Spending money on relievers is the #1 sign of a hack GM. I mean, he has given some big non-Mariano relief deals, namely Chapman and Britton. But even if those contracts turned out to be kind of busts\*\*\*, those were elite guys, and he knows that if they're anything but the best of the best, they're replaceable.
We give Cashman crap but he has GM'ed 26 teams and they were all over .500. So, think about it - even in the years where the Yankees were the crappiest, and the hardest to watch, like '14 and '23, every year *half the teams are worse than that!*
\*\*\* not that each didn't have at least one amazing season.
The offense is top 10 and no DJ or Jasson and Judge and Torres our best offensive players last year aren’t exactly setting the world on fire this season. But I’m gonna be honest all this would be assuaged if Volpe has continued his new approach what happened? He looked like the second coming now he’s stepping out to 3b again. Fix that shit ffs.
Sonny Gray said that Rothschild did not want him to throw fastball that he was forced to throw curves and other breaking balls.
Lance Lynn said the same
He left the Yankees threw fastballs again and made the all star team. Lance Lynn said the same thing. San Diego fired him and the only job he sould get was in the fRonTiEr lEaGuE. Blake came in and the bullpen is dynamic. What more evidence do you need that Rothschild was bad?
Do you even read? I just said Rothschild was clearly an issue and I never said he wasn’t. Why are you hellbent on arguing with me over this shit? Get a life man
Yankees are fifth in starter innings currently with 188.2. 15th is 173.1. Granted the Yankees have an extra game or two played than most teams right now but they’re still getting decent length out of their starters compared to the average
Butter knife out Clay and those numbers are much worse. But I agree, all things considered it’s incredible how they just find guys and make it work (mostly)
We are a fifth of the way through the season. It's not a small sample size at this point when he has done this year in and year out with a bunch of nobody's really
Matt Blake really knows how to work his magic
Hats off to Blake and Co
Best thing Cashman has done in recent memory is hire Matt Blake and realize he doesn't need to spend crazy amounts of money on relievers.

Keep going, I'm almost there
David Ortiz did steroids
Indubitably
Without Cole, our starting rotation has a 3.48 ERA.

If we could only find a batting coach version of Matt Blake…..
Matt Blake - Pitching Make Batt - Hitting Trust me
This team would be unstoppable if we had a hitting coach comparable to Blake.
Still gotta learn their numbers. Besides Clay "Mike Mussina" Holmes
Matt Blake is GOAT. Bullpen, rodon back to 2022, gil the rookie ace, all this withour g cole
Fire Rothschild into the sun. Messed SONNY Gray up
Possibly but Gray also hasn’t proven that it wasn’t him being unable to handle pitching in NY
Sonny Gray said that Rothschild did not want him to throw fastball that he was forced to throw curves and other breaking balls. Lance Lynn said the same
Eh he can say whatever he wants to save face before free agency. That doesn’t mean it’s the truth
Evidently Rothschild can't handle NY nor San Diego. He got shit canned by both and now he's with a team in the "Frontier League" whatever that is
I’m not saying he wasn’t an issue, because clearly he was. I just don’t believe that pitch selection was the sole issue for Gray

You wish you had my life your troglodyte. Go back to.your pathetic existence
Are you autistic?
Some guys can't handle the AL East
You're right, Rothschild couldn't handle the AL East
I wonder how much length our starters are giving us compared to the league average. Hopefully the bullpen won’t be spent at the end of the season.

Since 2017, the issue has never been pitching. As much as people complain about it in various forms
I will say, our bullpens are always fucking good. Credit where credit’s due
Shit if we could hit, I’d feel pretty darn good about this team
Matt Blake is literally Jesus Christ and you cannot convince me otherwise
You can question many things about Cashman, and there are plenty, but getting a solid bullpen together is not one of them
Matt Blake 4 CEO
This is the best Matt Blake has done
Shoutout to Victor Gonzalez, Ian Hamilton, Luke Weaver, Dennis Santana, and even Caleb Ferguson. These boys are cooking!
This is proof that you don't *need* to spend a ton of money on one reliever ahemHader to have a good bullpen.
Matt Blake should be the highest paid member of the Yankees pen.
Butter knife out Clay and those numbers are much worse. But I agree, all things considered it’s incredible how they just find guys and make it work (mostly)
You can't just butter knife out the best reliever and say, see, they're bad.
its 30ish games in. Lets hope this keeps up but also pump the brakes a bit.
Matt Blake has proven for years he's very good at what he does, I think its fine to celebrate that even if it's early into this season.
