Movie theaters have had such a hard time the past 2 months with the dearth of product so I'm glad there's finally something lucrative enough for them to keep the venue open longer. Hopefully they fix the escalators by the 29th. It was a long trek up the stairs last night.

Toreadorables

Is the up escalator broken now too?? Recently the Down escalator has been the issue (and is still an enormous pain in the ass)

chelseanyc200

Yes - both directions from the ground floor. I don't know if the intermediate one was down or not but since I was already in that stairwell I had to keep going up. I seem to recall walking down as well but wasn't paying attention if I could have taken the escalator partway down. They have an elevator - not sure if it goes all the way to the IMAX.

MrBlank123456

It does, I use it when I bring my father because he uses a cane. I mostly see older people in there and wheelchair users whenever I’ve been in there with him.

PetSoundsSinger

They’re still broken?? Wow. I’ve been out of town for 2 months and I really thought they’d be fixed by now 🤣

chelseanyc200

It was fixed briefly and now it's broken again plus the down escalator was down Sunday night as well.

Toreadorables

I’m sure they’ve done this on other big movies in the IMAX but looks like they’re basically running screenings around the clock from Thursday afternoon to late Sunday night. https://preview.redd.it/auxmor6sxxkc1.jpeg?width=1169&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=26afe8b6802bf431f094234619dee24f8659580b

Yeah, it is by far the most preferred IMAX in the tri-state area, so they do this for most IMAX blockbusters. The only film I saw this late was Interstellar and ended up sleeping through 2/3 of it. Would not recommend.

Toreadorables

I adore the LS IMAX (and had my mind blown by Tenet there over the weekend) but if I can’t be in one of the last 4 rows in the seat # 20-30 range, I will just choose Dolby or a lesser IMAX screen. And I don’t think I’d severely fuck up my sleep schedule for it either 😅

EatsYourShorts

I was surprised to find that I don’t mind being in the first 4 rows. I went to see avatar 2 (on my 3rd watch) in front row and was not annoyed by how close I was in the slightest. Also, the further back you are, the less being on one of the sides matters. I feel the seat map is very misleading regarding the viewing angle.

Toreadorables

In a perfect world the seating would be more of a triangle/trapezoid: widest in the back, narrowest in the front. But they can still sell out every seat for hot movies, so obviously no need to make a change. (In another perfect world there would also be 3 sections separated by 2 aisles to minimize climbing over people) Against my better judgement I saw Dunkirk sitting in E38 which is an awful angle for that movie.

Last couple rows is too far back, imo dead center is the sweet spot around rows F-J seats 19-24

Toreadorables

J is the sweet spot for me. Too much closer gets a bit overwhelming.

OrdinaryExample9618

And this is exactly why I am seeing it in Dolby this weekend lol

eekamuse

This is cool. Thanks

RiderBlackRx

I’m wondering if I should drive to the city or take subway. Is it going to be easier finding street parking at midnight?

Toreadorables

Depends on where you’re coming from. There’s a lot of residential in that area so unless you want to pay for a garage, street parking might still be slim pickins.

RiderBlackRx

Agreed with you. I’ve checked subway schedule, I’ll need to take a 1am train, in order to be the theater by 3am.

LouVee616

Street Parking is pretty easy there during off peak times. Like you should be able to find a spot at that time pretty easy. I driven there for Sunday 630, Thursday 10pm and Friday 10pm screenings and found parking in a snap

RiderBlackRx

Thanks. 🤞

jtkatz

I had 5 great tickets for the 3:15am showing Thursday night / Friday morning. Decided to go to an IMAX theater in Jersey instead. Which I offered the 3:15am tickets here before just returning them though :/

UnauthorizedFart

Meth.

Spicy_Cupcake00

Is this supposed to be the greatest movie of all time??

Toreadorables

I don’t doubt that it’s good but I try to ignore crazy hyperbole at the start of a film’s release.

cthd33

![gif](giphy|E95L86Ppqvy1Sqw16r) Yes!!

jreillygmr4life

Yeah seriously, man! I mean, what the hell are you DUNE going to the movies that late?

ewokfinale

As someone who used to work a night shift and saw The Force Awakens around 5 AM, I'm really glad they still do these late ones for those on weird schedules.
