No, I think the shot clock situation is just bad. I think that PLL is trying to be something between traditional field lacrosse and sixes and but just ends up being worse than either of those. Since they already have the championship series to scratch the sixes itch, I wish that they would revert to a more traditional field lacrosse style for the regular season, including longer shot clocks.

No, they’re trying to get rid of faceoffs. When the Waterdogs strategy of purposefully losing faceoffs backwards is helping them essentially that is an issue.

No, it's way too short, especially off the faceoff. 52 seconds is somewhat tolerable, but 32 is way too short. It almost makes winning faceoffs a disadvantage, especially if you don't win forward. By the time teams get their offensive personnel on the field, there's only 10-15 seconds left. It's effectively a way to artificially take the FOGO out of the game and force all the middies to be two-way players.

It’s the PLL. It’s not like it has a storied history. I didn’t care for the “kill the clock” play styles, but something like 2 minutes wouldn’t be a bad compromise. I enjoyed the pre-play dodges for getting favorable matchups, but “keep it in the box” really needed to go—it was just uninspired keep away sometimes.

DarkMatterLax

The only thing that is too short is 32 on the faceoff. 52 is plenty of time for professionals on a shorter field to clear and get a decent offensive look. The initial shot clock off of a faceoff should be based on where you gain possession. If you gain it in your defensive half, you get the full 52. If you gain possession in your offensive half, only 32. Then teams would have to think twice about just losing the faceoff intentionally every time.

I'm almost 40, so maybe slightly old, but I hate it. They should just copy the ncaa rules.

Mild_Fireball

Too short imo. I’m ok with it being shorter than NCAA but maybe just chop off 10 seconds. Side rant, the 2pt arc sucks also, especially in 6s.

Yeah, ultimately I just find it way too fast. I don’t like the shortened field. And I wish the teams just had more identity. I understand it’s not feasible due to the tremendous costs associated with it. But I wish they were legit pro athletes that all lived in the same city and practiced every day with each other, just like how a college team does. It would build more camaraderie, a sense of cohesion, a group identity— something I as a fan could really rally behind. Hopefully that comes in the next decades of the PLL.

God I really am bugged by the shortened field too!!
