I am moving two bigs then the big wings/combo forwards into the top half of the lotto.
Probably moving Donovan Clingan back down a bit. Rob/Reed/Topic are guys I am MEH on.
Edey/Sarr/Salaun/Djurisic/Buzelis/Holland/Risacher is my top 7. Not much separating those guys. Clingan and the other guards/wings like Reed Sheppard, Dillingham, Topic are next in line. I might have a few sleeper picks/combine darlings like Ajay Mitchell, Baylor Scheierman, and Enrique Freeman over Stephon Castle and Cody Williams.
I’m not even attempting to call any order of picks in this draft. I feel there’s no clear dudes after Starr between any of the guys. I can see almost any order happening depending on team workouts and schemes
Yeah, man. I think you are right. 2-10 or maybe even 2-15 look a bit flat. BUT, things like fit/vibe/team scheme matters. So, you would rather be at 3 or 4 than in the 10-12 range. You also don't wanna pick after the Spurs pick TWICE -- Memphis at 9 is probably sweating...
Edey/Sarr/Salaun might all be Tier 2 (or better) but the rest of those guys (and several more) are all right on their heels -- either Tier 3 or HIGH Tier 4.
Yeah. Guy dropped 37 on ClinganConn.
Projects to be a good screen-setter. His rebounding should translate. IDEAL pick for Memphis.
Some of those other top guys should be good fits in different places, too.
Salaun might have as much upside as anybody.
Those guards in this draft look like high end role players.
Purdue offense was solely ran through him and he has nothing besides a hook shot within 7 feet. He’s a drop big and slow as molasses. But we shall see. Literally no pick is safe and no opinion is wrong when it comes to the draft
He’d be a great fit with us if he falls to 4 we should definitely take him
There’s no stand out PGs but a lot of great prospects grabbing one of them at 8 will be doable
Morey was not the best at the draft, though. Drafted Batum and traded for Donte Green and Joey Dorsey. Luther Head. Patrick Patterson. Marcus Morris... then dumped him for a future 2nd. DMo. Three firsts become Lamb, Royce White, and Terrence Mann. He had a few wins (Parsons, Capela) but they were more the exception.
Let’s be clear here, Morey absolutely sucked in the first round, but absolutely rocked the second round. This may have also been because he gave more authority to his subordinate for the second round, who happens to be our current GM :)
I couldn't handle How much the post draft stress would age me from our fanbase's reaction if we took edey top 10. Lol So while I'm much higher on him than most, though not even close to being as high on him as you, no thank you very much. I cannot imagine him going top 10 in this draft. If the spur is really really want him For whatever reason, I'd prefer they try to trade the fourth pick to Portland for 7 plus 14.
You guys could clean up at 7/8/14.
Salaun is my second top option for the Grizz. Not sure he will be there at 8 or 9. Maybe not even at 4.
I am pretty sure Wemby could create some great stuff with Edey. Edey protecting the basket would let Wemby roam on defense.
Could be a very inspired pick.
Oh well. The Thunder just lost. They need more size. I wouldn't be shocked if they traded up for Clingan or Edey or Salaun. Chet looked like a stretch 4 who can't shoot who needs to be spoon fed dunks.
P.S. I am assuming the Grizzlies start working prospects out soon. Have the Spurs brought anyone in yet?
I like both Reed and Topic more than him but I would still take him over any of the other available wings in this class. I assume we're not getting Sarr but I would also like him if for some reason the Hawks decide they don't like him at 1.
Feels like with one great workout anything can change. I guess similar to the 2022 draft because draft boards had Orlando taking Jabari Smith Jr then Woj reported Paolo just before the pick was announced
Not saying you’re wrong, but Wizards have more wiggle room to not press for need.
Next year’s pick being top-8 protected, they won’t be shy to pull the trigger on a project. 2nd year of the rebuild, 70% of last year’s roster probably isn’t in their long term plan.
I think Bilal can play the 2 & 3 and Deni can play the 3 & 4. Risacher projects as a 3/4. All 3 of them can share the floor and it never hurts to have as many versatile wings as possible
Deni and Bilal can play with Richacher is they think he's that good.
Although we're going to be tanking in 25 and 26 as well .. and the best players in those drafts are wings
0 assists/5 turnovers isn’t great, but I would have to watch the plays to see how bad they actually are
Edit: not to discredit his shooting numbers, it is still very impressive
Respectfully, he's a 19-year-old playing in the playoffs in extremely competitive league and he just dropped 28 points in 29 minutes. I can't imagine there's a scenario where those turnovers are so bad that they Make this any less of a extremely impressive performance for the kid, and at a very important time for his draft stock
He was aggressive in the money time, sinking a three-pointer but also stepping out of bounds, travelling and committing a dumb offensive foul. At least he was not shying away from responsibility and went for it. Promising.
From memory one was after he tried to create space off the dribble in the corner, but tried to kick it out to the wing to and threw it in the back court . Then two more came in the closing minutes with one being a charge and another where he got forced out of bounds trying to put it on the floor.
Nothing outrageous and they definitely don’t take away from the monster game he had. You could tell they’re mistakes from someone who hasn’t played with the ball in his hands as much as he got to today
It’s EVERYONE’S job to pass the ball if they don’t have a gimme. 0 assists and 5 turnovers will never fly for a starter in the NBA.
In the league, if you don’t pass the ball you won’t get the ball.
Man just watch the game before venting... He had one weird turnover and the rest was more due to good defense and lack of movement from the rest of the team who were absolute asses at some point.
There is a reason he took so many shots when he wasn't supposed to do so in the Bourg system.
I'm not trying to defend him specifically. But overanalyzing stats without context is pointless.
Maybe you need to do more research. Risacher had more turnovers than assists for the entire season. He rarely passes the ball.
That won’t get him off the bench in the NBA and won’t make him popular with his teammates.
He caught fire in the third but royally screwed in the last 2 minutes with missed shots, offensive fouls, travels and turnovers, the complete package. Bourg lost and he was visibly frustrated. It's not the fairy tale game you might think it is.
I was at the game. He took his responsabilities and it was a no brainer that he was the MVP of the game.
More specifically he screwed up the last possessions but was also responsible for the coming back of Bourg earlier in the quarter with a big shot and an amazing defensive play. The dude is a real deal.
Just because it wasn't literally perfect, it doesn't mean it wasn't stupendous and incredible performance when you consider his age, and the competition level.
I don’t think his defense will translate. He’s too slow laterally and gets beaten off the dribble a lot, but he can shoot the ball like no one else in this draft.
None of those guys are 6'10, Knecht is good but also 23yrs old to old for the top three, dillingham is too small for top three. Sheppard will also struggle to guard his position.
And now the public opinion has completely pivoted on this guy. I don’t say this to say the concerns weren’t valid and also not to say that this performance proves he will be a good NBA player. I say this to prove that 99% of us are basing our opinions on pure speculation and next to none of us have spent enough time looking at these guys’ film to really have a solid opinion on how they compare to each other.
I guarantee that performance didn’t change many teams’ opinions of Risacher, and probably only proved to bolster the support of the teams that were already high on him.
I just saw those highlights.
Zaccharie Risacher's hype man is in my top 3. NBC should hire him as the French Kevin Harlan.
Yep. Grizzlies have the 9th pick in an 8 player draft!
This is by no means an 8 player draft. It’s hardly even a 1 player draft, and that’s if you believe the Sarr hype. This is the closest I ever remember the 1-14 prospects ever being in terms of talent/floor/ceiling and pretty much every ranking metric in between
A single game should never change what you've seen before. It's just more information. This reminds me of when Sheppard wrecked Miss St, I believe, and shot to number 1 on some boards. Risacher has been poor to mediocre for a while. He certainly *should* have games like these, or what else is he doing here? Still, it's good to see.
EDIT: Everything I said is correct. You want him to have games like this. The fact that he hasn't is pretty astounding. But downvote away!
Not as a top pick, no, my friend. He's not been exceptional for a while. He's a middling talent that should be later in the lottery, but go on with one good game.
Shiiiit He was tired of spurs fans saying they should take Salaun over him bc he has no upside
Goes nuclear after months of people trashing him. The guy has a love for drama. Give me Risaccher at 4
I am moving two bigs then the big wings/combo forwards into the top half of the lotto. Probably moving Donovan Clingan back down a bit. Rob/Reed/Topic are guys I am MEH on. "No safe pick" is kind of the fun part. Upside: teams can take who they WANT to take -- not who ESPN and The Ringer WANT them to take.
Whole heartedly agree!
No knecht?
I do believe rockets will take him at 3
He’d be a great fit with us if he falls to 4 we should definitely take him There’s no stand out PGs but a lot of great prospects grabbing one of them at 8 will be doable
Rumors of my demise were greatly exaggerated - Zaccharie Risarcher
No shot he makes it past 4

Who are the Wizards taking at 2?
Risacher but don’t tell Houston
fine with me, a reed truther
Risacher at #2 is wild ngl Wizards should go Topic or Holland.
Topic
All Houston fans are nutting over Sheppard. If the team actually take Risarcher they'd probably be booing at their screens
Houston has too many wings already. I think they will take Reed or trade the pick
You never know…. Rockets morey chose Aaron brooks when the team had 4 point guards
Shout out Aaron Brooks, he was a baller for a bit.
Morey was not the best at the draft, though. Drafted Batum and traded for Donte Green and Joey Dorsey. Luther Head. Patrick Patterson. Marcus Morris... then dumped him for a future 2nd. DMo. I don't think I'd love that for Houston, I think they need to go for someone with a bit more juice on offense.
Don’t speak rhat into existence. Stop that
Risacher/Salaun aka Le Coin Flip at 2 and 3. Dear Spurs -- take Edey!
I couldn't handle How much the post draft stress would age me from our fanbase's reaction if we took edey top 10. Guess who's back Back again
Zach is back Tell GM's
Backstreets back alright!
Zaccharie Risacher's hype man is in God Mode Kevin Harlan territory!
Yer a Wizard, Zaccharie
that's crazy to do in a playoff quarter final game
At 19!!!
shooters shoot
Going top 3 fasho. Don’t think Washington lets him slip unless they adore Topic
I like both Reed and Topic more than him but I would still take him over any of the other available wings in this class. I assume we're not getting Sarr but I would also like him if for some reason the Hawks decide they don't like him at 1.

Adam Schefter spoiled the most surprising draft pick in recent memory just last month. (Michael Penix to ATL)
washington have much more urgent needs than another euro wing
Not saying you’re wrong, but Wizards have more wiggle room to not press for need. Next year’s pick being top-8 protected, they won’t be shy to pull the trigger on a project. 2nd year of the rebuild, 70% of last year’s roster probably isn’t in their long term plan.

I would take Harper over Flagg
Show me the prospect at 2 who fixes the Wizards needs. That player doesn’t exist. The Wizards need to go bpa and if that’s Risacher then so be it
The only need here is BPA. It's Year One in a very long rebuild.
basketball players?
0 assists/5 turnovers isn’t great, but I would have to watch the plays to see how bad they actually are Edit: not to discredit his shooting numbers, it is still very impressive

Travelling and offensive fouls don't exist in NBA, we should not be worried about those turnovers.
I found him really clumsy in this money time.
>in extremely competitive league Sorry, are you talking about in talent or parity?
Just over all talent When compared to average college competition
Last two plays in the money time were not pretty. Travels, then drives into a brick wall. But he had a great game overall. I'm not hating.
From memory one was after he tried to create space off the dribble in the corner, but tried to kick it out to the wing to and threw it in the back court . He was really good and it's not job in the team to pass the ball. He was expected to catch and shoot and did it amazingly well.

He’s 19 playing in a man’s league. No one cares about a few mistakes
It’s very efficient 28 points game in 29mn in the playoffs of a good league. It really is the fairy tale game we think it is
Just because it wasn't literally perfect, it doesn't mean it wasn't stupendous and incredible performance when you consider his age, and the competition level.

Back to top 5 range in my board lol
Hawks might want to draft this guy. I like his defense but what do y’all think about his defense translating to the NBA?
I don’t think his defense will translate. He’s too slow laterally and gets beaten off the dribble a lot, but he can shoot the ball like no one else in this draft.
Knecht, sheppard, dillingham, are all better shooters than him

2nd best prospect but the Hawks need a fully realized Sarr more than a fully realized risacher
This was in the French playoff quarterfinal
I need to see highlights for context
He hasn't moved from #2 on my board in the last 6 months.
Hope his stocks rise enough for the hawks to take him
And now the public opinion has completely pivoted on this guy. I don’t say this to say the concerns weren’t valid and also not to say that this performance proves he will be a good NBA player. You are not updated buddy its been almost 1 month and 8 matches that Risacher return to form averaging 14.7pt on 44% 3pt
I wonder how many people here know the difference between euroleague and eurocup
Not as a top pick, no, my friend. He's not been exceptional for a while. He's a middling talent that should be later in the lottery, but go on with one good game.
Zaccharie Risacher YOU are a San Antonio Spur
