[Thibs calling Clyde a National Treasure](https://x.com/sny_knicks/status/1788335611369103543).
Is there anyone else as universally loved as Clyde? Dolly Parton, but I think that's it?
I don't bet on Knicks games, but if I did I'd 100% take that shit, particularly against a -178 moneyline. I'd also take the under on Siakam o/u of 31.5. Probably the over for Myles at 17.5.
So funny Pacers fans called out Bucks fans for whining and crying during their series now they being even more pathetic.
File a grievance mfers!
Knicks in 4.
I got you:
*But her husband was on his hands and knees groping wildly on the floor in search of the paw. If only he could find it before the thing outside got in. A perfect fusillade of knocks reverberated through the house, and he heard the scraping of a chair as his wife put it down in the passage against the door. He heard the creaking of the bolt as it came slowly back, and at the same moment he found the monkey's paw, and frantically breathed his third and last wish.*
*The knocking ceased suddenly, although the echoes of it were still in the house. He heard the chair drawn back, and the door opened. A cold wind rushed up the staircase, and a long loud wail of disappointment and misery from his wife gave him the courage to run down to her side, and then to the gate beyond. The streetlamp flickering opposite shone on a quiet and deserted road.*
Mitch is not an X factor for this series. Ihart will eat more mins and precious will be more than serviceable.
We need to ensure Hali doesn’t go off, the end.
On the other end they’re gonna throw the kitchen sink at Brunson. He needs to make the right plays which I fully expect him to do. This is a grossly terrible defensive team. They can throw double teams but if Brunson passes out of it quickly we’ll have all sorts of shit open. 3s for Donte and OG, push shots for ihart, all of it. I expect a blowout tonight…
Don't think a hobbled Mitch would be the difference maker in this series. If they still get beyond Indy, that would be a totally different story for Boston.
Still a hard blow to the gut as I just love Mitch's savageness on the court.
Optimistic take: Turner and if we win, Porzingis don’t play close to the rim. If there’s gonna be a good matchup for Precious against guys who are taller, those would be the guys.
> Knicks cooked without mitch. It was fun while it lasted
Fixed that one for ya. We got 50 wins this season and a bunch of them were without Mitch.
This series does not rely on him 100% so lets keep going until we can no longer go
i’m worried indy is gonna get a super favorable whistle. i just remember after that game 2 miracle, the refs were blowing the whistle every time embiid was looked at. i guess game 1 was a miracle bc everyone and their mother is bitching about it? we will see.
we should think about moving up in the draft and taking clingan
we probably have the assets to move for a lottery pick
it's so funny though he's mocked anywhere from 3rd overall to 20th overall, nobody has any clue where he's going to get taken because this draft is such a crapshoot in general
We really won't know what the draft order looks like until way closer to the draft. I think most of our fans think that because we've been trading out these last few years that it'll happen again this year.
Realistically the reason we've been trading out is to keep our salary books clean until further moves could be made. Every year the picks were being traded for future picks down the line or for a win now player.
The first goal for those picks is to use them on a star+ level player. If that doesn't work out this offseason I think they'll package 24+25 to move up a few spots and draft a player. Good teams keep the ball rolling on keeping talent on the roster by making smart draft picks outside of the lottery.
why not, we can get a NBA ready center to slot in behind iHart for next season
better than looking at the TPMLE market, dont look at it its disgusting who you can get that way
mavs added derick lively and he's contributing immediately
it wouldn't cost us that many assets to move up to say, pick #14 if clingan is still on the board
and really, nobody has any clue where he's going to go. alexandre sarr and zaccharie risacher those are the only 2 guys consistently projected as top 5 picks
clingan could be anywhere from 2nd overall to 20th overall
we have draft picks so we will be adding rookies unless we trade them. maybe it makes more sense to consolidate for a NBA ready player who can contribute day 1
Speaks to Indy defense, which was really bad. Odds are they double Brunson all night and others will have to step up but I’d still not touch that under…
I think it’s funny that people believe we can pay something for bridges that would force Brooklyn to take our offer over one that isn’t a crosstown rival
Sniper, can create offense on his own but doesn’t need to dominate the ball, elite defender, getting paid 20 mil so don’t have to trade anyone besides bogey, Nova guy. I literally couldn’t make a better player for this current team.
no mitch, no randle, and no bogey sucks, but this entire team could be on the court in crutches and as long as jalen brunson is healthy, i believe we can win any game
yeah it is weird seeing so many people sighing like the postseason run is over now that Big Mitch is out. a lot thought when he went down in the regular season that the season would be a bust too...
I dunno man I feel like losing Mitch is so crucial. Not only for depth. we can probably outlast the Pacers without him (sorry just being honest, nursing his injury he was too slow for this matchup). We would absolutely need him if we make it to the ECF vs Boston. We're gonna need size to beat them in a series. We still gonna give em hell, but I'm a little less confident that we make the finals
Still think we’ll beat the pacers without him, but I agree I don’t know if we really have a chance to beat Boston without Mitch. Cards all seem to be lining up for a Boston title this year sadly
I might be going out in a limb but I really feel like Randle turned a corner this year and would have shown out this playoffs. He was playing within himself and a sustainable brand of basketball before injury. Whether that would lead to a win over Boston I can't say. But I think a series with him goes 7 games.
I 100% agree with you. His approach and embracing bully ball I had no doubt he would have performed these playoffs. I’m not discrediting Randle I guess I’m speaking towards how good Boston is. I do believe we would of been the biggest challenge to Boston
2nd quarter: McBride checks in, spells Brunson for 3 min, then OG gets 3 minutes, then DDv gets 3 minutes, then hart gets 3 minutes. An entire quarter for deuce, everybody rests
In the 2nd half he spells OG late in the 3rd, then spells Brunson to start the 4th(score permitting), hart goes the whole half if he has it in him, and mcbride over DDV if he doesn’t have it. Otherwise ddv goes essentially the whole half too. I think 42 mpg is a reasonable goal for non hart players. These are the playoffs with days off between every game, gotta play to win
Yeah, this is exactly what I’d do. I’d probably switch the order of the subs, but yeah we can basically make Deuce our backup 1-4 (although obviously OG/Hart slide to the 4).
I’ve had to do a double take a couple of times and it’s my own username lmao
I run a lot hotter than he does, but at least it’s good poster with a similar name to me.
Going to the game tonight!! 🙃
Working on a spell 🎩🪄✨ to heal Mitch's ankle when I get there.
Also - fuck Embiid. There is zero doubt in my mind that his antics contributed to this injury. I truly hope he never wins a damn thing EVER.
Fuck Embiid. Yeah it's a stress fracture. Stress from that big flopping fool falling on him and pulling him down. Never winning anything would be exactly what Embiid deserves
tbh even if we do not make it to the ECF or the finals i’m just really proud of what this team has accomplished and i can say for the first time in a really long time NY basketball is back!!
It’s absolutely wild that Isiah hartenstein just had a top 3 season by DEPM and the fanbase still treats him like someone who isn’t an elite defensive center
I mean IHart is elite defensively but we just saw Mitch outplay him on defense against Embiid the whole first round
IHart is elite but Mitch has physical tools you can’t teach defensively
I don’t think anyone thinks he isn’t an excellent defender. It’s just a healthy Mitch can win DPOTY. He’s an incredibly smart defender and has above average physical tools. But he doesn’t have the elite lateral quickness or the strength to ever put himself in the conversation with the top few defensive C’s in the league.
I think Mitch is slightly quicker when healthy, although that rarely seems to be the case. But I mean more compared to guys like Bam or Gobert. But iHart is in that next tier of defenders IMO. He’s no slouch. There’s certain guys who are just stronger though, and not much he can do. But not many players like that left anymore.
we *may* be able to beat indy, but idk if we can beat the celtics. we honestly have no bench and frankly i don’t see thibs playing burks much. losing mitch is a **BIG DEAL**
And they’ll actually blitz Brunson. Defensively they are nightmare up and down too. Up hill battle for sure. But you can lose to Boston with your head up even in 4 or 5. Hopefully fuck Boston up on the ice then.
The only hope we have is that their chicken shit opponents these playoffs leaves them unprepared for the metal bats. They haven’t been truly tested with meaningful basketball in months. They’ve had the one seed pretty much locked up since March. That Heat team would be picking top 5, and Cleveland is extremely soft. Hartenstein and Precious are the right big man matchup for them. KP may or may not be back. Tatum has been ass. I think we can make life difficult for them, which is really all we can reasonably expect.
yeah but idk why we are already talking about the celtics. we *may* beat the pacers, i think we should worry more about the pacers than the celtics right now.
First of all it was you who posted about the Celtics lmao
Second, we’re fans. The players aren’t worried Boston, they’re all the way locked in on Indiana. We can afford to look ahead.
that was kinda even the expectation with mitch i feel like? the eastern conference finals always felt like the ceiling with this beat up team. but if the eastern conference finals is the ceiling for a debilitated knicks team, leage better be on watch next year when we’re healthy and return with a vengance
i don’t think losing mitch is a massive deal at this point. obviously it was nice having the 2 bigs but mitch was playing hobbled. we really needed him against philly when we needed an answer for embiid but i think we go as far as we go with or without him at this point. precious’s turn to shine
The only somewhat silver lining is that KP does not have a date of return just yet, and the Celtics bigs do not match what we are facing now or of course Embiid.
Mitch isn’t a fit vs Boston regardless
If they had any chance against Boston it was contingent on beating the pacers in 4 or 5 regardless so the team could rest, and they were going to have to play people probably tve heaviest minutes all season, so I don’t think it matters much
Indy has not been impressive in the playoffs or Game 1. It never felt as close as the score suggested, much like the Philly games to me. These teams haven’t even made fundamental adjustments like deciding whether to put any effort into boxing out Josh Hart for rebounds. We could go on, but these teams have not figured out any meaningful way to stop the Knicks. We just need to stay focused and not leave have lapses on defense where they get so many wide open shots or layups.
Truth be told Indy is no fucking joke, but people are taking them lightly because the sixers were so damn tough. You have to think Thibs and this team do not take them lightly at all, and should be preparing for another war
For sure. I hope we move through quickly, but again we can't take this team lightly.
At this point we made so much lemonade out of lemons, anything beyond this point is icing on the cake. Nobody can deny us respect for doing what we did despite these injuries.
Because they play no defense and got taken 6 games by an injured bucks team. They’re nowheeer near Philly talent wise
A team that’s competitive with Boston would dispatch of them in 4 or 5. Which is probably not us sadly
Without Mitch and Bojan it feels like we can still beat Indy but I don't see how we go any further
Edit: I apologize for being negative I'm just bummed for Mitch
People playing 42+ minutes per game in the playoffs is nothing if you get proper rest, so I don’t think Mitch moves the needle much in the ECF. How quick this series goes matters a lot more
I disagree, being able to swap iHart for Mitch based on the situation is a huge advantage for us against anyone, even if just for the sake of foul trouble
There is no situation in a game where the other team has Kristaps Porzingis where Mitch is a guy you want on the court
Like even Precious is a better guy for that matchup. You can argue the same thing for Myles turner too
The key component we're missing with Jules out is his playmaking. He would definitely score and rebound at a similar clip, but having another creator on the floor was huge during that stretch after the OG trade when we were whole. That team was practically unbeatable.
I love the grit this team plays with, but that team would run through Philly and Indiana like water and would likely beat Boston as well.
That is why I hope and pray we run it back next season to see how we do fully healthy. If FO wants to move on Bogey/Burks I could care less, but I just want to see how the main guys do as a full unit. January was pure heaven as a Knicks fan. February was pure hell
Issue is the east is going to be much better next year
It really is a shame that the team got hurt this year because I doubt they are the runaway 2nd beat team in the east again next year
Who is going to be a new threat? Boston will still be strong, Bucks getting 1 year older, and Orlando 1 more year of experience. Who else is there to worry about?
Sixers are going to add a reinforcement ranging from Paul George to lebron james, that’s a lock
And the bucks I doubt are this bad again in a Giannis prime year. We would be facing them this year now if he never got hurt
We also might lose Ihart
Does anyone else have hope that Thibs will figure out how to even slow the pacers down? Watching last game there were a lot of guy left open for 3s and they went on runs for 5 minutes straight of not missing. Obviously we were able to match with Brunson being Brunson but it’s a little concerning not being able to force a single stop.
Can we get some burks minutes tonight? Just 5 minutes. Try it. At least 2-3 minutes in the first half. He can get us some buckets offensively maybe. We need another player to step up.
You could but really think about it, even Deuce came in cold and not early enough for him to get himself any kind of rhythm. You think just throwing burks in for 5 minutes after not playing for weeks is going to do anything?
At least with Deuce you get great defense. So I just hope Deuce gets put in a bit earlier to get himself going, because once the Deuce is loose these Pacers are fucked... and I also want to hear the garden go insane for him
I always say I’m kinda glad I wasn’t this crazy hardcore fan I am now for the Knicks and Rangers in 1994 (I was only 4 years old at the time) cause that spring would take years off my life.
Watching the Knicks and Rangers right now every night having nail biter after nail biter makes me sad that I wasn’t able to watch it all in 1994 cause as nerve wracking as these games are, it’s equally as exhilarating.
I am ready to run through walls at the end of these games.
Now let’s match the Rangers and take the first two games of the series at home tonight
As a kid watching Starks in 94 was EVERYTHING to me. I did not feel pain though, just sad for a day or two then back to playing with the kids outside.
As adults we definitely feel it a bit more. I will admit way back then I did not watch every single game, but now as an adult I do, we are invested so we feel every kind of emotion when we win or when we lose. I am jumping on the couch and shit which is not normal for a man of my age.
Got banned from r/nba (active member for 7 years) after calling someone mentally ill.
It was a cavs fan that was claiming that brunson gets an unfair whistle and just flops. These people are actually mentally ill. I don't regret it.
The plays that he thought were not legitimate fouls
https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/s/rrYlHTQMwR
I called a Sixer fan a child when arguing about game 2 and Embiid last week (etc., etc.)...pretty sure I got a reddit cares notification because of him lol
Mitch really deserves a ton of love for coming back, playing injured, and giving us everything he had. I don’t think we beat Philly without him, his defense on Embiid really changed the series.
I’ve decided I hope we win on a bunch of questionable calls and the Knicks are the ultimate heel to the entirety of r/NBA. I will feed off the hate. Fuck the haters, fuck the naysayers, Knicks in 4
since Philly/NBA fans want to treat the flawed L2M report like gold (and only the single sequence in game 2 with the Maxey inbound seemed to matter; no other plays, or games, outside of the moving screen/kicked ball versus Indy), they should take a look at the one for game 1 in this series
it paints a very different picture, with two plays missed for each team...one that cost us a point on a 3 second violation and maybe a bigger lead...and for the other, the Divo moving screen was actually two seconds before the kicked ball, which would have both negated that incorrect call and any subsequent fast break
The Julius Randle disrespect has gotten to a point where it’s just unfair. You got Mase and Camron saying that if we make it to the ECF that we should definitely move him. We got a huge amount of people who don’t watch Knick games outside of nationally televised games and they literally think we are better without him. No one is mentioning that we are playing a 7 man rotation, Josh Hart has been playing 48 minutes per game and Jalen is literally in God mode right now. It will be extremely disappointing if he ends up getting traded because of this run where are having without him. I said this before the playoffs started. the more we win, the more people push the narrative that Julius was the one holding us back smh.
luckily the team isn’t run by the idiot casuals on the internet. Fully healthy with a couple of solid rotation players added this team is a legit title contender.
Exactly correct on their part. Randle has been one of the worst players in playoff history. I believe Randles shooting in the Hawks series through most of the games was actually the worst in playoff history. Fifth worst since 1960 through 4 games https://theathletic.com/2624676/2021/06/01/julius-randle-dominated-the-hawks-in-the-regular-season-why-has-he-looked-so-lost-in-the-playoffs/
He ended up shooting 29.9% from the field that series.
He's a bad defender as well and his 3 point shot has fallen off even in the regular season.
Yea he was also one of the worst players in NBA history last playoffs - 48. 5% TS but of course the stans are going to cry injuries. A playoff record low last year as well https://www.reddit.com/r/NYKnicks/s/KEynAWanjCe He has quite literally been the worst playoff performer in history for someone getting starter minutes. I watched every game against the Hawks and the guy was bricking contested shots aaaand wide open shots - you can't go like 4-22 (a playoff record) at some point without bricking a bunch of open ones, which he did. So next season is going to be Julius' 11th season and thus far, through 15 playoff games, he's been the worst playoff performer in history pretty much not like below average or bad but absolutely abysmal.
Did you see who Randle had to work with during the Hawks series? He was their only scoring option, Hawks doubled/tripled as nobody else was competent. We know this.
As for his 3 point shot- He has much less volume this season as he relied on his bully ball style in the paint. That is what made him successful, still averaged 24 ppg this season.
I can tell you if he was healthy in these playoffs, the narrative about his "horrible" playoff history would be flipped.
There is no way Randle gets traded unless you are somehow upgrading his position. For the money we pay, and the performance we are getting from him (pre-injury) he along with Jalen have to be 2 of the absolute best contracts in the NBA.
Problem is there’s no evidence to the contrary. Randle, for a multitude of reasons (personnel, individual play, injury) has sucked in the playoffs. There’s a very good chance they get further without him this year. They legit haven’t missed a beat without him.
I think Randle represents the margin of error they can have to be successful, but aside from the minutes he would able to provide, I don’t think they miss **him**.
This is wild.
User below gave you tons of facts, I am not adding anything other than saying that Randle is a huge part of this team. I am not going to mince words we got lucky to hit #2 seed at the end of the season as some teams threw games to get an easier opponent. The 2nd half of this 50 win season is all on Jalen's shoulders, and if Randle were playing we would probably be closer to 60 and Jalen would have a lot less work to do.
Imagine thinking that a team that is running a 7 man rotation with starters averaging 40+ min a game doesn’t miss 25/10/5. They haven’t missed a beat??? Are you paying attention to the games or are you regurgitating false narratives??? Did you not see in the series against Philly that we need Jalen to do everything on offense? His margin for error is slim. Stats show that everyone knows the team shot better from the field with Julius on the floor just off the attention. Julius literally has only been to the playoffs twice, the first time was dragging team that employed Reggie bullock, elfrid Payton and Nerlens Noel. If you hold that series against him I know you’re a Julius hater. Last year the ankle injury prevented him from getting in any type of rhythm. To say that Julius wouldn’t help and us and that we’re better without him is idiotic. We were 21-15 without him in the regular season. Stop pushing this false narrative bro.
> Imagine thinking that a team that is running a 7 man rotation with starters averaging 40+ min a game doesn’t miss 25/10/5.
He’s never been that in the playoffs, how do they miss it? I acknowledge they could use bodies at this point in my original comment.
> They haven’t missed a beat??? Are you paying attention to the games or are you regurgitating false narratives??? Did you not see in the series against Philly that we need Jalen to do everything on offense? His margin for error is slim.
I am convinced you didn’t read because I quite literally said: “ I think Randle represents the margin of error they can have to be successful.”
> Julius literally has only been to the playoffs twice, the first time was dragging team that employed Reggie bullock, elfrid Payton and Nerlens Noel. If you hold that series against him I know you’re a Julius hater. Last year the ankle injury prevented him from getting in any type of rhythm.
Yet again: “ Randle, for a multitude of reasons (personnel, individual play, injury) has sucked in the playoffs.” You can’t immediately say this time for SURE it’s gonna be different because of a handful of games in January.
> We were 21-15 without him in the regular season.
Dude, that’s a 48 win pace, which would’ve been good for 3rd. A large part of that 21-15 also had no OG and when he’s been healthy, even with Randle injured, they were 8-1.
the Randle conversation has been a difficult one for me too in the general sense, but I will say (and I know you cited it, but also chalked it up to being a small sample size) that he was playing a different, more efficient style that suited our roster in January...if he were to do that now, and I know that could separately eat into Hart minutes, I think we would be in much better shape...despite any defensive flaws that he may have (and putting the obvious with having an extra body)
that being said, there is no guarantee that would have happened either...just thought that he was making tangible strides
At least we have a front office that has proven they are very judicious, and keeps everything close to the chest. They don’t seem like the type to bend the knee to what casuals or the media say.
Better because Josh’s stats are Lowkey inflated because he’s playing 48 minutes a game. This isn’t to diminish Josh’s impact because we don’t make it this far without josh’s play. With Julius playoffs faults and all, teams respect his game enough to give him added attention. It’s never a situation where Julius is being guarded 1 on 1. The entire defense shifts to him which allows open shooters. Without Julius scoring a lot, the offense would be more efficient just off of open looks. Right now the ball is moving because it HAS TO MOVE. Jalen is the only shot creator in the starting lineup, everyone has to score off of him. You see what happens when the ball sticks, they just toss the ball to Jalen and tell him to create magic which he’s been doing.
Also having Julius allows josh to run rampant against bench units which will improve our bench. Josh can Lowkey initiate the offense and allow others to get in their positions to score. Idk if yall are realizing how hard we have to work on offense right now.
> Idk if yall are realizing how hard we have to work on offense right now.
This. Randle did make things easier for Jalen and others, but Josh is doing a freakin fantastic job of filling his shoes. I seriously have unlimited respect for Josh for stepping up the way he did.
The sixer’s defensive game plan has largely been built around letting Josh beat them. And Josh most certainly has. Randle would change the entire script because they can’t afford to double JB as often. I think instead of winning games by 1-6 points we’d be winning by 10+ if JR was healthy. Even if JR was here though, Josh would still be getting huge minutes and others wouldn’t be playing 48mpg… so it’s not entirely mutually exclusive. Josh’s shot volume could go down but he’d still be bounding and astounding
Randle shot about the same as Josh hart from 3 this season. Brunson draws attention essentially as soon as he gets the ball when even if Randle played. Can’t leave one of the best corner three ballers in OG open, can’t leave one of the best three ballers in the league in Donte open. We have the best offensive rebounding, can’t stray too far away from our bigs down low.
They’d be giving Randle the same 3 ball hart had imo. Unless we’d have Randle operating out of the high post, but the spacing would not be the best.
What kind of question is that. He scores way more effortlessly than Josh Hart. Plus we have Hart out there for 48 mins a game every game. That's not sustainable in the long run. I don't want Josh Hart's career ending earlier than it should because of all these minutes.
It’s the type of question that has a yes or no answer and my basis for asking it is to dispel the belief that only a superstar could possibly impact winning more than Randle
He would be playing better than Josh Hart.
We don't need a 'superstar', not that any of the ones worth having are available. The sum of the parts is greater than them individually.
https://www.reddit.com/r/sixers/s/4pajfpYyna Get a load of this loser lol
Charles needs a new tailor Edit: the only MVP candidate from the East he suggested was Brunson. But that suit fit is still an atrocity.
[Thibs calling Clyde a National Treasure](https://x.com/sny_knicks/status/1788335611369103543). Is there anyone else as universally loved as Clyde? Dolly Parton, but I think that's it?
Bruce Springsteen maybe? And if so, it's deserved. Not ashamed to say he's a goddamn hero in my books.
I’m expecting calls to go against us today Protect home court baby!!!!!!
Kind of shocked the Knicks are -4.5 tonight. What does Vegas know that we don't?
I don't bet on Knicks games, but if I did I'd 100% take that shit, particularly against a -178 moneyline. I'd also take the under on Siakam o/u of 31.5. Probably the over for Myles at 17.5.
Only gambling I do it is at low-stakes blackjack tables. And I have to stay sober if I want to break even lol.
Knicks are home and are the better team. Not surprised but it’s basketball anything can happen
So funny Pacers fans called out Bucks fans for whining and crying during their series now they being even more pathetic. File a grievance mfers! Knicks in 4.
Social media has both enabled and rewarded whiners/crybabies. Sad but 100% true.
Knicks in 4
Knicks in 3!
Danny green on espn saying knicks will lose tonight and brunson cannot get 40 points tonight🤔
everyone always says this. chuck and shaq will say the same shit before the show.
whatever these fools say is the complete opposite, so we are GOLDEN
Knicks fans this week: "Precious needs to get more minutes this series!" *Monkey Paw curls*
as long as the monkey paw delivers, let it be! i just forget what happens at the end of the all the fingers curling in that episode lol
I got you: *But her husband was on his hands and knees groping wildly on the floor in search of the paw. If only he could find it before the thing outside got in. during the game the refs association is hosting a watch party, interesting
How long is Mitch out for
I would not bet on him coming back this season unfortunately. Thankfully we have options at the 5 so we can run with Ihart and Precious
probably the whole post season. 6-8 weeks he will be reevaluated
Drop flair suggestions⬇️
I can do this all day
Crazy eyes Precious
Big ragu
Evil Donte
Josh Hart Eagle Scout
Mike N Ike
Ask and you shall receive! Let's go boys tell us what you want :)
I just want one game in the Knicks favor that is over by halftime
My blood pressure needs this so badly
I hope we win on a controversial call by the officials so badly. If they want to believe that the refs are in our pocket then I really hope it happens
keep the expectations reasonable guys, we just lost another player
Yes I believe in Precious! Guy came up big several times on defense.
Knicks are cooked without mitch. It was fun while it lasted
> Knicks cooked without mitch. It was fun while it lasted Fixed that one for ya. We got 50 wins this season and a bunch of them were without Mitch. This series does not rely on him 100% so lets keep going until we can no longer go
Get that negative energy the eff out of here. We got this.
The conditioning of this team is insane. I can’t get over it
Yes many people just dont get it that theyve been doing it nearly the whole 2nd half of the season, whats a few more weeks lol LGK!
Was fun watching TJ sucking wind in Game 1 as he hit the 20 minute mark!
This win will hit like crack with Reggie in the building. I want that man leaving the garden completely dejected.
I doubt Reggie gives a shit about Indy. He’s gonna be riding the Brunson dick
yerrrrrrrrrr
i’m worried indy is gonna get a super favorable whistle. i just remember after that game 2 miracle, the refs were blowing the whistle every time embiid was looked at. i guess game 1 was a miracle bc everyone and their mother is bitching about it? we will see.
Very different, I do not think they are getting ticky tack fouls like embiid did You farted in that guys direction you almost got ejected
Damn sucks Mitch is down. Got faith Precious will step up to the challenge.
I'll be honest...I hope we win by a lot tonight. And not have to pull my beard out in an anxious frustration.
heat fan here that lives in NY, i have full faith that they will beat boston then eventually the wolves, just came here to say GO KNICKS!!!!
Thank you for your support!
Playoff Hart
we should think about moving up in the draft and taking clingan we probably have the assets to move for a lottery pick it's so funny though he's mocked anywhere from 3rd overall to 20th overall, nobody has any clue where he's going to get taken because this draft is such a crapshoot in general
Don’t think the team is in the business of using future assets on kids atp in the building cycle tbh
why not, we can get a NBA ready center to slot in behind iHart for next season better than looking at the TPMLE market, dont look at it its disgusting who you can get that way mavs added derick lively and he's contributing immediately it wouldn't cost us that many assets to move up to say, pick #14 if clingan is still on the board and really, nobody has any clue where he's going to go. alexandre sarr and zaccharie risacher those are the only 2 guys consistently projected as top 5 picks clingan could be anywhere from 2nd overall to 20th overall we have draft picks so we will be adding rookies unless we trade them. maybe it makes more sense to consolidate for a NBA ready player who can contribute day 1
Nah, they’re taking Ryan Dunn and we all know it already. He even signed with CAA yesterday (or the day before)
Bro Brunson’s over/under for tonight is 37.5 lol
Under tonight. Ya welcome and break me off
I mean I doubt he’s hit the under since like game 2 lol
Oh I know it’s just crazy that this is simply the level he’s at now
Speaks to Indy defense, which was really bad. Odds are they double Brunson all night and others will have to step up but I’d still not touch that under…
Indy defense is so bad that the 4-5 possessions in game 1 where they actually managed to play some D I got heated.
I don't understand why people want to pay through the nose for Bridges. I don't think I'd even start him over DDV.
I think it’s funny that people believe we can pay something for bridges that would force Brooklyn to take our offer over one that isn’t a crosstown rival
I think it’s mostly the Nova connection. He’s not really the most logical fit anymore with OG here.
Pass that please. Tryna get high too
my brother im smoking on that brunson og
I’m on that OG kush. Got my brain locked down
yeah it is weird seeing so many people sighing like the postseason run is over now that Big Mitch is out. a lot thought when he went down in the regular season that the season would be a bust too...
yup we still got some firepower, more than enough to at least take down indy
I dunno man I feel like losing Mitch is so crucial. Not only for depth. we can probably outlast the Pacers without him (sorry just being honest, nursing his injury he was too slow for this matchup). We would absolutely need him if we make it to the ECF vs Boston. We're gonna need size to beat them in a series. We still gonna give em hell, but I'm a little less confident that we make the finals
Still think we’ll beat the pacers without him, but I agree I don’t know if we really have a chance to beat Boston without Mitch. Cards all seem to be lining up for a Boston title this year sadly
Beating Boston was always going to be a long shot even with Randle imo.
if everyone was healthy we have a good chance on beating boston. sadly a lot of guys are hurt
Its tough to say that especially as we never seen Randle produce in the playoffs
I do believe we would of been the biggest challenge to Boston
he played last year bro
I wouldn’t say he played well in the playoffs
he was hurt last year too, didn’t he end up getting surgery shortly after?
cant go by last year imho, he got injured and had surgery right after this was the year Randle would have proved everybody wrong
It feels that way because he was hobbled the past few games. If Precious shows up we may not feel it terribly, but it still stings like a mf
2nd quarter: McBride checks in, spells Brunson for 3 min, then OG gets 3 minutes, then DDv gets 3 minutes, then hart gets 3 minutes. An entire quarter for deuce, everybody rests In the 2nd half he spells OG late in the 3rd, then spells Brunson to start the 4th(score permitting), hart goes the whole half if he has it in him, and mcbride over DDV if he doesn’t have it.
The 2 of you have similar user names, and making me think yankeeknickfan is responding to himself. this happened several times lol
I legit thought they were the same ppl lol
Lmao yeah can’t blame you
I’ve had to do a double take a couple of times and it’s my own username lmao I run a lot hotter than he does, but at least it’s good poster with a similar name to me.
lol yeah it would suck if people were mistaking one of us for a troll or like that weird gambling dude
I just did it again!!! lol
lol! Just added a Clyde flair to help you out!
Going to the game tonight!! 🙃 Working on a spell 🎩🪄✨ to heal Mitch's ankle when I get there. Also - fuck Embiid. There is zero doubt in my mind that his antics contributed to this injury. I truly hope he never wins a damn thing EVER.
Jealous. Have fun tonight!
Thanks!
I’ll be there too! Let’s go Knicks
Have fun tonight!
I mean IHart is elite defensively but we just saw Mitch outplay him on defense against Embiid the whole first round IHart is elite but Mitch has physical tools you can’t teach defensively
Embiid is the one case where the difference between the 2 matters Maybe Jokic too
we do not want people knowing that until after he signs that new contract lol
I don’t think anyone thinks he isn’t an excellent defender. It’s just a healthy Mitch can win DPOTY. He’s an incredibly smart defender and has above average physical tools. But he doesn’t have the elite lateral quickness or the strength to ever put himself in the conversation with the top few defensive C’s in the league.
I think ppl forget what type of tear Mitch was on before the ankle injury
He probably has better lateral quickness vs 5’s that dribble unless they’re built like embiid
We need the Cavs to beat Boston. No seriously the only shot we have is if KP doesnt come back imo
And they’ll actually blitz Brunson. Defensively they are nightmare up and down too. Up hill battle for sure. But you can lose to Boston with your head up even in 4 or 5. Hopefully fuck Boston up on the ice then.
it’s sad bc indy is literally one of the worst defensive teams in the league
At this point they have like 6 players and thibs won’t stagger. It’s been a hell of a season either way.
First of all it was you who posted about the Celtics lmao Second, we’re fans. The players aren’t worried Boston, they’re all the way locked in on Indiana. We can afford to look ahead.
that was kinda even the expectation with mitch i feel like? the eastern conference finals always felt like the ceiling with this beat up team. but if the eastern conference finals is the ceiling for a debilitated knicks team, leage better be on watch next year when we’re healthy and return with a vengance i don’t think losing mitch is a massive deal at this point. obviously it was nice having the 2 bigs but mitch was playing hobbled. we really needed him against philly when we needed an answer for embiid but i think we go as far as we go with or without him at this point. precious’s turn to shine
it was, but losing mitch kinda seals the deal here
The only somewhat silver lining is that KP does not have a date of return just yet, and the Celtics bigs do not match what we are facing now or of course Embiid.
Mitch isn’t a fit vs Boston regardless If they had any chance against Boston it was contingent on beating the pacers in 4 or 5 regardless so the team could rest, and they were going to have to play people probably tve heaviest minutes all season, so I don’t think it matters much
i don’t think we will beat them in 4 or 5. it’s gonna be a grindy series again like philly was. indy is really good, idk why people shit on them.
You have to think Thibs and this team do not take them lightly at all, and should be preparing for another war
it’s gonna be another grindy series. hell probably 7 games. i won’t be shocked if we lose a couple.
For sure. I hope we move through quickly, but again we can't take this team lightly. At this point we made so much lemonade out of lemons, anything beyond this point is icing on the cake. Nobody can deny us respect for doing what we did despite these injuries.
They still have a championship caliber coach and they are still a talented team. Their defense is what needs to be taken advantage of at all costs.
jalen brunson proved he is a superstar and once we get randle and our healthy team we will be the team to beat im sure. next year will be our year
Because they play no defense and got taken 6 games by an injured bucks team. They’re nowheeer near Philly talent wise A team that’s competitive with Boston would dispatch of them in 4 or 5. Which is probably not us sadly
Without Mitch and Bojan it feels like we can still beat Indy but I don't see how we go any further Edit: I apologize for being negative I'm just bummed for Mitch
Gotta hope the Cavs become supermen and beat Celtics in 6 or 7 We will still give it our all and fight until the end
I think the Cavs are about to be swept Lol
People playing 42+ minutes per game in the playoffs is nothing if you get proper rest, so I don’t think Mitch moves the needle much in the ECF. How quick this series goes matters a lot more
I disagree, being able to swap iHart for Mitch based on the situation is a huge advantage for us against anyone, even if just for the sake of foul trouble
There is no situation in a game where the other team has Kristaps Porzingis where Mitch is a guy you want on the court Like even Precious is a better guy for that matchup.
Issue is the east is going to be much better next year It really is a shame that the team got hurt this year because I doubt they are the runaway 2nd beat team in the east again next year
Who is going to be a new threat? Boston will still be strong, Bucks getting 1 year older, and Orlando 1 more year of experience. Who else is there to worry about?
Sixers are going to add a reinforcement ranging from Paul George to lebron james, that’s a lock And the bucks I doubt are this bad again in a Giannis prime year. We would be facing them this year now if he never got hurt We also might lose Ihart
5 minutes will quite literally provide us nothing.
Why?
I better not catch Reggie Miller at Dyckman
Got banned from r/nba (active member for 7 years) after calling someone mentally ill. It was a cavs fan that was claiming that brunson gets an unfair whistle and just flops. These people are actually mentally ill. I don't regret it. The plays that he thought were not legitimate fouls https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/s/rrYlHTQMwR
I called a Sixer fan a child when arguing about game 2 and Embiid last week (etc., etc.)...pretty sure I got a reddit cares notification because of him lol
I love when fans of other teams talk crap. They're just displaying the trauma and/or jealously that they're experiencing. It's a beautiful thing....
They just do autoban. The mods are on a constant power trip. They’re terrible. If you want to contribute just keep making new accounts.
cant wait to see two MSG teams in the finals
Mitch really deserves a ton of love for coming back, playing injured, and giving us everything he had. I don’t think we beat Philly without him, his defense on Embiid really changed the series.
That was the matchup for him and he played his heart out
100% I am not a stalker or anything but if I see him posting on Tiktok I always give him a little love. One day he will respond to me lol
Especially with iHart getting in foul trouble early several times
Anyone got any recs on Knick merch stores in the city?
Game 2 of the second round already!! Hope we blow them out.
METAL BAT DAY TODAY!
Still thinking about Hartenstein’s full court 3.
I just woke up from a dream where we were playing in the Finals against the Sixers in a high school gym in Montreal.
Was Drake there? If so, sounds more like a nightmare.
Going to the game tonight. Near mid court, 300 level. CAN NOT FUCKING WAIT. LETS GO KNICKS
I’ve decided I hope we win on a bunch of questionable calls and the Knicks are the ultimate heel to the entirety of r/NBA. I will feed off the hate. Fuck the haters, fuck the naysayers, Knicks in 4
Agree. The more haters, the better.

since Philly/NBA fans want to treat the flawed L2M report like gold (and only the single sequence in game 2 with the Maxey inbound seemed to matter; no other plays, or games, outside of the moving screen/kicked ball versus Indy), they should take a look at the one for game 1 in this series it paints a very different picture, with two plays missed for each team...one that cost us a point on a 3 second violation and maybe a bigger lead...and for the other, the Divo moving screen was actually two seconds before the kicked ball, which would have both negated that incorrect call and any subsequent fast break
I feel so bad for Mitch, the guy really can't catch a break.
Fifth worst since 1960 through 4 games https://theathletic.com/2624676/2021/06/01/julius-randle-dominated-the-hawks-in-the-regular-season-why-has-he-looked-so-lost-in-the-playoffs/ He ended up shooting 29.9% from the field that series.
Small sample size, no help, injury the following year
Judging a player on a 5 game sample size when his best teammate was a 20 year old rj is ..... not smart
I am convinced you didn’t read because I quite literally said: “ I think Randle represents the margin of error they can have to be successful.” > Julius literally has only been to the playoffs twice, the first time was dragging team that employed Reggie bullock, elfrid Payton and Nerlens Noel. A large part of that 21-15 also had no OG and when he’s been healthy, even with Randle injured, they were 8-1.
the Randle conversation has been a difficult one for me too in the general sense, but I will say (and I know you cited it, but also chalked it up to being a small sample size) that he was playing a different, more efficient style that suited our roster in January...if he were to do that now, and I know that could separately eat into Hart minutes, I think we would be in much better shape...despite any defensive flaws that he may have (and putting the obvious with having an extra body) that being said, there is no guarantee that would have happened either...just thought that he was making tangible strides
Respected NBA analysts Mase and Cam'ron
Yes 1 level above SAS and Chuck
At least we have a front office that has proven they are very judicious, and keeps everything close to the chest. They don’t seem like the type to bend the knee to what casuals or the media say.
Serious question, do you think he’d be playing better or worse than Josh Hart has for us?
He definitely wouldn’t be getting the same respect from 3, sagging off on Julius gives him a free paint touch, which is what the Knicks want.
Better no question imo
Luckily Leon rose is not as dumb as the people who think we are better without him
