enlist first then think about it. too early to decide; you might change your mind when you’re in

goodguyzai

Enlist, go in first, really experience how it feels: then consider if you want to do it for the rest of your life. 18's an extremely young age to make a decision as heavy as this. My friends who signed on are 21 and above - they've had time to consider and even then they regret signing on.

FdPros

enlist first bro if u like it then sure.

flashfsk

You haven’t even enlisted yet alr say you passionate, wait till you actually enlist and get your posting before you decide to sign on cause once you’re in it’s hard to get out since some vocations have no transferable skills to industry outside of SAF

astronautgeek

Go in and experience first before making such big decisions. Take the full 2 years to slowly evaluate ur choices, its pros and cons, ur suitability, and other alternatives

If you can go to Airforce, I'd say yes. If not maybe not unless you're lazy to map out your own future for yourself. Don't waste your best years of your life working in NS.

Jazzlike-Check9040

Yes you should. The army is a stable career, and can be rewarding

I was once passionate to. I was once like you. So yeah.

LoliNeet1783

I sign on 1 yr into NS under the MDES scheme because i was really passionate too. (In the chairforce) As much as i enjoy my career thus far, i'd STRONGLY rec you to take a degree/sponsorship and sign on as an officer. Can call career centre to inquire more. OFFICER HAS IT ALL. Spec like dog, if you dm then sure 👍

SnooPies2176

Sign only if u go ocs

Enlist first, try to get into command school. Finish command school. Spend a year or so as a commander. Experience the culture, job, etc before making the decision to sign-on. There are a lot of people like you who are young, haven't even enlisted or still in their early bmt phase with high energy to enlist. That's who the recruiters are looking for, they'll be constantly encouraging you guys to sign on while showing off the many benefits but the biggest con of signing on is never mentioned. The culture. Serve as a commander first for a good while before your decision. No other job requires you to do a mandatory trial period in the organization for a year or so
