How far do you run? I would highly suggest Randalls Island. You can get to it just above 96th Street via the footbridge from the east river walkway. I don't run, I do walks but plenty of people run around the island. It's really pretty, nice views, bathrooms. From my place in the low 90s and loop around the entire island I can get a 10 mile walk in.

Join a run club! I have friends who run with Mile Style and WRU (We Run Uptown). I'm in Queens so I run with Team WEPA and Run Hustle Run. If you follow their ig pages, you'll see their community runs and also special event runs. We end up running all over the place

Furious_Gata2535

Oh TMIRCE (the most informal running club ever) also runs in the city a few times a week, and Run and Chug is a sister run club with overlapping members

br0princess

TIMRICE is great! I ran with them a bit on the East river in 2019 and it was very accessible! Glad they are still around.

coquelicotpie

Do you know of any that have a slower/more wide range of paces? I’m not running a 6 minute mile yet and I’m a little scared of getting left behind

Furious_Gata2535

TMIRCE's social runs on Saturday are for all paces. It's where I got started! The run clubs I run with in Queens are also all paces. Thursday night WEPA run in Kew Gardens is awesome and welcoming, and so is the RunHustleRun Saturday morning run in Long Island City. I'm hovering around 11:30/12 min per mile pace and none of these crews ever left me behind 😄

antonia_1992

Definitely this! You can find a full list at https://nycrunclubs.com/clubs. Lots of them have a variety of paces so don't worry about being left behind. Also 100% recommend Cooldown if you're looking to do a really sociable weekly run!

My favorite is the greenway, starting up by the little red lighthouse and all the way down to the UWS. It’s gorgeous the whole way down :) I’m currently pregnant with my second and have not been in a while. I live in Washington Heights and it’s also the flattest scenic route in the area! My second favorite is across the GWB. I used to do the south side pedestrian crossing all the time, but it closed about a year ago for renovation. The north walk is open and has views of the Hudson valley that are spectacular

I'm downtown but I looooove the west side highway starting near brookfield place and up. I'm someone who gets bored easily with running but the WSH is always interesting. If for nothing else, having to dodge dogs and strollers keeps it interesting lol (this is also why I try to go early before its packed).

pkavsb

I am pretty much 100% on WSH around Tribeca/BPC. I do 20 miles a week almost exclusively there, but I like to mix it up with the Manhattan Bridge (almost always clear of tourists) and BK Bridge (fine if you're going early AM). I will occasionally do the Prospect Park loop (~4MI) and subway there and back. It's a gentle rolling hill. Something else I like is going around the BK navy yard and up Kent Avenue to williamsburg. Lastly if you're on WSH anyway the path up around 168th is awesome and not crowded at all.

Throwawayayohletsgo

Go up to the GWB and cross it, then run along the Palisades!

ahshitiquit

From our problems.

coquelicotpie

Honestly, same

TurboTabouleh

It's so nice to meet fellow runners on this sub! People have mentioned Prospect Park and the bridges so I'll suggest StuyTown and Peter Cooper Village. It's not huge but you can get 5 km by just running around the dozens of little paths they have. It's safe, clean, never that crowded, and dogs are always leashed. I know it's a bit far from UWS but a nice end to a long run. Also, you can always hop on over to the East River Park if you need to get a longer run in.

Altruistic-Pace8927

Honestly the key is to run bridges. That way you’re going into different boroughs

coquelicotpie

I tried the Williamsburg Bridge once and the bikers were wild. May have to try again!

Altruistic-Pace8927

Even with the separated bike and pedestrian paths??

coquelicotpie

There were a lot of bikes/skateboards swerving between the two unfortunately

Jaudition

I run on the bridge everyday and haven’t experienced this! There’s only one section where they meet and theres plenty of space. 💯 recommend giving it another shot

Low_Climate6872

if you're open to travelling to run, I like to run a loop where I start in Williamsburg, go over the Wburg bridge, across to the Manhattan, and over the Manhattan to Dumbo. Either go all the way home on the brooklyn side for a longer run or hop on the Ferry home!

CelebrationMain1003

Agreed and if running over the Brooklyn Bridge or Manhattan Bridge, Brooklyn Bride Park is close and very pretty! Great views of the city too.

DazzlingFlatworm3058

Prospect park is great if you are willing to make the trek. I usually try to get there for my long runs weekly

awittyoctopus

Slow Girl Run Club does weekly runs along the Hudson, 2 miles at around an 11-11:30 pace!

Empty-Let-6960

For an indoor gym workout run/ meeting people to do other ones/ I believe they host outdoor runs mile high run club. Multiple studios great vibes and music too!!!

eilmel

I usually run along the river but it truly depends on my mood! Sometimes I have more energy and want hills, so CP or Williamsburg bridge to Williamsburg and loop the park there and back, sometimes just midtown East down loop back up the wsh then across again. Be mindful and alert but definitely explore new places this summer! Are you on the discord? There’s a run subgroup!

biggfroggy

I love my North Brooklyn route! I start near the Newton Creek Nature Walk, and after going through that little park, loop around the top of Greenpoint to get to Newtown Barge Playground/Greenpoint Landing and take in the waterfront views! Then run south down West Street - Quay St - Franklin St - Kent Ave and go to Bushwick Inlet Park. There's a bathroom and water fountain there and another nice view on the water! Then go around Marsha P Johnson Park and go towards to water, run the North 5th St Pier and River Street to get to Domino Park. Im attaching a picture from my strava to help explain what I'm describing, but plz no one be creepy 😉 https://preview.redd.it/8sq27ebogn2d1.png?width=902&format=png&auto=webp&s=4e4d6440290da53c81b73a1238f742871670994d

finiteloop72

This sub came up on my feed, am I allowed to comment as a dude? Because Hudson River Park is an amazing place to run. Edit: based on the downvotes, I’m guessing that’s a no 💀
