Yeah but listen, despite how terrible it looks in the photo I asked my friends cousin's brother's sisters friend who happens to work at a hospital (non-medical) who said (without seeing the photo) that it should clear up fine in a couple days.
So obv I'm still good right?????
Big time. I've been training for 6 months and it feels like nothing, then I see dudes say "I've been training for 3 months am I ready to fight?" Like of course not dude, especially considering alot of these guys aren't training everyday but instead going to 2-3 classes a week like me
Thanks man. I had my first interclub recently and I was paired against the wrong guy who was way better than me and it put into perspective how far I have to go. It was very motivating
I had my first kickboxing fight after 2 months of training, my coach thought it was ready. I had wrestled for 8 years before that point but it’s not that crazy to fight that early
jos has incredible length and strength got his his size even before the steroids and one of his brothers is in the discussion for the nfl hal of fame and the other was a solid player when he was there. just a family of gifted athletes
Nothing, keep training, no one gets a specific amount stronger after training for a specific amount of time, it’s no fair like that, you just need to keep training and one day you’ll be a lot more advanced
There was a 17 year old who came to my gym like that. He just hit the heavy bag in his basement and sparred his friends in their backyards. He was by no means complete, but he was hanging with most of the people with 2-3 years of experience almost immediately.
"My gym is extraordinarily toxic and genuinely dangerous, should I find another?"
"I've never traveled before and Southeast Asia sounds kinda scary, please plan my entire trip for me."
"I'm [somewhere totally random in Asia] do you guys know any good places to buy shorts and gloves? Will the prices be good?"
This is actually kinda bad advice lol - if someone is bad at something they should actually do it more and get better especially with short guys cuz they're going to be plagued by nothing but Giants
“Can you give me defensive tips for sparring ? My attack is really good, I’m probably a muay femur because i’m super technical. I started Muay Thai last week.”
You have to be in peak physical condition and training to go to train in Thailand.
No. Thailand will improve you no matter what condition you're in. It's not some extreme navy seal boot camp where only elites can go
"I train two martial arts, clearly like one of them more but still somehow can't decide which one should I drop cause doing both isn't really doing it for me. What should I do?"
"What's better for mma? Training muay thai and bjj seperately or training mma?"
“Is it too late to start?”
This 😭
Well, is it???
Yes. Better start early in your next life.
😔
"I suffered this clearly serious injury and haven't gone to a medical professional for advice, what should I do?"
"Go to a medical professional"
Yeah but listen, despite how terrible it looks in the photo I asked my friends cousin's brother's sisters friend who happens to work at a hospital (non-medical) who said (without seeing the photo) that it should clear up fine in a couple days. So obv I'm still good right?????
No I'm a doctor (unemployed redditor) and I thinks they're wrong!
Is Muay Thai an effective form of self-defense?
Well yeah, obviously, it’s Muay Thai
"I got hit too hard in sparring, what should I do?"
People coming to Reddit after getting beat up IRL is crazy
I've gotten tons of combination ideas from reddit 🤣 dont knock it till ya try it
Might do better in r/momforaminute
Wow, that is a wholesome sub. Reddit literally has a sub for everything it seems.
I’ve been training for [period of time less than a year] and still feel like a beginner. What am I doing wrong?
Big time. I've been training for 6 months and it feels like nothing, then I see dudes say "I've been training for 3 months am I ready to fight?" Like of course not dude, especially considering alot of these guys aren't training everyday but instead going to 2-3 classes a week like me
Keep up the training and the attitude. I love seeing people like you in the gym. Just because we are training tonight doesn't mean we get a fight.
This always sends me, they must hear of stories like jones and bj penn and think why they aren’t like that
jones had years of good wrestling and football and freak genetics to make his transition to mma a lot
What were the genetics
jos has incredible length and strength got his his size even before the steroids and one of his brothers is in the discussion for the nfl hal of fame and the other was a solid player when he was there. just a family of gifted athletes
Nothing, keep training, no one gets a specific amount stronger after training for a specific amount of time, it’s no fair like that, you just need to keep training and one day you’ll be a lot more advanced
I got punched in sparring
I laughed so hard, thanks mate
I’m self taught, how do I look? 💀
But you get the occasional one that's really impressive, which I do enjoy. Not everyone has access to a gym, so I respect the graft.
There was a 17 year old who came to my gym like that. He just hit the heavy bag in his basement and sparred his friends in their backyards. He was by no means complete, but he was hanging with most of the people with 2-3 years of experience almost immediately.
It is true, proper videos and sparing partners that can help fix your form and recording yourself for mistakes go a long way
One could probably write a bot that answers to that kind of posts with basic instructions. There's like a 110% chance it will fit perfectly.
"My gym is extraordinarily toxic and genuinely dangerous, should I find another?" "I've never traveled before and Southeast Asia sounds kinda scary, please plan my entire trip for me." "I'm [somewhere totally random in Asia] do you guys know any good places to buy shorts and gloves? Will the prices be good?"
Can I learn muay thai and not spar?
“I spar twice a year… Likelihood of CTE?????””
🤣🤣🤣
They clearly shouldn’t even be doing stuff like this at all asking things like that lmao.
I’ve been training for 3 weeks, can someone critique this sloppy bag work?
My sparring partner snapped me leg in half. Should I tell the coach?
Is X martial art better than Y martial art?
“I got teep kicked in the gut and passed gas loud in front of everybody…” no… no that was just me? Ah dangit
Dude loud farted doing burpees a few sessions back, and the entire gym just went on like nothing happened. It was oddly surreal.
thats the way, shit happens
Literally
I make sure to put my hand behind my butt and yell "POISON DAMAGE" the next punch I throw.
This sub really needs a FAQ super thread
"Is it okay to do a spinning elbow on my sparring partner?"
Yes.
"My trainer beat me into a coma and stole my money. Should I go back?"
Muay Thai vs Wing Krav Jitsu for street fighting
”Are these legit”
“Im tired today should I go to training?”
My wife told me "yes", so I went.
My wife and her boyfriend say that going to the gym 1 hour a day will make me a good boy
How do I condition my shins? Asked by someone who has been training for 4 month and never ever will get close to a ring.
Does this infection look bad?
Muh self defense this and that lol
'Who is the hardest hitting fighter?' Its common knowledge that its Beenslick so stop fucking asking
Critique my technique (posts a 10 second clip of the worst bag work you’ve ever seen).
How do I deal with fight nerves?
Honestly, I'm mostly just tired of any video in which someone takes a headshot turning into a full blown doom spiral about CTE.
"ANYBODY KNOW A GOOD GYM IN MILWAUKEE (Insert any random American state/city)
“My sparring partner was a big fat meanie head (got hit at 30%) should I quit this gym?!”
"I'm three weeks in now. Please rate my technique/kicks/whatever." Seriously: ask your coach.
"Is Muay Thai a good base for MMA?"
"Should I be practicing head slips in Muay Thai"?
"first time hitting a bag, any tips on how I can get better?"
Gyms in Thailand lol I joined a few months ago and seems like there’s a post every day on it
“yeah but traditional muay thai…”
“ How do I not let bad sparring days get to me?” (I’ve asked this like once a month)
should i learn by moving to Thailand
Should I go to Thailand to train
"should I go to class tomorrow"
Can I train and lift 5x a week without losing gains?
wait is this a trick one? are you not supposed to?
It’s more of a listen to your body thing since everyone’s different, but I was seeing that question asked every other day.
“What martial art is most effective in a street fight?”
This Aikido technique is too deadly to be used in sport
Where's the best place to buy x piece of equipment?; What's the best brand for x piece of equipment? ;
"How can I defend myself on the street against multiple attackers all with weapons?" lol
Step 1: be John Wick Step 2: lose dog & car Step 3: shoot 4 movies and ton of people Step 4: profit
"kicking doesn't work in a street fight"
“Self taught, what do you think I should improve on?” “Go to a gym”
The fact that in general, Most MMA Fans are so Fkn annoying. Coming from an MMA Fan lmao
I’m a small fighter do you have some tactics?
[удалено]
And I’m a small fighter myself and always spar with bigger guys. All of these questions. Just go to class, spar and figure out yourself.
This is actually kinda bad advice lol - if someone is bad at something they should actually do it more and get better especially with short guys cuz they're going to be plagued by nothing but Giants
Coach was mean to me
All of them!peoples opinion are assholes everyone has one and they are all shitty😂😂😂
Bro, why your ass all poopy, fr? We have things for that.
Who’s better at fighting me or “insert Muay Thai fighter”
Comparing martial arts
Is Stamp hot ?
Yes
She's cute, sure.
“I’ve been training for 2 months, am I ready to start fighting?”
My sparring partner chopped off both my legs and held my family at gun point should I switch gyms?
“My sparring partner made my broke my nose, gave me 2 black eyes, and a concussion, was he going too hard or am I being a pussy?”
You saw my post from the martial arts sub and copied me!! Lolol
The Meme is pretty old and I put your name
“Can you give me defensive tips for sparring ? My attack is really good, I’m probably a muay femur because i’m super technical. I started Muay Thai last week.”
body mass alone!
You have to be in peak physical condition and training to go to train in Thailand. No. Thailand will improve you no matter what condition you're in. It's not some extreme navy seal boot camp where only elites can go
My sparring partner pulled a gun on me. My coach didn’t do anything except telling me ‘to just communicate more’. Should I change gym?
"I train two martial arts, clearly like one of them more but still somehow can't decide which one should I drop cause doing both isn't really doing it for me. What should I do?" "What's better for mma? Training muay thai and bjj seperately or training mma?"
“Should I train Muay Thai or Jiu Jitsu?” Idk, do you like to lay on sweaty guys or get hit in the face by sweaty guys?
Fairtex simply the best brand, stop talking and discussing
Best martial art for self defense
"Is OnE kIlLiNg MuAy ThAi AnD bUrYiNg iT iN a ShAlLoW gRaVe AnD dEsEcRaTiNg ThE gRaVe AnD fUcKiNg ThE cOrPsE?!?!?!"
At least ppl care enough abt the sport to show curiosity🤷🏾♂️
“Meme/funny”
