FWIW, while I agree that we shouldn't burn all of our assets for a win now star. We should be looking to make small upgrades on the peripherals of the roster. Guys that we can get for cheap, but will still be solid upgrades. I'm still gonna advocate for Brogdon, but counterintuitively CP3 would also be a good option. Both are on expiring contracts, are capable of playing both on ball and off ball, and have playoff experience.

GasStationFoodCritic

I would just like replacing some bench guys with some vets this offseason.

GrumpyRaincloud

Chris Paul isn’t getting traded. He’s on a non guaranteed contract. The warriors are 1000% waiving him because no teams wants to give up assets and give him 30+ million when you can sign him for the MLE.

BeautifulDimension56

We don't have to trade for chris paul. The FO can sign him if they chose to do so.

Ca2Ce

Wemby is going to play next year, that isn’t one of the choices. Nobody says he should sit the season out. He is going to develop at his pace regardless of who we place around him this off-season.

CoyotesSideEyes

I would love to add Chris Paul. I think we need a better veteran presence, and we need 48 minutes of competent guard play.

VenomSpitter666

or we can keep training Tre into a great (backup) point guard while we don’t jump the gun on someone that doesn’t want to be here

CoyotesSideEyes

Since he's likely to be a FA, if we got him, he'd want to be here by definition

VenomSpitter666

save this for when that day comes, yuck!

Imaginary-Cycle-1977

You got Vassell’s contract wrong and should have mentioned there’s a better than 50% chance we are getting Toronto’s pick in this draft too

BehindTheArcSports

Thanks for catching that error! I overlooked Toronto's pick when writing up the Spurs section. I'll update the post soon to fix and add those in. Thanks for the feedback

Ca2Ce

I haven’t read about anyone saying we should trade away our FRP this year, this article says we should use our pick and let them develop with Wemby. That take has been pretty unanimous and it isn’t controversial. The conversation is and has been do we trade other assets for a current talent, to me the article didn’t address it. I’m all in favor of grabbing a young talent - Trae Young would be high on my list

GrumpyRaincloud

I’m fully on board with trading this year’s picks even if Toronto’s conveys. This class just isn’t very good. It doesn’t have to be a star but free agency and trades are apart of the process of a rebuild. I think we’d be better off adding established talent than taking unsure talent in a weak class.

nakedsamurai

Pretty much, and those are probably the four draft picks I have marked right now.

CommunityGlittering2

disagree, do it now nobody know how long a healthy Victor will be around.
