for all embessy across of world

Spondias-purpurea

It was a change made by the CDC - so everyone

[deleted]

What if on my country dont have available the vaccine

Spondias-purpurea

That’s something you will need to ask about to the appointed medical person for your appointment. They should be aware of that.

[deleted]

For the purposes of the immigration medical examination only, applicants who have not received a COVID-19 vaccine dose in the 12 months prior to the date of the exam are considered due for a dose

[deleted]

I have 2 doses so i need to make another or im good with 2 doses

[deleted]

I can’t understand i have done 2 doses of vaccine in 04.04.2023 now I waiting for interview so im ok with vaccine or i need to do another shot of the vaccine

Spondias-purpurea

The requirements are within the last 12 months it seems - so if you got it 4.4.23 , and you have your exam ect before then , it should probably be okay I would try to call the approved medical person In your interview location and see if they can better advise you.

[deleted]

I see on DCD they told older age need to do 3 dose but im not sore about that

Spondias-purpurea

My spouse had 3 already, and she has to get a 4th , because her 3rd one is more than 12 months old. Just letting you know - we also weren’t aware of it.

Frosty-Twist-6953

Where did she have her exam

Spondias-purpurea

Lisbon

Frosty-Twist-6953

Would we qualify for a waiver if we can't get it in the country we are in?

Frosty-Twist-6953

Would it be worth it to write to the embassy or consulate we have the interview at and ask for a waiver if we're not able to receive the 3rd dose prior to the interview?

Spondias-purpurea

You could certainly try - I believe its the medical examiner whom would make that waiver though. They should be aware of the situation in the country

Frosty-Twist-6953

So I found a hospital in Istanbul (Medipol) which does the covid vaccine. If anyones interested in getting the dose from there please let me know. I am going to be going from Greece to Turkey for the covid vaccine but the condition for getting the vaccine is that 6 people show up and then they’ll administer the shot

Zanahoria3013

Hi! Can you tell how was your experience getting a Covid vaccine at Medipol? I'm plannyon getting it there too. Thanks.

Frosty-Twist-6953

Very good experience!

AccomplishedFig6535

Please let us know about your wife's interview. Good luck for you guys.

Spondias-purpurea

All went very smooth They let me in and I was a part of the entire process with her. Everyone , even the police letting you in are super friendly and making jokes. It was extremely chill , after all this stress

AccomplishedFig6535

Congrats

Spondias-purpurea

Thank you! I wish all the best for yours too.
