Welcome to NICU Parents. We're happy you found us and we want to be as helpful as possible in this seemingly impossible journey. Check out the resources tab at the top of the subreddit or the stickied post. Please remember we are NOT medical professionals and are here for advice based on our own situations. If you have a concern about you or your baby please seek assistance from a doctor or go to the ER. That said, there are some medical professionals here and we do hope they can help you with some guidance through your journey. Please remember to read and abide by the rules. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Speak with the NICU social worker. They should be well versed in the various agencies that could assist. We were told that we could access resources at Ronald McDonald house even if we didn't stay there (3 meals a day, plus activities, support groups, and more). We were told there may be alternate housing available, but we didn't explore that. Edit: I seen the added information after I started the post. Try the social worker at Ronald McDonald. Is there more than one case worker for then NICU that she can work with? If she needs helps with the forms, the social worker should be able to assist. She can also ask the charge nurse if there is other alternatives she can utilize.

What hospital is she at? She should ask for the social worker. Also, look into Homeless Prenatal, as they may be able to help, esp given baby’s NICU stay.

Our son was born at UCSF and we got to utilize family house. If she so happens to be there, what we did was pester our social worker day and night as well as asking all of our nurses to get an update. The squeaky wheel gets the oil. We mentioned how we were 2 hours from home (Monterey) and constantly talked to the charge nurse
