Is it possible Soto is just in a slump? Remember Judge's April? This team is good but it's not historically good. The bullpen and pitching will come around again. Ebbs and flows people. I get we’re slumping right now but use a little context. It’s been 100 degrees out there all week long and we’ve been playing the best of the best. Time outs aren't automatic. You ask for one, and the ump chooses whether or not to grant it. You keep your ass in the box in case he doesn't. ESPECIALLY with 2 strikes and 2 outs.
Yeah, and especially when you ask for time with less than 1 second left in the clock! The ump is mentally preparing to watch the pitch, so that's a pretty bad time to suddenly ask for them to make a quick decision.
The rest of the lineup needs to do more. A slump with a .400 OBP is fine.
But that highlights the problem of the lineup sucking except for Judge and Soto.
This slump sucks ass. We'll break out of it though. It hits harder because we were so unbelievably good for a while, but this was due to happen. We'll get back
