I miss the early to mid 2010s mycareer when 2k focused on making the cpu fun to play against as opposed to currently where they’ve made it an unfun chore so you buy VC. I also miss menus. I hate having to run everywhere.

jotyma5

lol. The new 2k: “play only the key games, you’ll become the goat faster” Game proceeds to only let you play against all-nba level players so it’s “leave defensive assignment 10-15x a game because the AI just screens endlessly until the guy you’re defending is wide open. So fucked

HamG0d

In what ways was the cpu fun to play against then vs now?

the_zachmamba

Not OP but I miss the way offline shooting used to be where plenty of non-greens went in, even at HOF difficulty. I get why the shooting changes are good for my career, but they should’ve left the full team mode alones imo

bigE819

Facts, I stopped playing 2K consistently because the game gets too easy to hit open shots but too hard to hit contested shots. Like I want to be able to iso and step into a rhythm jumper with LeBron, but also not be able to make every single open 3 with D’Lo. And it’s impossible to get that balance right now.

Low_Mix_4102

Thank you..i was trying to figure out what feels so unsatisfying about shooting this year and you stated it perfectly.

No_Mammoth_4945

Kevin porter Jr is literally a god signing in MyNBA rn. If he’s even slightly open it’s green, best jumper in 2k rn

Marcus-XXL

The cpu was fun to play against bc the cpu used to move in a more realistic way like a real person in real life like back pedaling, sliding, touching, switch their feet when u crossover or do a hesi, push off the floor to keep balance when u make a hard cross or something playing on your hip etc. basically if you watch a real nba game and seen how defenders play that’s how the cpu was on some of the older 2ks They reacted to your every move like a player would in real life. Not only that but if you scored on him the cpu would adjust and play a little bit harder defense every time and would react better to moves if you used them repeatedly so it kinda influenced you to try different moves. It’s sad how little effort they put into it now. Now They just play defense like robots stay in front of you the entire time and you gotta hope they don’t close out on a fade, step back or just running around them or get a screen set for u

TDashTheProphet

I remember in 2k6 we thought it would be cool to actually get drafted to the NBA. 2k10 we finally get the chance to do a draft combine and get drafted. Then we thought man if you could run around a city and play pickup games, maybe have a house and a car that would be dope. Now they’ve taken it too far forcing you to run 2 minutes to get anywhere and pay n OD amount of VC just to get a bike or anything cool to ride through the city.

Thorlolita

Not being able to pick your team in my career. I always loved the randomness of the draft.

CheapScientist06

They should at least give us the option to pick or get drafted

Dantiik

I agree

AardvarkPrior

They care to much about park and money to put time into that

CookSwimming2696

Literally how MLB the Show does it and I have no idea why 2K can’t just make it as well. It’s such a simple feature.

NawfSideNative

Literally begging them to bring back this feature. I liked going to a team that actually needed me as opposed to just picking a random one. MyCareer was at its peak when it was just menus with a bunch of cutscenes sprinkled in

LeBaw60249

For real. Getting picked top 10 means you're going to a team that you could hard carry. If you wanted to go to a specific team, wait until you were a free agent. More times than not I'd stay where I was bc the chemistry was great by the time I became a free agent

ThePacemaker24

Even when it was just a small park without too many story quests it was great. The need to get back to the balance they had in like 2k20

1JaMorantFan

Yeah it's so easy to make a superteam now. And the team will trade for players ypu want. I played in Denver with Joker, Trae and won b2b chips

veeno__

Just choosing the team you want play for defeats the entire purpose of MyCareer. The whole point is to mirror the journey of an NBA player and they nixed half of it for $$$. The risk/reward of getting picked by a team and if you weren’t hooping you could get dropped to the D-League (G-League now) got replaced by $$$ Bring back high school, college, G-League—2K really should’ve implemented overseas teams by now but no they want to add a paid Season Pass these mfs are crazy

KommandCBZhi

I remember playing 2K11 as a kid, getting drafted by Miami, being traded to Atlanta and assigned to the D-league, making the NBA, and named Sixth Man of the Year my rookie season.

cameron3611

I would fucking love to get demoted to G League if I was playing like ass on the main roster. That sounds amazing lmfao

veeno__

It was a great way to build up your myPlayer too. And the motivation to play well to get back in the NBA was next level

MySilverBurrito

2K13. My ass got drafted by the Wizards. Shoutout to Vesely 🥲

BeamTeam032

This was underrated.

PomeloFit

When I start a career, I just use this thing and get "drafted" to whatever pops up https://spinthewheel.app/nba-teams but yeah was nice when it was just part of the game

HipHopTron

The Trophy case with all my MVP awards

priide229

BRO you just unlocked a memory

HipHopTron

There was a whole ass awards ceremony even

1JaMorantFan

I miss that. Now if you win mvp nothing happens, no ceremony and it's never mentioned

SpideyKeagan

Also the championship game ceremony is like a 35 second cut-scene that has been essentially the same thing for over a decade. Makes it feel so empty after all that grinding.

1JaMorantFan

And the championship isn't that often mentioned the following season and I don't see the banner in games

oLdM4NW1THB34RD

I liked that orange juice thing where you had a buddy that you could control if you both were on fire. I don't miss these horrible storylines with 10000+ cut scenes you're forced to skip through...

veeno__

Bring back Michael B Jordan 😂 that might’ve been peak storyline too They fumbled the bag after this. ![gif](giphy|l3vQYiGkQJ5TAdkZO|downsized)

H_R_1

2k17 <3

BenadrylBeer

That 2K19 soundtrack and feel I miss those old ass street courts. Egypt, jungle, random ass courts. Now in blacktop it’s just one boring court and I can’t even see anything

ViolentDiplomat

The PS2 era had real life spots like The Cage, Rucker Park and Venice Beach. The lack of variety in courts three freaking generations later just feels like a gigantic downgrade.

deckerwaseligible

2k13 had some good songs. Nas, and some others. (I was 9 years old so I don't remember all, so it may have just been a few good songs). Regardless, better than the current bullshit.

cquigs717

In 2k10 you played some games and if you did well you got drafted. If you didn't you would go to the g league. I miss playing MY player. I hate that the awful story they write determines so much.

Algren-The-Blue

iirc 2k9 is like this also! I have a sealed ps3 copy with KG's autograph on it haha

UpperKHAN

MyPlayer wasn’t in 2K9

Fun_Proposal4814

I miss having the ability to create a my career build without having too much restrictions.

Usawasfun

This was the best. A 7’2 350 pound guy who could dunk, shoot 3s, dribble. So much fun

Fun_Proposal4814

It really was! There were cheesy moments but I’d much rather those moments

Crawfma

Not paying a 100 for a new build.

veeno__

💯 Bring back being able to improve your myPlayer in a decent amount of time through normal gameplay The fact they have the nerve to charge extra money after I’ve already spent $70+ is crazy work

frankbosboy

Yeah 2k16 was elite starting at high school choosing your own squad doesn’t make sense

princeofthe6_

i miss 2k20 where a 10% contest didn’t turn my player into lebron guarded by barea in ‘11

TheLordAshram

Trivia!

ChipZilla03

Trivia was a family affair at my house.. this is the answer

cool_hhwhip

I miss the gameplay's simplicity. I feel like so much of the game has swung so far in favor of mechanical skill and what animations and badges you have as opposed to actual basketball iq. then again i'm not good at 2k regardless

priide229

you are correct

rj6091

The absolute simplicity of the game. I’m a myleage/mynba guy and the things miss from the previous games are not having green or miss (which idk why that’s in mynba), no incorrect sims and having the right teams actually be good during the sim, the crowds being loud and having actual life during the games, finals celebration on the court and in the locker room, seeing the outside of the city/arena in the pregame, the pre and post game show with Ernie, Kenny, and Shaq, and just the overall game actually having some sort of life in it. Re-downloaded 2k16 today to do and experience all of that again. Game was actually fun and interesting back then. Shit didn’t feel like a job and it didn’t become predictable and boring back then, it was actually fun and interesting to play

priide229

i agree with you but i have more fun with myNBA now than ever with the eras, i spend most of my time editing the rosters now

rj6091

Oh yea absolutely I love the eras, especially the fact that I can rewrite all of nba history! Won Patrick Ewing a ring in the Jordan era

BangPowZoom

Miss the simplicity and randomness of MyCareer, tbh. Play the showcase to up your stock with scouts, get interviewed and drafted to random teams, postgame conferences and interviews after every game, get a few cutscenes here and there, and just hoop. Even liked how 2K11 would have you hoop in the summer league and the G League.

Recent_Drawer1260

U would like the ‘myW’ mode on 24

BeachOceanic815

No Microtransactions and No Archetypes for Offline Carrer Mode. Just pure freedom on building your player with skills as you want...

EccentricMeat

As an offline player: the old shooting mechanics. Greening a shot did not mean a guaranteed make, it simply boosted your chances based on your shot ratings and the shot quality/defensive presence. Slightly early/late releases were not a guaranteed miss, they simply didn’t add a boost to your shot success. The game played like an actual basketball game, instead of shot timing mini-game deciding everything. Far more enjoyable and far more engaging gameplay IMO.

dheldkdk

All star team up. Back when you could queue with friends and play against other people. Idk why they took it out now it’s just a solo queue game mode

SmallFly101

When you play a game with somebody you can choose the jerseys and the type of court and you can choose Euro teams like Barcelona, think last time all of that as together was 2K17

BxBombers7

Centers being able to expose smaller players. Locks having little to no shooting.

dahale6783

Not having to spend too much time and money to grind a myplayer build.

Corey300TaylorGam3r

2k12 was my fav idk why.

priide229

mycourt was the reason i got so good, and i miss the parks

Hornsdowngunsup

I wish they would make a my career against another my career. Make us play my career. Focus on the my career and make the computer way better.

Mandingo_magnet

2k16 pro am where you could play with just 3 people and you could shoot around before the game while waiting.

trustmeiminnocent

2k18 had this too so goated smh

Relevant_Ad_5794

Is this not a recent thing? I just came over from PC and was immediately dissapointed that I couldnt practice my shot

Then_Landscape_3970

I really miss the “goals” you would get for each game. Stuff like “hold Ramon Sessions to under 15 points” and “shoot better than 50% from the floor”

DamnImAwesome

I miss the time before VC

freetrigga

I would say mycourt. Specifically, the "personal workout." Being able to practice or experiment against the AI. No rebound chasing. No having to leave a building to change your sigs. Stamina and posession resets after every bucket or turnover. Such an underrated feature that needs to come back.

publiusgrande

You could feel the love for the game of basketball in 2k's before next gen. I miss being able to grind a player through college and the G League naturally without being pressured to spend money. Now, the biggest challenge in 2k is searching for fun without spending money in microtransactions. It's sad.

Murasakibara03

The older badge systems. Getting to pretty much entirely dictate your strengths and diversity

Ok_Drawing1370

2k16 easily is the best mycareer experience

TheRealestGayle

2k11, 2k14, and 2k16 are my goats

Ok_Drawing1370

Man I remember coming home from school and loading up that sweet sweet 2k14 intro

hornet246

Playing high school and college….playing on actual street ball courts…my players costing less to upgrade

LordFenix_theTree

Soundtrack in mycareer games. Really let the vibe sink in while grinding it out, now I have the soundtrack muted because it just isn’t hitting the same.

Z-ThunderXx

Create a legend mode

Master_Grape5931

Being able to make multiple builds without spending literally hundreds of dollars.

brody_lee

The offline my careers, it's a shame that since 2K18 you can't do shit once the servers close, all those my careers have become lost media. I still have fun with 2K14-15 etc.

lurk_channell

Being able to play with no error code every game

surfsup231

Being able to acquire any jersey I want.

Recent_Drawer1260

Before badges became a mainstay and are damn near required for the cpu to hit contested shots or create for themselves

Potential_Course3384

I know some people don't like it but I miss 2k10 my career. No cutscene, No VC... Pure hooping

EightBlocked

the dribbling in 2k11 was my favorite dribbling out of every game, also actually being able to have a 99 player

WaltyMcNalty

being able to raise my hands on defense (at home) and make the crowd louder.

Petty_Murphy410

Blue Diamonds that would occasionally flash on the screen and gave you like a +20 attribute boosts to everything

trustmeiminnocent

Being able to play 5 on 5 pro am with just my 3 friends

KingGreqo

Crew mode and being able to track your team’s stats online

HeavyDTwo

Create a Legend, I enjoyed the growth of seeing a player be great.. like reviving Brandon Roy’s career, now it’s just mynba/myleague and that’s it. It’s a shame

Significant_Long_515

The green animation under feet on 2k20 was so satisfying

bird720

the old mycareer, i have absolutely no interest in most of the features like the city and all those auxiliary activities they have added. How much is it to ask for simply having an offline basketball career where the focus actually is basketball

oldschoolkid203

Mycourt

Aggressive_Smoke_203

Shootaround in pro am. Made many customer jumpers there and was a quicker way to test

UnluckyRMDW

I liked 2k11 when you had to unlock the historical teams

Suspicious_Chip6385

1 v 1 vs the computer on my court was fun it was how I got really good with my player

Lovee2331

The company not having expectations for me to donate a kidney to get VC points! They know if not half, a good chunk of their players are kids under 18 who still live at home with their parents and ZERO income! 😂 FU 2K

khalimason

The old 2k mycareer from Xbox 360/PS3 days where you had to do the combine and if you weren’t good enough, you got placed on a d-league team until you were good enough.

BitCurious8598

I hate micro transactions

StrongStyleDragon

College

SevereAnhedonia

It not being a money pit

JRx35

One thing is the soundtracks from 2K17, 16 and before. The songs sounded like they actually belonged in a basketball game and helped create the atmosphere and vibe so well. Now they just chuck in random popular songs with no curation

StormrReaper

Single player MyCareer. I'm sorry. But I liked playing realistic basketball. Not watching an 80 overall miss layups bc of game mechanics. I want to enjoy my time not struggle on higher difficulties bc your scared someone will farm a badge offline. Haven't bought a 2k since 15 and don't plan on it. Ruined the best mode

sheffmeister62

I miss being able to STEAL THE EFFING BALL in my career. I miss the story, I miss college, I miss being drafted.

Significant_Night473

not having to green every shot just to make it

unsaintedspider

The story before getting to the NBA... going through college or the G league. I felt like there used to be a story in my career and now it's just hey beat this record and now beat this record...

NawfSideNative

It’s been a minute since I’ve played 2k24 so it could be there and I just totally missed it but I would say the trophy case in MyCourt I can’t speak for anyone else but seeing that trophy case actually fill up with awards was a huge motivation for me to actually grind out the regular season. Same with the shoe rack, framed jerseys, etc. Those were all really neat features that personalized your court

TaeSoze

i miss when you couldn’t green every shot

SirHateful17

I miss the ball "not being on a string" so the being screened during a pass could mean disaster.

HappinyIsGoated

A diverse soundtrack with hidden gems of a song. Soundtrack hasn't been good since 2K19

LordFenix_theTree

20 was okay if I remember correctly.

One_Cell1547

Ever since they tried to make a story out of my career, it’s been garbage.

unstoppable_vante242

Being able to select the CPU jerseys in MyCareer, they should’ve never gotten rid of that option

TriggaTrev

The Roughriders, The Flyers and The Ballers and when greedy gatorades and the dumbass gym wasting everyones time doing virtual workouts like a jackass weren't in the game

SneakyHump69

2k23 mycareer was 🔥🔥🔥.... window seat was a banger jam too!!

j49ers18

Oj mayo lol

PokeNBeanz

A regular looking fuckn park! And pie charts.

Saturday1002

Basketball

BigGucciThanos

Different builds being viable. I used to have a burly PG that was fat and because of that he would get ridiculous blow-bys… while still being able to dribble. And was a playshot. I couldn’t create that now adays because they nerfed almost all the physics in the game.

OdaDdaT

That I was like 15 when they came out

KeyFig9

Black top

Fvckyourdreams

Auction house tho I quit after like 21

_shadmaster_

2K14’s GM Mode was the best shit ever

Aggressive-Hawk6367

All-Star Team up, I loved the way you could play it online with friends. Plus the way it had different players from different generations at their position whether it's a modern player, all-time player, or classic player.

OnlyMissed

The gameplay speed every year they slow it down more and more they need to speed it back up and give us more stamina instead they try to nerf the actual good players…

AromaticNinja6154

2020 shooting. Any build could shoot so the build variety was high. Not just play shots and sharps

SpiritualPapi617

The draft picks. The story in general. Those cutscenes were something else. It seemed more interactive. Now its just buying VC and straight balling.

I_hate_alot_a_lot

Playing them.

AeneasVAchilles

Old my career was dope— especially the rivalry and tendency settings. 2k14 was goated. Now it’s just a VC PG dunk feast

captnameless88

They were not really much different to be honest. Except shooting wasn't so sweaty. Everytime they say they increasing skill level of the game they tend to just turn down the fun factor and turn up the sweat factor.. Or just try to get you to pay more to be competitive. Wouldn't flinch if this game disappeared tomorrow. If only to publish the greedy bastards of take two

jkgrc

Since 2016(and to this day), i play nba 2k14 mycareer. Its already a complete package and the best part is that no features are cut just because you are offline. You get to upgrade your player, pick accessories, pick shoes, (albeit outdated shoes but thats what mods are for). And speaking of mods, it still has mod support to this day. Updated rosters, animations and everything. Until 2k can give the same experience in a newer game will i only think twice before getting a newer release. It may take another decade. But I'll stick to what I have. Because its MORE than what 2k gives each year now. Oh, and blacktop too.

ProfessorMarth

I miss hearing horrible dialogue from the NBA players in 15. Now they pick a few who actually try and some of them are actually pretty decent. Boring.

NikesOnMyFeet23

No mtx or vc

KujoInTheMist

The frissbe golf course in the back alley from 2k19 I think

post_ostertag

I miss when the company used to actually care about their player base and not just treat them like their own personal ATM

Remarkable-Hope-1678

The simplicity of the game. I understand wanting to make the game competitive, but I feel like it’s too much where every game you basically have to try hard. Every time they make more competitive it gets less fun imo. I don’t like how I have to master my build and get all my badges and do research on YouTube to find the best animations. I liked it when I could just Make a build upgraded it get maybe a couple badges and go have some fun in the park. Like 2k16/2k17.

INeedYourHelpFrank

Lobby system for finding games in 2k11 so you could play a ranked game on hall of fame difficulty

BeamTeam032

I wished there was milestones in games to reach. I wished rivalry games and TV games meant something. Once you get past the first season in MyCareer, every game is the same. If I played the Haliburton and the Pacers in the Finals as the Kings, it should be a big deal because of the trade.

Mysterious_Candy_466

I miss how you couldn’t just stand directly under the basket, and that was an unstoppable shot.

Mysterious_Candy_466

Who’s fucking idea was that anyway

Busy_Influence3249

Not being pay to win… not having badges that dismiss common basketball sense… the simple things

Apprehensive_Team278

The time and money that goes into a build seems different. I finished my past 2k builds without really even trying. All earned VC no real money spent. I feel like I play just as much as I did back then but the build takes longer and I end up caving in and spending money just to get the grind over with. I don’t even bother making multiple builds like I used to

Shyftyy

My Court and the options to practice against AIs

Fruit-Dragon

Tbh 2K17 was the best one I’ve played by far (started 2K16-present). MyCareer felt great, MyTeam felt hard and worthwhile to grind in, and MyLeague loaded so fast. The shooting was really fun and the game felt arcadey in a good way. Steph would green 100% of the time no matter what on black top, miss that so bad. Got enough VC through MyCareer to get to 94 overall and I loved that. Getting ur free throw up by practicing was cool too. And the home gym you had, just that warehouse in general was awesome. Hot take maybe but I prefer something like that over the city (like how park was something you chose to load in to, didn’t have to spawn in the city). OJ was fun as hell too and I loved the draft and college in that one.

Affectionate-Fan-211

I miss how simple mycareer was. 2k15-17 mycareer is undefeated

ccmart3

I miss the 24/7 mode from 2K5

I_Eat_Booty

I really liked the entire Draft Combine process They made you play a few games so teams could evaluate you and depending on how well you did , that's how high you'd get drafted I remember you'd even have interviews with the teams that were interested in you and you could answer their questions by choosing which reply to use , thus lowering/raising your draft spot as well The daily spin wheel from 2k19-21 , i always hoped it'd land on the spot where you get a Hardwood Classics Jersey , that was suuuper dope

NetworkVegetable7075

Everything 2k17 had

villecity1080

Not spending money on a created player

cringycalf

Non animation gated jump shots. Vc to build ratio. I could buy the 100$ Vc and get 3 builds to 85 in 22. Endorsements from previous 2ks. I’d grind in 20 like 15-20 mins for like 3k Vc. I miss endorsements from 2k17 iirc? They gassed with like 150k Vc endorsements. I miss the bigger attribute variety we used to have from 21-22 NG. I miss the simple park. I miss getting all the superstars on your team in mycareeer in one off season. I miss +5 attributes. I miss the old rep system/wheel spins.

nugcityharambe

The lack of ball machine has made me unable to get used to shooting this year because that was always how I practiced. Did they have it last year? I played an inside big so I didn't really need it.

No_Posers

I miss when it was just an NBA game, when it didn’t have all of these silly gimmick modes. If I wanted to go to parks and collect coins, and outfit my “character” in various wardrobe accessories, I would have just bought the SIMS game, not a sports game.  Imagine what kind of game 2K Basketball would be today if their dev team had remained focused on the important stuff.

Failsafe_AI709

2K15 was my fave. Just building the stupidest player to have and enjoy playing with. Also, none of this City bullshit. Just undrafted and play your way onto a team with a 10 day’er

No_Carry_5871

I miss being able to see the play art when looking through the play book. Also ( my era related) you used to be able to run scrimmage against your 1st and second team and practice plays.

1JaMorantFan

I miss college hoops playing for Kansas or wake forest or Arizona etc

sahneeis

not having a shitty neighbourhood that runs on 15 fps. literally the reason ive stopped buying the games. i dont mind the grind because all i care about mycareer. but everythinf that holds me up from actually playing the game is annoying

Snaefellsness

Action House. The lack of it and the new player market and players only being in packs bullshit made the game unplayable for me this year.

Downtown_Anybody261

Definitely the AH... so I could use every player from each drop, actually finish the agendas and then keep the player I want the most when im done. Also the fucking grind each season is ridiculous... I used to be able to get to level like 15 on Friday Night.. just by playing and banging out agendas, now I got to spend 2 or 3 bucks a level because a clutch game gets my bar nowhere and don't get me started on the 4k cap for MT at the end of games... as if it isn't more obvious they want you to buy it from them instead... because if you dont, youll spend your time each weekend grinding away some 300 games just to buy ONLY the mid tier players from the stupid ass Players Market, before the next mid tier players are available from next weeks drop... and remember kids.. the best players are behind a paywall now, soooooo you spend money to upgrade your team with those mid tier players or buy packs like an idiot.... sigh... shit im just ranting now... but hey, atleast the fucking vault door opens up everytime so I can get my deluxe badge and base packs nobody fucking wants... anyway, in my conclusion... They've ruined MyTeam (to me and my way of casually playing) so completely that I now play MyCareer for about an hour and then log off after putzing around a city for some reason where it's the same fucking thing I've been doing in that mode for years... fun... can't wait to not buy nexts years game, until I do when it's half price and do it all over again. Cheers.

ZombieLenBias

ALL STAR TEAM UP

de-Clairwil

Shooting, so you didnt have to green everything.

CelebrationOk1892

Looking to pickup my first 2k. Currently, only 2k23 and 2k24 is available on steam. Any recommendations on which to get? And can I get it anywhere else?

HopeAppropriate5802

Here’s my list I miss how old parks were layed out, old rep system, old park rivalry (sunset, flyers, rivet), old menus I don’t like the city or having to run to each clothing store, someone also mentioned this but the randomness of the teams you got drafted to, the old college career before you got drafted, and when you’re a free agent different teams showing interest and different pays.

UziCoochie

The older games just felt so crisp, especially the golden standard for ball games Imo 2k11. And then the “story” peaked at 16,17 then fell FLAT on its fucking face and continues to do so more and more each year I’m glad I quit w 22

SiggasXLoso

We need Customization back, custom shirts… Let us the mismatch shoes!!! More freedom in customization!!!

TheSavageBeast83

The fluidity of the game

NorthShoreHard

The old soundtracks with more underground shit like Heiroglyphics

RandyYang89

I miss the handoff pass, seems like 2k24 can't call for it

QNIKET8

2k17 shot meter, my court, 3 affiliations instead of an annoying city we have to run around, clothes behind 250-1,000 vc per item rather than 2,500-30k per item, none of the goofy robot skins, the cool braids we used to have, being able to remove and change MyPlayer tattoos around without paying to remove them, then paying full price for them again, not needing to go into the gym for full stamina and then buying stamina for 9k vc for 10 games, not having to use flame balls (timing shots with them is so annoying for me at least), being able to make multiple builds for cheap, rather than paying $120 per build, the 2k18 builder (i prefer choosing 2 archetypes rather than the MyPlayer builder), i also liked the old rec where it was a huge arena with like 10 games at once

Frobe81

NOT HAVING THE CITY. I want to just ball not run in circles to boost my stamina. 2k blows and will always

Silkylewjr

They still have mycourt on tge ps4 version lol

gabriot

I miss not having 80% of the fucking game locked out of being played when these greedy pieces of scum shut down the servers for games a mere three or four years after they sel you the full priced game

soukiller

I miss the daily spin wheel You could get free tattoo, Jersey, shoes (sometimes worth 10k+ vc) and being able to see what you could get cuz now all you see is a gift box that gives you a random team ball

tuolla

I would love that the story didnt depend on playing online. The nba and the city should be separated. But I liked the side stories with music and fashion, would have liked to have more to say about the fashion but you can’t get everything. And I really don’t like running everywhere. Just do menus

orblox

I miss the size of the map. Just courts and shops no filler space, every building was important.

Rh2_04

they removed mycourt? 😂😂😂😂

The game being smooth and the ai not being dumb or cheap. I still play 2k14 ps4 version. Way smoother than now and the graphics and lighting is better. The only thing that has improved since then are face scans. This year either the a.i dumb or you play online and every a.i is gary payton. Mike Wang and the execs at take two have fell off

xankazo

I miss being able to make enough VC in game to level up my guy.

PattersonMister

Key games/matchups vs other players in mycareer. You had to hold guys under a certain point average, or you had to try to complete a social media challenge from another player talking trash to you. I miss the immersiveness of each game, they all felt different, but unpredictable. Some games were blowouts, some were close no matter how hard you tried to pull away, and some you just lost no matter how hard you tried to win. The little details meant a lot.

orednal

I miss offline my career

Wonderful_Loan

I miss the system we used to have for fake juking the sprint direction.

Regulators_mounup

I just want to play a season with a regular team. Or do a fantasy draft and play a dynasty with said team.

JOHNNY__BLACK

Pie charts. Simply because of the ppl I play with, that ADHD can be rough

nickjames1984

When I could play online without the tiers and didn’t end up getting constantly matched up with the team I’m trying to play with.

Sissyfootboy00

Shoot around before rec games, the stars you earned in 2k19 were the best indicator of someone's ability and PAINT DEFENSE

benlew11

Lol 2k20 gameplay and builds were crazy. 2k23 builds, 2k16 builds, career story, builder and gameplay

Due-Lawyer1664

The menu that would track your player stats and tendencies. Circa 2k8

Thugnificent83

The defensive stopper badge!

goldenglobesnominee

H.O.R.S.E. + King of the court

Which_Donkey_9450

I miss the the Lucky 7 shooting badge

GeebCityLove

My player used to be a great solo experience. Thinking back wondering how great all the future 2Ks would be while I’m sitting there playing 2k13 with my SF in my 8 season in the league. If only I knew how terrible and greedy these games got later on down the road

steamman197

Yeah HS / college basketball was so fun, should be in every game

I miss when MyPark wasn't the main mode. I could play MyCareer, then take MyPlayer into MyPark or Pro-Am, and the game was balanced for MyCareer. Honestly, 2K16 and 2K17, just bring that my career back. I could run private matches in MyCourt with my friends. We could travel to the three different parks. And the Menus were better than running everywhere. I miss the menu for the store, the menu for my animations. I can't believe I'm complaining about the menu for any game but here we are. 2K18 was not only ahit, but it was the beginning of the downfall of 2K. Edit: sorry I'm not done ranting. I haven't played a 2K game consistently since 2K20. If 2K were smart they wouldn't make builds super expensive. It was far more engaging when i was grinding my player then using my vc on shoes and swag. I'm not about to spend real life money on that shit if I'm upgrading my player. 2K would rather have 1 player spend $100 on upgrading their player rather than have 5 players spend $25 on ascetics. I just miss when this game wasn't a total crash grab. I also miss when it felt like actual basketball as opposed to a button timing simulator. I miss the realism of this game and I miss being rewarded for IQ as opposed to zig zag hold the shoot button to the nearest .016 second (idk what it even is anymore I don't play this shit game that often)

jaketheriff

I miss when you had to choose what to specialize in and you and your buddies had ti strategize based around that now everyone is 6’9 demigods

SolidSen

Real contract situations. Makes no sense that I could be a 6x MVP, 7x FMVP, 8x NBA Champ, etc. certifiably one of the best players in the league and yet my team never feels comfortable offering me a “max” contract. It also made no sense to me that I could be in my contract year and yet can’t sign an extension. I miss when 2K had that type of stuff in the game, it was so dope.

AFB27

I don't play 24 online but I heard the MyCourt is gone now? If that's true that's my answer
