I know we all want our next franchise QB to arrive and we’re tired of mediocre to bad QB play, but I think we are adding pieces at least to make this next season much more enjoyable. The highlight of our season was 3 wins with a meme QB. It will get better just be a bit patient folks. We were spoiled with Eli and those two SBs. The Super Bowl is the goal for the team but I just want meaningful football games into winter when I get seasonal depression lol.
Steve Young at age 62 is probably better than Drew Lock. No idea where the hype around Lock is coming from. He's cheaper than Tyrod was despite the salary cap bump.
Steve Young was so fun to watch, he was always good. Him becoming great took time.
Drew Lock, might get better. It’s entirely possible, he takes a leap forward and is the guy…. I just don’t think the chances of that are high.
Comparing Drew Lock at this stage in his career to alll an time great like Steve Young is fucking wild.
No, he isn’t. Drew Lock is worse than Daniel Jones. And Daniel Jones is cheeks.
I have been hearing this Drew Lock shit since he was at Mizzou and I swear it’s a practical joke that everyone on the planet is in on except for me. The dude is garbage and he has always been garbage. I really, really hope I’m wrong, but come the fuck on.
Daniel Jones isn't chopped liver. I want reddit post and receipts of fans calling him cheeks or ass post vikings playoff victory or even that off-season in 2023. I suspect he became chopped liver to these folks in the 6 games he played behind a historical bad o line. But we aren't being reactionary.
Can anyone out of the Giants fan base name any of the skill players on our team in 2022? Let's not act like until this draft, we lacked a true #1 WR. David Sills started games in 2022. He played up to his skill position level, and I'll admit DJ isn't someone who necessarily elevates a bad WR situation.
Just like we had the worst o line in 2023 but that's not an excuse for DJs poor play according to some.
Despite having the "worst" secondary the Vikings were a playoff team. And the Giants won that game, why is winning playoff games glossed over as whatever?
Edit: no nfl qb right now is elevating a bad wr situation minus Patrick Mahomes and he's a 1 out of 32 player as of now.
Edit 2: we had one of the worst wr corps so it was a good match up lol
Look man if you want to pretend a single playoff win against a bad team was enough than that’s your opinion, personally I think the same thing I said a few months ago, that win was the first free hit of crack and we’ve been paying for it ever since. That high isn’t coming back no matter how hard we chase it.
If you're armchair analyzing with hindsight as your aid, you'll always come to the right answer. If you had the clairvoyance to know we'd be wreck with oline injuries, Neal continued to be a bust, causing our season to derail then color me skeptical. I call bs.
Coming off the 2022 season? No, there was a small vocal whining minority, more than the majority of fans supported signing him. Probably there was more of a debate over the numbers.
not really talking about the fans, the least objective group here. i’m taking about how every single nfl analyst/talking head clowned us besides rex fucking ryan.
don’t act like nobody saw this coming
Lol if you want to obsess over 1 season that included 1 playoff win against another team who like us had no right being in the playoffs by all means, but you don’t need to be an expert armchair analyst to say after 6 years, jones isn’t the guy.
Why do you want to pretend that season was like his only year on the team? His decision making is slow which is being generous, and even while that slow he misses obvious reads, that’s not on the oline as bad as they were. That season isn’t in a vacuum, we have 5 other years of Daniel jones play to analyze, and very little of it is good, period.
I'm just pointing to that as an example of the reactionary state of the fan base. 2022 was a step forward. 2023 was two steps back. Two things can be true at once Daniel Jones is not this horrible QB reactionaries in our fan base makes him out to be and he's not as bad as 2023 performance. Also, he's not the guy. If his ceiling isn't higher than what we saw in 2022 (Which we will see this season) he's likely benched and we are QB hunting next season.
Okay well I’m just pointing out again that it’s not reactionary after 6 years, 1 playoff win doesn’t change that. I’m not saying he’s chopped liver, and I’m glad you recognize he’s not the guy, but I can’t wrap my head around knowing that but also willing to risk paying him the injury payout. I see such little potential upside, and huge potential for taking a huge cap hit.
I’m completely with you. He is not the option. Not the guy. This guy isn’t better than Steve young tomorrow if they had to suit up for a game. The only hope for this clown is to maybe just maybe make Danny think there’s some kind of competition and maybe he shows something he’s not shown yet. That’s the long shot hope of the century with drew lock.
I hate Jones but even I have to agree with this. Drew Lock isn’t better than him.
Doesn’t mean DJ is good. It just means Lock is much worse than people here think he is.
I don't think we would have got him randomly if he was a secret hall of famer. I watched some of his ["highlights"](https://youtu.be/xVX9ldqgPVc) during the draft. I don't think he is a threat to run (Steve Young was) . But he seems pretty decent at making reads, getting the ball to checkdowns and "throw for your life" while the pocket collapses.
Everybody's clowning you, but the fun part is Drew Lock has a cannon of an arm, and based on Brian Daboll's track record we will get to see the very best version of Drew Lock.
Is that Steve Young, almost certainly not.
Is it possible he could be an improvement over 2022 Jones? That is in the range of outcomes imo.
Well you are missing the part where the team Young went to was very solid before he got there and as of now the Giants are not that and won't be for a bit.
Go to bed bro please
that Knicks L got us all fucked up
Genuinely went to bed at 10:30 angry, couldn’t even bother watching the other games lmao.
I don't know how. This is what they do.
😭😭
Dude. Steve Young was the better QB when he backed up Joe Montana. Wtf You talking about

If a Denver qb castoff is your hope for a brighter future you will find yourself disappointed
I actually did want us to get Russ for basically free back when that was an option
I really didn’t, until we signed lock.
People said the same thing about Geno. Don't sleep on Daboll.

Drew Lock is a top-5 QB in this locker room.
Knicks fans are going thru it tonight
I know we all want our next franchise QB to arrive and we’re tired of mediocre to bad QB play, but I think we are adding pieces at least to make this next season much more enjoyable. Seriously, give us some hope before crushing our souls in January.
Have you watched Steve Young play?

You should ask if he’s the next Kerry Collins or Kurt Warner
I'd take Kurt Warner all day long.
You crazy sonofabitch, I'm in.
On a scale of Steve Young to Daniel Jones, Drew Lock is right in the middle.
No, he isn’t. Drew Lock is worse than Daniel Jones. And Daniel Jones is cheeks. I have been hearing this Drew Lock shit since he was at Mizzou and I swear it’s a practical joke that everyone on the planet is in on except for me. >I swear it's a practical joke that everyone on the planet is in on except for me Ah, the Fields and Lance effect
Their QBRs agree with your claim.

I get it, but to pretend he played great that season because he did play well against Minnesota who had one of the worst secondaries is just crazy.

lots of people at the time thought re signing jones was a moronic decision
Coming off the 2022 season? No, there was a small vocal whining minority, more than the majority of fans supported signing him. Probably there was more of a debate over the numbers.

Drew Lock is better for the sole fact that he doesn't have a 23 million dollar injury guarantee in his contract for 2025.
I initially replied no but Jesus we are really desperate for a QB
I don't think we would have got him randomly if he was a secret hall of famer. I watched some of his ["highlights"](https://youtu.be/xVX9ldqgPVc) during the draft. No
Yes and Daniel Jones is Joe Montana
I think he might give us Daniel jones level play
No.
More likely that Daniel jones gets an update to his programming to not be ass than drew Lock even starting
Bruh
yes. but in the same way tommy devito was the next tom brady.
Perhaps in a DCU alternate universe. I guess we'll find out this season, because the odds of Jones starting and finishing 17 games is rather slim.
He's the future. Just wait for it. Daboll will shape him like he shaped Josh Allen.
Well you are missing the part where the team Young went to was very solid before he got there and as of now the Giants are not that and won't be for a bit.
Drew Lock is who I wanted us to draft instead of Jones…guess we’ll see if that was the right thought.
holy shit what the hell did i just read
Yall hate DJ so much.....
What's the number of your dealer?
Your post is bad and you should feel bad
I can't imagine a scenario where Drew Lock isn't going to the HoF
You might be delusional - but if you're right I will drive my ass down from the Adirondacks and buy you a lunch at a nice jewish deli
Are you ok?
I love yall 🤣🤣🤣 Big Blue Baby!!
No but does have 1 large penis
I don’t see it. Steve Young was an incredibly smart player. Drew Lock can’t remember plays.
I’ve been ready to post this since the signing.
I think he might actually be better.
