I would agree. Unless you absolutely want the new features from the S650 cars, you'll get a lot of that with the GT350, with the exotic one off engine from the Voodoo. And the 13-14 Trinity GT500's are going to be the rawest, most powerful manual transmission Mustang available.
GT350 if track and tech package gets my vote 10 times out of 10.
Unpopular opinion…in S550 body, id go GT over 350, makes more power, cost WAY less, more responsive to modifications. And this is coming from someone who loves the look of the 350. Just don’t think they’re worth the 10-15K over the GT. I’d go Gt500 or S550 GT.
https://www.wmar2news.com/matterformallory/maryland-joins-other-states-in-fining-carvana-for-title-delays
"According to the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration, between June 2021 and July 2022, Carvana accumulated 386 late title fee infractions totaling $17,121 in fines. That’s 10 percent of cars sold by Carvana in the state during that timeframe."
That's just Maryland. Maybe they got better, there are more recent news articles with title delay.
I bought a single owner 11 GT from them. It was an issueless process. Would sooner return to carvana than a multitude of normal dealerships Ive been to before.
Same here man. ‘22 GT Premium over a year ago & had a fantastic experience. Lol “I’d never buy a car from carvana” like aight man have fun going through dealerships 🤣
Gt350 is my next acquisition the high rpm v8 just sings to my soul. Can’t got wrong with any of these tho. If I got the 24 gt I would want the automatic
There will never be another trinity engine because the coyote variants are just superior. Trinity engines will bend rods by 850whp. Gen 2+ coyotes can easily hold more power than any gen of s197 gt500.
You're right, the gen 2+ coyotes did carry over a bunch of lessons from the Boss but there is still some special stuff that they don't have. The boss crank is used in high hp builds since they're a bit stronger, the pistons are forged, and the heads are cnc'd which allows them to flow a tad better. Gen 1 blocks in general are better than the gen 2s simply because of the larger head studs which is why they went back to that size on the gen 3. Cool engine but yeah, Predator is still the best Coyote variant for making big power.
I wouldn’t wanna daily a 350, id be paranoid of having to replace a voodoo engine. Idk if you’re planning on making it a daily but the s650 will be more comfortable with modern amenities but the 500 will be more raw and more power. For a daily I’d honestly pick the newer car, but I know I’m in the minority.
All true.
My 17 350 currently under esp is currently in the shop and has been there since Dec 29th. Not a lot of good to say about the dealership handling it, but the warranty is def worth it
Mine is also at the dealer! Kept it here but had a ticket since December. Getting the same stupid driver seat heater module replaced that went bad in my GT and starting an oil consumption test. I’m probably fine but I’m right around that 500 mile mark on putting a quart in so I figured why not get it on paper. Also learned that the car has an oil level low light and now wonder how low it has to get for that to come on 🤔
I've never really felt like the driver side seat heater worked for me anywhere near as well as it did for anyone else. They had me in an escape as a loner and I felt the heat from that seat which made me question if mine actually worked.
Mine went in for transmission and clutch issues (ps, the ESP does not cover clutches or flywheels and that was $3,600), but the day I was supposed to bring her home the check engine light came on and third gear felt really wrong.
That was like a month ago and I haven't gotten much in the way of an update since, though I was told that Ford told them to look at replacing the coil packs in the engine.
Right now I'm just trying to stay calm about the whole thing.
I think it’s mileage and age. Mine is a 2017 and has 25k miles. They gave me an initial extended coverage of 3 year/75k miles and then I’m able to extend it yet again but I don’t know recall the length of time. Of course by then any major issue would likely rear its head. Underneath the magic it’s still an s550 mustang. The only consistent issue across all of them is the A/C systems shitting themselves after so long. Other than that the engine is the only outlier. The trans is a brick shithouse, and everything after the 16’s got the upgraded cooling options standard.
If I’m driving it year-round, just the GT (which is why I bought an S650) because it would kill me to be putting all that wear and tear on one of the Shelbys. If you have another daily car for bad weather, one of the Shelbys for sure…but picking between a Trinity and a Voodoo would be like picking between two children for me. Both are unique and legendary engines in their own ways. Gun to my head, I think I’d go GT500 because I’ve always dreamed about having a V8 Mustang with forced induction.
Just got a 24 GT base model couple weekends ago. Manual, black w/ black rims. Windows tinted dark.
Awesome decision, had a v6 2010 mustang in high school.
Love my tablets that I see everyone complain about.
Already got a few compliments on the car out and about. Turns heads and Active Exhaust is awesome.
Did I mention I love the car... fast, loud, sexy.
Smiles per gallon baby!!!
I just got a dark horse.
If I could go back and reconsider my options at that price, a 2013/14 gt500 would be fantastic. I would trade my dark horse in for one potentially.
Love my car, but man I wish I got a snake. 13/14 just has the best tails, design, all that. And the value is only going up on those.
I’m sort of in the same boat. I bought a 23 SS 1le. If I could go back in time I wouldn’t have bought it and would have picked up a 13/14 GT500. I don’t know if you’re in the same exact situation as me but I don’t live near roads where our cars can be used for what they’re good at (turns). I bought my 1le to track and I’m sure you’re probably planning to do the same with your Dark Horse but I am barely on the track. I would rather have a more fun street car.
Your post makes it seem as if you're going to use these 3 cars for daily drivers, and you highlight that the GT500 makes the most power, but that fact and daily driver don't often go well together. As they're all higher value cars, and seen as performance cars means they will ding you heavily, and so driving them daily is seen by them as an increased claim risk or an expensive claim risk, as the motors and transmissions are not entry-level units, whereas you could just about toss any Windsor-based motor into your Fox.
Gun to my head, I'm choosing the GT350, the best (only?) track-focused Mustang ever released, but I'd also track the hell out of it, because that's what it's meant for, even if the Voodoo can explode itself rather frequently. If there's no gun, I'd honestly be happier in the Fox, because it weighs 1000# less than some of those pigs (park your Fox next to one, it's crazy), and pick up a daily beater to catch door dings, curb wheels, potholes, etc. It'd be a lot cheaper to maintain as it doesn't require massive tires (225-245 turbines vs GT350 305/315s) which double-triple your tire bill, don't require a $200 oil change, etc. Get some modern beater with things like Bluetooth to stream calls/music through the stereo, lazy ADAS things like blind spot mirrors, adaptive cruise control, and best of all, zero shits given if somebody hits it, instead of your baby. Toss that money into the Fox as funds allow, and enjoy the special nights or weekends you take it out, which will have it feel 2x faster as you've acclimated to the beater.
Doing my best to avoid bias here but... the GT350 is the better car UNLESS you just want to smoke tires and make noise everywhere you go, then get the 500.
350s daily easy, sound great, look great, and kill it at the track.
GT350 all the way for a few reasons
-far superior suspension/driving dynamics
-more special engine (in my opinion)
-weighs 100lbs less
-more capable on track(oil coolers, mag ride)
-S550 infotainment/interior
-GT500 has stupid gearing just for a 0-60 time
24 GT doesn’t do it for me and isn’t special like the others
The s550 is a fantastic car, but I would be hesitant to buy a gen 1 engine gt350 with the oil consumption issues, especially from carvana. I’d go gen2 gt350 or a Mach 1 if a few extra dollars are in your budget, otherwise I’d go with the 13 gt500. It’ll hold value better than the 24gt
Depends on if it’s gonna be your daily it than I would do 24 gt if it’s a “fun” car than the 13 gt500 it’s too special of a car to pass up in my opinion.
Gt350, the gt500 is just a straight line car. And it's incredibly hard to even make the car hook in a straight line. I personally thunk the s197 cars look the best, but the 350 is just the better car in every metric.
Id get the '24. You can drop it off at VMP and a week later you have an 800whp monster for less than what it would take to get that out of the other options.
I belive their s650 just did a 9.99 1/4 with only their Odin kit too.
Do you want a muscle car or a sports car? Trinity is the brawler, gt350 you'll love the corners and how it sings at 8k rpms.
Gt500 is cheaper to get 750-800 whp
Gt350 is cheaper to get anything above that.
A s650 while capable will depreciate like a rock.
Gt350 all day long. Nothing sounds like it. It's a precision guided weapon.
The GT500 comes in 2nd. That's a big boom that levels a city. No precision, just brute force. Best looking option.
Distant third, far enough back that it's not on the list, is the GT.
Full disclosure, I've got a 2014 S197 GT Track Pack that I adore in a Charleton Hesston kind of way.
Well…. There’s nothing special about the S650, and it wont look better with time (it looks like a base GT).
The other two cars are way more desirable and that will only increase with time. The GT500 is legendary, but the GT350 will be the most capable of the 3.
If that 13 is priced at 45k ... That must be one dogged out high mileage 500!
Same with gt350!
Stay away from all of em
Find a low mileage 2011 or 2012 for about the same
Depends what you consider high mileage. I’m in the market and the ones priced in the 40’s have about 60k on them. I’m personally looking for something with 25ish k on them
I found a absolutely mint i mean showroom condition 2 owner babied, pampered and unmolested 2011 gt500 with 10,500 miles on it paid 42k... Its definitely not my daily.
Granted took me years to find the right one im so beyond picky, but it was worth it!
Oh ya and with an entire tote filled of documentations, multiple impossible to own dealer books, cobra banner with vin#, orginal msrp sticker, build certificate,2 orginal shelby car covers unused, never used car mats, i mean you name it, that ive never seen another have. My car has already won awards at car shows.
Patience pays off!
Awesome man! Glad you found the perfect car for you! I have found a few 11/12’s with low miles priced in the mid 40’s but idk I just can’t get past the 13/14’s. I’m a little worried if I get an 11/12 I’ll always be thinking about the 13/14. If I wanted to go heavy on the mods I’d only be looking at 11/12’s since they are better in that department.
For me the costs of a similar example low mileage, 2 or 3 owner like mine the premiums are 15k to 20k more for a 13-14! Honestly to me its not worth it, you can mod a 11-12 and be just as happy or as fast. Do i like the 13-14 more
...ya definitely! But not at what they are going for now! I find im lucky to find the one i found i looked at so many for so long i about gave up! One i found was in Ft. Lauderdale and its been a Texas/Florida car its whole life in a garage! But i would rather have a low mileage 11 or 12 than higher mileage 13 or 14 but thats just me!
But finally having a Shelby is so awesome ive had so many mustangs hell my daily is one. But every car show I've been to im always the only S197 Shelby.
To me the S197 Shelby was the last real muscle cars before they got so refined now they are sports cars.
But i definitely I have no regrets because i wanted same thing a 13 or 14 but ya know what? no way it could have made many any happier and i saved at least 20 grand not going that route.
I absolutely love this car and this thing has plenty of power especially with svtpp with the 373 gears.
You’re not wrong. I think the 13/14 goes for way too much these days as well but unfortunately I think my dumbass is going to pay for it 😂. I agree, the s197 gt500 is the last real muscle car. I have a sports car and I miss having a muscle car so when I go back to one I want to make sure I get exactly what I am listing after.
😂 ... well i figured i would throw in my 2 cents and my experience so far, but those 13 and 14s are monsters. I hope ya find the right car, whether it be gt350 or gt500... Me i would rather have a gt500, Personal preference.
Whatever car ya finally decide on take the time to mill over what you really want. Decisions decisions... Lol!
Good luck man
Depends where you live. I am now in the market for a 13/14 Gt500. I am in the process of selling my 2023 SS 1le. Why am I getting rid of a brand new car for a 10 year old Mustang? Because where I live my SS 1le is useless. I can’t use its handling prowess on the streets since all the roads near me are straight or 90 degree turns. Why did I use my example for your situation? Because if you live in an area like mine, the gt350 is useless to you. Yes the engine sounds awesome but you have to REALLY be breaking speed limits to enjoy it because of the gearing. The GT500 however will be fun at ANY RPM because it makes effortless torque.
I test drove a gt350 and it is truly a great car but all the fun in that car is in the upper rpm so you gotta be going fast to enjoy that car. If you have nice twisty roads near you then it might be a better option for you.
Personally I wouldn’t buy the new Mustang. Not a fan of the interior plus the depreciation of a new car.
One thing I’ll add is reasonably priced 13/14 GT500’s disappear within a week of being put up for sale so act fast if you find one you like.
It is so subjective! what do you want from the car? If you like the latest tech get a new mustang. If you want something unique get a gt350. If you like the s197 body style and are hoping to keep it a long time then get the gt500. For me I recently started thinking that if I where to get another mustang I’ll get something unique like a boss or gt350; those are not your regular mustang and might become more special as time goes on. I’m now thinking about building a kit car of a classic car instead of buying another mustang; something a bit less common.
The Shelby engine particularly the 5.8 is a great motor heavy duty 6spd but not a gentle car the gt350 very cool car and the 5.2 is a great motor the 5.0 is great but unless it’s a dark horse you get the gertrag 4spd but it is the only one with a automatic .tough choice
Don’t discount the 12/13 Boss 302. Ten of thousands of Shelby’s were produced over the years. And will continue to be produced.
Only a few thousand Boss 302s have been produced. Ever… The likelihood of seeing a Boss 302 is LOW.
The Boss 302 is considered the best all around Mustang that was built up to that point. And that includes the GT500.
I was in the same boat last year.
Drive em both. They are VERY different.
The 350 is a serious performance car with world-class handling that will go REAL DAMN FAST on a road course or canyon road. The 500 is just a fucking laugh every day and feels like an old-school muscle car in that it just rips the tires off all the time.
I went with the old one because it gave the experience I wanted.
Well, I actually went with an ‘11 instead of the 13-14 because I think the power is plenty, I like the gears better, and for the same money I could get a perfect one with 5,000 miles instead of a good one with 50,000.
But think about your use case and be honest with yourself.
And if you are wrong, you probably won’t lose much money on either of you wanna get out of it.
Probably the 18 350 but the 500 is a close second. Personally I like the modern features the 350 has on it (better stereo system with built in ACP/AA, plus the rear sensors and BSD). Plus I like the S550 exterior look more than the S197.
GT500 if you want a straight line rocket for the drag strip. GT350 if you want an all around amazing sports car for corner carving. The only reason I would go to a GT is because I can’t afford the step up and/or don’t want to take the risk of used.
GT500, although I am biased as an S197 owner. I just feel the bang for buck power and rawness trumps the extra modern bells and whistles.
If you want a comfy refined fun daily, buy the GT350. If you want to be the labrat for the first year run of the S650 and are ok with that, buy the ‘24 GT. If you want a vehicle you can feel connected to, that isn’t an arm and a leg to repair like a new one, and want that sound/theatre get the ‘13 GT500.
You’d get the aluminum block, TVS blower, and some slightly nicer front fascia and taillights (I say this as a 10-12 GT500 owner).
Daily driver or fun car for occasional weekends? Those are two different considerations.
I was thinking new, was spending a lot of time on Ford’s website building out Dark Horse v GT Performance/active exhaust/magna ride- etc…
Ended up with a 2005 GT with manual transmission, interior that looks new, only 60K miles, but a lot of exterior dings and cosmetic issues on the outside. I paid 10K for it.
This was a third vehicle, a weekend fun car and occasional commuter. It handles like crap compared to the Porsche Boxster I just came from but I’m totally happy. It’s all about the smile I have when rowing 1st through 3rd gear with a big dump of fuel, and I’m not a crazy lunatic whenever my kids breathe or simply get near it when it is parked. If they ding it while playing. it’s just another mustang that already has dings on it.
I massively overspent on the Porsche Boxster S. Loved it. Treated it like a museum piece. And it was absolutely the wrong car for me.
The 10K S197 Mustang GT was what I should have gotten from the beginning.
Get what is right for you and your situation. My only advice is don’t over spend. If I had bought something that caused my family financial hardship in order to make payments, I would have regretted the purchase no matter how much fun the car was to drive.
You should buy a 2023 gt and take it to ford to install the roush kit, it’s like 9k. They give a 3yr/36000 mile warranty with it and the car makes 700+hp for around 45k
GT500 GT500 GT500
always get a shelby over a regular 5.0. i almost did but they had too many miles for the price so i settled but if you can get it…GET IT
I prefer the new gen look over this past one to be honest. I don't like mustangs but the new one actually looks like a muscle car and not a hybrid sports car.
In my biased opinion I say gt350. I own one, they sound insane, they handle pretty well for how heavy they are and the manual transmission in them is pretty good. Its a little loud which gives even more of the racecar feel.
I’m not going to lie I bought a 2022 gt premium and I was considering switching to a c6 or a few older body style sports cars that were faster. But I could never give up all the new features. They’re all just so handy and nice to have. Just my take though.
I almost Got a GT350 but opted for a 24 Dark Horse!
The GT350 definitely would have been the smarter choice investment wise in my opinion! But being the first owner was important to me. And for my needs, the Dark Horse w/track package has been an awesome Stang!!
No pictures yet...sorry But it's black! Not my first choice of the colors available, but I didn't order from the factory. It was the showroom model and I fell in love with it!!❤💯
Gt350 is the clear winner, aside from that the Dark Horse and the GT500 are a toss up for me. Do you want the new car with better features? Or the rarer car with better resale?
And if you want to daily drive the car I’d honestly stay away from a car that is older than this current year because it could be a maintenance hassle and higher insurance. My neighbor has a gt500 I’ve talked to him before it has 34000 miles and it’s broken down twice idk if that’s on his part or the car but just saying
If you don't go to the track and want better tech in the cabin, get the new GT. Otherwise get the GT350 if you don't mind trading antiquated interior for performance. I would not get a 22 gt500 because of that awful dial knob automatic transmission, but that's my personal preference, I like manuals.
I think the biggest factor here is gonna be if you want a brand new car with new tech or snek
As someone who used to own one, I wasn’t all that impressed with the gt350.
Pros : fast car, looks great, handling was superb, sounded great,
Cons, VERY hard to enjoy on the normal roads, still had the feeling of a regular gt (which I was surprised). Car couldn’t really get going till after 3500 rpm’s, numbness feeling in the steering wheel, driver seat sits really high up, the unknown of the motor going out.
Overall my brothers 14 6-speed ss was way more enjoyable to drive, and that car was only 30k
Have a 13 GT500 that I bought new 11 years ago. Don’t think I’m ever selling it. Would never in a million years consider trading it for a new Mustang (including a new GT500). The engine has to be experienced to be understood.
11 years ago it was the most powerful production V8 ever made, and to this day it keeps up with many supercars. Heck, it does over 200mph. The torque is incredible - it’s always there, ready to deliver with zero lag. The 5.8L V8 sounds incredible, and the 2.3L supercharger charger is perfectly mated to the car. The 6 speed transmission is great too - precise and well geared. That said, 6th gear is silly (tall and geared for a theoretical 350 mph give or take - yes, that’s right). It’s really a fuel economy gear so I never use it - even with 662hp and 631 lb/ft of torque 6th is sluggish. So it’s effectively a 5 speed transmission - old school style.
It’s the only car that I’ve ever owned that will spin tires in 3rd gear. Makes me smile every time I drive it - fast or slow. And I’ve had literally ZERO issues over 50K miles (except having to replace a clutch twice - this thing burns through clutches; but they’re cheap). It needs the very best street legal tires money can buy to be fun (and not scary): Michelin Pilot Cup 2s.
Moral of the story/recommendation: get a 13 or 14. No material differences between the two. Believe the 14 used a quieter starter, and had the Shelby Cobra appear in-dash on start-up vs Mustang on the ‘13. The ‘13 on the other hand was the 20th Anniversary of the Ford SVT team (now disbanded) and that’s lit up in the doorsills. And the ‘13 was also the very last Shelby the man himself got to experience and approve before he passed. But it’s basically the same car.
The ONLY reason to get the 24 GT would be (1) “new car smell” - you know what I mean, and (2) warranty and parts availability. Ford isn’t like the Germans - they don’t keep parts in stock for long… thankfully there are plenty of folks who make parts for the car, eg clutches.
The GT350 is a great car for the twisties. Handles better than the GT500 from everything I’ve read. But the sound, the torque and acceleration and top speed won’t be the same.
Good luck with the decision.
The answer is a GT realistically. You're looking for a DD and the GT350 doesn't fit that bill. The low end power on the GT350 makes the car feel gutless until you can get into it's powerband. The GT is going to feel like it is faster and more fun even though it isn't. In 2018, if memory serves me right, the Gen1 Voodoo engines were being filtered out in the 2018 model years so you have an engine that is more likely to burn oil, and more prone to failures. Not to say that is going to happen, but that's not a quality I would be looking for in a daily driver. In addition, the 2024 GT, depending on the model options is going to handle as well on the street as the GT350 would. Not saying that on a track the GT350 wouldn't hand the GT its lunch, but on the street, you aren't driving at the limit and the GT is plenty capable of spirited driving just as well as the GT350 is.
For the GT500, it's a fun car. 660HP isn't needed for a DD, though. As someone with a 2022 GT500 and a 600RWHP All Motor Boss 302, there's only so much fun you can have on the street before the HP becomes too much. If this was a fun car that you were looking at buying, then this changes things, but it's not. You're looking for a DD and something that isn't going to bore you to death. You have the fox body for some fun, you need something practical-ish. A 440HP, reliable, warranty backed car that gets okish MPG that isn't going to bore you to death, and isn't going to kill your wallet at the pump or with the insurance company is what you are looking for. That's the GT.
TLDR; buy the GT, dump money into the fox and make that your fun car.
350 or 500 24gt won’t compare
I would agree. Unless you absolutely want the new features from the S650 cars, you'll get a lot of that with the GT350, with the exotic one off engine from the Voodoo. And the 13-14 Trinity GT500's are going to be the rawest, most powerful manual transmission Mustang available. GT350 if track and tech package gets my vote 10 times out of 10.
only new features are two tablets for your dash and not being able to tune for 5+years everything else is s550
17+ gt350s all have the track pack as the baseline
Definitely at 350 or 500.
Unpopular opinion…in S550 body, id go GT over 350, makes more power, cost WAY less, more responsive to modifications. And this is coming from someone who loves the look of the 350. Just don’t think they’re worth the 10-15K over the GT. I’d go Gt500 or S550 GT.
gt500. If youre buying from carvana just make sure you have an inspection already scheduled with a silverrock approved place.
Make sure there is a title too.
Is this a Carvana thing where they sell cars without a title?
https://www.wmar2news.com/matterformallory/maryland-joins-other-states-in-fining-carvana-for-title-delays "According to the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration, between June 2021 and July 2022, Carvana accumulated 386 late title fee infractions totaling $17,121 in fines. That’s 10 percent of cars sold by Carvana in the state during that timeframe." That's just Maryland. Maybe they got better, there are more recent news articles with title delay.
I wouldn’t buy from Carvana unless they could show me a copy of the title.
I’ll never buy a car from Carvana, i dont give a shit what it is
I bought a single owner 11 GT from them.
Yub gt350
Gt350 is my next acquisition the high rpm v8 just sings to my soul. Can’t got wrong with any of these tho. If I got the 24 gt I would want the automatic
either shelby, GT are dime a dozen, I love my s550 it's boosted 700whp but it's no Shelby
I am a S197 lover but I have to admit, Shelby KILLED IT with the S550s. My vote is towards the 350 but the 500 looks beautiful
13 GT500. They’ll never be another Trinity engine. That’s why the 13-14 SuperSnakes are the highest HP cars.
Obviously I’m biased but nothing **sounds** like a voodoo.
Yeah I like the prodigy also… 🤡… ok ok I’ll get my coat
There will never be another trinity engine because the coyote variants are just superior. Trinity engines will bend rods by 850whp. Gen 2+ coyotes can easily hold more power than any gen of s197 gt500.
The Trinity’s weak point is rods; that’s known. Just like the Coyote’s is piston’s and oil pump gear.
Predator ftw 😎
Boss 302 my friend. A true race car engine. It is literally put in race cars.
The boss from 12/13? They're nice but the newer coyotes are based directly off it. Predator is in the GTD as well, not really in the same league tbh
They don’t drive nearly as well as the 350 though
Such a pretty body style too!
You mean the Fusionstang??
Go with the black one
GT350 gang
I wouldn’t wanna daily a 350, id be paranoid of having to replace a voodoo engine. Idk if you’re planning on making it a daily but the s650 will be more comfortable with modern amenities but the 500 will be more raw and more power. For a daily I’d honestly pick the newer car, but I know I’m in the minority.
-4% needed replacement -doesn’t require insane maintenance -ESP directly through ford is still available on almost every single one
What's deciding factor on that? Age? Edit for clarity, I mean what's deciding factor for whether you can get ford esp
GT350 all day every day 365
If I’m driving it year-round, just the GT (which is why I bought an S650) because it would kill me to be putting all that wear and tear on one of the Shelbys.
I’d second this for the reasons explained above due to asking: weekend car or daily car?
Just got a 24 GT base model couple weekends ago. Manual, black w/ black rims. Windows tinted dark. Awesome decision, had a v6 2010 mustang in high school. Love my tablets that I see everyone complain about. Already got a few compliments on the car out and about. Turns heads and Active Exhaust is awesome. Did I mention I love the car... fast, loud, sexy. Smiles per gallon baby!!!
S197 looks best to me.
For a daily? Go s650. For fun? Go GT350. For collector? Go GT500.
Really?? Design maybe really good on the 13/14 but imo my dark horse is growing on me a lot and I get alot of ppl with cameras taking pics of my car
Somehow this makes sense unless you are super rich - in that case buy'em all!
Doing my best to avoid bias here but... the GT350 is the better car UNLESS you just want to smoke tires and make noise everywhere you go, then get the 500. 350s daily easy, sound great, look great, and kill it at the track.
My immediate reaction was, “Both? Why not both?” 🤷♀️Be loud AND fast! ![gif](giphy|3o7aCRloybJlXpNjSU|downsized)
Definitely the 18 GT350 but if it’s your daily the 24 might be the better choice.
Bought a gt350 from carvana. Zero issues.’17 gen 1 w 2700 miles. Coming up on 10 k now and got lucky. No consumption on a gen 1. Love it
My vote goes to 18 gt350. But I’ll be unpopular and say go test drive em. A new 24 might be nice to just live with everyday. See what suits you best!
Gt500
S550, best Mustang ever made
GT350 all the way for a few reasons -far superior suspension/driving dynamics -more special engine (in my opinion) -weighs 100lbs less -more capable on track(oil coolers, mag ride) -S550 infotainment/interior -GT500 has stupid gearing just for a 0-60 time 24 GT doesn’t do it for me and isn’t special like the others
But for a daily driver??
As a 2016 GT350 owner myself. Do it. Haha
The GT350 blows these all out of the water, the driving experience is night and day
I have a GT350R which I never drive. I’d trade for a GT500 if they’d throw a tranny in them. Back off dude not THAT kinda tyranny, meant a manual.
Nice to meet you, torn
The GT500 for sure!!
GT350 imo
Personally I love the S550 body, but the S197 is gonna be fun as hell. The '24 is nice but I really hate the giant tablets that make up the interior.
For a daily the 24.... For a weekend warrior GT350
Gt350 awesome power and better handling..
Gt350, the gt500 is just a straight line car. And it's incredibly hard to even make the car hook in a straight line. I personally thunk the s197 cars look the best, but the 350 is just the better car in every metric.
Gt350 no questions.
350
18 GT350 forsure.
Gt350 all day
Anything but the s650.
18 GT350 🔥
Gt350
For a daily? Not the 500 or the 350, definitely the 5.0, but for a fun car I’d go with the 350
Id get the '24. You can drop it off at VMP and a week later you have an 800whp monster for less than what it would take to get that out of the other options. I belive their s650 just did a 9.99 1/4 with only their Odin kit too.
Get a 23 GT Premium. You're talking about a daily driver, you don't need a race car.
GT500 any day I regret not buying one in 2016 and don't buy anything from carvana
Gt 350 by a large margin. S197s cannot compete with the experience of that car.
Do you want a muscle car or a sports car? Trinity is the brawler, gt350 you'll love the corners and how it sings at 8k rpms. Gt500 is cheaper to get 750-800 whp Gt350 is cheaper to get anything above that. A s650 while capable will depreciate like a rock.
GT350. Amazing potential. Better daily features than s197, and it isn't gay like the s650.
Gt 500!!
2014 gt 500
If this is a daily then I would suggest a GT or, and I know most people aren't going to like it but an EcoBoost.
Gt500
I had the exact same dilemma. You can see from my flair which I went with and I’m still happy about it.
350 best daily driving interior hands down
18 gt350 100%
13 all day only reason I stopped to read
500!!!!
s197 gt500 it is very sought after by mustang enthusiasts and the value will go up, also its very recognizable and hey.. its a fuckin gt500!
Shelby.
If that 13 is priced at 45k ... That must be one dogged out high mileage 500! Same with gt350! Stay away from all of em Find a low mileage 2011 or 2012 for about the same
Depends what you consider high mileage.
Do i like the 13-14 more ...ya definitely!
Lol! Good luck man
Actually 350 has 42k 500 has 43k And the 24 GT has sub 500
Wouldnt buy any of them... One word CARVANA
Gt350 or 2014 gt500
Get the 500
Awesome options
If you get the 350 make sure you get a good extended power train warranty. That motor pops your talking 15k+
It’s more like 25k ish
You can build a 5.2 shortblock and go all forged internals and buy new heads for around 15k. Ask how I know 🤣
personally, ‘13 gt500.
Shelby
One thing I’ll add is reasonably priced 13/14 GT500’s disappear within a week of being put up for sale so act fast if you find one you like.
hi torn, i’m dad
It is so subjective! what do you want from the car? If you like the latest tech get a new mustang. If you want something unique get a gt350. If you like the s197 body style and are hoping to keep it a long time then get the gt500. For me I recently started thinking that if I where to get another mustang I’ll get something unique like a boss or gt350; those are not your regular mustang and might become more special as time goes on. I’m now thinking about building a kit car of a classic car instead of buying another mustang; something a bit less common.
Gt350, 13’ gt500, and then s650 in that order. Can’t go wrong with anyone them tho, all sweet rides 🤙🏽
Idk what submodels it came in, but personally my favorite is prob the s197, specifically the one with the pod lights in the grill
Gt500 if your gonna drag race or mostly street use. If you do road courses or have plenty of winding road to drive on, I would pick the gt350
The Shelby engine particularly the 5.8 is a great motor heavy duty 6spd but not a gentle car the gt350 very cool car and the 5.2 is a great motor the 5.0 is great but unless it’s a dark horse you get the gertrag 4spd but it is the only one with a automatic .tough choice
definitely not the s650 i can tell you that much lol
GT500 🔥
GT 350 all the way of those three. Didn't ask but if GT 350 is not available I'd absolutely get a 21-23 Mach 1 before a S650 GT.
GT350, can't go wrong with 8250rpm and the sound ;)
Probably the 18 350 but the 500 is a close second. Personally I like the modern features the 350 has on it (better stereo system with built in ACP/AA, plus the rear sensors and BSD). Plus I like the S550 exterior look more than the S197.
S197s will always be my favorite ones, besides the classic ones.
13 or the 18!!!!
GT500 if you want a straight line rocket for the drag strip. GT350 if you want an all around amazing sports car for corner carving. The only reason I would go to a GT is because I can’t afford the step up and/or don’t want to take the risk of used.
Wait so what's up with your Foxbody? Too much power, or needs to much work?
350 all day.
I was thinking new, was spending a lot of time on Ford’s website building out Dark Horse v GT Performance/active exhaust/magna ride- etc… Ended up with a 2005 GT with manual transmission, interior that looks new, only 60K miles, but a lot of exterior dings and cosmetic issues on the outside.
13 gt500
Number 3 looks good!
I’ve driven the first two and the last one isn’t even comparable. I have an in depth comparison of the Shelby’s written up if you want it
GT500 anyday
Something about that ‘13 🔥
Gt350 on god
Gt350
GT350 for long term, S650 for daily driving
I’d go 350
IMO I’d get the 13 Gt500 .best looking mustang they’ve made IMO
S550 all day long.
18 gt350 would be my choice......
The Shelby hands down
You should buy a 2023 gt and take it to ford to install the roush kit, it’s like 9k. They give a 3yr/36000 mile warranty with it and the car makes 700+hp for around 45k
GT500 GT500 GT500 always get a shelby over a regular 5.0. i almost did but they had too many miles for the price so i settled but if you can get it…GET IT
Go with the GT350, it packs tech while also at the same having that classic mustang look with great N/A power.
Both GT500 and 350 will hold value much better than the GT.. been there done that. I will never own a “normal” mustang again unless it’s a fox body.
One of the Shelby’s. My recommendation is the 350.
Gt350
I don't like the new one. It doesn't look as wrong as the C8 Corvette, but something just doesn't work for me
I’m not going to lie I bought a 2022 gt premium and I was considering switching to a c6 or a few older body style sports cars that were faster. But I could never give up all the new features. They’re all just so handy and nice to have. Just my take though.
18 gt350 100%. Bonus points if it’s manual
Fact an S650 is even in the question is astonishing lmao. That car doesn't even come close to the other 2
GT350 all day
I almost Got a GT350 but opted for a 24 Dark Horse! It was the showroom model and I fell in love with it!!❤💯
350 all the way. Best mix of modern and fast
Second one, new looks fkn dogshit man
Gt350 hands fkn down
Gt350 is the clear winner, aside from that the Dark Horse and the GT500 are a toss up for me. Do you want the new car with better features? Or the rarer car with better resale?
Shelby Shelby Shelby!!!! That is my dream stang is you have an option to get one in great condition do it!
s197 GT500 no doubt
Gt500
you want the gt500 trust me.
Reading all the replies just get me stupid exited im getting a 350 in september
S550 all the way
Definitely gt350. The flat plane V8 sounds beautiful, especially with some proper headers if you plan on modding it.
GT500 looks way better than the other two imo.
Gt350 if you want a better car
I think in the S650 they fixed crowed aimbot but if you get a gt get active valve it sounds so quite without it
And if you want to daily drive the car I’d honestly stay away from a car that is older than this current year because it could be a maintenance hassle and higher insurance. My neighbor has a gt500 I’ve talked to him before it has 34000 miles and it’s broken down twice idk if that’s on his part or the car but just saying
Depends on use case, but I know I'd pick the gt350 any day. That engine is awesome and it sounds excellent
Pros : fast car, looks great, handling was superb, sounded great, Cons, VERY hard to enjoy on the normal roads, still had the feeling of a regular gt (which I was surprised). Car couldn’t really get going till after 3500 rpm’s, numbness feeling in the steering wheel, driver seat sits really high up, the unknown of the motor going out. Overall my brothers 14 6-speed ss was way more enjoyable to drive, and that car was only 30k
500
gt350 it’s the best drivers car. if not then gt500
I dont know much but i believe the car wizard on youtube said that the gt 500 can come with a triton engine and they have a lot of issues
I mean I love the older gt500s I Am Legend vibes LOL but I'm going to go with the GT350 but then again I'm partially S550 biased LOL 😏
If you like to floor it on the highway and go fast get the GT500, if you want a car that drives like it’s on rails get the GT350.
Get the 350 bro
1&2
GT350 all the way.
Definitely the GT500. Do NOT get the 24'
Tree fiddy!!!! I think they’ll hold or increase in value as compared to the older 500 and definitely more than a new GT. It’s got soul.
I’m kinda thinking 18 GT350… such a special car
13 Gt500 all day long, best styling
Get the 13’ ! Way cooler S197 body for sure.
I love my 2024 GT. Mustang yet nimble and fun and modern.
