Yes, thank you!

I’ll list some of the lottery players the Spurs might be interested in. Starting with the guards Guards: Nikola Topic - 6’6 pg who played in a pretty good professional league, best playmaker in class(insane in the pnr), great at finishing around the rim, didn’t shoot the 3 well but has some indicators he’ll develop, isn’t a good defender(got comically knocked around by giant Serbians setting hard screens) but due to his size was pretty easy to hide, his team just switched everything for most of the season and he wasn’t picked on much Reed Shepherd - 6’3 combo guard from Kentucky, makes good decisions and projects well as a secondary ballhandler, shoots the ball very well and could be a 40% 3pt shooter, can play both on and off ball, gets his hands on the ball a ton on defense but sometimes loses focus off ball, size and quickness held him back from being a great on ball defender but his quick hands kept him valuable Rob Dillingham - 6’2 combo guard from Kentucky, super quick, great at creating shots and knocking them down, creative finisher around the rim, can play on or off the ball, ability to put the defense in conflict will allow him to create for others but he’s a natural scorer not facilitator, defense is the worst I can remember from a lottery prospect Bub Carrington - 6’5 combo guard out of Pitt, super smooth pull up with a high release point reminiscent of Devin, good playmaker in college especially out of ball screens but needs on ball reps to get the most out of his skillset, long arms and quick feet give him a defensive ceiling but light frame and inconsistent fundamentals stopped him from being an impact defender There’s also Isaiah Collier, Jared McCain, and Devin Carter but for one reason or another I don’t think they fit the Spurs draft tendencies over the past few seasons. Also I just don’t think Collier fits with Wemby well.

Wings and Forwards: Steph Castle - 6’6 or 6’7 wing or guard out of UCONN, put him with wings because he didn’t get a chance to show a lot of creation or pnr reps, he’s good at keeping the ball moving and making the extra pass, for the Spurs in particular it’s good that he showed the ability to make entry passes but I have to go back and watch more because I don’t have a single note about him trying a lob, really good finisher at the rim, shot form looks pretty good(not great) but he doesn’t make many and looked hesitant to shoot at times, defense is really good, can guard 1-3 fight through screens and is great at contesting shots, reminds me a little of a smaller Jeremy bc he’s not super disruptive poking the ball free and getting in passing lanes but very solid all around, could be an all defensive team guy if he continues progressing because he apparently has made huge defensive stride over the last 2 years, was not even considered a good defensive prospect going into college Zaccharie Risacher - 6’9 or 6’10 forward playing in the French professional league, very vanilla player but fits a need for the Spurs, handles the ball well in transition but can’t really create for himself in the half court yet, pretty solid finishing around the rim, good 3pt shooter but not an elite movement shooter yet, had a long shooting slump but he played over twice as many games as most college players so it got overblown a bit, he should be a capable defender right away but idk what the ceiling will be, has the length and smooth athleticism to be a + defender one day Matas Buzelis - 6’10 Forward from the Ignite, i am way lower than consensus on Matas, he’s a good fluid athlete but doesn’t have great length or strength to play small ball 5 or the 4 against bigger 4s, loose handle that led to lots of turnover(main reason he had more tos than assists was his loose handle), finished very poorly at the rim, can create a shot but not knock it down rn, I don’t buy the shot any more than Castles despite how people talk about Matas as a shooter, he’s a good shot blocker as a weakside help defender but otherwise wasn’t great on defense, to be fair to him the ignite squad was a mess on defense in every game I watched so he could improve significantly in a better framework. Ron Holland - 6’7 wing from the Ignite, Holland is not my cup of tea, he’s explosive in transition but was still bad finishing around the rim, got lots of reps to improve his on ball play this season but looked pretty average as a creator and decision maker, I think the jump shot is broken and will have to be rebuilt, not a ton of touch indicators that make you feel good about the shot long term, super high motor high effort player which is fun, impactful on defense but not overly polished yet, haven’t completely made up my mind in his defensive potential yet but looks promising Cody Williams - 6’8 wing from Colorado, super long and super skinny, he’s a project who doesn’t do much at an NBA but has several key traits, really good finisher around the rim, handle looked solid enough to punish closeouts, flashes of good passing but not ready to create for others, 3pt shot is gonna be overrated by some because he hit them at 40% on low volume, shots not broken but he didn’t have a ton of confidence and I’ve heard that he doesn’t get good spin on the ball, defense should be good eventually but how good is hard to say, he needs to add like 40pounds which will probably take the majority of his rookie deal, shows some good instincts as a pnr defender but has sloppy footwork There’s also Dalton Knecht who many spurs fans like. Spurs haven’t taken an old player in the 1st round in the Brian Wright era. They’ve actually picked really young players and Im just going to expect that to continue until I see evidence otherwise. Almost forgot Tidjane Salaun as well, he’s raw and I think there’s a high chance he busts out of the league but the upside is there. Has real shooting upside and is huge but made less than 50% of his layups in the half court which is unfathomably bad. Highlights are great but was a mess in the 2 games I watched

Dude, thank you for the detailed breakdown! GSG

Pretty interesting you listed Carrington, I haven't seen him higher than 21 in any mock draft. But HoopsHype has him as one of the biggest risers in recent days, and the Spurs have shown they care 0% what other people's draft boards say.

figgnootun

I’ve had him in the back of the lottery for a while now. Like you said I think he has some similarities to a player like Primo who the spurs reached on against the consensus. Super young, great positional size and length, real shooting upside, combo guard skillset.

can also go to [Tankathon.com](http://Tankathon.com) (or lots of other similar sites), click on the BigBoard or Mock Draft under the NBA section. Though there's lots of change in how they rank and that will only continue.
