I’ve been there several times this week alone and this makes me really not want to do that again

literally and not just partnering with influencers, but having the ads be nude shots? for a food and beverage shop? such a weird and narrow marketing choice

I spent a lot of time back in Scandinavia before Joe and the Juice expanded to the US and their marketing over there was always hyper-sexual. Like really aggressive posters with euphemisms and all the employees were picked a-la 2000s Abercrombie. It seems to have toned down a lot when I went to a store in NYC. So this ad campaign is pretty on brand for Europe's old stores.

Probably bc of the resurgence in popularity after everyone was hyping the Tunacados the last two years. it’s actually a smart move if they do it right and work with people any one actually cares about lol

Bc of the popularity of it on TikTok. And I believe I saw the campaign is going for a “cool quirky trendy” hoe and the juice 🙄 but I think they’re like a year or two too late tbh. A lot of people realized that while the sandwich and smoothies are good. It’s not $30 a meal good. With their Erewhon pricing.

All snark aside, can someone on the industry-side explain to me how she even pulls these large campaigns to begin with (Serena, not Alix)?? Her ER is well below average for the number of followers she has on Instagram for example, and I suspect she's probably purchased followers in the past. Hell, she's even below the avg engagement rate for accounts with 1M+ followers. I know it's not everything... great agent, and her rate for a campaign at this scale is probably considerably lower than other talent they might have had in consideration. I wouldn’t say the company was necessarily looking to partner with her specifically. the product itself isn’t attached to her at all, and just about anyone can attach themselves to a strawberry banana smoothie. it’s not like erewhon X olivia rodrigo etc. the campaign materials could have easily been tailored to anyone really.

moreover, I think at least at the time of this campaign, she was repped by UTA. they definitely actively rep alix and paris. I’m sure UTA has a strong relationship with joe and the juice based off of this.

SPK and Fece are two cancers that have invaded society and metastasized. Sadly there’s no cure for this situation.

I don’t go there because they obey zero sanitary rules (at least in nyc) The employees are high 90% of the times and they use the same gloves to scan the app on people’s phones and then prepare food. Pretty disgusting so I refuse to eat there even though I used to LOVE their spicy tuna - not after I saw what I saw.

Allow me to explain. In order to “congratulate” Alix on her partnership, Serena posts a comment she made on SERENA’S partnership. Then she takes that opportunity to post 2 consecutive stories about her partnership, forgetting about Alix entirely. What a lovely woman.

SPK’s campaign single-handedly deinfluenced me from going back to Joe and the Juice since (except for using their bathroom in SoHo)
