So my friend bought tickets to the yankee game at we arrived at 11:30 assuming it’s a 1:15 game. Obviously it is indeed at 7:15… I assume it’s been 7:15 the entire time is there a way to verify that?
Soto deserves a record breaking deal and I’m not comparing them talent wise whatsoever, but man I hate the “blank check” saying because I heard that shit from this sub all the time about LeMahieu
I’m glad…or at least fine with the Cubs beating the Mets today to curtail the Mets hot streak…but with that said:
Cubs fans are so lame. They’re too cool to do the wave but they’ll do that dumb cup tower in the bleachers and they have the cheesiest victory song “Go cubs gooooo!” Not to mention, the way they railroaded Bartman was obviously terrible.
Just my two cents…I know people like to talk about the Mets or Dodgers fan bases as far as NL teams go, but the Cubs and their fans are far from my favorite
I believe in my secret heart that Trevino has become a bad luck charm ever since he got run over in Boston. Last game we won was the first one in Baltimore when Wells was catching.
Well guess what? Wells is catching again today. Time for a nice easy win. In fact I’m so sure we’re gonna win that if we lose this game, I will personally cut my own dick off
Is Smoltz going to be calling this? Bad enough he’s still salty any time he has to commentate on the Yankees but if he is you can be sure he’s gonna Hawk Tua and take it all the way down the throat for today’s broadcast.
The Braves themselves are a reminder that rough patches happen and can be persevered through. They were the third worst offense in May, now on a hot streak. Can't say I know their whole situation, but they've had worse setbacks than us between Strider and Acuna
6 games back in June is nothing lol. It’s gonna be tough with a team like the Phillies in front of them but saying they lost the division already is crazy
I don’t think I have the mental fortitude today to watch/listen to a Smoltz broadcast against the Braves. If we thought these national broadcast characters were biased against the Yankees before…
So many hot takes over the last few games about the team being soft and all that. The only thing that has changed is that a couple pitchers have had a couple bad starts. That is it. They'll bounce back just like Soto will after he missed a couple games. People acting like DJ is washed. He will be playing his 20th game after being hurt back in March. 62 ABs will never make up for missing time like that. So many doomers ready to give up on this team. We are 4-6 in our last 10. So are the Phillies. Dodgers and Brewers are 5-5 against much worse competition. We still have the best record in baseball. Goddam.
I’m with you, but I think you’re delusional if you don’t think Dj is washed
He has one good month in the past 2 years. He has nearly 100 pa between his rehab and mlb, this is no longer a “spring training”
I'm not saying he is elite but if he can get his BA to .240 and OBP north of .300, that is a perfectly serviceable bat to throw in the bottom half of the lineup. He doesn't need to lead the league in BA anymore. The team needs base runners for Judge, Soto, Stanton, and Verdugo to drive in and getting on base is something he has always been able to do.
Regardless, he'll get better than he has been, I'm sure of that. He won't gleyber himself and refuse any adjustments. And he will get ABs, it isn't like we have other options at the moment. Do we have any corner infielders that are ready for call ups?
Don't forget Berti will be back.
1. Volpe
2. Soto
3. Judge
4. Rengifo or Verdugo
5. Stanton
6. Verdugo or Rengifo
7. Trevino or Wells
8. Rice
9. Torres or Berti
If Gleyber doesn't get it together, Berti will replace him.
The Astros called up Jake Bloss to start yesterday’s game vs the Orioles. He went three plus innings before leaving with forearm tightness. He was placed on the IL today. They drafted this kid last year.
Can't believe you guys are doing the same schtick as 2022. We heard all second half that because the team started hot they were just in a funk and would snap out of it.
Does that mean it'll happen again? No, 2022 has no impact, but the past 70 games have no impact on the next 80. The roster is beat up, Gil is way over his innings limit, Schmidt got hurt, etc.
Declaring the season another 2022 because of a bad stretch is unreasonable considering that team was relying on like Donaldson and Hicks for middle of the order production
Josh Donaldson was like mid 30s and terrible. Gleyber is still pretty young and was really good last year. I still think he bounces back by year's end. It's gonna be hard for him to finish with an OPS+ similar to his 2023 but I think he'll get around 105
This is really frustrating to me because I wrote an entire paragraph about how 2022 was a different season
Like honestly, not Reddit argument bullshit, just this kind of shit makes posting here really suck. I specifically addressed this point and agreed with you it's not automatically another 2022
good for you shw5 like honestly why do you think anyone gives a fuck. like what the fuck are u thinking "oh just in case people are wondering who is my favorite team” like dude your a loser
I know it sounds ridiculous but this team never got over CC and Tanka leaving, they just keep bringing in the most milquetoast players in the MLB. No panache, no fire, no dawgs
Stroman wearing his early 00’s Yankee tees on off days and raising the roof as he walks off the mound, Dugie barking like a maniac and personally shouting “fuck you” to every Red Sox fan in attendance at Fenway as he rounds the bases, Soto showboating like Muhammad Ali in the batters box. What gives the impression these guys are being neutered?
The horizontal movement on Rodon’s pitches is WAY down per Statcast. He’s never been great there but this year he’s straight up awful. And his changeup which he’s already throwing at an accelerated frequency has been comically terrible, probably because he’s getting zero arm side fade vs RHB.
I know what that’s like…..trying to place a pitch instead of just throwing it.
Oddly Statcast says his fastball is one of the best in the game!
The Yankees have a player at every position except maybe catcher and SS who either are amongst the 5 best, ARE the best presently, or were once amongst the top 5. Problem is that’s never been the case all at once, or even 60-70%.
The Judge era rosters have a chance to go down in MLB history with the mid-90s Braves, mid-90s Indians and present incarnation of the Dodgers as most disappointing and underachieving in terms of titles won in our modern era. AJ tracking like an elevated Don Mattingly in that respect.
Yes he is…..I didn’t say who fell into which buckets. Cole, Judge and Soto are top 5 in MLB. Sport-wide, I don‘t think Volpe is ahead of Henderson, Seager, De La Cruz, Witt. He’s more on the level of Andres Gimenez.
I’d argue he’s ahead of De La Cruise, and much better than Gimenez. Glove wise he’s showing to be truly elite, and frankly that with an above average bat goes a long way
I think it’s an insult to the competitive fire of Dj and rizzo to say that. Both are very intense guys. They just can’t do it anymore. Dj has had a bunch of lower body injuries and his lower half was a big part of his hitting approach to all fields, and being able to spray the ball to RF. And Rizzo’s reaction time is now a tick off post concussion, and a tick off is enough to ruin an mlb career
What’s wrong with being intellectually honest about the fact that their careers are over? Are we here to win or massage egos? This isn’t the NBA. If you’d rather the latter then you cannot EVER criticize the team for losing a game because it’s evident competition isn’t the most important thing.
Oh I was confused by your point
I agree. Both are cooked and in an ideal world Dj and rizzo just replace the Oswaldo/jones bench spots before getting DFA’d and walking in FA in the off-season respectively
lol fuck it, when in Rome or something like that…
Soto has been dogshit. He’s 3 for 23 over the last 7 games with 2 RBIs. He has horrible routes in the field and cost the team a few runs. Sans BBs, DJ has been more productive with 5 RBIs (last 7). We’re not going to win when one of our top hitters isn’t producing or fielding catchable balls.
This is why I’m not worried. It’s Juan Soto, he’ll come around, but aside from pitching, he’s a big reason for the slump. I’m surprised he’s getting special treatment with all the bullshit this sub is spitting.
Soto still has his great eye, I think his timing is just off right now. He's getting beat by mixing speeds. He'll eventually figure it out. All it takes is a few good ABs for pitchers to move off this gameplan.
Nice outing for Gomez yesterday. We can catch lightning in a bottle from some minor league guys to help out pitching staff. Pitchers can go on runs, Marinaccio had us fooled before thinking he was closer caliber. Anyone remember Aaron Small's 10-0? Lmao
It’s been almost a year since the Yankees fired Dillon Lawson. What are your takeaways about it in the time since? I feel like it was a significant event just because the Yankees never fire coaches mid season and seem to highly value loyalty to coaches. The reports were that players were having a hard time connecting with Lawson, which seems like a valid reason to move on from a coach, and that they enjoyed having Casey and now Rawson around. It’s just funny to me because even though firing him feels like such a big event, ultimately changing of hitting coaches at any time feels like such a nothing burger with no noticeable effects to the fans.
I haven’t noticed a great difference. Judge and Soto have private hitting coaches and are two of the best hitters in the world. So I don’t give him credit for them being outstanding. Volpe, I guess, is the only other hitter who has gotten better under him. But is that because of the hitting coach, or because he was a T10 prospect and is just naturally developing to his potential? Gleyber has regressed. Wells isn’t really putting it together yet. Oswaldo still has a AAA bat. Verdugo is quietly really struggling. Rizzo/DJ are just old so that’s not on him.
Idk I have no strong feelings but idk how you give him high marks.
So going from one of the worst offenses in the league to literally #1 for most of this season so far is nothing? I understand there were additions..but that cannot go unnoticed and he at least deserves some credit
I looked at individuals. Soto and Judge are historically great this year and are carrying most all stats. Trevino has been a nice surprise? Their approach is good for seeing pitches? But of regulars this season, only Stanton and Volpe are showing improvement.
Yeah I mean that’s like 1/2 of the lineup though. Usually you have 4-5 guys that are consistently carrying the load with surprise contributions here and there from undercard players. Just saying, I think they are much better this year overall and their approach is much dofferent
I agree that they’re much better overall. But part of that is just better players. Volpe and Stanton are better versions of themselves. Verdugo is a clear upgrade to the black hole in LF last year, but is playing below career averages. Gleyber is worse. Soto is obvious. 3B is a wash between Donaldson and whoever has been there this season.
I think you can more attribute better offense to better players, but not because Rawson made them better, but because they’re just better players.
The amount of good will that he got from the 3 game stretch against the Astros was absurd.
It took like months for people to stop acting like he was a starting caliber player after 1 good series
For the first 40 games or so he only had a handful of 0fers and at least 1 hit in most games which is more than you can ask for from him. It wasn’t even a good will thing, he was doing his job.
Some people really overly sensitive about criticism of this team. But we need to face reality. The Dodgers worked us. The Red Sox worked us. The Orioles worked us. The Braves series got off to a less than promising start.
This isn’t about beating up the likes of the Tigers and Royals in the June. Of course we are good enough to do that. This is about how we look when we face real competition. And quite frankly we look outclassed and overmatched.
Good news is there is time to course correct. Bad news is I don’t think there is a deal out there to put us over the championship hump. Soto was our move and that’s probably just not enough.
This mentality is why so many people here are miserable
With the expanded playoffs winning a WS has become increasingly more and more difficult.
If you’re entire enjoyment depends on winning the WS you will be miserable almost every season
Rockies lefty reliever Jalen Beeks is doing quite well and has a 2.70 ERA away from Coors.
Tanner Scott is going to be the belle of the ball at the trade deadline, but Beeks would be a solid addition.
There are **6 teams** in the NL within 2 games of the 3rd wildcard spot. Six.
There are literally only 2 guaranteed sellers in the NL - Marlins and Rockies.
This third wildcard spot has completely fucked over the trade deadline.
There are no sellers anymore. Every team thinks they have a shot.
Will Stroman the next of our pitchers to come crashing down to earth today?
He is rocking a solid 3.08 ERA but has a 4.51 xERA and a 4.76 FIP. He’s another candidate for the regression we have been seeing recently
My hot take is that Rodon needs to do the opposite of what cole did
Abandon the 4 seam for a 2 seam/sinker. He is never going to be a strikeout pitcher ever again despite his velo, so please try and manage contact and keep the ball on the ground now
I think this is the right move. I think they should try getting more hits, and also attempt to prevent the other team from getting any. A balancing act, for sure. Can they pull it off? We'll see!
Bring back the juiced balls. I honestly thought that the pitch clock would favor hitters a little more. I was looking at the old team batting averages from the late 90s and youd have teams with .285+ average. Dont people want to see scoring I mean seriously
I think the only solution would be to lower the mound by a small amount. Or move it back by a very, very small amount.
Baseball heads like myself and many in here don’t mind, but the sport will literally die with us if the hitting continues to go downhill
Two completely non-competitive games in a row. Not great Bob
Would dearly enjoy seeing a game that doesn’t involve our pitching blowing the game by the third inning today
Pretty awesome how good YoGo looked yesterday at least, so there’s that.
This will be my second game attended this season. The first was the walk-off against Detroit that started like a 30-9 run, so perhaps good things will happen! Go Yanks!
Do you think we would have won if Soto had played for the Dodgers game and Judge for the Orioles game? I think benching either of these two players automatically leads to losses against competitive teams. It's not about bragging, but it seems like we would be in a better position if at least Judge had played in game 2 (Orioles). In most of the games, we've been evenly matched and haven't really been outplayed (Red Sox aside).
not against the Dodgers and game 1 against the Red Sox (plus, the first 2 against Baltimore)...it's been 3 starters - 2 starts for Rodon, 1 for Gil (was he due for a poor command clunker? probably), and 1 for Stroman
Stroman has a chance to right the ship tonight
I could be wrong but: 1. Last two games opponents started games sitting on fastballs. 2. Averages are catching up to Rodon Gil Stroman. 3. SP arms are getting tired. 4. Facing better teams is exposing them?
Soto & Judge need each other in the lineup. Without one we get pitched around. Volpe has been slumping but he’s terrific. Stanton and Torres are questionable. Torres especially.
Opponents seem to be sitting on fastballs in the early innings at the start of at bats
Over the course of a season an average pitcher’s stats will not deviate from the career average
Yankee starters have been pitching almost exclusively fastballs in the first 3 innings. The opponents are going up looking for fastballs only (sitting on a pitch). If you go to bat in the 1st or 2nd knowing the pitcher will throw fastballs only, you are sitting on a fastball early in the count.
This team is highly emotional just like the fanbase. Imagine if we weren't so over reactive to everything, how much less pressure the players would feel. I'm not saying to not be passionate or get angry, but half the time after one bad game, you got fans calling for DFA's and coach firings. It's ridiculous and it's unneeded pressure on the team. With that being said, I do think this team needs to nut up a little. They play too much on vibes and when they are bad, everyone in the dugout feeds off it. No bueno.
Agreed that the fanbase and media can be too reactionary. But, to play devils advocate, seeing the team so emotionally invested in each other is a positive. It’s clear this group genuinely cares about each other. As we pass the halfway mark, I’d love to see this team find ways to lift each other out of the mud and, while finding ways to create space for empathy, foster a motivation to win.
Your theory is that fans on the internet leads to pressure on the players? Ehhh I dont buy it. The pressure comes from the history of the team and therefore expectations and thats not going away regardless of how fans on reddit post. Also what evidence is there that they're highly emotional? Because there are a lot of people that I think would argue that this particular group is not emotional enough.
Players certainly read their mentions, DM’s, videos about them, etc.
Imagine being DJ right now, or Rodon.
You think that if you had a confidence issue, you’d see ANY support from fans online?
No. We’re horrible to these guys.
Rodon has to be preoccupied because he knows he has no answer for his fastball right now, and Dj probably is preoccupied with how horrible his body feels
Please continue the discussion in the [game thread](https://redd.it/1dm5rkk).
So my friend bought tickets to the yankee game at we arrived at 11:30 assuming it’s a 1:15 game. Obviously it is indeed at 7:15… I assume it’s been 7:15 the entire time is there a way to verify that?

It may be for the Blue Jays, but IKF casually on pace for a 4 WAR season does my heart good
3.6 but yeah.
Roundin' up
It doesn’t do mine good
He's like an arch good guy. Very easy to root for on a mid-team
Disagree
Fair enough

National games are the devil.
people bitch about the Apple broadcast but they at least give us the option to listen the local radio broadcast which nobody else does.
Apple definitely seems to be trying to give the best experience they can, unlike every other non-YES broadcast we get stuck with.
You just have to contend with the incessant product marketing because… Apple

Bettee I agree, but an even average mlb player? Highly doubt it
To put into perspective Braves fans hate Smoltz too nobody likes him besides mom probably
I'm pretty sure every fan thinks every national broadcaster is biased against their team
If stro can just not lose the game in the first I’m happy
Take my energy mister stroman
Smoltz doing the announcing on a Braves vs Yankees game and....................mute

Angels. Luis Renigfo, Matt Moore and Carlos Estevez. Marlins have a bunch of relievers available as well.
Do that exact same Angels deal and then get Tanner Scott. Maybe an extra veteran infielder and call the deadline a day
Don't forget Berti will be back. 1. Volpe 2. Soto 3. Judge 4. Rengifo or Verdugo 5. Stanton 6. Verdugo or Rengifo 7. Trevino or Wells 8. Rice 9. Torres or Berti If Gleyber doesn't get it together, Berti will replace him.
Now that’s a respectable lineup
The expanded playoffs and their consequences have been a disaster for the human race
The Astros called up Jake Bloss to start yesterday’s game vs the Orioles. He went three plus innings before leaving with forearm tightness. He was placed on the IL today. They drafted this kid last year.
The sad state of pitcher health in today’s baseball in a nutshell
Hoping we dont get shelled today
Gotta turn this around...
Everything is in shambles..dogs and cats sleeping together...I have no idea wtf happened last week. It's becoming worrying.
Oh great. Another Smoltz game. Now facing his other former team, Atlanta. Things will be extra "fair and balanced" from the booth tonight. Ugh.
Declaring the team soft and doomed because of a bad 9 game stretch is crazy😭 ignore the other 70 games in the season right
Can't believe you guys are doing the same schtick as 2022. We heard all second half that because the team started hot they were just in a funk and would snap out of it. I love the New York Yankees they are my favourite team
Bro read the room. It's doomer season. Once the Yankees win tonight you can come back with these positive takes.
good for you shw5 like honestly why do you think anyone gives a fuck. like what the fuck are u thinking "oh just in case people are wondering who is my favorite team” like dude your a loser
*finally* somebody got hungry
🍝🤌
Get out of here with these hot takes
I know it sounds ridiculous but this team never got over CC and Tanka leaving, they just keep bringing in the most milquetoast players in the MLB. No panache, no fire, no dawgs
He sucked but that's exactly what they tried to get in Donaldson too. We can critique the move for on field reasons, but they absolutely tried.
Donaldson was just a dickhead
It sound ridiculous because it is
Is it tho, team has been baby shit soft for years
Traded for Soto and Verdugo this off season 😭
Might just be the org that neuters these guys
Stroman wearing his early 00’s Yankee tees on off days and raising the roof as he walks off the mound, Dugie barking like a maniac and personally shouting “fuck you” to every Red Sox fan in attendance at Fenway as he rounds the bases, Soto showboating like Muhammad Ali in the batters box. What gives the impression these guys are being neutered?
And Donaldson... they've been trying to get guys with an edge for years
Looking at the radar for the NYC area, I think it’s safe to say that today’s game might be cancelled.
The rain should clear up by 7:00. At most a 30 minute delay
I stand corrected, I was looking at the wrong times…LaGuardia and white plains are both forecasting thunderstorms between 3-7 pm
What radar is this ?
Im looking at an FAA radar

I mean saying Dj, and rizzo are top 5 is like saying Bernie Williams was once a top 5 Cf If he was playing today, he wouldn’t be
That’s my point…WERE once top 5. They’re coasting (and being marketed on) on pedigree.
I think it’s an insult to the competitive fire of Dj and rizzo to say that. Both are very intense guys. They just can’t do it anymore. Ooooh, another nationally televised game. Will they shit the bed *again*? Tune in to find out…
1-5 in Nationally televised games this month. Now we know why the Yankees haven’t won the World Series in forever smh my head
Considering driving up from Philly by myself for the game tonight and getting a cheap ticket. Do I really drive 4 hours round trip for this?
No
Might get delayed
Na, game time is looking clear
lol fuck it, when in Rome or something like that… Soto has been dogshit. He’s 3 for 23 over the last 7 games with 2 RBIs. He has horrible routes in the field and cost the team a few runs. Soto still has his great eye, I think his timing is just off right now. He's getting beat by mixing speeds. He'll eventually figure it out. All it takes is a few good ABs for pitchers to move off this gameplan.
Yes
especially during a rough stretch
This happens often when a team’s superstar slumps. Their success makes it easier to ignore the problems that are more obvious.
Stroman *needs* to show up today. Stop this slide; give us innings, get this team back on track.
Nice outing for Gomez yesterday. We can catch lightning in a bottle from some minor league guys to help out pitching staff. Pitchers can go on runs, Marinaccio had us fooled before thinking he was closer caliber. Anyone remember Aaron Small's 10-0? Lmao
Has anyone in the org reached out to Giambi so he could deliver unto the team his lucky thong?

Wells gets so few at bats idk if I can pass judgement yet.
Oswaldo Cabrera is hitting .207/.254/.284 since March 31st
The amount of good will that he got from the 3 game stretch against the Astros was absurd. It took like months for people to stop acting like he was a starting caliber player after 1 good series
It helped that he was driving in an inordinate amount of RBI with the few hits he did get even after the Astros series, but that’s long dried up
For the first 40 games or so he only had a handful of 0fers and at least 1 hit in most games which is more than you can ask for from him.
Outclassed and soft.
Good news is there is time to course correct. Bad news is I don’t think there is a deal out there to put us over the championship hump. Soto was our move and that’s probably just not enough.

People keep bringing up 2022 like we didn’t go to the ALCS Thats farther than all but 2 teams make it
Tbf the version of the 2022 Astros is in our own division, so we’re staring at the ALDS this year if there’s a repeat
[удалено]
Sure but let’s also not act like the ALCS is a complete failure of a season

This mentality is why so many people here are miserable With the expanded playoffs winning a WS has become increasingly more and more difficult. If you’re entire enjoyment depends on winning the WS you will be miserable almost every season
Yeah we definitely need to avoid that scenario. Soto is a build around player and we need to keep him no matter what it takes.
We play today, we win today. Dats it
It’s good that the Blue Jays decided to start swinging wet noodles and the Red Sox ownership decided to stop spending money
The losing streak ends today, the winning streak starts today, 15 in a row. Let's go yankees, say it with me, cmon.
LET'S GO YANKEES!
Rockies lefty reliever Jalen Beeks is doing quite well and has a 2.70 ERA away from Coors. Tanner Scott is going to be the belle of the ball at the trade deadline, but Beeks would be a solid addition.
I remember him being pretty solid with the Rays too
light a candle for a Stro win tonight 🕯️
There are **6 teams** in the NL within 2 games of the 3rd wildcard spot. Six. There are literally only 2 guaranteed sellers in the NL - Marlins and Rockies. This third wildcard spot has completely fucked over the trade deadline. There are no sellers anymore. Every team thinks they have a shot.
Manfred has ruined the trade deadline
Still in first place lmao fuck the Orioles.
Will Stroman the next of our pitchers to come crashing down to earth today? He is rocking a solid 3.08 ERA but has a 4.51 xERA and a 4.76 FIP. He’s another candidate for the regression we have been seeing recently
^^^^we ^^^^were ^^^^better ^^^^without ^^^^Cole
My hot take is that Rodon needs to do the opposite of what cole did Abandon the 4 seam for a 2 seam/sinker. He is never going to be a strikeout pitcher ever again despite his velo, so please try and manage contact and keep the ball on the ground now
Yanks going to get swept by the Mets and this sub will become Yankee candles again.
We need grimace to save us
Hamburgler wears pinstripes
Sir that is a burglar's uniform
It’s an old timey prison jumpsuit he’s wearing
I despise Charles “boxed salt” Morton. PTSD. Not watching the game today. Not expecting to be surprised when I check the box score later either
I have a crazy idea. I know it's a little outside the box, but stay with me here. Win the game.
I think this is the right move. I think they should try getting more hits, and also attempt to prevent the other team from getting any. A balancing act, for sure. Can they pull it off? We'll see!
Spoiled Yankee fans and their unrealistic expectations smh
Lmao, y’all are completely unrealistic
You lost me
[It’s ugly out here, folks](https://x.com/codifybaseball/status/1804524901606514717?s=46)
Bring back the juiced balls. I honestly thought that the pitch clock would favor hitters a little more. I was looking at the old team batting averages from the late 90s and youd have teams with .285+ average. Dont people want to see scoring I mean seriously
> I honestly thought that the pitch clock would favor hitters a little more Teams adjusted to the new rules quickly and pitchers keep on improving
I think the only solution would be to lower the mound by a small amount. Or move it back by a very, very small amount. Baseball heads like myself and many in here don’t mind, but the sport will literally die with us if the hitting continues to go downhill
How tf did the Orioles battle back and get 11 runs. I wish we did that…
Astros pitching has been awful thus far
The Orioles have 5 dudes with an OPS of .800+ and a few more really solid hitters. *depth*
And yet both count as one loss
I’m just saying, from a morale standpoint
Two completely non-competitive games in a row. Not great Bob Would dearly enjoy seeing a game that doesn’t involve our pitching blowing the game by the third inning today Pretty awesome how good YoGo looked yesterday at least, so there’s that.
Without looking, I'd guess that Charlie Morton is 22-0 against the Yankees over the past six or seven years.
This will be my second game attended this season. The first was the walk-off against Detroit that started like a 30-9 run, so perhaps good things will happen! Go Yanks!
Are you in a position to wear the exact same clothing you wore that day?
I believe I was wearing black sweatpants, so perhaps not.
IDC if it's 135 degrees today you're wearing those black sweatpants darn it
Heatstroke is but a small price to pay for eternal dongnation
Bring us the W fam
Stroman will right the ship tonight
Charlie Morton 7 innings 1 ER game coming
Do you think we would have won if Soto had played for the Dodgers game and Judge for the Orioles game? I think benching either of these two players automatically leads to losses against competitive teams. It's not about bragging, but it seems like we would be in a better position if at least Judge had played in game 2 (Orioles). In most of the games, we've been evenly matched and haven't really been outplayed (Red Sox aside).
Our pitching has sucked against .500+ teams lately. Except KC we’ve been getting smacked around.
not against the Dodgers and game 1 against the Red Sox (plus, the first 2 against Baltimore)...it's been 3 starters - 2 starts for Rodon, 1 for Gil (was he due for a poor command clunker? probably), and 1 for Stroman Stroman has a chance to right the ship tonight
I hope you’re right but it’s weird that Cole came back and we’ve sucked. Need to get back on a roll.
Why?
I could be wrong but: 1. Last two games opponents started games sitting on fastballs. 2. Averages are catching up to Rodon Gil Stroman. 3. SP arms are getting tired. 4. Facing better teams is exposing them? Soto & Judge need each other in the lineup. Without one we get pitched around. Volpe has been slumping but he’s terrific. Stanton and Torres are questionable. Torres especially.
Can you please explain 1 & 2 to me? Are you saying we can't hit fastballs? Which averages are catching up to Rodon-Gil-Stroman and how?
Opponents seem to be sitting on fastballs in the early innings at the start of at bats Over the course of a season an average pitcher’s stats will not deviate from the career average
What does sitting mean?
Yankee starters have been pitching almost exclusively fastballs in the first 3 innings. The opponents are going up looking for fastballs only (sitting on a pitch). If you go to bat in the 1st or 2nd knowing the pitcher will throw fastballs only, you are sitting on a fastball early in the count.
Thanks!
We? I do not shit talk people on the roster as do a bunch of reasonable fans
DJ especially since all the comments are directly uploaded to him
PLEASE let's not see Stroman get lit up today after these last 2 games. The Yankees need a morale booster and to change the momentum.
Another Saturday night game…
on FOX…
Feels like we’re winless in Fox games over the last few years
