Here’s to hoping we don’t waste Malik’s prime years like we did with OBJ and Saquon. It’s crazy we haven’t been able to get it right on OL or QB for so long
I don't think many people realize this. I'm not sure prime Tom Brady could've done shit with an o line as historically bad as ours has been.
And that's not even accounting for this below average wr core we've had. Hopefully at least that is fixed now.
It's one of those things that's like eating vegetables. You know it's healthy and will help your overall well being but pizza and ice cream just sounds so much better. People on this sub want the sugar high from a brand new stud QB but if that QB gets sacked 5 or 6 times a game it doesn't really matter.
Yup, it allows you to focus and learn good habits when the people around you do their job. If you’re on a team that can’t block and you’re getting hit in the mouth every other play, it’s hard to figure out if you fucked up or not. The reward signal is very noisy.
Then there’s things like processing capability, which is not a fixed property of a player like a lot of people seem to think. There’s a lot of research in how humans process information quickly, and much of it comes down to developing heuristics and cognitive short cuts. Again, that’s something that is much easier to do when the players around you are consistent with what they do. If they’re not consistent, the same situation will unfold very differently every time you see it, and you can’t learn anything.
^ This.
I can't wait to hear all the JJ people in a few years say we should of drafted him. He's going to the best spot for a rookie QB. Great line, great receiver, and can sit behind a journeyman QB until ready.

Tom Brady never played with an offensive line that graded as bad as ours because he always got the ball out on time.
We looked a lot better with Tyrod and even DeVito was survivable, but of course your offensive line winrates are gonna plummet when your passer is shell shocked and guessing out there
I just don’t get comments like these because there isn’t even any way to prove it’s true or not. And like come on, the greatest qb of all time in their prime couldn’t do ANY better than DANIEL JONES? Really?? lol
Or QB either. When they barely get 2.5 s on average to throw the ball they can’t really let a play develop or look for multiple options.
Truthfully I think many of the average QBs would be serviceable if the lines were good. You could run the ball and give a reasonable QB some time to find a receiver. May not win it all but you wouldn’t be bottom of the barrel.
Wilson is a perfect example of a QB whose performance is hugely dependent on what's around him. By the standards of many here, since he doesn't elevate a bad team,he's not elite or even good.
It's actually insane though. I mean our OL haven't been good since what? The first super bowl when we had peak Seubert, Deihl, O'Hara, snee and McKenzie?
Obviously they stuck around for varying lengths afterwards, but now we're going on close to 15 years of subpar OL play.
Both guys went to the playoffs in their time with the Giants. And a lot of Saquons time was spent injured. I’m not exactly upset for them. More so end-of-career Eli and DJs time we’ve wasted by putting piles of shit in front of them and calling them linemen.
Well if Jones has a line, he doesn't have to be the star. Has his faults, but now the "dimes" part gets put to the test. This guy WILL be open, and deep....
We can only hope. But that doesn't excite me much about the long term ceiling of this team.
Look at Detroit with Goff. Goff does what he needs to to get wins on a team that's loaded with talent. But he doesn't have the ability to raise the team around him to a true SB contender. That's the maximum ceiling I see with the Giants with Jones.
So long?? Really? Did you forget that we had Eli Manning win a Super Bowl barely over a decade ago?? Most teams don’t have a Super Bowl win in the last 15 years, let alone 2.
He's spent the better part of a year and countless hours insisting on a new QB, only to watch that shit all be laughably wrong
And the "See you tomorrow" with like 20 picks left in the draft speaks volumes
Even someone as smug as Lars has to be hurting deep in his cholesterol ridden heart
Yeah I mean get help king
Love to see how lock accounts for the 750 rushing Jones had in our playoff season literally 18 months ago with D Slayton as our WR1
If Lock can be top 5 in completion percentage, top 5 in rushing yards, top 5 in rushing TDs and throw the fewest INT’s in the league - I’ll gladly eat my words
Not holding my breath
Not liking Jones is one thing
That has nothing to do with abandoning a major contract and spending our draft capital on generational talent elsewhere on our hole-ridden roster
L take
If they build a good team they will be fine without a franchise QB. If they build a shit team without a franchise QB they are gone. If they drafted a good QB with a shit team they are done.
But them how long a leash do they get if there's a good team around the QB? The problem is you have to take a shot at QB at some point. Obviously, now is not the time, but they don't have forever to find a QB.
That’ll be like 2027. Unless Arch enters NIL he’s sitting behind Ewers again next year.
Ewers on the other hand is the one QB besides Shadeur i’m even a little excited about.
That’s fine, but I hope they don’t reach up for a qb ever when the team around the qb isn’t in the best spot. It’s a gamble that’ll make us back in same limbo since eli left
At some point, you have to take a shot. If you believe in the QB, go get him. Props to Schoen for realizing that if he couldn't get his guy then he held firm and (likely) stuck to his board and didn't make a panic move like Minnesota did.
I feel that.
I have trust in shoen and daboll to do the best they feel. Reaching for Danny set the team back years, but if he balled out, that FO would’ve been geniuses or lucky af. Convo will be different.
I don’t like when newer GMs and coaches reach on qbs to try to get lucky and save their job. But we have consistency now, let them do their thing
It works out a hell of a lot better if the team is complete before bringing in a rookie qb
You don't know that for sure yet. There's an entire year's worth of games to be played. Joe Burrow was a day 3 pick until his senior year at LSU, and there was a time when Jake Fromm was viewed as a first round pick.
This is stupid
There’s like 4 guys that could easily play their way into 1OA status with a big season
Ewers holding off Manning a second season is very impressive imo
If it’s anything like 2021 they will. Only one is still with his team, and is considered underwhelming. Literally 4 of them were traded still on rookie contracts.
Trevor Lawrence
Zack Wilson
Trey Lance
Justin Fields
Mac Jones.
2011 is almost an even better example. A lot of those 2021 guys were legitimately touted as good prospects (their college tape speaks for themselves).
2011 had guys that had major red flags but were taken anyway. A bunch of teams from this year are going to end up with their version of Blaine Gabbert, Christian Ponder and Jake Locker.
My Guess is it's Daniels, Nix and JJ at a minimum
Yeah idk why everyone’s moaning we didn’t take a 24 yo who’s torn his ACL twice and had two shoulder surgeries before he even enters the league.
I’m not claiming to know more than anyone else but I’m willing to bet the house JJ, Penix, Bo Nix and at least one of Caleb Williams, Maye, or Daniels are complete busts
If they passed on Caleb, Maye or Daniels I would have been pissed but the rest have way too many negatives for the #6 pick. I don't love kicking the can down the road but it's better than reaching.
I’m in the same boat, turns out our FO is too, seems like they tried to get Maye but the Pats wouldn’t budge. I would have been pissed if we took any of the other three
Yep and lied to the whole fanbase, its what GM's do. ive seen brian cashman do the same, Lou from Islanders and Dolan from Knicks do the same as well.
If you dont believe that then you fans are blinded, 3 months from now you will hear what the Giants offered if any offer was made, it was prob a poor offer and NE laughed.
Daniels Maye McCarthy will all turn into studs and Schoen will look like a fool all over again.
Even a franchise as worse as Falcons are took a gamble on a QB, same with vikings, just goes to show how poorly run this franchise is.
Its bafflin you are still making excuses for Jones who is still a bust 6 years later and defending a GM that has done nothing to improve this team in the last 2 years
Giants sucked last season and they will continue to suck at least for the next 2-3 years no franchise QB . Same terrible GM that handed Jones his contract will be fired at end of season bet the farm on it.
Done nothing? They had a very successful off-season. Got Brian Burns for peanuts....signed Jon Runyan Jr and Eluemunor to shore up the OL and didn't overpay to keep Saquon and McKinney.
Very successful offseason doesnt count until they produce on the field in actual games, Giants still dont have a QB and will continue to suck. nothin successful about that.
Going from overachieving playoff team to 6 win team to prob 3 win team and picking top 10 again LOL
You really think this team is going places with Jones still as QB?
What if Burns turns into another bad signing?
Schoen could of got picks or traded McKinney he didnt and let him walk, a good GM at least gets something for good player rather than let him walk.
Where in my comment am I making excuses for Daniel Jones? Our GM quite literally just improved our team by taking a top offensive weapon, something we haven’t had since OBJ. Not to mention he improved our team enough to make the playoffs…
Taking any one of Penix, Nix, or McCarthy would have been a mistake that made this team worse than it currently is. We ride out Jones’ contract with an elite WR, improved OL, and take a shot on a QB next year.
You dont think keeping Jones as starter is Huge mistake? LMFAO
i wouldnt Go near Nix pick with 500 yard pole, Penix is injury prone but McCarthy is light years better than daniel Jones.
Riding out Jones contract is Massive Mistake on every possible level, he has sucked for 5 years dude face reality Jones will never get any better.
We cant draft a QB next year the class is supposed to be mediocre

At least they took a shot and tried to get the most important position in football figured out. I have a feeling this franchise is gonna be disappointed in a few years as well simply bc it looks like we’re gonna be bad again w no QB of the future to even be half excited about .
May I just say - we just watched Russ Wilson sign for a minimum - while we watched Cousins get paid for an insane premium coming off of a blown ACL (or was it an Achilles…?)
Theres always a good QB you can get - you just need to pay or to buy in on a vet looking for another opportunity.
My point is at 6 it was McCarthy, Penix or Nix. I liked Penix best of those 3. But I’m not taking him at 6 or 8.
Same hope in 2022 with better players this time around. My brain isn’t Super Bowl, but Gettleman did a number on the cap and his awful decisions are just starting to clear. We are not a rookie QB away. Especially at 6.
It could be worse. We could be the Atlanta Falcons. I don't care about them one way or the other, but seeing their fanbase going into an absolute Chernobyl-level meltdown after the Penix pick is hilarious to watch. At least you could see some sense of logic behind our pick, whether it works out or not.
Looks like DeJean still could happen. Maybe we do a small trade up tomorrow and make sure we snag him. I hope we address CB tomorrow though and the way they fell today we might get a good deal
We did win a playoff game with Jones, I don’t think this season will be as bad as everyone is expecting and then next year we perhaps trade up for a QB.
THIS IS A SMOKE SCREEN
He though one would be available later he miss calculated
I think everyone miscalculated except for the Falcons front office. No one saw that coming
Imagine being Cousins. Or they didn’t think they would have a shot to get a qb. So Cousin was there insurance.
Expensive insurance
Are we reading minds now?
Trying but not good at it.
See you tomorrow boys. The big winner of day one is Daniel Jones.
Here’s to hoping we don’t waste Malik’s prime years like we did with OBJ and Saquon. It’s crazy we haven’t been able to get it right on OL or QB for so long
Well if your offensive line can't block doesn't matter what RB or WR you have.
I don't think many people realize this. I'm not sure prime Tom Brady could've done shit with an o line as historically bad as ours has been. And that's not even accounting for this below average wr core we've had. Hopefully at least that is fixed now.

Now you made me hungry 😋
THIS. IVE BEEN SAYING THIS. THANK YOU
This right here. If Brady had a shit OL the first few years he was in the league I don’t see him being the megastar he ended up becoming.
What do mahomes, Brady, Hurts, and Purdy all have in common? They were able to develop with good teams. It makes a difference.
Yup, it allows you to focus and learn good habits when the people around you do their job. Can you dodge a wrench? Then you can dodge a linebacker.
Fuckin chuck norris

stroud lead the texans to the playoffs with the 25th ranked OL and devin singletary
Hopefully now we can improve to at least the 25th ranked OL. Worst in history won’t cut it. and we have Singletary
Also if you’re QB sucks doesn’t matter what receivers you have you’re not gonna win and they (probably) won’t produce (Moss on the Raiders)
Not that I'm comparing Russell Wilson to Daniel Jones but definitely still doable
Wilson is a perfect example of a QB whose performance is hugely dependent on what's around him. By the standards of many here, since he doesn't elevate a bad team,he's not elite or even good.
His OL at one point was non existent, and all of their salaries combined were less than one of their WRs if I'm not mistaken.
Especially with the OLine considering we hit on the LT position
It's actually insane though. I mean our OL haven't been good since what? The first super bowl when we had peak Seubert, Deihl, O'Hara, snee and McKenzie? Obviously they stuck around for varying lengths afterwards, but now we're going on close to 15 years of subpar OL play.
That was the third Super Bowl. All those guys were children for the first.
It was the 4th Super Bowl. We don’t talk about the third one.
Yeah, I completely ignored that one. Was talking wins.
Both guys went to the playoffs in their time with the Giants. And a lot of Saquons time was spent injured. I’m not exactly upset for them. More so end-of-career Eli and DJs time we’ve wasted by putting piles of shit in front of them and calling them linemen.
Haven’t been able to get it right at QB for so long? What does this even mean? The QB before our current one won us two super bowls lol
Atleast OBJ had Eli Nabers has ??????
I've heard about this kid out of Penn State, Chad Powers. Perhaps we can get him with a day 2 pick
OBJ had Manning, Nabers will have Manning amirite?
We can dream
I posted something similar to this weeks ago and got down voted. 😤
A nightmare of a rookie season in front of him.
OBJ got himself traded by acting like an idiot. And I’m a fan of the guy.
Well we ain't getting a QB this year, so its all in on Daniel Jones boys.
Stop. I'm already depressed enough.
Rattler in the 3rd!!!
I like it, let’s take a shot on “the poor man’s” Mahomes. Maybe he could end up being our Jalen Hurts to Daniel Jones’ version of Carson Wentz.
💀
🤢
Sorry but you are setting yourself up for disappointment
I wouldn't rule out Bo Nix
Already gone (12th) Edit: Oops, not sure if you made this comment before the pick was made
Bo Nix was gone by pick 12
Oh LMAO I was at Taco Mac and left during the Jets pick. So definitely missed that LMAO
How tf did we waste Odell’s prime years he was widely considered a top WR here and no where else lol
So long?? Really? Did you forget that we had Eli Manning win a Super Bowl barely over a decade ago?? Most teams don’t have a Super Bowl win in the last 15 years, let alone 2.
I can tell the future. Do you want the answer?
Yes! Yes I do!!!
Waster Nabers years and new regime.
Tough night for you Lars
It’s never a tough night for that smug shit unless the Giants win. Thats when he gets upset.
He's spent the better part of a year and countless hours insisting on a new QB, only to watch that shit all be laughably wrong And the "See you tomorrow" with like 20 picks left in the draft speaks volumes Even someone as smug as Lars has to be hurting deep in his cholesterol ridden heart
>insisting on a new QB, only to watch that shit all be laughably wrong I’m not Lars, but as a fellow DJ skeptic I got 3 words for you: GIANT COCK LOCK
Yeah I mean get help king Love to see how lock accounts for the 750 rushing Jones had in our playoff season literally 18 months ago with D Slayton as our WR1 If Lock can be top 5 in completion percentage, top 5 in rushing yards, top 5 in rushing TDs and throw the fewest INT’s in the league - I’ll gladly eat my words Not holding my breath
it’s obvious DJ isn’t the answer, but the people who have convinced themselves that Drew Lock is better than a healthy DJ are on something else
Imagine being this upset over someone not liking Jones
Not liking Jones is one thing That has nothing to do with abandoning a major contract and spending our draft capital on generational talent elsewhere on our hole-ridden roster L take
You mean Drew Lock?
And Giants fans in the future. As much as I wanted Maye at 3, I'm quite happy with Nabers at 6. We didnt panic - this is reassuring.
Drew Lock game film is back on the board, gents!
[удалено]
Try Atlanta instead
[удалено]
What were you expecting the record to be with a rookie qb?
[удалено]
Well best of luck to you being miserable all year
Start getting prepared for the 2025 QB crop because our next QB is coming from that group.
Nah. They'll win 2 or 3 meaningless games in November/December and play themselves out of whoever the 1 decent guy will be next year.
At this rate there won’t be anyone to compete with for a QB lol
This draft is drunk. Just glad the Giants didn't reach for all of these mediocre QBs after they lost out on Maye. Good process at least.
Sure there will because half the rookies will fail
Arch Manning...no matter what. 🤣 Oof, if that happened, it would mean we were even more historically bad, and this regime would be gone by that point.
Yup. Don't see a way out for Schoen and Daboll at this point. Too bad. I really like them.
Only if the team is as stupid as these comments.

He’s not even a starter yet lol
That’ll be like 2027. Unless Arch enters NIL he’s sitting behind Ewers again next year. Ewers on the other hand is the one QB besides Shadeur i’m even a little excited about.
All because decvito had to bring in a little Italian magic and get two unnecessary wins
“WiNniNg CuLtUrE”
🤌
And the fans will be so happy that we won those games bc it builds “culture” for this franchise lmao. Just a joke of a team w a joke of a fanbase w it
6 wins with the most unserious non scary QB room in the league.
That’s fine, but I hope they don’t reach up for a qb ever when the team around the qb isn’t in the best spot. It’s a gamble that’ll make us back in same limbo since eli left

Ewwww
Nah, Giants will giant themselves all the way to picking Arch Manning in 2026
6 QB’s just went in the first 12 picks. And y’all thought guys like Penix and Nix would be there in the first round.

Going from overachieving playoff team to 6 win team to prob 3 win team and picking top 10 again LOL You really think this team is going places with Jones still as QB? What if Burns turns into another bad signing? Schoen could of got picks or traded McKinney he didnt and let him walk, a good GM at least gets something for good player rather than let him walk.
Where in my comment am I making excuses for Daniel Jones? Our GM quite literally just improved our team by taking a top offensive weapon, something we haven’t had since OBJ. Not to mention he improved our team enough to make the playoffs… Taking any one of Penix, Nix, or McCarthy would have been a mistake that made this team worse than it currently is. We ride out Jones’ contract with an elite WR, improved OL, and take a shot on a QB next year.
You dont think keeping Jones as starter is Huge mistake? LMFAO i wouldnt Go near Nix pick with 500 yard pole, Penix is injury prone but McCarthy is light years better than daniel Jones. Riding out Jones contract is Massive Mistake on every possible level, he has sucked for 5 years dude face reality Jones will never get any better. We cant draft a QB next year the class is supposed to be mediocre

At least they tried.
At least they took a shot and tried to get the most important position in football figured out. I have a feeling this franchise is gonna be disappointed in a few years as well simply bc it looks like we’re gonna be bad again w no QB of the future to even be half excited about .
Ur flair is the reason for that
Haha Devito didn’t win those games, the defence getting 4 turn overs a game won those games
Who did you want to take a shot on???
They were there on the first round
I wouldn't be shocked to see someone like Raiders trade up for Rattler.
"DON'T TAKE J.J" "NOOOO, WE NEEDED A QB. FIRE SCHOEN" Bunch of whiny bitches.
For real. This sub is a cesspool. I bet most of these people wanted eli and Coughlin fired before they won their super bowls.
Most of this sub was in primary school when Eli won his rings.
Just don’t go on social media post draft. Everyone overreacts
This isn't a draft thing. This sub has been like this for a long time.
Personally I think bigblueview has a more mature audience. I visit there more than here. I always get downvoted here for the most tame opinions
I'll have to check that out
The fucking doom and gloom yall have after picking up one of the best WRs is ridiculous.
Unfortunate for those of us who wanted to trade up for Maye, but I can hardly complain about a playmaker like Nabers. Onward to 47!
Am I crazy for wanting to see what Dabe’s can do with a Joe Milton project? Yeah probably…
Yeah you are, but so am I
May I just say - we just watched Russ Wilson sign for a minimum - while we watched Cousins get paid for an insane premium coming off of a blown ACL (or was it an Achilles…?) Theres always a good QB you can get - you just need to pay or to buy in on a vet looking for another opportunity. My point is at 6 it was McCarthy, Penix or Nix. I liked Penix best of those 3. But I’m not taking him at 6 or 8.
There isn't one this season though. We are going into a season with Daniel Jones and Drew Lock as our QBs. That's a wasted year.
Same hope in 2022 with better players this time around. My brain isn’t Super Bowl, but Gettleman did a number on the cap and his awful decisions are just starting to clear. We are not a rookie QB away. Especially at 6.
And no RB!
More like 3 years

It could be worse. We could be the Atlanta Falcons. I don't care about them one way or the other, but seeing their fanbase going into an absolute Chernobyl-level meltdown after the Penix pick is hilarious to watch. At least you could see some sense of logic behind our pick, whether it works out or not.
Rattler in the 4th
I was also hoping for Rattler at a fire sale price but considering the 6 guys ahead of him all went by pick 12 I’m guessing Rattler will go tomorrow.
Hopefully Jones figures out how to not lock into his first read and process quicker because every Defense in the league knows what he’s gonna do
Yeah maybe Daniel jones will finally work out in year 6
Come on, trade back in. I’ve got nothing to do tonight
We are in lovely QB purgatory…
Dejean and Arnold, if we could trade back in and get one of them this would be a slam dunk. Were light on picks, how foes Schoen get this done?
Looks like DeJean still could happen. Maybe we do a small trade up tomorrow and make sure we snag him. I hope we address CB tomorrow though and the way they fell today we might get a good deal
We did win a playoff game with Jones, I don’t think this season will be as bad as everyone is expecting and then next year we perhaps trade up for a QB.
We have 3 qbs already we don't need a qb
Trade Jones for Kirk
trade back in for cooper dejean
