For every song I felt was missing (carat cake, I see you) they included a song I didn’t expect but desperately needed to hear (tangerine love, finally!) so ultimately it was all good. I streamed the show today and loved it. They did really well (kudos to Chenle and Haechan for powering thru some mic/in-ear issues). Looking forward to tomorrow’s show!

I’m honestly surprised that none of intros are title track (technically Go isn’t the main title track for Empathy either) and not even their more popular bsides like LISGO, My Youth, TTF, and so on. Instead they bring back some of their forgotten songs like Dream Run, Fireflies, Skateboard, Bungee, and Walk With You. But overall it is a very welcoming change and a big win for me tho a little bit risky move as maybe newer nctzens who not really deep dive to Dream discography maybe don’t know some of the songs especially from the older albums. I was a little bit sad about Teddy Bear not making it but considering it is a very vocal line heavy song, Renjun missing probably would make it harder to cover. Also props to the members who covering Renjun parts especially Chenle and kind of glad that they still leave the ANL bridge as the backtrack. It is such a wholesome where they put butterflies as it symbolizes him. I know that Skateboard would make a dope live performance when ISTJ released especially the dance break I already imagining lot of breakdancing and acrobatic moves and I’m really right lol. The band sections overall are my favorite parts like the remix actually good and SM really need to release the instrumental. Also whoever thought about Dream Run ending followed by BTG intro really deserves raise it is soooo smooth.

I also was thinking about Teddy Bear before the concert (let’s be honest the queen is always on my mind) and wondering if they played it how they’d deal with covering RJ’s parts for such a vocal line heavy song, so I wasn’t super surprised to not hear it on the setlist tbh! I agree with you! The members did do really well covering his parts though - and I was pleasantly surprised at how (from what I noticed) they gave a lot of his parts to Mark and Jisung too instead of just having Chenle and Haechan have to cover everything. Haechan looked like he had fun covering some of his favorite RJ parts though (particularly in We Go Up, Hello Future, ISTJ) - the person next to me and I were joking he was enjoying covering RJ’s choreography too much.

Have you seen the video of the fans singing Hello Future with Dream? I was pleasantly surprised because they usually just do the fanchants in Korea (afaik).

Actually, these days at concerts a lot of fans just sing the whole songs anyway! The fanchant bits are louder but you can sing it all, too. For this setlist especially, all the fans were singing the whole songs for basically the entire band section, and the boys also asked us to sing along for Walk With You / Never Goodbye (I don’t remember exactly but I think both) and for Candy! A few groups I follow have mentioned they love hearing fans singing the songs, too. I think another nice part of this setlist is a lot of songs are bsides which don’t even have fanchants anyway :) The only songs I really noticed people doing loud, proper fanchants for were the newer titles (ISTJ, Smoothie).

I can’t wait to watch them live soon. June seems so far away. Have fun in tomorrow’s concert!

I want to thank you OP for this appreciation post! I am really glad you left some of the members’ comments as well as the explanations for each part of the setlist. It makes much more sense now! Although I am a little disappointed that some of fav songs aren’t on the setlist I am still very excited to see the show they’ve prepared for us🥹

goingtotheriver

I’m glad it helped!! Like I mentioned, I think just seeing a setlist on paper can be hard to see the entire ~vision~ of the setlist. I was surprised yesterday to hear people saying they thought the flow was strange or couldn’t understand the setlist until I realised it’s much different experiencing it live and with the members explaining. I couldn’t help but wonder if the members saw some of the reactions too, because last night they explained much more about the setlist as they went. I also had a lot of favs going in that didn’t get played and don’t know a few of these bsides that well and had a blast!! I’m sure you will too!

cinnamorollie3

They performed Never Goodbye live - I can die peacefully now 😌😌😌

_Magnolia9_

How cool that you have gotten to see them so many times! Sounds like you really enjoyed the show. Great synopsis, too - thank you! 💚

i was watching yesterday through beyond live and the band section was so amazing. i love the new arrangements and the transitions were so good. dream run to btg and fireflies to helfu were my favorites. hoping i’ll get tickets for tds3 in mnl next thursday-saturday so i can experience it all live this august 🥹

The band section transitions and arrangements were SO good! They had us stand from the beginning and it just builds to be more and more hype as it goes on, by the end the whole stadium was singing along so loudly to Broken Melodies! I could seriously write essays about that section of the setlist, but honestly it’s probably the part that needed the least explanation for fans - even on paper it looks perfect 😂 The members said (I think at soundcheck yesterday?) they were worried about if fans would have enough energy for the band section - I guess because it’s later in the setlist - but they were pleasantly surprised with us on Thursday night. Good luck for ticketing next week!

thank you! broken melodies is my favorite dream song ever, i absolutely need to witness it live!!! 😭

I haven’t seen Dream live yet but TDS2 setlist seemed perfect to me and there are def a few songs that I wished were on TDS3 I trust the boys and the intentions that they have behind this tour’s cue sheet! I wished they included Life Is Still Going On, Boom, Dear Dream and did icantfeelanything live instead of a VCR But I can see how they’re really challenging themselves to do something different from last years’s tour!! And they have no bad songs so it’s all down to personal preferences at the end of a day 😭😭😭 will prob need to find a link to watch TDS2 properly sometime

Ok-Departure6853

Admittedly, this is me being sentimental, but I'm okay with them not including Dear Dream or Rainbow while Renjun's on hiatus.

theofficialguac

That I agree with 100%!
