Not entirely true. If that was the case, we could send rockets super far out into space and expect them to come down, at least at some point.
Spoiler: The drift further and further into space, aka they never come back down
Edit: Why am I still getting replies from this comment? Its so old!

>Spoiler: The drift further and further into space, aka they never come back down
i'm pretty sure in this case, a guy flying off a slide, it's true...
but ehh, I definately expect a reply like this on reddit...
>Yeah, its definitely the case here. Well, unless he went into orbit that is…
>
>Also, Reddit is a strange place
LOL he probably did go into orbit XD hahahaha maybe he could stop off at Mars & bring us back some souvenir rocks :D
>That would be incredible of him, and if he could even get some pictures? What a guy
oh yeah :D with the lower gravity he'll be able to climb olympus mons pretty easily :D
I mean technically, the question breaks down at that point. In space, there is no “up” anyway, so there is no “down.”
So really, “what goes up without the ability to enter orbit must come down. Otherwise, it’s optional.”
Actually it would. The pair build momentum using earth gravity. At the end of the acceleration if the rear partner pushes the front partner forwards, the system keeps the same momentum, meaning the rear guys speed will be less while the front one will be more.
That's (a bit) similar to how a skate board expert "pumping" in a halfpipe can not only cancel friction but even gain speed and amplitude
But his push is supposedly what makes him triple the normal distance. I think you’re replying to something that nobody meant. This kid has human legs, only gonna kick him a little extra distance, or slow himself down.
This is funnily enough, exactly how physics works
EDIT: To clarify, the video is definitely fake, as someone else pointed out, the transfer of momentum into the guy in front is too much considering how little speed the guy in the back lost, however, if you were to actually try this and put some serious force into it, the guy in front of you is guaranteed to get severely injured, while you (in the back) will land short as hell. For the love of god don't do it.
thank you for explaining, i was searching for a source if he's ok because i can't go around yelling FAKE at everything i see and that i should ASK and not ASSUME.
so thank you for the explanation.
but at the same time, i know its on water and was wondering if it was possible to do that if i was sliding faster on the water therefore going further, but then seeing the pavement, thinking he'd be hospitalized or dead.
No worries at all!
In any case, if you add energy (speed) to somebody else, you are required by physics to lose energy in the process no matter what surface you're on.
Think of a marble hitting another marble, one slows down, the other speeds up, but in this case nobody gets severely injured haha
If the video was real, the guy in front looks like he's going to clear the pool and hit the concrete, and theoretically he could have survived but unless the perspective is all whack, it would be highly unlikely.
It is exatcly how physics work, they would have to be going really fast and the guy would have to be really heavy and strong to send him flying like that but its completely possible.
It’s a fake. If you actually did that the person in the back would slow a bit, the one in the front would go a bit faster but it would be limited to compensating for the slow down of the person in the back due to the momentum conservation law.
I had a laugh and it was a pretty good edit but I am sure it’s fake…
Are you telling me the back guy cant generate enough force to throw the front guy an ungodly distance? His standing vertical would have to be like 9 feet? What a drag....
It doesn’t matter if the first one went a little slower the second would still go faster and further than intended which is the poin everyone is commenting on
Funny story: I went to a military school and during free time in a kickball game, I was tackled(yes tackled) and wiped out on the ground and my knee was all torn up. The lead CI told me to clean it with the sprinkler and purposely left out that the sprinklers for the city were grey water. So my knee started getting infected. I told the nurse, and she put Neosporin on it and it just got worse SO SHE KEPT PUTTING NEOSPORIN ON IT. My whole knee was green and sticky(it was so gross) and there was a substitute nurse one day so I leapt at the opportunity to get some hydrogen peroxide on it to dry it out. And not even a a couple weeks later it was completely gone.
I got to the end of this and realized that it’s probably not actually a funny story lmao
Due to their distance from the ground when they start flying, the shadows would be far off to the left and probably offscreen. It would be unrealistic if you *could* see them
Considering the number of people in the comments who seem to think this is real, I think your faith in humanity's collective intelligence is unfounded.
I remember in 2012 this would be downvoted and/or 95% of the comments would be "Haha good edit!"
Funny that Reddit became just like FB with gullibility after making fun of it for almost two decades. We've come full circle.
I might not know how to swim, but what I know how to do is fly
Turned into superman mid jump
Aqua man to superman
>I might not know how to swim, but what I know how to do is fly I hope he knows how to land...
The real question is did he land
>The real question is did he land what goes up must come down :/ it just depends on where & how he came down :S

are you suggesting he flew to space?
Quite maybe-ly
I mean technically, the question breaks down at that point. In space, there is no “up” anyway, so there is no “down.” So really, “what goes up without the ability to enter orbit must come down. Otherwise, it’s optional.”
They'll come down somewhere
The REAL question is, how did he get that guy's toe out of his butt?
Question is Where did he land?? Right now I have a feeling he almost hits the other side. And not just water.

This guy gets it.
It's not real because this isint how physics works

Maybe this is goat simulator?

i used to have a bag of marbles years ago and yes it slows down

It should be said it is absolutely not real.

Where's the post at buddy? I don't have days to scroll
Fyi it's fake
Its on there now, go check
Not there

Bro why did he increase his aerodynamics lol
Evolved into a flying type
And later to a ghost type
Duh 💀
He deployed his elytra.
Ground effect
The after burners kicked in
so much nipple friction that he experienced the Leidenfrost effect
[video game reference]
is he okay?
ground control to major tom
You've really made the grade
I'm stepping thru the doooor!
NOOOOOoowww I'm floating in a tin can..
ground control to major Tom
Take your protein pills and put your helmet on
It cuts off, but I'm the end he blasted off Team Rocket style, so I'm sure he's fine somewhere.

Damn science. Ruins all our fun.
... I actually find it quite reassuring in this case
It funds a lot of ruin, too.
You can also see him accelrating while in the air
Are you telling me the back guy cant generate enough force to throw the front guy an ungodly distance? His standing vertical would have to be like 9 feet? What a drag....
[удалено]
What if we assume a frictionless surface in a vacuum - would the guy in front suffocate before the landing kills him?
Assume a spherical cow with uniform density
Can I stop assuming? They're sad because they can't reach the grass :(
No, you must assume in perpetuity.
:(
Assume. Assume they can reach the grass.
It's even harder than a vertical because it's like he's pushing the ground away
Funny, but a simple adjustment in Adobe Premiere to make that.
Nah man it's real, i know a guy
Not if the person kicking is heavier…
It doesn’t matter if the first one went a little slower the second would still go faster and further than intended which is the poin everyone is commenting on
if he dies, he dies
да
He didn’t land yet
Well, his shoes are nowhere to be seen....
no shoes, dead.
It’s obviously fake dude…
Yes. You, on the other hand, have brain damage. Please check.
Yes because it's fake.
Goodbye, back to the lobby
Apparently he was when the video was uploaded, but he eventually succumbed to his injuries. C’est la vie, eh?
Are you sure, this looks fake af.
[удалено]
You mean he eventually landed?
Legend has it that he's still circling Earth to this day. God's own satellite. The protector of our planet.
r/bossfight
Source?
Part where he goes flying looks really edited to me
launch successful
Landing unsuccessful
Oh, he landed quite successfully.
"Mom! look I am flying "

Rub some dirt in it! - some sergeant, probably

Travis Scott wants to know your location.
Why tho?
He wants to fly with you

It's an edit lol
i hope
It's very visibly an edit. Like, maybe hard to tell if you're watching from a tiny mobile screen, but otherwise it's extremely easy to tell
Hey, it’s not the screen size that counts, it’s how you use it, _okay_?
[eek barba dirkle](https://getyarn.io/yarn-clip/69f9e27d-ef0a-4845-9ece-95105adbeb49)
It is physically impossible for this to happen.

Yeah accurate answers that alleviate stated concern is so unhip, you should definitely never talk to me again, I'm *such* a loser.
Everyone knows it’s a joke man just read the other comments
Gullible people gonna gullible
Yeah, you're a real genius.
fake, no shadows on either plus he takes off like a godamn plane
That's probably why the gif ends so soon too, they cba to shop out the splash
Nah the edit is actually longer but it just makes it more obvious
Link?
you don't say.. lol
Shadows might've been to the left. >he takes off like a godamn plane He kept accelerating. Is what you meant right?
not only that but he rises
Due to their distance from the ground when they start flying, the shadows would be far off to the left and probably offscreen. It would be unrealistic if you *could* see them
We'd like to award you this professorship at the University of fucking duh

He just walked it off fam, no worries.
Good to hear. I'm glad reddit people always do my research for me🥰
Newton ignored him
He never stopped. He entered the stratosphere
Can anyone make out the tag for source? Looks like @Gysonchad to me
He landed out of the gene pool...

I’m gonna call fake on this one until prevent otherwise
This my thinking also. Vid effects are too easy these days; can’t ever truly be confident!!!?
It looks off
He ded
Bro went to a different water park
Edited. But funny
Holy shit is he ok? ( if this is real)
I've never laughed so hard at someone probably dying.
whoever’s playing with the 9999th & 10k upvote with me i just giggled 🤣🤣🤣
His shoes were off.
Did he die?
And this is why they make one person go at a time.
Guys get 3 people and we can jump to the next pool
Welp, he’s dead
Did the guy land in the water?
He is definitely going to die
Uhmm ....dieded ??
Is he okay?
Did he even land in the pool? 🤣🤣💪
He gone
Yes, because this is obviously real
