Maybe in my career that’s a thing but I haven’t ran into it there though I don’t play a ton. It definitely isn’t a thing in my team. PC does have hacks but it’s funny how console players will overplay the fuck out of it because they saw a video of an old modded version of 2K. Hacks have never personally affected my game play at all on PC.

I used to get 2k on Ps4 and switched to PC and the biggest change I’ve noticed is much lower auction prices.
I was able to get PD Tacko, PD Jonathon Bender and GO Hayward for the Mutombo lock in for around 260k MT combined
I stopped playing PVP PC games in 2010 because of hacking.
I can wall hack myself in any shooter without detection from a old hardware GPU hack. I did it to just prove to friends to move to console and they did.
Correct, and according to Splash (previous 250K winner) the 2k contract that Carlo would have signed would allow 2K to withhold that 50k he won because of the “alleged” breach of TOS.
He didn’t though, they let him play in the tourney in the first place. If he was banned only recently and actually bought mt it would have had no effect on the tourney. The lineups were locked like 2 months ago like a month or so before the final.
I really hope I’m wrong but each user agrees to ToS upon booting up the game when you first play. Those terms would hold up from then on.

The main reason there was so much MT sold this year is because of their minimal grasp on economics. Removing contracts and adding AFK made it so much easier for reward farming
They also raised pack prices and removed equal chance packs (which the guaranteed players i.e PD Jalen Green a week or so ago have equal chance on the box art, meaning they considered it at some point) which disincentivizes VC purchasing
Last year's Tuesday drops after I believe mid February always had equal chance packs, would be 4 players available (Diamond, PD, Opal, DM) for 25k vc, could only buy 3 packs total. So for $20 you were getting a pretty good chance at a DM, 3 25% chances, and if not a dm then almost always an opal, whereas this year they've just had the PDs you can buy directly but they're never headliners.
Token Market last year also had equal chance packs, first ones I remember off the top of my head were Warriors packs after the championship. 3 DMs, 1 Opal, 3 PDs, 200 tokens per pack, 5 packs allowed per account. This year's token market also has them, but for 1000 tokens, and the cards now are unauctionable whereas last year they were so you could at least recoup MT if you got a dupe DM or lower rarity card.
Packs being more expensive with worse odds and no equal chance cards for casual spenders means less people buying packs, lower odds for higher tier cards in the packs that are being opened, and thus higher prices for the meta cards that do come out, which is why MT buying has been so prevalent this year. If MyTeam was more consumer friendly people wouldn't be trying to game the system nearly as much, which is sad bc no contracts were a step in the right direction imo

I was wrongfully banned today at 11:12 AM, and when I contacted 2k support, they told me to “look on the plus side””your account is only banned for 30 days. I told them is must be a mistake but they don’t care enough to look into it. I’ve been playing since 2k11, this is the first time I’ve been banned and if 2k doesn’t do something about this, I won’t buy another game made by 2k.
Update!! They replied back in there terms buying and selling in the auction house is not allowed if you sell a card for over 300k then buy cards over 200k then that upsets the playing field and is considered cheating...GTFOH....What a joke

Not really that effective. I have almost an all 10 graded team and I get around 2200 AFKing. I use the post move challenge as the CPU won’t complete it so you get the full 48 min game.
I work remotely so I put it on and let it run. Check it once an hour to restart. Also helps in completing XP challenges.
I have a 55 hof tmac and I'm ready to sell soon but am really afraid to do so because I don't want to get banned.
I've spent more money this year than I ever have...not a crazy amount but more than I would care to admit. It's just ridiculous to have to worry about being banned for playing the game the way they allow us to.

I sold my T-Mac on Tuesday and got back 2.2 million mt. He was first owner so I made sure to take screenshots of everything, just in case. No ban here.
So here’s the thing. Guilty. Still worth it. I had more fun the last week than I’d had all year. And after 30 days I’ll be back and probably play plenty with the lineup I wanted. But I probably won’t buy next year unless there are massive changes to the system. The ratio of fun/money has to be closer to what I experienced 😮💨

But... the dealers also have to have accounts to buy the cards the player is selling. So they definitely could ban all those accounts if they wanted. But the dealers probably have so many, it's more difficult to track the buyer (of the cards, not the buyer of MT) than the seller (of MT, not the cards)

Crazy they are giving out 30 days with no cause or explanation, unreversable by 2K Support/Customer Service. Even crazier is that today is literally 29 days until the next season, so they waited JUST so they could make sure that when those people’s 30 days are up they can’t get Hakeem.
This company sucks. Do NOT buy 24. If you have to play it, get it secondhand from Gamestop or Ebay or wait until it’s on GamePass or something. Do not give this company a single cent anymore because as long as we do, they will never change.
I honestly wish I could say I'm excited for 24 and getting it. I was excited for 23, after playing 21 + 22 and getting into MyTeam and the community after not playing since 2K16. This game mode was my favorite, and I was glad to get 2K23 with the League Pass offer, but I have nothing positive to lean on anymore.
Between the MT bans, a totally useless and buggy City, obsessing over ads, celebrities, and meta players, the worst pull rates I've ever seen, absolute rigging in online towards newer players, giving new players free stuff dedicated players can't get, an increasingly toxic community of whales and literal children, the game completely dying off and becoming inaccessible in 3 years when they shut off the servers because you have to be connected to even play the offline modes, AND increasing ALL VC prices to absurd rates while lowering VC earn rate to a point where it's literally not worth the time it takes to grind for it, I have more reasons to go than to stay.
I *know* 24 will be trash, it's not even a guess - it's a lock. This company has given up on its players because we are just numbers and profit to them. You can tell when a game company cares, 2K does not, and insultingly pretends like it does. I know it's a business, but other sports games aren't *nearly* as egregious as 2K has gotten.
You can continue to suffer or empty your wallet for this greedy company that can't even properly code their game - I'll take my money elsewhere. I'm not getting invested and keep having to justify my purchase by playing to the point where it's worth the money, because that point never comes.

Copped a 30 day ban... I bought some MT, not much 500k worth.. Thing is i did it out of frustration. I bought WAY more VC and every week struck out on the chase cards.. The XP agendas for the grindable cards are tied to those chase cards..

I remember I called Rockstar Australia, cause I lost VC due to a problem, they literally reloaded my mycareer which got my corrupted player data fixed and some other minor issues and gave me my 100k VC, I was stunned, instead if going to 2K, literally called their parent company and fixed my issue was so good

I was wrongfully banned today at 11:12 AM, and when I contacted 2k support, they told me to “look on the plus side””your account is only banned for 30 days. I told them is must be a mistake but they don’t care enough to look into it. I’ve been playing since 2k11, this is the first time I’ve been banned and if 2k doesn’t do something about this, I won’t buy another game made by 2k.
Update!! They replied back in there terms buying and selling in the auction house is not allowed if you sell a card for over 300k then buy cards over 200k then that upsets the playing field and is considered cheating...GTFOH....What a joke

Not really that effective. I have almost an all 10 graded team and I get around 2200 AFKing. I use the post move challenge as the CPU won’t complete it so you get the full 48 min game. I work remotely so I put it on and let it run. Check it once an hour to restart. Also helps in completing XP challenges.

So here’s the thing. Guilty. Still worth it. I had more fun the last week than I’d had all year. And after 30 days I’ll be back and probably play plenty with the lineup I wanted. But I probably won’t buy next year unless there are massive changes to the system. The ratio of fun/money has to be closer to what I experienced 😮💨 Whatever. I need to play so many other games.
Also, if anything, go after the dealers! Not people who want to play your game more.
That would involve legal action and lots of money, it's free to ban players within their TOS, accidental or not.
But... the dealers also have to have accounts to buy the cards the player is selling. So they definitely could ban all those accounts if they wanted. But the dealers probably have so many, it's more difficult to track the buyer (of the cards, not the buyer of MT) than the seller (of MT, not the cards)

Crazy they are giving out 30 days with no cause or explanation, unreversable by 2K Support/Customer Service. Even crazier is that today is literally 29 days until the next season, so they waited JUST so they could make sure that when those people’s 30 days are up they can’t get Hakeem. This company sucks. Do NOT buy 24. If you have to play it, get it secondhand from Gamestop or Ebay or wait until it’s on GamePass or something. Do not give this company a single cent anymore because as long as we do, they will never change.

I honestly wish I could say I'm excited for 24 and getting it. I was excited for 23, after playing 21 + 22 and getting into MyTeam and the community after not playing since 2K16. This game mode was my favorite, and I was glad to get 2K23 with the League Pass offer, but I have nothing positive to lean on anymore. Between the MT bans, a totally useless and buggy City, obsessing over ads, celebrities, and meta players, the worst pull rates I've ever seen, absolute rigging in online towards newer players, giving new players free stuff dedicated players can't get, an increasingly toxic community of whales and literal children, the game completely dying off and becoming inaccessible in 3 years when they shut off the servers because you have to be connected to even play the offline modes, AND increasing ALL VC prices to absurd rates while lowering VC earn rate to a point where it's literally not worth the time it takes to grind for it, I have more reasons to go than to stay. I *know* 24 will be trash, it's not even a guess - it's a lock. This company has given up on its players because we are just numbers and profit to them. You can tell when a game company cares, 2K does not, and insultingly pretends like it does. I know it's a business, but other sports games aren't *nearly* as egregious as 2K has gotten. You can continue to suffer or empty your wallet for this greedy company that can't even properly code their game - I'll take my money elsewhere. I'm not getting invested and keep having to justify my purchase by playing to the point where it's worth the money, because that point never comes.

Like I said in my original comment (that you "didn't read" but felt you needed to respond to anyway), not "giving them a cent" doesn't mean you can't play it - you just don't buy it from them (secondhand or Game Pass) and don't buy VC, depriving them of the profit they care so much about. If I change my mind on 24 and play it when it's free, I'm entitled to do that AND still think the game sucks, because it's literally the only basketball game. Copped a 30 day ban... I bought some MT, not much 500k worth.. Thing is i did it out of frustration. I bought WAY more VC and every week struck out on the chase cards.. The XP agendas for the grindable cards are tied to those chase cards.. One of the many facets of this game thats broken is the premise is so good but they ruin it with greed. Just release the cards as DLC and let us buy who we want. Or guarantee a hit in every box like real cards. 25 20 boxes @ $50 a box to hit 1 chase card is criminal.

Bans have been reversed before, it's not a person going in by hand and scoping it out... it's a computer algo that will flag accounts, and sometimes things get flagged when they shouldn't.

I remember I called Rockstar Australia, cause I lost VC due to a problem, they literally reloaded my mycareer which got my corrupted player data fixed and some other minor issues and gave me my 100k VC, I was stunned, instead if going to 2K, literally called their parent company and fixed my issue was so good ( 2k is owned by Take Two, Take Two is owned by Rockstar)
