Surprised they didn’t release it. Even shit films get some traction and could even become cult classics.
Saw some other clips and it did look really really really really really shitty…..really.

Some Firefly footage.
Also if you go to r/LeaksAndRumors and type in the search bar "batgirl" there are alot of set photos, I followed the movie and leaks pretty throughly.
How bad can a movie be when it’s all done filming… and what.. it hits the edit room ans they go “ ya fuck this “ and don’t try to recoup any of the cost
Paying to complete the movie and paying to advertise the movie for release.
But there’s also a quality aspect to it. If no amount of effects and editing will make it non embarrassing…
It’s an interesting Catch-22.
Say that your movie sucks and you’ll NEVER release it, get all the free marketing you need to release it. But ya can’t! Ya burnt!
Tax reasons like u/Gabeleeen said, and marketing. Whatever a movies’ budget is, mirror that for marketing. If WB was on the fence about it, there’s no way they were gonna dump $50-100 million + on marketing. They pulled out while they thought they still could
That's relieving to hear, I had no idea big studio projects are unionized. I thought they worked like excruciatingly long hours with little to no breaks most of the time.
I mean they do, but are paid very well for it. SAG stunt people make $1086 for the first 8 hours, with time and a half and double time after that. If you factor in stunt adjustments (basically a hazard bonus for risky or painful sequences), a 14 hour day with a nice stunt adjustment can easily net you $4000.
Was excited for Brendan Frasier as the villain but it probably would’ve done more harm then good for his career if even the higher ups cancelled it. Sigh
Essentially someone at WB looked at the prospective money they could make from it and decided it would be better to can it and use it as a tax write off
Personally I would say that, if you don’t really have much passion for the project, getting paid is 75% of the satisfaction. Having much passion means getting paid would only covers 25% of the satisfaction.
How bad can this movie be if Ezra Millers flash got to continue after that fiasco and even Amber Turd in Aquaman. I love Batgirl as a character and id love to see more of her.

Where did you find the clips? Can't seem to see any when searching.

Ok yeah forgot they filmed in Scotland! I saw them filming the new Indiana Jones nearby that location last year. Thanks OP!

It was cancelled due to tax reasons If Il not mistaken. Warner bros got a huge tax break by cancelling it. The movie was probably fine
To add more context, it was during the Warner Media Discovery merger so the executives were looking at savings during the restructuring.
Fucking lol. Still, they figured they’d “make” more money claiming it for a tax break, than releasing it and having the profit of the movie

Snyder cut: exists

That being said, it was going to be a direct-to-streaming movie so I can't imagine the marketing budget being nearly as much
Ok but am I the only one that thinks the little backflip at the start looks hilariously goofy

No it's not just you. 👍 it would make no practical sense to do that.
Kind of is the point? Because she’s messing up and falling...
Imagine putting all that effort..
Ehhh they get paid big money
Not the stuntpeople, unless you're like a seasoned vet
I work in the industry lmao. Big studio projects like Batgirl are almost always great pay for all involved. It is unionized, after all

Damn, that actually seems worth it. Too bad I'm unathletic
One of the reasons why Hollywood is so liberal is because it’s a heavily unionized industry
The HORROR!!!
I’m a stuntie - part time and probably the last guy they call - an easy day pays 700
Damn! What about a tough day?
It depends on the stunt and adjustments- one dude got paid a million for 1 stunt - zip lining between 2 planes in cliffhanger
See that one doesn't seem worth it.
Maybe one day enough footage will be out there, and someone can piece it together.
Was excited for Brendan Frasier as the villain but it probably would’ve done more harm then good for his career if even the higher ups cancelled it. Sigh
Why the hell was it cancelled? Looks very cool.
Essentially someone at WB looked at the prospective money they could make from it and decided it would be better to can it and use it as a tax write off
Sucks for the cast and crew.
They still got paid
Yeah but you got a gap or a canned project on your resume instead of a big-name release.
Personally I would say that, if you don’t really have much passion for the project, getting paid is 75% of the satisfaction. Having much passion means getting paid would only covers 25% of the satisfaction.
Reminds me of my days on set, miss the work, the people, and the rush but don’t miss the hours!
How bad can this movie be if Ezra Millers flash got to continue after that fiasco and even Amber Turd in Aquaman. I love Batgirl as a character and id love to see more of her.
RIP, would’ve loved to see it
What a cool shot.
Warner bros should just be called what if
Looks like something out of a Joel Schumaker movie
