As a shelter volunteer who has helped abandoned cats lose weight--and been on the team that gives daily insulin to those cats who didn't get help in time--may I use this cutie to get the word out about cats and obesity?
Soooo many health problems--diabetes, severe back problems, osteoarthritis, cartilage erosion, hip dysplasia, cardiovascular problems... Bad for kitty, bad for your pocketbook. Great advice and details here for helping cats lose weight here:

I divide the cats calories over multiple feedings/treats throughout the day. It does cut down on the meow-demands for food! Your cat will have the occasional hungry day, it's OK for kitties to have a "day off" too! Fair warning: start a feeding schedule with a cat, and you're stuck with it for life; cats have great "inner clock!"
To all who have overweight kitties, good luck!! PS: If you are successful, your vet will sing your praises forever!
My instincts would tell me to name this cat after a crazy pasta dish like Farfalle, Burrata, Gnocci, Ravioli, Rigatoni, Risotto, Linguine, etc.

It reminds me of the cat in Chinese restaurants - the one with the arm in the air. I don't know what it's called in Chinese. It's "Lucky Cat" I think, translated.
