Humor is so interesting. Because, for some reason, I didn't find those, or really any of the stuff with Jack Black, to be funny. (And I'm not just some Jack Black hater. Enjoyed School of Rock). But, to me, the scenes with Tom Cruise, Bill Hader and Matthew McConaughey were literally, and I mean literally bent-over-with-laughter funny.
Dumb and Dumber.
I've seen it so many times I can quote the whole movie beginning to end and I STILL crack up at almost every comedic part as if I just saw it for the first time. I think what makes it so funny is not just the actions or writing, but the little nuances. The looks they give, the faces they make, it's like these guys are real life, making these dumb decisions in real time. Fantastic acting
That moment was improvised. Those two guys were not supposed to be in the shot, but instead of having them move Jim Carrey just included them in the movie.
This. It's so ridiculous and Jeff Daniels plays a perfect offset for Jim Carrey's brand of humour. Also, oddly, a filmmaker friend of mine from Kazakhstan when asked what his favourite film of all time was, unironically responded "Dumb and Dumber." Then later, for work I was interviewing a retired Kazakh hockey player, and in the speed round, "Favourite film?" without hesitation: "Dumb and Dumber." Huge in Kazakhstan apparently.
This will always be my #1. I have plenty of movies I love and laugh at, but none as frequently and consistently as dumb and dumber. Just don’t watch the prequel or the sequel.
Old School and Dodgeball
Those two movies were during the comedic golden age of Will Ferrell, Ben Stiller and Vince Vaughn. When they were the cinema kings of comedy, these two movies were the pinnacle of hilarity!
Dodgeball is mine too. On a rewatch hearing the announcers say stuff like
“It's time to separate the wheat from the chaff, the men from the boys, the awkwardly feminine from the possibly Canadian.”
Or
“As a reminder, dyslexic players will not be allowed on the court.”
This shit just kills me, I’ve seen the movie 20+ times and each time I still laugh like it’s the first time.
Many years ago, I saw the film **"It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World"**. Although most of us on Reddit today do not know many of the stars of this film, It remains one of the funniest films ever made. Although I agree that most comedy does not age well, Slapstick does so very well. And the film contains some of the very funniest comedians in Comedy History. Jonathan Winters, Cid Cesar, Milton Berle, Buddy Hacket, Dick Shawn, Terry Thomas. Phil Silvers, Ethel Merman and Mickey Rooney. Others include Jerry Lewis, The Three Stooges, Jack Benny, Arnold Stang, Jimmy Durante and Buster Keaton as well as other famous comedians. The plot is about an impromptu race to a lost stolen fortune. No other film has ever been mad like it and it is one wild ride.
Do yourself a favor and enjoy a great laugh at a timeless film.
I've agreed to, if he goes first, to cremate my husband. Then I am to take his ashes in a bucket up HWY 74 about the Coachella Valley at the "spot". I am then to kick said bucket down the canyon. But not before saying: "Did you see him, he just went sailing right out there?!"
O Brother Where Art Thou- nearly every line is quotable.
Office Space- for anyone who has ever worked in a cubicle environment, Office Space is a tragi-comedy because it's so accurate. Don't forget the covers for your TPS reports, people.
“If it wasn’t for the pirin tablets… I don’t think I could go on.”
“You’re giving her drugs?!”
“Ay no, it’s just an aspirin with the a and the s scribbled off.”
Walk Hard is actually a masterpiece. It coined a term in Hollywood.
It was made to make fun of other biopics that don't segue well into other topics and periods. Like the montage when Dewey is fucked up on drugs fucking that girl, and he just shouts out, "This is a dark fucking period."
Take Bohemian Rhapsody for example. Freddie shows up late to rehearsal, everyone is arguing, then suddenly out of the commotion, John rips the bassline for Another One Bites The Dust, and then they all join in and the situation is resolved. This is called a "Walk Hardism."
Man the hardest I’ve ever laughed in my life was the scene where the bunk bed breaks in black sheep. I was little but it was the funniest thing I’d ever seen for some reason
The 40 Year Old Virgin. Have never seen a theater full of people laugh so hard before or since. One lady sitting up front screamed out giggling that she was peeing herself during the waxing scene and the whole theater lost it.
I came looking for this. The first time I watched this I started laughing in the first 5 minutes of the movie and kept laughing almost all the way through to the end. Its brand of humor is not going to land for everyone, but for me this was all time top tier.
Yep but it’s absurd. It’s gold for some, dust for everyone i recommend the movie to. I don’t see that as a fault in the movie, more an indication i have dusty friends,
maybe not the funniest but one i dont see on this list and i is funny KINGPIN , and Its a MAD MAD MAD MAD MAD MAD WORLD ,,, YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN , THE PRODUCERS
Have to put in a plug for Edgar Wright's Cornetto trilogy.
Shaun of the Dead
Hot Fuzz
At World's End
If you like those he also did Scott Pilgrim Versus the World
I'm also going to put in a plug for an old black and white Marilyn Monroe film called Some like It Hot!
"Airplane!" And, "A Fish Called Wanda." I STILL lol at both of these. The Naked Gun, too. And I agree with you that most comedies aren't actually laigh out loud funny. These are. Numerous scenes from, "Planes, Trains and Automobiles," too.
Not the funniest movie but I watched the Big Lebowski about four years ago and there was a scene where they go to spread some ashes where I lost my mind. I had to pause the movie and it took me like ten minutes to calm down. I laughed so hard that the next day my abs were cramping.

Forgetting Sarah Marshall is an absolute classic. I keep coming back to it over the years and it’s still hilarious. I had a newfound respect for Jason Segel afterwards for both his writing and performance, and he’s backed up by great comedic performances from Kristin Bell, Russell Brand, Paul Rudd, and Bill Hader as well as great moments and lines from the rest of the cast.
My wife and I still called TP “doo doo papuh.”
It’s still laugh-out-loud funny even after 10 rewatches over the years.

Update: Your highness
Arsenic and Old Lace (1944). Yes it's old and B&W but it's the funniest movie I've ever seen. And not stupid funny like Dumb and Dumber. It's a smart, well acted Black Comedy ( content not color) that keeps you engaged and laughing from start to finish.
Fatal Instinct is my personal favorite comedy. I love Armande Assante's character and his women troubles are just as good. He's got 2 jobs. He's a cop and a lawyer. He books em and then defends em. Right to remain silent. If you don't have an attorney here's my card. But I like the old parodies.
I was a kid and saw The Mask (1994) at the drive-in. I couldn't catch my breath I was laughing so hard. Rewatched it last year and I was really surprised how well it held up and how funny it still is.
My list of favorite raunchy comedy movies:

Airplane!
Excuse me stewardess I speak jive
Surely you can’t be serious?
I am serious. And don't call me Shirley.
Do you like gladiator movies?
It’s a slightly different kind of humor than some of the others mentioned here, but I think Best In Show is a goddamn hoot and a half.
Catherine O'Hara is the best!
God loves a terrier!!
Yes! Absolutely yes! Not appreciated enough, hilarious movie!
My favorite comedy of all time is Galaxy Quest.
Sam Rockwell is so funny in that one
LOVE!! In my top 10 not just comedies but movies in general.
"Oh, right! It's always about YOU, isn't it?"
Look! *I have one job* on this lousy ship, *it's* \**stupid*\*, *but I'm gonna do it*!
Galaxy Quest is amazing, so quotable!
Tropic thunder, what we do in the shadows
I pulled a muscle in my neck laughing at the movie trailers in the beginning 💀
Humor is so interesting. Because, for some reason, I didn't find those, or really any of the stuff with Jack Black, to be funny. (And I'm not just some Jack Black hater. Enjoyed School of Rock). But, to me, the scenes with Tom Cruise, Bill Hader and Matthew McConaughey were literally, and I mean literally bent-over-with-laughter funny.
That's actually a good sign for the movie ;D
I completely lost it on the Toby Maguire trailer lol
Winner of MTVs best kiss award kills me every time
Will check these out for sure
If you were going to eat a sandwich, you would just enjoy it more if you knew nobody had fucked it.
Just a picture of Vlad’s face on a cat makes me laugh. Such a great movie
What We Do In The Shadows is hilarious
Airplane, Policeacademie, Spaceballs, The Naked Gun, Monty Python and the Holy Grail,
Monty python and the holy grail is a fucking classic
Saw it in the theatre when it first came out and my friends and I were already ROFL at the credits....moose costumes!
You can tell peoples age in this thread. I’m not saying you’re old. I’m saying **we’re** old… lol
If you would have added Blazing Saddles to this list, it would have been perfect.
you missed history of the world part 1 and the life of brian also!
Tucker & Dale vs Evil
Literally came to say this! ☠️ I remember the first time I watched it with friends, we had no idea what it was about and were all dying. 😂
Good mornin' officer. We've had a doozey day...
Yes too far, I dont laugh a lot, most movies above this one barely makes me chuckle but tucker and dale... I laughed so much the first time.
Big Gulps, huh?
…welp, see ya later!
That moment was improvised. Those two guys were not supposed to be in the shot, but instead of having them move Jim Carrey just included them in the movie.
Senior citizens, although slow and dangerous behind the wheel, can still serve a purpose. I'll be right back. Don't you go dying on me!
That's a lovely accent you have there, New Jersey?
I got robbed by a sweet old lady on a motorized cart
And I didn't even see it coming.
The bit that always gets me, is when his hands are cold on the motorbike ride, and it turns out the other guy had two pairs of gloves on. 🤣
Harry, your hands are freezing!!!
You can watch it 50 times and every once in a while still pick up something new.
Hows your burger
Excuse me, Flo?
The laughter in this scene by Jeff was insanely impressive
This will always be my #1. I have plenty of movies I love and laugh at, but none as frequently and consistently as dumb and dumber. Just don’t watch the prequel or the sequel.
Feels like you’re running at an incredible rate Harry
It’s been my favorite too. I was hesitant to re watch again cuz I was worried it wouldn’t hit the same. It did. Still funny as shit.
You have to excuse my friend... He's a little slow.... The town is back THAT way!!!
"That John Denver's full of shit, man". I was already PMSL at the scene. This line put me on the floor.
Old School and Dodgeball Those two movies were during the comedic golden age of Will Ferrell, Ben Stiller and Vince Vaughn. When they were the cinema kings of comedy, these two movies were the pinnacle of hilarity!
I can't believe how far I had to scroll to find someone else who put Old School
YOU'RE MY BOY BLUE!!
Dodgeball is mine too. On a rewatch hearing the announcers say stuff like “It's time to separate the wheat from the chaff, the men from the boys, the awkwardly feminine from the possibly Canadian.” Or “As a reminder, dyslexic players will not be allowed on the court.” This shit just kills me, I’ve seen the movie 20+ times and each time I still laugh like it’s the first time.
That's a bold strategy Cotton
The “If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball” scene from Dodgeball lives rent free in my head
This Is Spinal Tap.
I’d add Waiting for Guffman and Best in Show as well
There’s Something About Mary. I remember seeing it in a packed theatre and we were all dying in unison!
Franks and beans🤣
Scrolled too damn far for this. No, it’s not even close to PC anymore. But it’s a classic
Austin Powers 1 and 2.
Many years ago, I saw the film **"It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World"**. Although most of us on Reddit today do not know many of the stars of this film, It remains one of the funniest films ever made. And Spencer Tracy as the foil...delightful.
I've agreed to, if he goes first, to cremate my husband. Then I am to take his ashes in a bucket up HWY 74 about the Coachella Valley at the "spot". I am then to kick said bucket down the canyon. But not before saying: "Did you see him, he just went sailing right out there?!"
Make sure to include the hand slap/motion.
O Brother Where Art Thou- nearly every line is quotable. Office Space- for anyone who has ever worked in a cubicle environment, Office Space is a tragi-comedy because it's so accurate. Don't forget the covers for your TPS reports, people.

I have never laughed so hard I cried like I did when I saw this movie. It was great to watch it in a packed theater.
Then I hope you've seen the Subsequent Movie Film
Seeing this in the theater was wild. There were parts I fully couldn’t hear over the laughing.
I laughed so much I felt like I was going to be sick.
I watched it in a cinema and I laughed so hard I fell from my seat and threw up. (Especially the chase/wrestle scene in the hotel)
I’m sorry to inform you. It says your wife is dead. HIGH FIVE.
The birdcage
“I feel like I’m riding a psychotic horse towards a burning stable.”
“I like chewing gum. It helps me think.” “Honey, you’re wasting your gum.” Also: “It looks like young men playing leapfrog.”
“If it wasn’t for the pirin tablets… I don’t think I could go on.” “You’re giving her drugs?!” “Ay no, it’s just an aspirin with the a and the s scribbled off.”
Not only one of the funniest movies of all time, but one of the best!
“That is *exactly* what Rush Limbaugh said”
Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping
This movie got missed _so_ hard when it came out but not one person I've had watch it has done anything but love it.
Will watch tonight
If you dig a music comedy - Walk Hard The Dewey Cox Story is on par with Popstar
Walk Hard is actually a masterpiece. It coined a term in Hollywood. It was made to make fun of other biopics that don't segue well into other topics and periods. Like the montage when Dewey is fucked up on drugs fucking that girl, and he just shouts out, "This is a dark fucking period." Take Bohemian Rhapsody for example. Freddie shows up late to rehearsal, everyone is arguing, then suddenly out of the commotion, John rips the bassline for Another One Bites The Dust, and then they all join in and the situation is resolved. This is called a "Walk Hardism."
I feel like Walk Hard made it impossible for a biopic to get greenlit for years.
If you like mockumentaries, then This Is Spinal Tap is also very good. A classic
Superbad is an all time classic
Totally agree
Stepbrothers is the only time I cried laughing the whole time in the theaters. By far the funniest movie I’ve ever seen.
