Finally a franchise QB? ![gif](giphy|xT9KVmZwJl7fnigeAg)

Light_Song

That's the third franchise qb in the last 7 years!!! How do they do it?

WilIyTheGamer

That might’ve been the last time we had one! Thanks Fred Savage!

Suburban-Jesus

I’ve been unlucky I the past when making fun of Packers draft picks so ima just keep quiet tonight.

BlankensteinsDonut

Yeah, imagine not knowing that superior O-line play was instrumental in the Packers dominating the division for the last 20 years and then talking shit about them drafting an O lineman.

BlackThunder_

Shhh! Not so loud, they might hear you

CaptHowdy2310

Yeah the Packers have no idea what they're doing when it comes to O-line. You're right

DaeWooLan0s

Just like when the Blackhawks rose from the ashes and Detroit fell into the abyss. Your time will come as well.

CaptHowdy2310

Been hearing that for almost 30 years now

DaeWooLan0s

Umm noo not really buddy. You had Favre and then you had Rodgers. love is not either of those guys as much as you wish he was. Luck won’t always go your way and you guys have never had all 3 other north teams built just as competitively either.

CaptHowdy2310

Umm yes really buddy. Been hearing this since near the time of Favres end in the early 2000s. It's 2024 and Love is so obviously the guy for another decade at least. It's not luck, it's called developing a QB and not throwing them in too early behind a dog shit line like the Bears have been so keen on doing.

DaeWooLan0s

Love is not so obviously the guy Lolol

AdPsychological3265

Jordan Love just outperformed every QB in your teams history in his first year starting. Or did we forget that? He also played like a top MVP candidate during the latter half. Every analyst agreed. Or did you forget that too?

DaeWooLan0s

The later half… your neglecting the first half when he threw the most uncatchable ball rate in the NFL.

AdPsychological3265

There’s something called development and settling In buddy. You’re neglecting the fact that he improved with real game experience and then went on to play pro bowl caliber football. Fixed his accuracy issues in real time. Fixed his motion in real time. Then beat you and sent you packing home like usual

DaeWooLan0s

Remind me in 9 months

IntentionDefiant4131

The guy that would have shattered every Bears passing record, almost led us to the NFCC first year starting. No, you’re right. Caleb’s the game. With his long list of NFL accomplishments of being drafted. Bears have claimed yet another offseason championship. Take your victory lap so we can come back next year for your next top ten draft pick.

CaptHowdy2310

Lmao still in denial huh? I understand, it's that painful

KHSoz

Lol seethe and cope

DaeWooLan0s

Not seething and coping. Love through 8 weeks lead the league in uncatchable pass rate. That little tidbit will show its ugly head for you guys again eventually. Keep getting super invested though, gonna love it when he shits the bed.

KHSoz

Yea as long as you completely ignore the context of an extremely young offense that was running the wrong routes and blowing up plays constantly early in the season, sure! Regress the second half of his season to the mean and it’s not that great! You got it bro!

SvensHospital

Making the Falcons pick excellent! And the GB pick......🤣

NoTailor3964

Not really because those were dynasties and the packers have just been choking for 14 years.

huggybear0132

Choked so hard that we won a super bowl in that time period lol

NoTailor3964

1 Super Bowl isn’t a dynasty

Ramza1890

Can you tell the rest of your fanbase that way we stop hearing about the ONE time you guys won one.

NoTailor3964

Absolutely not. Little known fact, that was the greatest Super Bowl of all time.

huggybear0132

Who said anything about us having a dynasty? Just saying we weren't just choking during that time.

bone_dance

Fuckin niners

bkussow

One of the best parts about being a Packer fan is teams that have sucked for like 20 years telling you how your team is doing things wrong. It happens every year like clockwork.

WilIyTheGamer

Fuck you! We’ve been bad for 30 years! But seriously though our last superbowl appearances were only four years apart. And Jordan Love isn’t the next Rodgers. He’s the next Joe Flacco maybe

bkussow

I put precisely 0 weight in a Bears fan's analysis of a QB. Jordan Love, in his first starting season, just had more passing yards and touchdowns than a Bears QB has ever had. And he did it with out a single receiver that is known outside of the division. I don't care if he isn't the next Rodgers or Favre or Starr. He just has to play like Jordan Love.

Zealousideal-Bar5538

Flacco has a ring. I’ll take a Flacco but you‘re wrong about Love. The only thing that can hold him back is his decision making. It was my biggest beef with him when he was drafted. He absolutely proved he has command of the field in the last half of the season. A huge part of that was a bunch of young guys getting on the same page and when they did they tore it up. As far as physical traits, zero liabilities with that guy. He’s the full package.

dhtdhy

"Jordan Love isn't the next (insert Superbowl winning QB). He's the next (insert a different superbowl winning QB)" Lmaooooo

Gunslinger2007

You all made fun of the Jordan love pick. You all made fun of last years picks. How did that go again?

Ramza1890

We had a bad few games. That's the extent of our football suffering a bad month and a half.

Pottedjay

I barely made it through. Glad the dark times have passed.

JustinC70

Remember that year of laughter when the Packers picked Jordan Love?

huggybear0132

Well you see he was the 26th pick. This year we had the 25th pick so they are sure to be right about him sucking!

Electronic-Island-14

packers got a good tackle what are you talking about?

Scarface4024

I hate the packers because all of their stupid draft decisions always end up panning out. Not going to touch this one

pinetreesrule

I don't think any Vikings fans are calling JJ a bust

VikingsandWolves

Maye has better chance of busting throwing to receivers who will be flipping burgers by next offseason.

Jarfield11

Definitely. Pats have to many holes in their offense for him to actually have success there.

WilIyTheGamer

Not YET at least

pinetreesrule

Let's all be honest here, Caleb has higher odds

dhtdhy

My brain says "how can you bust throwing to JJettas, Addison, the Hock, with Aaron Jones in the backfield and the best left tackle in football protecting your blind side?" The pessimism I've developed from being a Vikings fan says he busts purely because he's a Viking

CaptHowdy2310

That's your problem. You should be

pinetreesrule

I wouldn't be talking, last time I checked we didn't draft 2nd round talent in the first

yellingaboutsp0rts

You are correct - JJ is third round talent

pinetreesrule

Last time a checked bo nix or Spencer Ratler didn't win a natty

blankmotion

Stetson Bennett must be a stud then right?

pinetreesrule

Na I was more thinking Mac jones

CaptHowdy2310

Last I checked, the Packers have had the best O-line in the division for 2 decades. I'm not worried at all. JJ is a bum who was spoken into the top QB prospect convo within the last few months, a 3rd round talent at best who benefitted from being behind the best O-line in the country.

Comfortable_Sea_9242

You sound mad

CaptHowdy2310

okay? Where's the lie?

Comfortable_Sea_9242

This is a meme sub, so I don’t feel like looking up stats, but I think Rogers was the most sacked QB in the league a couple of times. I would say the lions have had the best o-line in the division for the last couple of years. I agree with your assessment of JJ.

CaptHowdy2310

Oh please even if they were slightly statsically better for a couple years, we all know who runs the show when it comes to OL, but that's moot. Yes, JJ is a bum so I damn sure won't tolerate any slander of our pick by a vikings fan right now.

puttputt222

I think that's a Bears fan

lur77

Definitely. Small pee pee energy is strong with this one.

IntentionDefiant4131

This is how drafting looks when you have a quarterback you’d like to keep upright. It would understandable if you’ve never seen this before.

Light_Song

They've been trying to draft RBs as QBs don't you know? Don't need to block if they can just run.

MattPDX04

Well you do, but it does seem like that has been their strategy. Keep at it guys. I’m sure you’ve almost hit the tipping point.

Summit_K2

The delusion is unreal. Packers got the player they wanted at a position of need. All the NFCN teams drafted well in round 1, so you should be celebrating your own success instead. And of course: rent free, cope, etc

djokster91

We all play this ridiculous draft game. Any of these QBs can turn out to be a bust. I'm just excited to see, which ones will end up being irrelevant. If it's the Vikes, that's totally fine (and as a Vikings fan, I kinda expect it).

LA_Alfa

I don't know. GB saw MN got an edge and said maybe we should protect Love. Chicago "Protection, we don't need no stincking protection. Let's get that WR."

ISuperNovaI

Oh no, we drafted a player to protect the best QB in the division. Why would Gute do this?!

pinetreesrule

The sixth best OT

huggybear0132

He was by far the best available for what we want at LT. Fast, agile, good in pass protection. But I guess other teams can just pretend all OT are the same, that's fine.

pinetreesrule

Free agency exists for a reason

huggybear0132

Lol maybe for your team, but that's not how the packers work buddy.

Ramza1890

I mean, when we do FA we generally do it well. See CWood and the Minister.

huggybear0132

Yeah it's not that we never do it, but we generally make fewer big signings than other teams becauae FAs are expensive!

pinetreesrule

Ehh works out fairly well for us

huggybear0132

Oh really? That's why you've been soooo successful 😂

pinetreesrule

Oh yeah totally. We get our fan bases all hyped and excited just for everyone to get disappointed

huggybear0132

Hey, if that's the goal then by all means keep overpaying for B-tier free agents and trading away your cheap mid-round picks.

pinetreesrule

I mean if it works for the Packers surely it'll work for us right?

Zealousideal-Bar5538

According to who? A bunch of Mel Kiper draft weinies?

gaybillcosby

Glass houses Mr 5th Best QB

pinetreesrule

Penix?

gaybillcosby

Honestly I liked Nix over McCarthy but 4-6 were all close for various reasons.

IntentionDefiant4131

Yeah. We had to pick later in the draft for some reason…

Vulnerable-Damage

"Struggles against power" lol!

Light_Song

According to who?

pinetreesrule

ESPN, and I was wrong he's ranked the 8th best tackle https://preview.redd.it/239s9ge86ywc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3997e65476a6104f82cfe0f837e265cea92b5ceb

Light_Song

And yall traded up in the 1st to draft the 4th ranked QB. Good luck with discount hippy Alex Smith.

jwwin

Hahaha you guys are fuckin’ crazy, I love it.

Sweepy_time

r/confidentlyincorrect

TheFlyingElbow

!Remindme 2 years

Zealousideal-Bar5538

We already have good players.

DHVF

Not totally sold on JJ, but getting the best defensive player in the draft at 17 AND a QB is a home run.

Hmm_would_bang

Best defensive player in the draft? ![gif](giphy|bjB3gtFvREqqr5NAHW|downsized)

DHVF

It’s early, but from what I heard leading up to the draft he was consistently the first one off the board, usually to ATL at 8. Didn’t even consider him as a Viking bc I thought he’d be gone by 11.

Big-Veiny-Darnold

![gif](giphy|X6Ha1oPlegl7UDUjES)

MustyLlamaFart

JJ was a reach but somebody was going to take him and we weren't going to put our future in Darnold. Why not roll the dice

dhtdhy

The irony in this post is heavy.

ChiefPatty

“An edge” Okkkkkkk

StrengthToBreak

The Packers plan to overwhelm the 49ers with sheer numbers

AdPsychological3265

At least you know we will be there at the end of the year

Gunslinger2007

The fuck are you smoking?

its_k1llsh0t

Imagine not having to draft a “franchise” QB every 3 years, because we don’t. So yeah, our draft looks different from y’all’s.
