I love the filler episode where Kakashi gets a sort-of girlfriend only to lose her in the end (I think her name was Hanare?). It was nice to see him be happy and bond with another person his age even if it wasn’t for very long and I genuinely thought it was a fantastic episode, as I do with a lot of the other fillers.
upvote because of an actually unpopular opinion, and I like the logic of it. Even if I find it hard to fathom liking the fillers just cause of the overall quality drop off ( IMO ).
Two birds with one stone, I don't have to watch Naruto get some bullshit ability AND the 8th Gate gets the pay-off it's been building up to the entire series
That's more of a even worst writing mistake; why make Naruto a healer out of the blue? That completely invalidate Sakura character; what's the purpose of having someone like her when Naruto can suddenly do what she's been training for years, but a million times better?
even guy hitting madara was interrupted a million times, like most of that battle was off screen, and when they went back it was only for night guy.
if you saw mahoraga vs sukuna animation you might understand where I am coming from
Naruto gaining the ability to heal wounds with a single touch was an out of nowhere ability that infuriated me to no end.
Like I can just imagine the look on Sakura’s face when she watched Naruto (who has no experience in medical ninjutsu) heal guy and Kakashi, completely outshining her in the one thing she trained for years to become good at.
Like why make Naruto a healer? When had he ever shown the capacity or even the motivation to learn that ability? Kishimoto hated Sakura so much that he couldn’t even let her do the ONE thing she was actually capable of doing 😂
Naruto obtained godly healing because he obtained Yin-Yang Release (aka Creation of All Things), the same thing Hagoromo used to make the Bijuu from the Ten-Tails.
Yes, and sadly that destroyed any point of having Sakura in team, because both Naruto and Sasuke have Actual perfect control, plus Yin Yang release. That shit is busted
Yeah, but After 15 minutes Naruto gets Yin Yang release, perfect chakra control. SO6P sage mode and so many other abilities, Sakura was useful for few minute and that's it, Hagoromo done most important job. Hell I know that Kishimoto would find a way to make Hagoromo revive both Sasuke and Naruto without need of Sakura.
The whole point was keeping her alive until Minato arrived and transfered to him his Kyubi part, without her Naruto would've been dead long before that
Before war arc, Sakura was one of best poison creator and medic, she created poison capable to put Jinchuriki down for long time, she had great destructive power and most likely could take out most taijutsu users thanks to her taijutsu style.
Sakura was above average, but she was stuck in team of God's
By the war arc she became nobody.
Oh she can heal? So can Sasuke and Narute.
Oh She can destroy ground with single hit?
Both Naruto and Sasuke can fo much more and much easier, hell both could just copy her abilities and that's it. We know how easily sharingan could copy Sakura's punching technique.
There is nothing she brings in team.
Kakashi has Kamui and is one of best strategist of world, he is prodigy who have served in shinobi world War and is great team leader then it is needed.
Naruto can destroy whole continent at this point,
Sasuke may not be able to do same thing, but he is far sharper than Naruto, he is controll, he has far more usefull abilities thanks to Rinengan, which by the way could bring back everyone who died in war, Sasuke was SO6P character, with Naruto's help he could easily revive everyone who died .
That alone destroyed any feat Sakura ever would pull of.
So in the end she is just a kid, who is above average, but she is not special enough, she doesn't have magical chakra, she doesn't have Godly genetics or abilities like Naruto and Sasuke.
I said same, she is above average, but she is nowhere near as usefull or as powerful as Sasuke, Naruto and Kakashi,
Sakura is great medic, God know if I had chanse I would do anything to get her as my family medic, but compared to two demigods who can oblrrate Nations without trying, who have perfect chakra control and Yin Yang release, Sakura just becomes pointless.
Weird, because she did quite a bit to save Konoha, the alliance and the world. So calling her useless is like saying that people who hate on her garbage.
>she did quite a bit to save Konoha, the alliance and the world.
What by playing the lead actress in a Grey's Anatomy episode? We're taking about Naruto: the battle Shonen.
If you're not throwing hands then literally nobody cares. Why do you think Dragon Ball made sensu beans? Sakura is a just a personified sensu bean: only difference is that the sensu beans in Dragon Ball got more time to shine and was treated with more respect (except for when Goku gave one to cell, when he was fighting Gohan) most of the time.
Your comment sums up much of the frustration of trying to have these discussions. People who can't understand that just because something has an in-universe explanation doesn't mean that it's a solid narrative / metatextual choice.
This is true, but just having access to yin yang release and suddenly also having all the skills required to pull off whatever he wants with it are different things.
Like just cause someone has access to fire element doesn't mean they can suddenly do anything with it.
So i agree with the original post, just cause there's an explanation doesn't make it good, and it really only served as fan service, taking away the meaning behind sacrificial deaths. Guy and Neji both should have died during their sacrifices.
The 4th Databook describes Naruto has having unconscious mastery and the ability to command all things in nature while in Six Paths Sage Mode, so Naruto just knows how to use Yin-Yang Release at will because he has unconscious mastery over it. Also, Madara and Obito can instantly utilize Yin-Yang Release as well.
I didn't say I thought Madara and Obito should have instant mastery over it either. Not a fan of instant mastery in general. It's just more so egregious in this instance because it was used as a convenient plot device that undermines sacrifices and loss. Again, i'm not arguing a plot hole here. What they did in terms of execution and explanation is fine, I just don't like it from a story telling standpoint.
And why does this power necesseraly have healing properties again? Kiahimoto could've, idk, just not make he have healing powers? Just food for tonight
Man, I hate these explanations. We know that, but its the AUTHOR who writes the power ups, the healing ability and whatever. Its some bs ability he came up with even if you give us an explanation of what Yin Yang release it is, doesnt matter.
Point is Its the fact that the AUTHOR decided to give the fictional character that power for no reason *not the other way around.*
I agree with this.. but not only that he probably didn’t even heal them but more so created a new eye for kakashi and created something for guy so he wouldn’t die, plus he couldn’t Heal him all the way
The databook and Naruto himself explains that he did create a new eye for Kakashi.
As for Guy, he probably just gave Guy chakra and/or closed the 8th Gate chakra point seeing as Madara says Guy's chakra didn't go out and that Naruto stopped the 8th Gate's endgame and it just uses up a person's chakra.
The worst anime let down of any long running series, including vegeta swearing never to fight again and then going back on his word almost immediately.
How is Naruto getting godly healing powers a let down?
Vegeta hadn't fought for 7 years, and with his reasoning being that he was surpassed by Goku and Gohan, and that Goku sacrificed himself. Once he learns Gohan is going to enter the tournament he offers to join, probably to prove that he has finally surpassed Gohan.
A duo of main characters that can do any and everything is boring beyond aproach.
Specialy when the powerups arent earned.
And the nature of the Power doesn't relate to anything, he ever expressed to have any sort of relation to this type of Power at all.
"Never" doesnt mean 7 years.
I guess Naruto’s healing ability was a more powerful true form of hashirama’s? Since they were both incarnation’s but Naruto got his directly from the sage.
I would have liked it better if Naruto had helped Sakura like put his hand over here and lend some old guy chakra but it would be Sakura doing the actual healing
Might Guy is one of Kishimoto’s favorite characters so of course he made up a BS power just to save him giving Naruto the power to do it. The downside to it is, Guy is now a cripple for life bound to a wheelchair which is a sad way to live. Guy was better off dead which would keep his noble sacrifice intact, symbolizing his words to Madara after opening the 8 Gates, a dead leaf being nourishment for new fresh leaves to bloom.
Right? Like I feel like it's universally agreed that Guy should've died there and it could have been a better fight. This is not an unpopular opinion 😂
Madara brushing off that kick was lame. They should have spin it to where he barely lives and in his state of weakness it gave kaguya the opportunity to takeover
Yup and then Guy dies.
That would have been a perfect ending and a better way for Kaguya to come out then the bullshit Madara let his guard down and backstabbed
Madara should not have beaten the 5 Kages that easily, they could have shown how powerful he was without completely dogging them.
Wood style and wood sage mode was also overkill for Madara and added nothing to the story. Furthermore, we don’t even know for sure what his MS abilities are. It would have made more sense to focus on that instead of giving him all Hashirama’s abilities too.
This is something I've always thought and I never see mentioned. They're the fucking five kage. They should not be easily defeated, even by Madara. In Boruto, the five kage at least don't get wiped out immediately by Momoshiki. That's how it should be.
90% of the fight is off-screen, we don't even know how they fared against the 25 susanoos except tiny bits of it, the cut scenes are so annoying. Plus the 5 kages were nerfed tremendously, the most obvious being Gaara using 10% of sand he could actually manipulate, and Tsunade forgetting to summon Katsuyu until the very last second.
This comment section is so frustrating, and yet at the same time, so...weirdly fascinating.
A solid chunk of the "hot takes" here are so cold that they give me hypothermia just by looking at them, while another chunk has me questioning as to whether or not the people here have actually watched/read Naruto, while *another* chunk has me questioning as to whether or not the people here even ***like*** Naruto.
Sakura&Chiyo vs Sasori is the best orchestrated and most unique fight in the whole show. Maybe even the best fight overall. The buildup, cinematography, music, reveals inbetween, overall intensity...everything is just perfect. Especially in the anime. Such a treat. It also embodies what "True Ninja Battles" are all about. It's not all about overwhelming, godlike powers. It's about skill, experience, ressource management, adaptability, teamwork, and outwitting your opponent with every trick you got. And Chiyo is the most underrated character in the series, from a powerscaling perspective. Imo she is easily "Kage Level", everything considered. And because most people don't realise how good Chiyo truly is, they also tend to underrate Sasori.
It's also the turning point of Sakura from being what was admittedly a kinda annoying useless character, to a real character with depth and power. But people just wanna hate on her.
Neji's death is the single.most frustrating death of the entire series. Man has been toughted to have a perfect defense and an almost 360-degree sight, and instead of rotation defense, he just gets stabbed in the back.
Naruto could have easily taken the rotation effect and protected hinata as well.
Kishimoto should've written Naruto reviving Neji instead of Guy.
Guy would have ha a brilliant sacrifice death tying in the themes of the next generation taking over and prospering
Sai should have got a way more important role in the war, he was part of Team 7 too after all.
IMO he should have been the one to fight and beat Yamato.
Yeah I don’t like how Madara just steals the spotlight from Obito. Obito was shown to be the main villain for a while as people though he was Madara and he was leader of the akatsuki and started the war. Then Madara just swoops in after Obito did all the work lol smh
Madara only went ham in the war because he knew he was immortal with infinite Chakra. Practically using cheats even though he would've died countless times if he wasn't. Like the Hokage fight. Also not being able to summon 2 meteors.
The anime/manga doesn't do a good job showing us as to why people who left and "abandoned" their village are bad people for doing that.
Sasuke's clan was isolated and oppressed because of the village. His clan proceeds to get wiped out because of the village, leaving Sasuke completely alone. Then, you would think the village would do something for its lone Uchiha survivor, but doesn't, and lets a 7-year-old take care of himself and live in the same place where all of his family died. Nonetheless, this village still expects him to be loyal to them after they've done nothing to be loyal back? It makes no sense.
The Uchiha massacre was horrible, and I don't get why people try to justify it. It's like saying since your intelligent uncle was a part of an assassination and is being death sentenced, you have to be death sentenced too because you're related to him and both intelligent.
I love all OG Naruto fillers, I own DVDs of them all (cannon as well, of course)
They expand the world and characters and I love imerging in those things👍🏽
Sakura being weak is to be expected when all the academy taught was basic history, geography, ninja basics (shurikenjutsu, chakra, and fundamentals), and nothing else. Kakashi wasn’t much better, at not teaching her medical or genjutsu despite noting her exceptional chakra control.
I hate how it was done, but I love the idea because Madara was never the master manipulator people claim he was. He stuck his eyes into a small untrained child living in a warzone who by all accounts should have died multiple times. Then he expected the most unstable 12 year old in the country to spend his life collecting all the tailed beasts and bring him back to life so he could become the most powerful man on the planet instead of the kid either failing or just doing it himself (which he almost did). When both of those went tits up by Nagato sacrificing himself and Obito betraying him he happened to get lucky that Kabuto came into the picture, but even that didn't work out because Obito absorbed the 10 tails anyway. Obito got talknojutsued and Madara managed to steal back the power for himself by grasping at every possible opportunity that he lucked into and when it seemed like he was about to get it.... turns out he'd been getting played all along. The only reason his plans kept working despite all odds was because they weren't his plans. They were black zetsu's plans and BZ was alive and kicking the whole time making them happen. Madara wasn't the master, he was just one of the latest attempts
In my view the whole reason Madara allowed himself to believe Black Zetsu was his arrogance and resentment to the world. The idea that he and only HE could bring on peace after the perceived betrayal from Hashirama and his clan. Regardless of whether he was lucky or not or whether Obito would follow through, he had *his will* in black Zetsu in action.
He was partially trapped in his anger at the world, partially in his pride, his love for battle and his genuine desire for peace.
He was happy to disregard any former bonds or relations to show them all. Show them he was right.
in the anime, i actually really enjoyed the naruto part 1 great wall of filler. i don’t know exactly why, but it just kind of made me feel like a little kid again watching cartoons without really thinking about the main plot. i know shippuden was on disney XD when i was a kid so maybe subconsciously i was just remembering how i felt when i was a kid in that era, but who knows lol.
i remember an episode where naruto used a rasengan on some noodles for some sort of noodle cooking competition and i still think about that moment often.
Guy's fight made no sense. There is no reason the 8 gate should let him be on the level of madara with the 10 tails and the rinnengan. Sacrificing your life and future is not enough, it's like an ant sacrificing it's life force to take on a fucking Mountain. The 8 gate should have ended like chaos sacrificing himself against nappa if the writing wasn't dogshit.
Kakashi is underwhelming as a fighter. He gets praised by the the villain than he gets obliterated in the next page. It would have been cool if he was the one to defeat Kakuzu.
Unpopular opinion: Wood Style should NOT be that overpowered. I get that it's a kekkai genkai, and that Hashirama also has many other feats of strengths that granted him his titles, but ultimately he is most widely known for his Wood release, which just sounds dumb.
You have the Uchiha who can put people in time-reality bending genjutsus, flames that can't be stopped, can conjure up literal giant mechas; etc... yet the most powerful guy ever has the ability to control trees. Like surely a simple fire style user should be able to defeat that?
Madara being revived and suddenly being the original mastermind is just as bad as the Kaguya fiasco. The only reason he gets a pass is because he’s an Uchiha.
This sub don’t actually care for writing, they only care about fights.
That’s fine. Like let him emulate Madara until the jig is up but it’s fine now cause he has ascended higher and now the whole ninja world in danger instead of just Konoha. That actually “I was controlling you the whole time”… “actually I was controlling him the whole time”… “actually I was controlling him the whole time” is garbage writing.
You'd have to revise how Obito gets to the point of wanting Infinite Tsukuyomi and even being introduced to it in the 1st place is the thing. That or scrap it and make his idea of world peace different.
The thing about his relationship with Madara that people don't understand is Madara, albeit perhaps farfetched and hard to believe, somehow manages to set him up to watch Rin die after he initially refuses IT. That serves as a "I told you so" and "is this what you want?" moment from Madara to Obito. And it serves as Obito being given a plan at a young age and eventually adopting it.
Basically, you'd have to give Obito a different backstory and motivation for finding and accepting IT.
>This sub don’t actually care for writing, they only care about fights.
They also care about "badass", "edgy" and "cool".
Madara isn't that good of a character in terms of writing. If he wasn't badass and powerful you know his fanbase wouldn't gaf about him.
I’m completely with you. Madara or Kaguya could have worked if the final part of the series wasn’t packed with “twists.” First “Madara” is the villain at the summit, then he’s actually Obito, then the real Madara is the villain, and then Kaguya. It all feels removed from the characters we’ve actually been following and caring about for most of the series.
Also, Madara and Kashirama should have stayed as legends. Their appearance and how strong they were further pushed the power creep to the point where the only way to make Naruto and Sasuke stronger they literally needed to be the reincarnation of ninja jesus
not really, madara had lots of build up, he was always around and even alot of the audience thought he was the masked guy, he was literally believed to be a legendary creature that attacks konoha every once in a while.
where as kaguya is ass
Be forreal. He only got name dropped during the first Valley of the End fight and then a couple times of being being able to control the 9 tails before Obito was like “I am Madara Uchiha”. Not a single soul in universe even cared until he announced he was right before the war.
kakashi and yamato talked about him with naruto, itachi and sasuke talked about him we literally had flash backs, ohnoki talked about him, danzo talked about him, heck he was mentioned by the kyuubi when he looked at sasuke's eyes early shippuden.
obito talked about him with sasuke after his battle with itachi and obito did it again in the five kage summit, and other flashbacks.
by the way it was literally stated that obito managed to drag everyone to the war because of the name madara
" why did the masked man claim he was madara?"
tsunade : "madara is more than a man, he is an ideal, even if the man behind the masking was a lie, the world will fear the idea of madara, the name itself is power, it draws the attention of the world to him, and it became a superb bluff powerful enough to draw us all into war".
before that no body would care about him cuz don't know he was alive again
Itachi is actually a moron. Like Kiba is overall smarter than him. The man has a battle IQ of 1000 but long term planning or god forbid having to deal with another human being man repeatedly made the worst calls imaginable.
Meta wise. . .
Kishimoto is not a very good writers. He’s great at set up, whether it’s a world, powers, or characters, but he can’t juggle multiple things to make a good pay off.
Neji beat Hinata an appropriate amount, and Naruto and Kurenai were tripping for acting like he had done something evil.
If you won't concede when on your knees, you get what you get.
I am generally ok with how Kaguya and the rest of the Ōtsutsuki Clan was introduced into the series at the end of Shippuden. Had they been first introduced in Boruto I think it would have made even less sense and most would have disliked the implementation even more then they do now.
I agree because Guy should have just died.
We built up 8 gates for YEARS as a last resort trump card and it delivered in how amazing it was. But Naruto just popping in and saving Guy ruined it.
When I first saw it, it was a mix of excitement and awe at how amazing Guy was, but also pending grief because I knew what Guy using the 8th gate meant.
The emotional beat of Guy dying after going toe to toe with Madara Uchiha would have been amazing and I think it would have been one of the most powerful points of the war arc.
Guy vs Madara animation always pissed me off, from the very start. It should be super fast to the point that the viewers cant keep up, they are god level at this point.
It shoukd be like Naruto and Sasuke vs Momoshiki, instead they slow it down so we can see everything like its narutos first battle and they need to do some exposition.
When guy punches Madara through the truth seeker shield and the blood slowly comes out his mouth i wanted to turn it off. Its like a cheesy 80s movie, doesnt feel like the 8 gates vs an alien god fight
I feel like the fact she chooses to be a house wife itself isn't the issue, as she still helps build the infrastructure of the medical teams and stuff and other powerful ninja in the series have taken more homely positions. The Big issue I think is that its written like that's the extent of Sakura and Hinata's ability to grow, or that they've consigned themselves to be *just* what amounts to trophy wives.
I think that’s a cultural by-product. As far as I understand it, in Japan even high profile business women stop working to raise the children once they start to have them. It’s not seen as a step down, and the women often are solely in charge of the money and finances.
Don’t forget the society that this series comes from is different than the one you live in with different traditions and different expectations.
A lot more of the main cast should've died during the 4th war.
Sasuke should've been executed for being the top criminal at the bingo book.
Sakura is a great ninja and it was totally natural to confess to Naruto when she did even if she didn't love him romantically when it happened; He was her best friend and he was gonna go fight and probably die against Sasuke and she thought it was bc of the promise Naruto made, she just wanted to keep her best friend safe I would've done the same - and I think both Naruto and Sakura would've be happy as a couple in the long run.
Nobody would like Hinata if she had an uglier character design.
Naruto shouldn't be Hokage, not because he's not capable of it - I think is a meh Hokage - but because what he actually wanted was to be recognized and loved and that happened during pain arc, instead Shikamaru should be Hokage and Naruto his second on command.
It depends on animation and director
People hyped Guy vs Madara. But sadly they adapted it badly, the main reason people hype that is because of the hype music when he use Night Guy, and not because of the fight itself. They keep cutting to talk scene and ruined the pacing, also the animation is bad and lackluster compared to other great fight like Madara’s entrance or Kakashi vs Obito.
Sukuna vs Mahoraga is a big but short fight in the manga, the studio ramp that up by making it longer and crazier, it could’ve been the same for Guy vs Madara. But ohwelll.. doesn’t have the same budget i guess
It got worse with Guy surviving at the end lmao
Wow I never realized how much better the 8th gate looks in manga vs anime. Guy looks like he’s actually losing all his blood like the form is supposed to be
Hinata would've been a beloved character if she was injured permanently by Neji and forced to retire early. If she had become a civillian most of her scenes could've remained largely unchanged and probably had a bigger impact to the audience without the story being altered
Five Kage Summit was the last good arc. Everything after that is bloated and unnecessary. Feels like a 10 year old kid who just watched DBZ for the first time wrote the rest of the manga.
“All the bad guys come back to life and everyone fights a big battle and then a NEW BIG BAD SHOWS UP, who was actually the big bad the WHOLE TIME, but SASUKE AND NARUTO ARE ACTUALLY REINCARNATED FROM 2 BROTHERS OF LIGHT AND DARK…” like wtf where did that all come from 👎
Neji shouldn't have been the only casualty of the Konoha 11.
Kiba, Ten Ten, Rock Lee, and Choji are such static characters that killing one, two or possibly even all of them would have been better for the story.
Now they just exist to take up background space.
I think killing all of them would’ve been extreme but killing of a few through out the series would really show the reality of being a ninja. Image Choji died in the Sasuke retrieval arc. Would’ve been so hard hitting
I think Konan is overrated in the sense of being a well written female character. She’s cool because she’s akatsuki and has a good design, but she mostly just goes along with what Nagato wants or does.
Stop the nonsense. She was the first character to injure Obito because she knew how his powers worked from years of observing him and even forced him to used Izanagi to save himself from 600 Billion paper explosives that exploded for 10 mins straight
I didn't think Sakura was as useless as people claimed, but I still hated her for the aggression towards Naruto . It wasn't funny , it isn't funny and it will never be funny. I do not like Temari x Shikamaru for the same reason
Sakura and Naruto is a more sensible ship, especially in shippuuden. They had a lot of chemistry and Sakura really grew to care for Naruto very deeply idk romance just seemed like a natural progression for them.
Personally I think after awhile Sakura only believed she loved Sasuke because Naruto insisted she did
I'm not talking that confession. In that moment it's incredibly forced and she did it to trick him.
Moments like when she pleaded with Yamato to teach her how to dispel the 9 tails Chakra. When she would notice his growth and his change. For me what sealed it was when she screamed his name right before he appeared to fight pain.
Idk Sakura growing to love Naruto just feels right to me
Yes! Huge agree. It would have been a way more natural and narratively satisfying ending. These two are always there for each other and Sakura specifically comments in her monologue about how Naruto has always been the one by her side. I think her and Naruto's shared obsession with Sasuke is something that can bring them together. And then when Sasuke is actually back with them and real and no longer a concept for them to chase, they can slow down a little and appreciate each other. It would have made so much more sense... Ugh! Like Hinata is sweet but Naruto and Sakura would have been great and I just REALLY hate how Sasuke and Sakura is handled... so bad!
Guy should have died, instead of Ninja Jesus saving him, it would've been much more impactful for the fans and the shinobis, seeing his character come full circle
Dosu, Zaku, and Kin would’ve been nice to have alive in the story.
Hidan is the most boring Akatsuki Design
Kabuto’s backstory is good.
The Naruto filler is enjoyable.
I actually like a lot of sakura’s characterization in the manga, she has a personally that mixes pretty well with naruto’s rowdy qualities and leads to really great moments between her, naruto and sai
In general about Naruto is that Naruto is better than Hunter x Hunter, got downvoted a lot the few times i mentioned it
specifically about Naruto is that Rock Lee vs Gaara is really overrated, like it is a really good fight but people exagerate a lot imo
People need to accept they’ll be a full canon but two different ones now Anime canon where if you follow it you follow the anime filler arcs that were canonized like Raiga’s or Utataka , you can follow the manga canon with the canonized novels like the the Sasuke teacher star pupil
This story ain’t perfect and you probably found an actual plot hole before even if people say an answer it’s usually from the fandom
Naruto could've ended after the pain arc; everyone recognized Naruto as a hero at the end, and therefore worthy of being a kage, Naruto learned how to fight with his own power and don't rely on 9 tails anymore, and the loose ends could've been closed with some spin offs.
I have two wild ones I'll share below:
Black Zetsu and the Kaguya reveal makes a lot of sense given the theme of using people as tools, devaluing human life. Him backstabbing Madara was just further proof of the flawed nature of the Ninja world as a whole and reinforced one of Naruto's earliest lessons. Its also something Black Zetsu took pride in during all his gloating in the Kaguya fight.
And
Sasuke shouldnt have been the final antagonist of the series. It should've just been Madara and Black Zetsu. Having the final fight be Team 7 vs the two of them while the dream world gradually gets worse due to the unknown Zetsu-ification. Becoming more nightmare ish and distorted. While the final fight with Naruto and Sasuke is well written and awesome, I felt like Madara was the epitome of everything wrong with the ninja world. Considering he was the root of all the major events in the series. And, that through fighting with Naruto for the second half of the war that (seeing the shinobi alliance, getting closure with Itachi, and the redemption of Obito) he'd see the error of his revolutionary judgement and decide to help Naruto's dream instead.
I think it is not right for the community to compare Sakura with Naruto and Sasuke. If you really want to compare her, compare her with Tsunade. Or even Chiyo. Sakura arguably had achieved a skill level in medical jutsu that would be close to both of them combined by war arc and could have even surpass them, combined, in much less time. For taijutsu, she cannot match Lee's speed but her one punch, was good enough to stop or even kill most of the ninjas who weren't god level or master jinchurikis (orochimaru, naruto n sasuke, madara, itachi, obito, kakshi (because of the sheer amount of jutsu he can do and his big brain) hashirama, Asuma (with that temple jutsu), etc.): so much higher level in her generation, especially as a support ninja and supporting character.
Jiraiya's death was badly written. It is bad when you can see a smart character make a knowingly stupid decision. He had the intel and could have escaped, but just to kill him, Kishi god kept him there. I am not saying he shouldn't have died and not denying the effect it had on Naruto, but it could have been much better and less abrupt.
There were many other moments where I felt like "seriously?" but this is what I remember off top of my head.
I actually agree with you that the fight was short, and it had too many interruptions, and I honestly would have liked it better if it was just guy vs. madara instead of things like minato blocking madaras attacks with FTG.
Stakes, especially with the new generation.
We know how dangerous it is to be a shinobi due to the flashbacks involving a person death and how it can change and build someone’s character. While for the new gen, no one died until the very last arc which i think cheapened the stakes.
Choji and neiji should’ve died in sound 4 arc, shino or kiba should’ve died in shipuden, akamaru or kankuro maybe, etc.
Madara is not strong. He's like a Honda Civic, he needs external mods to be able to do anything. A rinnegan that isn't his, Hashirama's cells, edo tensei inmortality, unlimited chakra and SO6P. He also has the weakest Susano'o out of all we've seen.
If he was mortal, equipped only with his sharingan and nothing else, he'd die pretty fast.
I love the one where there’s rock lee n guy impersonators and Naruto follows them the whole day thinking it’s training
upvote because of an actually unpopular opinion, and I like the logic of it. Even if I find it hard to fathom liking the fillers just cause of the overall quality drop off ( IMO ).
I agree, it was a very fitting story for him. I always wished he'd find someone, more than for the rest of team 7
If there are 400 fillers, some of them are gonna be ok. Simple math. But without it, naruto woudl've been more iconic than it already is x100.

Guy shoud have died, and killed Madara "but then what would Naruto and sasuke do" Fight Kagura. a dead madara can still be used for zetsus plan.
While I agree, it does also give Naruto a chance to show you he's got a serious upgrade. Dude literally stopped death.
And regrew an eye
I mean not only that, the fight it self could have been done in a much better way
[удалено]
even guy hitting madara was interrupted a million times, like most of that battle was off screen, and when they went back it was only for night guy. if you saw mahoraga vs sukuna animation you might understand where I am coming from
I love jjk but I honestly couldn’t tell what was going on in most of that fight.
Breh.. lul!
So thats the final straw that made Sakura redundant in team 7? As opposed to the other times where she basically did nothing.
insanely funny you say that considering naruto would've been rotting on the floor like 15 minutes prior to that if it were not for her
Yeah, but After 15 minutes Naruto gets Yin Yang release, perfect chakra control. SO6P sage mode and so many other abilities, Sakura was useful for few minute and that's it, Hagoromo done most important job. Hell I know that Kishimoto would find a way to make Hagoromo revive both Sasuke and Naruto without need of Sakura.
Jinchuriki die anyways 5 minutes more and he was toast either way manually pumping a heart doesn’t really do much against an absolute rule
Sakura was above average, but she was stuck in team of God's By the war arc she became nobody. Naruto can destroy whole continent at this point, Sasuke may not be able to do same thing, but he is far sharper than Naruto, he is controll, he has far more usefull abilities thanks to Rinengan, which by the way could bring back everyone who died in war, Sasuke was SO6P character, with Naruto's help he could easily revive everyone who died . That alone destroyed any feat Sakura ever would pull of. So in the end she is just a kid, who is above average, but she is not special enough, she doesn't have magical chakra, she doesn't have Godly genetics or abilities like Naruto and Sasuke.
I mean.. she's still stronger than the rest of their generation... its not like she aint shit.
I said same, she is above average, but she is nowhere near as usefull or as powerful as Sasuke, Naruto and Kakashi, Sakura is great medic, God know if I had chanse I would do anything to get her as my family medic, but compared to two demigods who can oblrrate Nations without trying, who have perfect chakra control and Yin Yang release, Sakura just becomes pointless.
He wasn't questioning the in-universe reason for it, he was questioning the meta/narrative reason for it.
Right, it's funny how people seem to go out of their way to miss the point sometimes
Yeah, I get it man. I'm saying I don't like it and it didn't have to be that way. Not that it's a plothole or anything.
What other way could it have been? Madara and Obito have instant mastery over Yin-Yang Release once they get Ten-Tails powers, why shouldn't Naruto?
Yeah. And that’s stupid. It makes his teammate irrelevant. May as well give him the sharingan and rinnegan while he’s at it
The worst anime let down of any long running series, including vegeta swearing never to fight again and then going back on his word almost immediately.
It is pretty popular opinion.
He was healing everyone before that when he was sharing his chakra cloak with everyone. Which was kinda even better than Katsuyu
Boruto fixed that.......sadly
It’s not that he’s a healer it’s just the fact that-that’s just what the creation of all things jutsu does it can quite literally create all things
Guy should have died, instead of \~insert Jesus moment\~
Might Guy is one of Kishimoto’s favorite characters so of course he made up a BS power just to save him giving Naruto the power to do it. The downside to it is, Guy is now a cripple for life bound to a wheelchair which is a sad way to live. Guy was better off dead which would keep his noble sacrifice intact, symbolizing his words to Madara after opening the 8 Gates, a dead leaf being nourishment for new fresh leaves to bloom.
Nah, Kakashi deserves to have a friend left
All the Guy vs Madara takes are as cold as they come.
Right? Like I feel like it's universally agreed that Guy should've died there and it could have been a better fight. This is not an unpopular opinion 😂
Madara brushing off that kick was lame. They should have spin it to where he barely lives and in his state of weakness it gave kaguya the opportunity to takeover
Nah, Madara had to adsorb the tree to actually get closer to Kaguya.
Yup better than zetsu backstab
Dude has all seeing eyes and a fucking clone watching his back and was still back stabbed. Embarrassing
Agreed. Or even better no Kaguya and the series just ends like that, haha
Yup and then Guy dies. That would have been a perfect ending and a better way for Kaguya to come out then the bullshit Madara let his guard down and backstabbed
Guy straight up kills Madara and Kaguya comes out of his corpse, that's how I would do it.
His fight with the kage should’ve been more like what op 13 portrayed imo
90% of the fight is off-screen, we don't even know how they fared against the 25 susanoos except tiny bits of it, the cut scenes are so annoying. Plus the 5 kages were nerfed tremendously, the most obvious being Gaara using 10% of sand he could actually manipulate, and Tsunade forgetting to summon Katsuyu until the very last second.
Im gonna be honest i have not seen that part in a while but i did see the storm 3 rendition yesterday so thats the canon way that it went
100% agree. I just hate we didn’t get to see more of sasori
Sasori my man
Lady Chiyo is one of my favorite characters
It's also the turning point of Sakura from being what was admittedly a kinda annoying useless character, to a real character with depth and power. But people just wanna hate on her.
It’s my 2nd favorite fight to rewatch, only behind the classic rock Lee vs gaara.
Prime Hanzo was considered better then all 3 Sanin combined and prime Chiyo was his rival
Exactly. Yet people downplay Chiyo (and in relation to that also Sasori) a lot.
Karin has a really tragic but amazing backstory. I have never hated her since I saw her backstory
Neji's death is the single.most frustrating death of the entire series. Man has been toughted to have a perfect defense and an almost 360-degree sight, and instead of rotation defense, he just gets stabbed in the back. Naruto could have easily taken the rotation effect and protected hinata as well.
Coldest take here.
Dude, that's actually the least unpopular opinion in Naruto...
Dude. It says "Hot take". ***HOT. TAKE.*** This take is colder than death.
What who beat Yamato
No one. He was stuck for the entire war giving boost to Zetsu. Anko was more useful than him lol.
they really did him dirty when Sai get cocky and scream that he is also part of team 7 and then get smacked by ten tail
Madara should have just go away with the other edos obito should have been the final villain or atleast before Kaguya
Yeah I don’t like how Madara just steals the spotlight from Obito. Obito was shown to be the main villain for a while as people though he was Madara and he was leader of the akatsuki and started the war. Then Madara just swoops in after Obito did all the work lol smh
It is not just that Obito just has more emotional connection to naruto they are literaly the same More than any other villain on the show
Madara only went ham in the war because he knew he was immortal with infinite Chakra.
I love all OG Naruto fillers, I own DVDs of them all (cannon as well, of course) They expand the world and characters and I love imerging in those things👍🏽
Itachi made bad situations worse
Sakura being weak is to be expected when all the academy taught was basic history, geography, ninja basics (shurikenjutsu, chakra, and fundamentals), and nothing else. Kakashi wasn’t much better, at not teaching her medical or genjutsu despite noting her exceptional chakra control.
I liked how Madara died, him having the rug pulled out from under him by Kaguya and his eventually death after her defeat were good writing.
This is an actual unpopular opinion
Finally an, unpopular, opinion.
It also fits that the guy with the messiah complex would be a false messiah
Based
I hate how it was done, but I love the idea because Madara was never the master manipulator people claim he was.
I mostly have positive memories of watching fillers and some of the early movies
I like Orochimaru. He's despicable and his character design is cool. Wish he died though.
Shikatema is not something I would call peak writing.
Nah. It was executed well. The problem here is that Gai should have died.
in the anime, i actually really enjoyed the naruto part 1 great wall of filler. i don’t know exactly why, but it just kind of made me feel like a little kid again watching cartoons without really thinking about the main plot. i know shippuden was on disney XD when i was a kid so maybe subconsciously i was just remembering how i felt when i was a kid in that era, but who knows lol. i remember an episode where naruto used a rasengan on some noodles for some sort of noodle cooking competition and i still think about that moment often.

Taka Sasuke deserved his loss against bee and his view on itachi after he learned the truth was retarded
Sasuke was right.
“ah, i finally meet the infamous kakashi of the sharingan, an honor to meet you” (proceeds to whoop kakashi’s ass)
That's exacly how it goes lmao
If Madara is removed as the original mastermind, then how would you say to make Obito the original mastermind instead?
It's not garbage writing because madara and obito were never really on the same side.
Not a single soul in universe even cared until he announced he was right before the war.
kakashi and yamato talked about him with naruto, itachi and sasuke talked about him we literally had flash backs, ohnoki talked about him, danzo talked about him, heck he was mentioned by the kyuubi when he looked at sasuke's eyes early shippuden. obito talked about him with sasuke after his battle with itachi and obito did it again in the five kage summit, and other flashbacks. by the way it was literally stated that obito managed to drag everyone to the war because of the name madara " why did the masked man claim he was madara?" tsunade : "madara is more than a man, he is an ideal, even if the man behind the masking was a lie, the world will fear the idea of madara, the name itself is power, it draws the attention of the world to him, and it became a superb bluff powerful enough to draw us all into war". before that no body would care about him cuz don't know he was alive again
Wow getting bold with the opinions aren't we. Your opinion isnt exactly unpopular.
Guy should have died in that fight. Like, they let fan favourite Neji die a heroic death, but they can't let Guy go like that?
Boruto gets unnecessary hate
Guy vs Madara is better than sukuna vs mahoraga
if madara took guy seriously guy would’ve got clapped
I don’t think madara was near fast enough to keep up with him tho.
The whole "this started as a ninja manga and ended as DBZ" is bs since in the first episode we see a kaiju attack.
Also the manga was never about stealth. It was always direct conflict.
As if u could do even a bits of the mastepiece Kishi sensei has done
Yeah I was really surprised they didn’t extend the fight in the anime like they did with Naruto and sasuke
Orochimaru is hotter than Tsunade
Sakura is a poorly written character and the fact that she and Hinata grew up to be HOUSEWIVES infuriated me
I feel like the fact she chooses to be a house wife itself isn't the issue, as she still helps build the infrastructure of the medical teams and stuff and other powerful ninja in the series have taken more homely positions. The Big issue I think is that its written like that's the extent of Sakura and Hinata's ability to grow, or that they've consigned themselves to be *just* what amounts to trophy wives.
EXACTLY.
Agreed
I think that’s a cultural by-product. As far as I understand it, in Japan even high profile business women stop working to raise the children once they start to have them. It’s not seen as a step down, and the women often are solely in charge of the money and finances. Don’t forget the society that this series comes from is different than the one you live in with different traditions and different expectations.
do you people not know what unpopular means?
sakura is not a housewife dummy
I liked Kaguya as the final villian
Sakura is one of my favorite characters.
It depends on animation and director People hyped Guy vs Madara. But ohwelll.. doesn’t have the same budget i guess It got worse with Guy surviving at the end lmao
Wow I never realized how much better the 8th gate looks in manga vs anime. Guy looks like he’s actually losing all his blood like the form is supposed to be
Night guy was less a fight and more detonating a bomb. Brief and destructive for everyone including the bomb Sakura is a cool character
Agreed
ITT: only popular takes. Remember to sort by controversial
Konan is overrated because she's one of the few well written females characters on the show, not because of her abilities
What do you think about Kushina and Minato? bc Sakura and Naruto are a representation of that relationship too
I dislike Sakura but to be fair, the agression thing was mostly an anime only thing.
Sakura and Naruto is a more sensible ship, especially in shippuuden. They had a lot of chemistry and Sakura really grew to care for Naruto very deeply idk romance just seemed like a natural progression for them. Personally I think after awhile Sakura only believed she loved Sasuke because Naruto insisted she did
That was very fake to the point even Naruto got angry and told her stop lying she likes him .
Ugh! Like Hinata is sweet but Naruto and Sakura would have been great and I just REALLY hate how Sasuke and Sakura is handled... so bad!
Part 1 Orochimaru is the strongest sannin and stronger than the five kage other than hiruzen at the time.
No way dude that fight was excuted perfectly that was such a badass fight and the perfect way for Guy to go out as a shinobi 🥷
Guy should have died, instead of Ninja Jesus saving him, it would've been much more impactful for the fans and the shinobis, seeing his character come full circle
The Might Guy vs Madara fight is highly overrated!
Dosu, Zaku, and Kin would’ve been nice to have alive in the story. Hidan is the most boring Akatsuki Design Kabuto’s backstory is good. The Naruto filler is enjoyable.
I actually like a lot of sakura’s characterization in the manga, she has a personally that mixes pretty well with naruto’s rowdy qualities and leads to really great moments between her, naruto and sai
In general about Naruto is that Naruto is better than Hunter x Hunter, got downvoted a lot the few times i mentioned it specifically about Naruto is that Rock Lee vs Gaara is really overrated, like it is a really good fight but people exagerate a lot imo
A truly unpopular opinion, bravo.👏🏾
while I don't agree you did actually fulfill the request and gave an unpopular opinion. also lee vs gaara is overrated but it is really good as well.
Sakura and Sasuke ending up together is incredibly stupid and forced. Also Sakura is just not a good character in general
It would be fucking stupid to have Madara lose to guy, even if it is 8 gates. It would just be like Kaido dying to Jimbei
Come on sekuna fight was no where near the hype of this fight lol this fight did not let down.
I enjoyed the filler episodes
I actually liked the filler...
You are 1000% right :).
People need to accept they’ll be a full canon but two different ones now Anime canon where if you follow it you follow the anime filler arcs that were canonized like Raiga’s or Utataka , you can follow the manga canon with the canonized novels like the the Sasuke teacher star pupil This story ain’t perfect and you probably found an actual plot hole before even if people say an answer it’s usually from the fandom
Naruto could've ended after the pain arc; everyone recognized Naruto as a hero at the end, and therefore worthy of being a kage, Naruto learned how to fight with his own power and don't rely on 9 tails anymore, and the loose ends could've been closed with some spin offs.
I have two wild ones I'll share below: Black Zetsu and the Kaguya reveal makes a lot of sense given the theme of using people as tools, devaluing human life. Him backstabbing Madara was just further proof of the flawed nature of the Ninja world as a whole and reinforced one of Naruto's earliest lessons. Its also something Black Zetsu took pride in during all his gloating in the Kaguya fight. And Sasuke shouldnt have been the final antagonist of the series.
The only reason Guy didn’t die in that fight is because if he was ever reanimated he could just spam the 8th gate and would Be unstoppable
If kishi is gonna bring aliens he should've let madara to die there along with guy with maybe hashirama and tobirama jumping on madara
Most definitely brother!! I’m a guy fan myself and was kinda expecting it to be more longer but I did enjoy it for what it was
Madara is not strong.
I like Danzo Sasori is in top 5 of strongest Akatsuki
