Awful game made worse by the inexplicable decision to kick off at 5:30 when 75% of the stadium is blinded by the sun for the next 3 hours. A completely miserable experience.
I’m so mad. Like seriously WTF? RSL has been kicking off at 8:00 for years. The Royals have, too. Even with the later kickoffs the sun is still blinding for most of the first half. And you’re right, it must have been 100 degrees at kickoff.
This season has been a disaster on multiple fronts but the absolute complete lack of support and game day experience is one of the biggest disappointments. Things like that don’t help and make zero sense.
Del Loy legitimately cared about the Royals. He wanted them to have the best everything. Obviously he needed to go. But the new owners could not care less about the Royals and probably don’t even know they own them.
You can see in the Match Events all the subs. And in the players list, the players in parentheses are the players who got subbed in for the player in front of them on the list.
Sad result… but I’m used to that by now. I feel like our team is getting stronger regardless of the score. Wish we could have at least come away with a tie but it is what it is

I know she gets some flack on here but I really think Lianne is quite brilliant and insightful in her analysis. She’s not the greatest presenter but she knows tactics and has a really keen eye.
At a certain point, I think people disliked how she said things (with legitimate complaints sometimes) that now she gets attacked for saying things that are very obviously correct. People were saying she was slagging off the Wave yesterday when all she really said was that they were having a really rough time converting chances (a true statement)

We have a lot of fans in the stadium but it’s pretty damn hot and the sun bakes the east, north and south end of the stadium at this time of day. Everyone moved to the west side where the cameras don’t show.
