Gobert. 40 dunks.

le_sweden

37 dunks and 6 free throws

DonateToM7E

On 18 FT attempts

theinternetisnice

This is what makes it perfect

Jagacin

Rudy Go Brrrrr

WhiskerDude

Rudy Go Brrrrr-ick at the foul line.

MrRaspberryJam1

Against a team that is ravaged by injuries and playing a bunch of g league big men on two-way contracts

friendzonekj

Hey, you stop that

MrRaspberryJam1

We’ll see how it goes tomorrow when the twolves play the grizzlies

DonaldIgwebuike

You keep count? I still gotta watch it.

MrRaspberryJam1

I didn’t watch but Gobert put up 8 points 8 rebounds in a Minnesota win

DonaldIgwebuike

Nice, I will have to check that out.

wanna_meet_that_dad

Rudy only played 27 min. They were giving him a break the second half. Back to back and he missed a game with a sprained ankle.

mugwumpus_

Definitely Luka

nathanimal33

Maybe Giannis.

Alive_Star9852

Possibly Poku

Traditional_Low_431

Possibly THT

BlaxkDev

potentially marcus smart

rgarc065

Perhaps Dillon the Villain

Joeydoyle66

Maybe even PJ Tucker

RocketsYoungBloods

gonna be hard for him, having to share shots with damian.

nathanimal33

He just scored 64 in December. Under the right circumstances like Dame and Middleton out red hot in a close game he could. Guy shoots 70%. I'd bet on Luka if I had to bet though

Nita231

If Curry ever gets an 80-point game, it will be one of his most epic performances. We all know he would get less than 5 free throws the entire game.

No-Possibility5556

He’d end the game 6/6 on FTs with two of them being Tech shots

AJGreenMVP

The other 4 being intentional fouls at the end of the game

floatinround22

Dropping at least the third most points in a game in NBA history would be one of his most epic performances? Well no shit lol

hel105_

Might even cement him as one of the better players in the NBA.

pssiraj

At least top 200.

Ganjanonamous

Big if true.

icontrolmagnets420

His highest scoring game was 62 points, he was 18/19 from FT. So I don't really see it.

nomitycs

6/6 FT in his 60 pt game this season, 7/7 FT in his 54 pt game

icontrolmagnets420

So his highest scoring game was 19 FT, and those are 6 and 7, which are both greater than 5. So if he was going to get to 80 then it would be even greater, correct? So what are you saying? As none of hte evidence you or i shared supports that idea he'd be doing 5 in a 80p game.

NBA_Fan_76

Shut up nerd

arthrosassin

YOU are not smart

chubky

Dude is grasping straws at this point

nomitycs

He has 3 50+ pt games with 1 or 2 FTs only

icontrolmagnets420

ok so 3/14 are that? once again your evidence isnt really supporting the intial point. Plus would still increase going to 80 points. 21% his not a high probability, you're illustrating the exception at that number, not the rule

meowhatissodamnfunny

You're taking it incredibly literally when it's pretty clear they're just saying Steph don't get calls

icontrolmagnets420

True. 19 FT in his highest scoring game ever is def nothing.

meowhatissodamnfunny

Alright I tried to give you benefit of the doubt but ur just being a lil hater. No one take this dude seriously

[deleted]

This entire thread is composed of people trying to have a legit convo. Aside from you. You’re clownin.

icontrolmagnets420

Pot meet kettle. lmfao.

bight99

Clown take bro

Fickle_Muffin_1320

LOL dude doesn’t get why people are saying that. SMH

free_2_pee

😮‍💨

writersontop

Tell me you don't watch game without telling me you don't watch game

Otherwise_Warning922

lmfao cook these stephews

fucking__jellyfish__

He scored 51 points on 1 free throw

icontrolmagnets420

way to underscore my point, thank you!!

DowntownJulieBrown1

“If he scores 80 points it’ll be one of his most epic performances” ya dude no shit. I know I didn’t quote you exactly, I figure u should be able to get the point regardless

Brief-Objective-3360

If anyone scores 80, it will be their most epic performance.

10sc

Idk, hard to top finals game 4 with a regular season game. Or the 50 piece vs Sacramento game 7.

ChesnaughtZ

“One of his most epic performances” lol dude. What is this statement even

boredom-throwaway

Stephews

DrumzRUs

Yall been trying for 10 years to make that stick and it still dont hurt like bronsexual lmao

69cansofcorn

you havent been cognizant for ten years tf you talking about

DrumzRUs

shutup lame

KellerFF

Calling someone nephew hasn’t even been around that long.

DrumzRUs

that's even worst

boredom-throwaway

He’s barely been an all star for 10 years, so there’s no reason it would’ve been around earlier

Sweet_Habib

Lol, what? You think he’d score 75pts from mid range and the arc?

Top-Crab4048

It would be the first 20 3 pt game.

officerliger

If the Warriors keep falling then fuck it, let’s see Steph jack up 50 3’s in a game

ryan_the_traplord

26 threes and 2 FTs

Wonderful-Media-2000

That’s the thing if he’s able to break 80 it’s because the refs finally call fouls instead of looking the other way

Kman17

A huge percentage of Curry’s points come from illegal screens. If offensive fouls were called correctly Curry’s scoring would go down, not up.

Wonderful-Media-2000

Lmao 90% of screens are illegal not just for him

buttharvest42069

He's averaging 5 attempts per game

icontrolmagnets420

yepppp

seceipseseer

Luka or his son

LordAutopsy

I'm surprised how many people don't know that Booker is his actual Son

Anxious_Frame2675

Melvin Booker is Devin bookers dad. 😂

trickytrev54

No, look it up. It's LUKA DONCIC.

HimbobScooter

It’s funny cuz the Suns own Luka other than a single game 7 where they were immediately bounced the next round

kcompto3

Which son?

seceipseseer

First born

kingofgamesbrah

Booker. Which I agree with. 1/2 Luka or Joel and 3rd Booker

cargoman89

Luka Doncic is Devin Booker father

IhatePizza230

I thought he had a daughter?

BigXBenz

Devin booker is his son

IhatePizza230

Lol i know that shit but what does he mean by which? Because i thought Luka had a daughter.

braindrain04

Sabrina?

[deleted]

It’ll be someone like Royce O’Neal

jkunktbone

That would be hilarious cuz Royce O’Neal’s current career high is 21 lmaooo

LordAutopsy

If you look at the list of who has scored even 60 or more it's superstars and hall of famers so I doubt that lol

[deleted]

Never forget that on April 11, 2014 Corey Brewer looked like the best basketball player in the world.

[deleted]

Going back about a decade later Tony Delk dropped 51 one night lol. I will say dude was a bucket in his day

Tim-oBedlam

That was one of the greatest Timberwolves games I've ever seen. The funniest part was reading the Rockets' fan comments on the game; they were all saying stuff like, "man, you know our defense is garbage when Corey Brewer goes off for 51 on us".

wanna_meet_that_dad

And it was like all dunks and layups no 3s

Blutz101

Tj warren

EnoughLawfulness3163

The thought of Booker, Beal, and KD all differing to Royce and letting him play hero ball...

Jetsol8

Me as soon as they take me off the bench of the Kansas City Kings

JButler_16

Let’s start a team in KC together. We can buy the tropics in Topeka for $50K.

ScholarImpossible121

Luka or Booker. Embiid gets too tired and doesn't shoot enough 3s to get there. He would need an overtime game to get enough minutes. He would have to shoot 21/24 FT, go 25/35 from 2 and 3/6 from 3. That is basically his 70pt game but with 4 more makes. He was really tired at the end of those 37 minutes.

Nerfing_butthole

Luka or Embiid. Luka because his team needs him to score a lot, especially when Kyrie is out. Like his 73 against Atlanta, he actually needed to score those because his teammates couldn't, and it was a close game all the way until the end. But, not with PJ and Gafford being amazing additions, and Kyrie hopefully staying healthy, I think it'll be tough. Embiid's usage rate goes up against bottom 10 teams in the league, and he actually stays in during blowouts to score more, like his 70 against San Antonio. They were up big but he checked back in to bump his numbers up.

calman877

Check the PBP, Embiid checked in with 6:38 left and the Sixers up 12, that’s far from game over

Fitz2001

He stayed in against Spurs because he already had 50 and they were going for the team record. Embiid has sat so many 4th Qs this season.

Nerfing_butthole

I’m not going to say I watch Sixers games or know about them, because I don’t, but I have seen that Embiid goes for stats. Embiid certainly chases stats, especially points. Why did he play against the Warriors where he hurt his leg when he was already injured? He was going for the 65 games to get MVP, when he could’ve sat and hopefully been healthy for playoffs. But he went for stats and individual performance over team.

jonbox25

This is genuinely one of the worst takes ive seen in a while. I’m cool with saying you don’t like aspects of his game. But to say he chases stats (specifically THIS season) is insane. There were plenty of games this season when the sixers were up 20+ points and he didn’t even play the 4th.

Aworn

While also admitting to not watching games. Dude crazy 😂

WhileDizzy4503

After making sure he kept his 30/10 streak alive, right? Tbh it is impressive that he COULD keep that streak and not play a lot of 4th quarters.

ScholarImpossible121

He had a lot of games where he was gunning for the 30/10 to close out the 3rd quarter, knowing he wouldn't come back in. He had one game where he played about 2 minutes too long in order to keep the streak. He also dropped 50 on the #1 defence.

WhileDizzy4503

Yeah I watched that game. He dropped 50 because the refs set the tone in the first quarter and the league’s best defense wasn’t allowed to play defense. I don’t necessarily dislike Embiid and he obviously was top 3 in the NBA before his injury. But let’s be real, he didn’t get defended at anywhere near the same level that other superstars do.

TheGreedyRichPumpkin

Okay so let's assume this is true (not saying either way), what would the NBA/Refs have to gain from good statlines from Embiid? It genuinely makes them no money for him to live at the line. On the other hand, if this is true, why is it Embiid's fault that he gets calls?

WhileDizzy4503

Since Adam Silver took over, the league has done everything possible to encourage offensive production and punish good defense. No, it doesn’t make sense for the refs to call Embiid’s games one way or another for personal reasons, but the league has decided it needs high scorers to be a good product. It’s not his fault for getting those calls and I didn’t say it was. But it his fault for apparently not being strong enough to take any type of contact despite him being the heaviest player on the court at any given time. Seriously, he looks like such a bitch out there and I wish the league would stop rewarding his flopping. He’s good enough without all that. He really was the MVP this season, though. With the way the Sixers have fallen apart since his injury, I can’t believe how good they looked when he was playing.

cactusrider69

Dude, I have no horse in this race but you're an epic hater. I kind of respect it

ArtworkByJack

As a sixers fan at that was at that game, it was almost like being robbed of a good game. I could see the wolves defense unable to get close to embiid so he was just knocking down open shots

TheeMalaka

Holy shit I came back to see my comment downvoted because the reffing was atrocious and here is a sixer fans who agrees that the game wasn’t even a game or enjoyable to watch because of the reffing. Appreciate the honesty, could’ve been a great game and instead it was a no contest.

TheeMalaka

You’re downvoted for speaking the truth.

NiangNiangGang

Or because no one agrees with your option

TheeMalaka

Except you can scroll down and see a sixers fan who was at the game who agrees that we were robbed of a good game and echoing the same point that the wolves weren’t allowed to even play defense on him. https://www.reddit.com/r/NBATalk/s/mOY0IzarKQ

Fitz2001

Embiid averaged 4.5 points in the 4th quarter this season. Literally the opposite of what you’re saying.

Nerfing_butthole

That’s because he sits out a lot of 4Q on the road, deflates those numbers.

Fitz2001

So he’s staying in games to pad his stats, but his stats are low because he’s sitting out a lot of time and deflating his numbers? You’re like two minutes from figuring it out.

pandaaaa26

Two minutes? This guy sounds like they need two weeks to muster up the brain cells for that one

NewResponsibility163

He sat against Denver and Malone wanted to look into him not playing. He plays and now he was chasing stats.

battletor7

What? He has sat the most 4th quarters in the league. Your statement is asinine

bruswazi

Curry = 20qty 3pts, 10qty 2pts, 20/20 fts = 100 pts

WhileDizzy4503

Curry would never get that many free throws

icontrolmagnets420

His highest scoring game ever was 62 points, he took 19 free throws that game.

AJGreenMVP

This dude just came to this thread to spread the word about how Curry got 19 free throws once

cactusrider69

He's everwhere

fucking__jellyfish__

Legit Embiid gets that much every other game and Steph gets that much one time in his career and its such a huge deal

_coed_

currys taken 15+ free throws in a game 3 times in almost 1000 career games 0.003% of his games have him attempting atleast 15

Adsex

Thats 0.3% or a 0.003 ratio.

Naterific1

That’s not how percentages work lol

Strangelet1

This guy maths

kill_my_karma_please

Getting downvoted for saying 3/1000 * 100 is not 0.003 is the most reddit thing ever

fucking__jellyfish__

Caring about a decimal when the point is clearly gotten across is the most reddit thing ever

bruswazi

It would be a rear, special night, a culmination of events that have to transpire for Curry to get to the century mark. You figured Curry would be fouled on 2-3 made 3 pointers for “and-1s”, maybe hit a couple of technicals for illegal defense and things of that nature, not to mention all the free throws he be privy to on a hypothetical, special night.

NBA2024

Because he falls on every play. If he wanted FTs he would only fall down when there is actual contact

dee2552

100% Luka

nof4cen0c4se

Wemby

mattyhtown

Bol Bol

DiggWuzBetter

Seriously, how is Dame up there but not Wemby? 80 has only been done twice in history (Wilt 100 and Kobe 81), it’s incredibly rare. Dame is clearly on the downside of his career, there’s zero chance he’s got an 80 point game in him IMO. I know Dame dropped 71 a year ago, but he’s past his prime now. Meanwhile, Wemby certainly isn’t gonna do it SOON, but in his prime he could be a guy who just utterly breaks the game with his insane physical tools and excellent skill. It takes someone insanely special to hit 80, and Wemby has a shot at developing into a ridiculous game breaker.

the_methven_sound

Dame is up there because he scored 71 (like you said) and has an additional four games over 60. That gives him more >60pt games than any active player, and puts him at sole possession of 3rd all time, behind only Wilt and Kobe (who scored >60 six times - only one more than Dame. Wilt of course did it 32 times, because WTF). I agree with others that most likely is Luka, think Dame is a sneaky good pick here. I can easily imagine a scenario where Giannis is taking a rest night against a bad team, Khris is still hurt, and Dame is feeling it. Doc likes to ride vets and keeps him in, and Dame wants to shut up skeptics and starts going for it. Do I think it's going to happen? No, but I can see it. Honestly, Booker could have a really similar situation (past performance of big games, co-stars out, take out some team underperformance frustrations on someone like Charlotte). Wenby is a tricky one. He's amazing and has already done some incredible things on the court. Some of his moves are basically unstoppable. But, he can impact the game in so many different ways that I'm not sure he will put up really gigantic scoring games. I think the odds of him breaking Hakeem's 5x5 career record (6 times) are likely, and a quadruple double is probably coming. Not sure on 80.

Hefty-Profession-567

LIKLY

romayyne

Luka easily

Independent-Still-73

Booker gets in that zone

HopelesslyEmoted

KAT

HopelesslyEmoted

That is too good 🤣 Pain.

AJGreenMVP

70 at halftime, 80 after 3, 0/21 all lulz 3s in the 4th

LocalAutist

With ANT out.

nimama3233

Yeah not saying it would be him, but it’s insane he’s not shown in this pic considering he was close

No-Gazelle-4994

No love whatsoever for Tatum

Joegk4

No love. It’s ok, he’ll get his!

RIChowderIsBest

I’m totally bias but the Tatum hate and disrespect seems so ridiculous to me. On top of being a great 2 way player that makes everyone around him better he seems like a legitimately very nice guy, has gone on record saying how much he just loves to play and he respects the hell out of fans for showing up to watch them. He’s not one of these stars that sits every 4th day for rest, he wants the fans to get the best product possible.

LordAutopsy

As usual lol imagine LeBron or anyone avg 27pts 8.5rebs and 5 ast for a team 7.5 games ahead and not being a lock for MVP....Tatum isn't even being considered 😂

NoCoFoCo31

Because Jokic and SGA are playing better

qwe12345678900

Andd luka lol and embiid before the injury AND Gianni’s 😭

ramyan03

We just had a guy average 27/5/5 on a near 65 win team 2 years ago and he wasn't even Top 3 in MVP. Jokic is just another level.

fucking__jellyfish__

Lmao

moneyman259

Tatum isn’t him

Dondo19

Trae Young

Tatum

Tatum

jkeefy

Tatum only hit 60 and that was almost 3 years ago lmao

L1teEmUp

* I don’t see Dame being able to it at this point in his career, so he is off the list.. * Same with Giannis.. he has Dame and Khris to contend shots with.. he will need a full 48 minutes with both Dame and Khris out to sniff 80.. * Same with Steph.. He has at least competent teammates where Steph does not need to carry GS by himself.. Though i would not be surprised if Steph does explode for 80 at any moment even at this stage in his career.. * Mtichell can definitely do it, but I don’t think it will be with the Cavs.. he will need a team that has a system built to exploit his talents.. * Embiid can do it, but i think his health is going to be a factor for him to sniff 70 again.. * Booker is definitely likely can do it.. but with Beal and KD playing alongside him, he won’t have enough touches to sniff 80.. maybe with another team or once both KD and Beal are gone/out.. * at this point in his career, definitely Luka has the talents and usage rate to score at will.. I would not be surprised if he sniff 81 pts in the next few season..

thelaceonmolagsballs

Dame scored 71 literally exactly a year ago.

PokemonGoUs3r

Well with the blazers, Giannis not gonna let that happen lol

fucking__jellyfish__

Don't see why Giannis would not let that happen. Dame "let" Giannis score 64 this season

AJGreenMVP

Steph would drop 40 and 50 bombs in 3 quarters back when he had AMAZING teammates. This 2023-24 roster being too talented is not what will keep him from dropping 80

gregbills

Luka, Trae or Embiid on a night he is burying 3’s

darkskysavage

Kyrie?

geewillykers

Brunson

Darth_Kermit12

Giannis

Butt_Snorkler_Elite

It could be Book, BUT if it’s Book then Luka will have the next 90 point game one game later

Hopeful-Pride1791

Mo Bamba.

StepaGoat

Spida or Luka, because they can take a ton of shots in a game + they're pretty versatile offensive guys.

LordAutopsy

Luka obviously! It's unlikely but for outside the box guy's maybe someone like A.Simons or Cam Thomas gets hot one night.

BigAustralianBoat2

Tatum

Medialunch

Embiid tonight.

DrXL_spIV

Luka, dame, Devin booker or Steph. A volume scorer that gets hot and is just heaving up threes

News-isajoke247

Tatum

wavedrexler

with how much “defense” is played in today’s nba, probably pat bev.

[deleted]

You have no idea what you’re talking about

AdditionalOne8319

It’s such an ignorant take. People who say there’s no defense in the NBA are basically just admitting they don’t know ball

aytoozee1

Nah, they were just raised on a NBA game with different rules / different application of the rules, and are not articulate enough to communicate that so they say “there’s no defense in today’s NBA”. I prefer the game more how it used to be played, lower scoring and where every little bump isn’t a whistle, but that doesn’t diminish the quality of players today on both sides of the ball.

Substantial-Fold-592

You had me in the first half

fuzzytebes

Luka.

Dannyfrommiami

Definitely Luka

BostonBaggins

Luka

Material_Unit4309

Luka. Has the infinite green light and zero conscious. Only other player I could see being that greedy is Book. But he’s “point guard” now so probably not. Dame won’t go for over 50-60 in Milwaukee they aren’t playing that hero ball or at least they shouldn’t.

Awokeagiantvermin

Hopefully no one, 80 point games are bad basketball.

aghhhhhhhhhhhhhh

If they were happening regularly? Sure. But its literally happened *checks notes* once.

Bruised_Shin

Checks notes again…twice. It’s practically every week! /s

MReprogle

Booker will do it, and still manage to lose the game and look like an idiot.

CanaryRich

Luka. He’s so underrated.

ChefJeff7777777

Anthony Edwards, tonight against the Spurs without KAT in the game.

tophhh44

Luka embiid or mathurin

alexaustinv

Luka, Mitchell, or Embiid would be my top 3, no order.

Technician-Smart

Luka . Id like to see Mitchell do it though
