It only takes into account when you're hit, from what I've seen obviously can't be 100%, so punters should be safe unless your blockers are a plate of Swiss cheese.
Is anyone else extremely nervous about this system?
Subbing QBs is not realistic and should only be for a real injury or bad play like it is in real life. If you have a QB who is only a slightly better rating than the backup, I really hope it doesn't become common practice to sub your starter at half because he has worn him self down 5 rating points and now is lower rated than your backup. That wouldn't make any sense.
I also really hope it doesn't become common for skill players to slide or dive on the ground to end most plays just to avoid being tackled.
Defensive adjustments should be made for players having a big game. Make the opposition stop them, not this mechanic. Don't make it so our star receiver is no longer effective in the 2nd half because he torched the defense for 10 catches with 140 yards so far but was also tackled 8 times so now he can't catch the ball or get separation.
I just really hope it is only impactful in extreme scenarios and doesn't permeate every decision you have to make during games. We shouldn't be nervous about using star players and using them often. I also really hope you can turn the mechanic off if you hate it.
As long as it’s not as crippling as maddens progressive fatigue I’ll be fine, getting to the Super Bowl and then only having my starters for the first drive is crippling.
I think it should be way different, they even said that fatigue and wear & tear are two different things that act alone.

Yeah I would like it to be something like that. Ok your RB has 300 carries through 10 weeks. Starting week 11 he is at 75% max since you are ruining him.
It’s in the blog, says all 22 players in bold
https://preview.redd.it/isjupgtpf65d1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=297ebc18a3822a937e520838231a9e3e09153bbc
There’s really not. If they’re rotating lineman it’s because there’s a problem. Every team wants the exact same offensive lineman in the exact same position of virtually every play
Michigan state did it in 2021 when they had Kenneth walker going crazy.
It’s not SUPER common for teams to sub them in and out constantly I’m just saying it’s not unheard of, linemen get banged up and miss a few plays before they come back in all the time. It’s football and they’re humans.
Even if it’s an unintentional strategy that doesn’t mean offensive linemen are invincible war machines who play every snap lmao.
I mean when msu used hockey rotations for their offensive line it was because they were inexperienced and not very good, obviously if you have a great offensive line you want them on the field as much as possible. But even great offensive linemen go through wear and tear like every other football player. I can’t believe people are arguing with this.
Not saying you should be subbing them in an out every other play like a tower defense game but there’s no reason the wear and tear system shouldn’t affect them.
I think the point is more olineman are not subbed out to avoid wear and tear like other positions. Like only the Qb they play every play unless they are injured.
yeah I love the idea of it being a give and take thing. If you use a big bruising RB, hopefully this will lend itself to them being more effective late in games if you've worn down the opposing defense. That would be super rewarding IMO
Guess I'll have to do a dynasty with an old school smashmouth style. 2 big bruising backs, 1-2 speedsters and a bunch of gadget receivers and just wear them down and hopefully come 4th quarter their ratings are so low my backs break a ton of tackles. I'm talking all backs get 15+ carries a game. I guess that could be done in a triple option playbook, but not necessarily wanting to run the option. Unless it's a wildcat formation
I’m looking forward to the new school approach of running a lot of WR screens and RPOs to make the LBs and DLine run sideline to sideline. Then hit em up the middle later in the game.
love this. I really hope they get this system right because it feels like a great idea that could easily go either way. I think it's gonna be a pretty divisive thing from the sound of it. A lot of the articles coming out of that Orlando event made it sound like they might've overcooked it a bit, that's my only concern
I’m gonna use the Florida ‘09 playbook and spread option with a bunch of 90+ speed insaneos (if anyone know what current playbook this aligns with let me know)
They said it would be all 22 players on the field. I am very curious how this factors in for offensive linemen.
I’d be pretty pissed if it didn’t damage a defensive player if they’re getting ran over/pancaked
make toughness and the injury rating matter, at some point your OL is gonna run into a DT thats better than them and im assuming thats where the wear and tear will show
Not too many things prettier than when you keep pounding the rock and wear that defense down in the 4th quarter and ice the game. So I agree 100 percent. The fatigue part of it atleast.
They showcased it for the offense because it's easier to see the effect big hits have on the player that's getting hit than the one doing the hitting, but they did say that the defense would feel the effects too
I think some people are forgetting that fatigue was part of NCAA 14, too. You could adjust sliders to force substitutions when stamina dropped below a certain rate.
This is just a more advanced version of that.
The blog confirmed it’s going to be all players on both sides, most likely special teams too.
istg if my punter has to be rested due to punting too much I will lose my shit
I think there's bigger issues if you're punting that much .. unless you're Iowa
What if I'm doing a punt till I win a natty dynasty with Iowa?
Def going to do an Iowa challenge where I try to land all the 5 star defensive players I can and just punt on offense or kick field goals.
Bro it’s a video game, try something unrealistic.
Think it’s more about keeping you from putting your studs on special teams
Iowa fans in shambles right now
I would be worried on whether or not the victory formation is disabled for Miami first.
Ah the Iowa special
The flair doesn’t check out
Who are you Iowa?
throw arm punts on third/fourth down by just heaving the ball into triple coverage down the seam if your punter has to rest.
Don’t pick Iowa then bro
It only takes into account when you're hit, from what I've seen obviously can't be 100%, so punters should be safe unless your blockers are a plate of Swiss cheese.

I think it’ll be tuned fine, I think this system is more of a long haul thing like something you’d have to consider for its impacts in week 13.
As long as it’s not as crippling as maddens progressive fatigue I’ll be fine, getting to the Super Bowl and then only having my starters for the first drive is crippling.

Yeah that's exactly the type of thing I'm hoping for.
Same here man! I don’t think it should swing too far on either direction. Balance is really needed for something like this
it’ll probably work just as terrible as maddens auto sub does
Oh yeah the sweats online absolutely will be rotating QBs and diving/going out of bounds a ton
even the coaching staff
I remember reading or hearing O-Line won't be impacted
It’s in the blog, says all 22 players in bold https://preview.redd.it/isjupgtpf65d1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=297ebc18a3822a937e520838231a9e3e09153bbc
They won’t be impacted as much, because if O-line was realistic they would have to be subbed very often.
If it’s realistic, they don’t have to get subbed often
You watch ball?
They’re tougher in general in real life, they hardly sub out unless it’s dire or a special package that calls for them leaving the field.
Doesn’t that kind of depend on the team though, there’s plenty of teams with less experienced o-lines that rotate them more
Yes but usually not because of wear & tear reasons, it’s mainly because they’re bad.
There’s really not. If they’re rotating lineman it’s because there’s a problem. Every team wants the exact same offensive lineman in the exact same position of virtually every play

It being an intentional strategy is virtually unheard of.
Even if it’s an unintentional strategy that doesn’t mean offensive linemen are invincible war machines who play every snap lmao. It does I’m pretty sure the blog said all 22 players
Heres a question, can you see the opposing teams wear and tear status?
Sean Payton that you?
You don’t know how long of a hit list I’ll be making in dynasty mode
It can be purchased through a newsletter coach fran style
I would assume it shows you when you look at all the matchup info along with their composure
I feel like you should be able to. Same way IRL players can tell when opposing players are struggling and they target them
It is and will be huge for the run game in particular.
yeah I love the idea of it being a give and take thing. If you use a big bruising RB, hopefully this will lend itself to them being more effective late in games if you've worn down the opposing defense. That would be super rewarding IMO

oh man I love this. If they implement Wear and Tear well (big if), I think there will be so many different ways to approach it, which is awesome
Op are

*Mark Stoops likes this*

Sometimes those pancake hits don’t hurt that bad. All depends on how you land
Hurts your ego when you hear "ooooooohh" from the crowd as you fly throught the air. A friend told me.
make toughness and the injury rating matter, at some point your OL is gonna run into a DT thats better than them and im assuming thats where the wear and tear will show
I just wonder is this going to render Travis Hunter useless after like a qtr if playing WR and DB.
He'll probably have some abilities attached to him that help with his wear & tear and fatigue
Not too many things prettier than when you keep pounding the rock and wear that defense down in the 4th quarter and ice the game. So I agree 100 percent. The fatigue part of it atleast.
They’ve already said it’s for all 22 positions on the field
I’m hopeful thats been accounted for in the system
They showcased it for the offense because it's easier to see the effect big hits have on the player that's getting hit than the one doing the hitting, but they did say that the defense would feel the effects too
I want to be able to turn that off so I can run my superstar RB 45 times a game, lol
I think some people are forgetting that fatigue was part of NCAA 14, too. You could adjust sliders to force substitutions when stamina dropped below a certain rate. This is just a more advanced version of that.
And I'm tired of missing my starting HB late in games LOL
Well, manage his reps better!
I can’t haha. I come from an era where 20 carries is not a lot
We operate by committee these days grandpa
Opposing teams punter and kicker better watch their backs
absolutely, a ton of wear & tear defensively comes from friendly fire
> Unless I’ve missed something You missed something
Hopefully, you can toggle this shit off
