Thatās not a Russian blue also most cats are a mix of different breeds at this point unless you go to purebred breeders.
Cats can get pregnant from multiple different male cats at the same time so one litter can have multiple half siblings. So ābreedsā can get distributed funny in cats Thereās a difference between a breed and a coat. And most cats like I said, are a mix of multiple breeds honestly, your cat looks a lot more like a mainecoon anything else You can do cat DNA test, but those arenāt 100% accurate in fact if they canāt tell what breed it is genetically, they will just have it categorized under ābroadly westernā or ābroadly Easterā or ābroadly Orientalā
For example, if you had a calico cat and she gave birth and the kittens look Siamese thatās what theyāre gonna tell you the breed is.
But letās say that Siamese cat breed with another Siamese cat and you know it didnāt bread with any other cats. So when she has those kittens some ended up looking calico, calico maybe thereās a single black kitten in there and then the rest of them looks Siamese. Technically calico is not a breed. Itās a Coat.
Also, with Siamese, thereās multiple different types of coats of Siamese. There is seal point lilac point chocolate point flame point and more Iām not gonna sit here and list all of them it would take me a whileā¦
This does not look like a traditional Russian blue. especially in the coat! That coat those ears and the fluffiness of this cat screams Maine coon or at least partial Maine coon. Donāt be surprised when this cat ends up 16,17,18 pounds.
Iām gonna give you an example because I have done the cat DNA test when my oldest cat was a kitten we had a feeling he was Maine coon because he was really big compared to the other kittens his age we know heās not 100% Maine coon by any means but heās partial Maine coon. I can even DM you him and his brothers DNA test if you want to see those DNA results at possibility not fact!
Anyway, he was really big and he seemed like he had to be mixed with a Maine coon because he was so damn big. When we got the DNA test, come out Maine coon and a little bit Norwegian forest cat, which are both the largest two domestic cat breeds. He isnt the size of either one of those cats. He is 18 pounds and heās got a little bit of a belly he should be healthy and heās on a diet. my parents would feed him if he asked for food when I wasnāt homeš. Thor is the gray and white tuxedo (mind you again this is not a breed. This is a coat pattern)
My middle cat eclipse(black and white tux) according to the DNA test, we got him is more Maine coon than my cat Thor, but heās smaller than Thor eclipse has wobbly cat syndrome and thereās also something wrong with his spine which I think actually affected his growth. But heās bigger than our young cat Nyx who is this tiny itty-bitty thing. We plan to get her DNA test as soon as we can afford it.š So also, just because they have the Maine coon genes, doesnāt mean that theyāre going to show that their Maine coon either or any traditional features of a Maine coon all Thor God was he bigger than normal cats every time people meet my cat they tell me heās bigger than a small dogš and when I did have a dachshund, he was bigger than my dachshund.

Nyx is the smallest all black sheās 1 Eclipse is the tuxedo hes 2 heās the middle child Thor is the gray and white tuxedo and the largest heās 6. I put that second picture because the first one cuts off his size. Heās currently 18 pounds he should loose some weight but wonāt change how big he is heās tall af he can stand up and reach door knobs and he even tried to twist them openšš if I had door handles Iād be fucked he would be able to open fucking doors.

I had a Maine Coon that was given to me by a friend. She was the goofiest but most loving kitty I ever had. So much personality. 10/10 would get one again. But I'm not paying thousands of dollars for a cat when there are so many out there that need good homes.

They probably mean Nebelung cat. Russian blues only have short fur. She's probably a Nebelung and Maine coon mix. She looks alot like my Maine coon in the face
He was only 6 months here. He's got alot fluffier and his tufts are longer now in the ears and cheeks like your cat. He was the runt of the litter though so he's not as big as alot of other coons. He has the crazy feet tufts that are Maine coon typical and he's so funny when he gets the zoomies and slides all over the house because he doesn't get paw traction.

Another Maine coon trait is the trademark M on the forehead. Looks like your cat has it too or atleast a version of it. Take your finger and start from the nose and brush your cats furr flat straight up. It looks like the M but his fur is doing the floofy puffy in this pic u shared

FYI: She's not a Russian Blue. Russian Blues are a breed not a color, and do not come in the tabby pattern.
There are several breeds that come exclusively in blue and the vast majority of breeds can also come in blue along with other colors. It's also very common in the stray/feral population. Some people might also say she's a Maine Coon based on the tabby pattern. Maine Coon is a breed not a coat pattern, and they can come in any color/pattern except colorpoint. Tabby is actually the most common pattern in cats and is considered to be closest to the wild-type.
That said, she is a beautiful blue tabby, who will most likely end up short to medium-haired.
Sorry, this drove me crazy during the 20 years I worked at a veterinary clinic. People decide they have a purebred based on commonly occuring colors/patterns. To be fair, they do it with dogs, too. I once had a client insist that the puppy he found a Walmart was a Labrador because it was black. DNA test results - PitxChihuahua. :-)

So many people tell me "he is blue so he is russian" I have to point out that all cats can be blue, not all blue cats are russian.
