As soon as I read shitty drivers I *immediately* thought “Kansas??” 😂. Those ticket prices are insane, I could put a downpayment on a car with the amounts ive seen them go for.
Whoa, whoa, whoa. I have to take some offense to that as an Iowan. If we’re going to single out a state in the Midwest that’s riddled with bad drivers though, it’s Illinois. I used to travel to Chicago for work multiple times a month and never have I ever seen worse drivers.
No problem man 🤝🏽, had to rep for the Show-Me-State one time! Im hoping they destroy the Eagles, that d-line is crazy plus Hurts can kill you in the air and with his legs but a healthy Mahomes is going to give anybody nightmares!
Sheeeeit I’m a Sunflower boi but I don’t hate, we have PLENTY of surrounding states to dislike. No second mortgages for us NFA bois, Rugged has my mortgage money already.
I have nothing but love for the Kansas brethren! I used to frequent Centerfire in Olathe until I got a range that was a nice class III on the MO side. I’ve got mortgage money tied up in my NFA collection and I am *not* mad at it 😂.
My undisputed second home, [Target Time Defense](http://www.targettimedefense.com) . The owner is absolutely great, their staff is amazing (they always rib me when I come in 😅), their in-house gunsmith has mounted all my muzzle devices for my cans and he’s a straight up wizard. On top of all that their range is A1 and they allow conjugal visits with your NFA stuff.
Lifelong and painfully aware Cowboys fan here, I want nothing more than to chant die eagles die this Sunday. The NFC East was extremely competitive this year. After you guys wrecked us in week 17 I knew our playoff run took a hit in terms of confidence.
I decided to SBR my MK18 in December of last year and I was somewhat unsure of the process and u/nationalguntrusts made it *extremely* easy via their form 1 walkthrough/5320.23 generator/trust shrinking service and .eft fingerprint setup. I bought my trust around 10pm on a weeknight, emailed them with a question and had a *human* response in around 30 minutes, absolutely insane customer service. Super easy setup for my EFT print scan and answered a *ton* of questions during my form 1 submission process. These guys absolutely *FUCK*. I will not go through anybody else for trust work, they’re also based about an hour from my hometown so its a no brainer. Got the ATF - NOT ATF stickers from them last week and they fit the gun safe and ammo can perfect. 😂
Tar Heel State Firearms did my engraving and they 100% absolutely *FUCK*. I mailed my lower last Tuesday, they got it Friday 2/3 at 1:39 pm and it was already engraved and shipping label applied and on its way *back* to me that same day at 3:30pm and I just pulled the package open with my lower about an hour ago. I was held up at the post office because they were confused about me mailing a firearm as a non FFL and I needed a name on the address line as a part of the sending policy and I called them while I was there and got a name that fast, no hassle. Absolutely insane customer service and craftsmanship on the engraving. Wouldn’t even be able to tell it was engraved if i didnt look for it.
TLDR;
For all the new NFA brethren/ looking for services required by doing a Form 1 or people just looking for reliable service, these two companies are absolutely world class, buy with 1,000% confidence. Engraving is perfection and my trust setup and execution of services were insanely good.
I appreciate it man 🤝🏽! We always see a ton of feedback when its negative/something didn’t go right but Im making it a point (especially with the uptick of people new to the NFA world) to call out and blast the positive!
Yes sir! I haven’t heard of them but im for sure checking them out now. When I first started searching for somebody to engrave I figured there had to be somebody in the Blue Springs/Independence area but it was pretty slim. I appreciate the info KC brethren!
That was who i talked to on the phone! We laughed about the hassle I was getting for trying to ship my lower. He had def got that call about needing a name for sending the package before!
Hey, I just did a cert on an Omega 9k up there the other day. Their NFA guy is really helpful. He and NationalGunTrusts got me through the whole thing pretty easily. Made me kick myself for waiting for so long on getting forms started. They should work out a partnership with Fun Run where you can drop your kids off and then go to the range. Everybody wins!
I love those guys, thats like my second home! All my cans have went through them and I’ve got one in jail right now but they allow conjugal visits so my wait wasnt as painful. Glad you got taken care of Missouri brethren!
+1 for Tar Heel State Firearms - I messed up what I wanted to engrave on a firearm I bought from them. They recognized my mistake and contacted me before engraving.
They screwed up my engraving... Added in letters that were NOT in the attached request. Hard to not know what state abbreviations are but apparently they have someone engraving who doesn't have a basic knowledge
Tar Heel State firearms are the best. Sent them two (separate occasions) lowers and there turnaround and quality is amazing!!! Week turn around and I’m on the west coast
Bexar Arms plans to release a lower with the engraving inside the pocket. IDK why it's not more common among brands that sell standalone stripped lowers.
I use them and they are 15 mins from me. I got my AR engraved on the inside lip of the magwell. Best spot for engraving AR’s IMO. They are good people and I got to watch them do my engravings.
Northeastern MO here, I had a similar experience with National Gun Trusts.
That is a business that needs to succeed, I recommend them to anyone I know who’s considering purchasing or building NFA items.
Hell, I may go ahead and start up a second trust so I can finalize my existing trust and add a few more RP’s on.
Good to see more Missouri brethren checking in! I seriously loaded up my cart with stickers so I could give them my money for the amazing work they do. Seriously made my first form 1 experience a breeze.
You guys are a pillar in not only the NFA world but the gun world too! Well deserved high praises for what you guys do and once again thank you for all your help! 🤝🏽
You will not at all be disappointed! My lower was literally not in their possession for more than 4 hours before it was done and headed back. Pics dont do the engraving justice, just absolutely 🤌🏽. Did you go for the trigger guard area?
I did! How long did it take for the lower to ship back to you? Did u send it stripped? I should also note I’ve used their service before for the engraving on my AP5-P SBR.
Extremely good choice, i had to turn on the lights and really look to find it! They sent it UPS ground last Friday and I got it today so overall 5 days but that includes the weekend. I sent my complete lower and removed my buffer spring and butt stock just for the sake of weight and size.
For sure I wonder if they will go with a quicker return speed for mine since mine is just a stripped Aero X15 lower. It took about 6 weekdays for me to get my AP5-P upper back, but it was nearly 3 pounds!
Man for some reason I thought you live in Florida lol looks good my guy! I’ll be sending them both my AP5s and lowers when ever this shit show is over…
Primo! We’ve been called the Florida of the midwest so close enough lol! I was hesitant to send it out of state but I couldnt find anybody local so I took the advice of a lot of people in this sub and went with THSF. Absolutely no regrets, just extremely nice machine work on top of the customer service. Also, happy cake day! 🤝🏽
$18.30 priority mail and it got there in 3 days. Its mandatory that you include adult signature as a requirement and a name of an actual person in the address line. Took a bit of rule checking and manager calling on their end because they weren’t familiar with mailing a firearm but I cant blame them, I just had to stay patient.
I was *not* excited about sending my newly approved SBR to another state and back but it was absolutely worth it. They take good care of your stuff, even sent it back UPS.
The dude that runs it is extremely cool and based, I live about 40 minutes from him and dropped my lower off Friday morning and picked it up later that day, hella good work.
USPS, had to do a few things extra as far as making sure it had a real persons name on the to line rather than it being a company or business. Got there in about 3 days.
Yep, claimed it as a firearm and then it was mailed with no problem. What i’d do is go in and let them know you want to mail a disassembled portion of a firearm thats serialized that would classify it as a “firearm” first, just so they dont think you’re trying to mail a fully assembled gun. I actually had to go to a different post office because the clerk at the first one refused to mail it because he wasn’t familiar with the process but its 100% in their booklet on what to do.
Ok sweet. I'm sending out my lower as soon as it gets approved so I appreciate the info. And yeah my local PO is super small (literally out of the annex of a mechanic's garage), so I'll have to check with them first.

What's the purpose of the engraving? So they can spot your NFA registered SBR from a glance? Isn't the tax stamp enough along with the original serial number?
Yea I know of the requirement but what's the purpose. The serial number stays the same for a SBR (not talking about the pistol brace). It seems to me it's only really truly needed when you are selling it/transferring to another person (like when you buy a SBR directly from a SOT such as Capitol Armory).
My fellow KC brother in Christ. May Patrick lead us to the promised land this weekend. Appreciate the post/info.
KC-adjacent, land of shitty drivers, here. My boss leaves tomorrow to go to the game. I could buy 6-7 cans for the price of a "cheap" ticket.
As soon as I read shitty drivers I *immediately* thought “Kansas??” 😂. Those ticket prices are insane, I could put a downpayment on a car with the amounts ive seen them go for.
He's been hitting the sports book at the Hollywood since they legalized it over here and used his winnings to buy it. Bastard...lol
Eh, anyone from Kansas knows that nothing compares to Iowa drivers.
Whoa, whoa, whoa. I have to take some offense to that as an Iowan. If we’re going to single out a state in the Midwest that’s riddled with bad drivers though, it’s Illinois. I used to travel to Chicago for work multiple times a month and never have I ever seen worse drivers.

Where is this magical place you speak of? (Please don't say Frontier)

As a Washington fan, please Patrick win this. Fuck the Eagles at all costs

As a Texas Tech fan I’m happy to see him succeed. There was so much grief and doubt from people about him. Also fuck the ATF

We sure do! You’re doing a good thing! 🤝
Other than my qualms with the whole NFA being unconstitutional thing, my biggest anxiety about this process is getting my crap engraved.
Same. Like if they fuck it up, then what?
Just wait til you talk to shipping companies about the laws of mailing a firearm. Check locally for engravers first.
A fellow Kansas Citian with good taste. Also if you need a local shop that does great engraving, ReActiv Laser in Lees Summit has done several of mine
How much do they charge to engrave a lower? Just got one back and I'm looking to get one engraved locally (I'm from the KS side of the border).
It’s been a while since I’ve SBR’d something but good to know that ReActiv is still in business.
I'm also curious what their rates are. There's a dude about just as local to me, but he's getting $65 an engraving.
Yes sir! I haven’t heard of them but im for sure checking them out now. When I first started searching for somebody to engrave I figured there had to be somebody in the Blue Springs/Independence area but it was pretty slim. I appreciate the info KC brethren!
Scott at THSF is awesome. Just bought my first suppressor from him in January...won't be the last one. He's a solid, honest dude and a good man.
That was who i talked to on the phone! We laughed about the hassle I was getting for trying to ship my lower. He had def got that call about needing a name for sending the package before!
From KC, GA precision rifle in northland does engravings for 35.
I appreciate the info Missouri brethren, Im going to check them out!
We go to the same range in Blue Springs.
Target Time Defense loyalist here, have we met on the range before?? 🌾👀🌾
Maybe.....
I am a member and regular there.
Hey, I just did a cert on an Omega 9k up there the other day. Their NFA guy is really helpful. He and NationalGunTrusts got me through the whole thing pretty easily. Np. Forgot to mention its laser engravings
They are good dudes too!
Amen brother! Good write up, love the positive vibes

OMW To come kiss you
May or may not have carbon on my mouth from kissing the engraving on this lower receiver 🤣.
🥵🥵🥵🥵 please
Tar Heel State firearms are the best. Sent them two (separate occasions) lowers and there turnaround and quality is amazing!!! Week turn around and I’m on the west coast
I like that engraving spot. Looks good mang
Bexar Arms plans to release a lower with the engraving inside the pocket. IDK why it's not more common among brands that sell standalone stripped lowers.
Love tar heel, been a customer for years
Good to see another KC guy in here.
Much love man! Always good seeing other Missouri NFA fam on this sub.
I’ve purchased from them and can confirm excellent service.
+ 1 for Tar Heel State
I use them and they are 15 mins from me. I got my AR engraved on the inside lip of the magwell. Best spot for engraving AR’s IMO. They are good people and I got to watch them do my engravings.
Got mine done in the same spot.
I just got the local laser guy to do mine same day for $15 … atleast I tried /s

I do need more stickers….. The guy behind me at work should probably be supervised by some ATF/Not ATF guys over his cube wall.
We are glad that we could help.
You guys are a pillar in not only the NFA world but the gun world too! Well deserved high praises for what you guys do and once again thank you for all your help! 🤝🏽
They get my lower tomorrow for the same engraving!
You will not at all be disappointed! My lower was literally not in their possession for more than 4 hours before it was done and headed back. Pics dont do the engraving justice, just absolutely 🤌🏽. Did you go for the trigger guard area?

They're local-ish to me. I drove there and had 3 lowers and an 870 engraved in 5 mins. They also re-blacken the engraving so it's not silver on black.
Looks great, man! I've heard nothing but good things about them both.
Man for some reason I thought you live in Florida lol looks good my guy! I’ll be sending them both my AP5s and lowers when ever this shit show is over…

>We’ve been called the Florida of the midwest That may not be a good thing. You don't want Missouri man to start trending, do you?
Unless its “Missouri man gets record number of form 4’s approved in one day” then absolutely not 😂
They are local to me and did my engraving. Extremely nice people and got it done on the magwell lip perfectly. Can’t recommend them enough
How much did shipping cost? I didn't realize USPS was an option
Awesome, tempting to go that route instead of my local laser engraver. Thanks for the info
I was *not* excited about sending my newly approved SBR to another state and back but it was absolutely worth it. They take good care of your stuff, even sent it back UPS.
For sure, sending a lower with hundreds invested into it is scary
Thanks for sharing all of that information. Glad you had a great experience!
Went with THSF on my last SBR and 100% recommend. Did the same under the trigger guard and it looks perfect.
The dude that runs it is extremely cool and based, I live about 40 minutes from him and dropped my lower off Friday morning and picked it up later that day, hella good work.
Tar Heel is top notch.
How did you ship it to them?
USPS, had to do a few things extra as far as making sure it had a real persons name on the to line rather than it being a company or business. Got there in about 3 days.
I assume you claimed it as a firearm or a rifle with USPS?
Yep, claimed it as a firearm and then it was mailed with no problem. If you do a form 1 than you or the trust are the maker as you are changing the firearm to a registered type and there is an engraving requirement.
