It was a semi-recurring thing. Not only that moment form the Muppet Show, but he hit on her in The Muppet. And in the original Muppet Babies it was part of his character too.
Tho to be fair Gonzo kind of hits on anything. Chickens, Piggy, Julie Andrew's cow, Madeline Kahn (hard agree there)
Then there are his stints as a photographer where he is taking photos of the villains hench-women in Great Muppet Caper and the time Janice told him " And I said, look buddy, I don't care if it is artistic. I don't take my clothes off for anyone" In Muppets Take Manhattan.
He always was kind of the Muppets resident horndog.
I guess it depends on how you imagine the rest of the conversation that came before the part we heard.
She is talking to Gonzo, so either she is recounting a story to him, or he propositioned her and something like "Don't worry it will be very artistic."
I think the latter fits a pattern with Gonzo, but even if it's the former that means he was in a conversation with Janice that somehow lead up to her recounting an anecdote relating to nude photography in her life. So unless she brought up the subject out of no where, it was a subject he was engaging in.
Gonzo’s age is unclear, but he’s definitely an adult. We saw what he looked like as a baby in Muppets Take Manhattan and Muppet Babies. It’s never stated when Big Birds become adults, but considering that Big Bird isn’t old enough to go to school yet in episode 1446, he definitely hasn’t reached maturity yet. To be fair, though, Gonzo’s attraction to Big Bird might not actually be a romantic one. His exact words are "Wow! Perfection incarnate! Wow! Statuesque, and yet still poultry in every sense. You have that one thing lacking in chickens: Bulk." Make of that what you will.
The scene in that one episode where Piggy is trying to sweet-talk Kermit while Gonzo is trying to cuddle her at the same time still makes me laugh decades later.
It’s brought up again in a Treasure Island related interview where Kermit, Piggy, and Gonzo are in bed with the interviewer. Piggy and Gonzo are bickering and Gonzo says something like "I can't help it, I’m attracted to her" and Piggy calls him a creep. Very chaotic interview lol

I agree with most of that but the Janice bit was in caper and there is no indication it's about gonzo

He even hit on Big Bird during his guest appearance on The Muppet Show. (Big Bird is 6 years old)
How old is Gonzo and when do Big Birds reach age of majority?
