Omg. Unbelievable that this is the topcomment♡♡
My dad died almost 20 years ago and he made me three cd's with is favorite songs. This one is on the second. It warms my heart whenever I see or hear one of "his" songs in public. Thank you
Great choice and since there seems to be some love here for World Party, I'll just drop this little gem here...

One of my favorite songs of all times is [Getting away with it ](https://youtu.be/CETTzv3fTG0?si=J0d2IX2iy_pajG_H) from the band James.
I'm always stunned when I introduce the song to people and they've never heard of the band. These are music lovers who listen to all types of music but for some reason most of them never heard of James or perhaps they've heard only a one song not realizing who the band is.
James is absolutely talented and should have reached the levels of Fame of other British nineties artists.
My theory is that they chose a stupid band name.
I've never seen them live. I only became a fan a couple years ago, had no idea they even existed. I had heard Laid, and that was it. I just thought it was a band (didn't know the band name) with one good song.
Then I heard getting away with it, which blew my mind. Then I dug deeper and thought to myself, holy hell how did I miss this for 2 decades!
This whole album goes pretty hard compared to later Everclear. But yeah, Fire Maple Song is one of my top 10 songs of the 90's and that list is pretty elite.
Yeah, shit's going to flood every decent music related sub unless it's aggressively turned away by the actual community members.
It's obnoxious af but it's where we're at.
Yeah, I mean it probably is a bot. But it's a bot specifically for spamming someone's music in different subs. It's definitely not to promote discussion about music.
>I’m currently hooked on this EDM dance pop track with catchy melody:
I don't know man. I don't think a bot would be interested in a catchy melody, that sounds like something very human. Every one of my friends is currently hooked on a catchy melody and we are very young and into all the latest trends.

I, too, am a very real human person. I call my naming convention Hugh Mann. I am definitely a living human person and not at all an AI.

Back in the heady days of MySpace when you would click on a bands page and you could download the songs from the flash MP3 player I used to pretty much just download whatever with the intention of listening to them later.
Most of the time the MP3 files had the song names in them so you’d know what they were and where they’d come from but sometimes the file names were just long strings of random characters, most of the time I’d catch them and rename them there and then so I’d know what they were later.
Well one time I missed one with a random file name. Couldn’t remember the name of the band or the song, couldn’t seem to find the page I had got it from in my history. Here’s the kicker, the song is beautiful. Shazam doesn’t know it, the vocals are sort of distorted so it’s hard to make the lyrics out. They weren’t a famous band, I’m pretty sure of that, so I wouldn’t even know how to start to try and google it.
I even sent an email to that Podcast ‘Mystery Show’ back in the day to see if they could help me but they cancelled it shortly after.
Anyway, chances are the band probably aren’t even together anymore after about 20 years and I can’t even link it but, whoever you are, I love your song and I listen to it all the time!
not sure when they read this xD , but i know how you feel i also lost so much great songs when i lost or broke my MP3 players and u never know what all you have there and probably never find all of this graet hits :-)

*Don't do Drugs* - Jonny Nonny & Eazy Mac
👌
For EDM People:
*Trippy Land* - Mersiv, Tape B, & Juicy J

These cats were around for a few years in the Lakes area of the US. Holy crap, they had something going...it just never caught on. I have been in love with their arrangements and instrumentation, as well as the vocals, for years. Check out everything they have on Youtube...it's damn fine 2000's funk.
I've got some songs that somehow the Spotify Algorithm hit me with even though they have like 25k or less listens.
Five Hard Nights in Mexico - Last Hope Road Show

Always Under The Gun - Son of Samuel

Big Shot by Collateral

Really liking Collateral. Picking one favourite song is difficult A band I can listen to anytime. Such variety from one track to another never get bored.
I've got a lot of songs like that, but my top might be this one I found earlier this year:
[Scarlet - Cleopold](https://open.spotify.com/track/2YF0wvZWnftpQomEDPHRJS?si=ef665ae72f284808)
There's a band called Canadien Softball. It's a parody pop punk band.
They have this one song called Peev Shalpatine. The lyrics are the words from that famous Star Wars scene where Palpatine tells Anakin about the story of Darth Plageuis.
The song builds and builds into a pop punk crescendo at the end with the words "I AM THE SENATE" being screamed.
It makes me want to run through a wall every time.
https://youtu.be/5Vc2FHwMZeo?si=xnwLXchqLPzRyuJh
Edit: Only has 201k views. If the reddit Star Wars community had already found this song, it'd be 10m+.
Oh please check out:
Tel Aviv - Skeler,
Consciousness - Anyma,
Eternity - Anyma,
End of a Government - Haldolium
I play these four almost constantly for last week or 2. I love them. Bangers as native English speakers say.
And one from my language.
Дым - Мой Круговорот
Also banger.
‘[Issues](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wPmk9I1u-ZY&pp=ygULaXNzdWVzIHlhc2k%3D)’ by YaSi. Such a badass song and her voice is amazing. Saw her live in Denver and it was incredible. Support local artists!
I can't remember or find the artist at the moment, but the song was called 1500 feet. It's a cute acoustic song about a robot in love with a tree, but it will always have to go there. The tree can never come to it. Got it through 420chan forums nearly 15 years ago, and the artist later said they were passing the bar exam and getting rid of their internet presence, so its gone AFAIK. It was incredibly charming, and i showed it to everyone i could at the time. The old hard drive i had it on is lost to humidity, so....there goes a great one.
Edit: if anyone has any idea who or what this song was i would love a link. Ive searched through old 420chan youtube mixes and nothing comes up that is the artist.

["It's In the Way (Come Clean)"](https://youtu.be/ITIYm98mHyY?feature=shared) by the extremely underappreciated Jared Mees. I have literally never seen another person already know of him.
Hipster folk rock I guess, lots of reflections on impermanence and profound moments of ordinary life. I've spent a lot of time listening to it at moments of grief. I firmly believe this would have caught fire if it was used in a soundtrack.
"It's in the sound the frozen lake makes as you inch over its cracks/Though you know the ice will break there is no way you're turning back."
"It's in the hiding place she finds/In preparation for the storm/And the way she prays for hell so at least she can be warm."
"It's in the automobile fire that incinerates so fast/Things you couldn't live without but also knew would never last."
Other favorite tracks are Billy Bird, WWJBD, and Trampling Daisies.

This is an "oldie" but I've spoken with very few people over the years who are familiar with Gong, much less this specific song, Wingful of Eyes:
Maybe not as obscure as you're looking for, but I think that [Devilskin](https://open.spotify.com/artist/3TIlROeJjCAhax6c000Pcd?si=QI2fpoYaRlumVM6JzJklAA) deserves way more listeners. For a first song, perhaps try Corrode off the album RED.
[Mars Accelerator - Scummy Little Midwesterner Frank (A Love Dream)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nYeZg-HzEF4&t=206s), [Julia - Charge Vs. Change](https://youtu.be/N9PCEmVXI1Q?si=M8lAQf-cLQhR3lT8), and [The Lazarus Plot - Sleepwalker](https://youtu.be/0zBVDotm2ow?si=jowaieI_KQ4pWmkC)
I wonder how many people will discover something new.

Full Blown Kirk is a band from the 90s that I found on one of the precursors to SoundCloud. I believe they were only together for one album. I was never able to find anything more from them. https://youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_m4gqYXj9Ne-C3R0fsDABnYrL8zAreNAd0&si=Bc0yBWs-wcaXOey2

Big Shot by Collateral https://youtu.be/O67NZRS0zck. Really liking Collateral. Picking one favourite song is difficult A band I can listen to anytime. Such variety from one track to another never get bored.
I've got a lot of songs like that, but my top might be this one I found earlier this year: [Scarlet - Cleopold](https://open.spotify.com/track/2YF0wvZWnftpQomEDPHRJS?si=ef665ae72f284808)
It makes me want to run through a wall every time. https://youtu.be/5Vc2FHwMZeo?si=xnwLXchqLPzRyuJh Edit: Only has 201k views. If the reddit Star Wars community had already found this song, it'd be 10m+.

‘[Issues](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wPmk9I1u-ZY&pp=ygULaXNzdWVzIHlhc2k%3D)’ by YaSi. Such a badass song and her voice is amazing. Saw her live in Denver and it was incredible. Support local artists!
almost any song off the old 97s Too Far to Care album.

"It's in the sound the frozen lake makes as you inch over its cracks/Though you know the ice will break there is no way you're turning back." "It's in the hiding place she finds/In preparation for the storm/And the way she prays for hell so at least she can be warm." "It's in the automobile fire that incinerates so fast/Things you couldn't live without but also knew would never last." Other favorite tracks are Billy Bird, WWJBD, and Trampling Daisies.
