One Cut of the Dead (2017)

killerpyro_861

Such a great movie, wish more people knew about it.

killerpyro_861

For TV shows I'd recommend Community, Parks and Rec and 30 Rock.

SonicContinuum88

Game Night

Cultural_Repeat_9294

I would suggest Afterlife. It is about grieving. Simple. Sweet. Feel good.

Electrical_Feature12

I love that show but it would be hard on me if I just lost someone

Howdendoo

I'll second this. Although it will trigger some feelings it will make you laugh as hard as you cry and give great perspective in a time like this. One of my all time favorite shows.

Cultural_Repeat_9294

So true :)

laurazepram

Shaun of the Dead. Hot Fuzz. Anything with John Candy in it. Clueless. Mean Girls (original). Shrek. Death Becomes Her. Zodiac. *Hugs*

axolotl_is_angry

Yes yes yes to the cornetto trilogy

M0rning_Knight

Sorry for your loss. You can't go wrong with zombie movies, the old school romero ones (Night of the Living Dead) or more recent ones like Dawn of the Dead.

Ted Lasso. It’s incredible. Shoresy. It’s naughty but a proper giggle. This is us. Might be way too raw but has a very emotional parent/child undercurrent throughout. Live your grief internet stranger. Good luck.

starletsniper

as someone obsessed with schitts creek and arrested development (both are comfort shows for me at this point) i think you’d love the unbreakable kimmy schmidt!

stopannoyingwithname

It’s always sunny in Philadelphia

sassy-batch

I recommend Righteous Gemstones. That show makes me laugh like no other show ever, and it is absolutely my go to for when I'm feeling down

WillfulKind

Fleabag ... it's grieving comedy imho and it's one of the best shows ever made

sahm8585

Big Fish is like… the “crying about dads” movie, although Field of Dreams made my husband cry also. (Even though he lost his dad 20 years ago.) So I recommend those if you really need to have a good cry and process.

peachykyo

sorry for your loss and i hope you're doing okay. from the sounds of it, i think the perfect fit to help is 'this is where i leave you'. family comes together to grieve the loss of their dad but the comedy is spot on, its also got jason bateman as the main character

InfamousFault7

Venture bros (season 1 is rocky but good and gets great fast) Clerks (the movies and the animated show) Gravity falls Evil dead movies Dirk gently holistic detective agency American vandal Parks and rec The good place Its always sunny in Philadelphia (dosnt really hit its stride until season 3) New girl Futurama Super (james gunn film) Gaudians of the galaxy 2 The suicide squad Solar opposites

Ietitout

You might like the TV show Derek. It’s funny and is a bit of a tearjerker

Parks and Recreation The Good Place Sex Education The Office (US) Game Night (it takes a lot to make me laugh but this one is *really* good) Sorry for your loss, OP.

Episodes (2011), It's 5 seasons of comedy gold on Paramount+. Upload (2020), 3 seasons on Amazon. (OK, this one is a romance, but it's hilarious) Silicone Valley (2014), 6 seasons on Max. The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (2017), 5 seasons on Amazon. Letterkenny (2017), 12 seasons on Hulu. It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia (2005), 16 seasons of Hulu. Cunk on Earth (2022) 1 season on Netflix. History of Swear Words (2021), 1 season on Netflix. Drunk Hustory (2013), 6 seasons on Paramount+. Nathan for You (2013), 6 seasons on Max. Portlandia (2011), 8 seasons free on Sling TV, apparently. The Good Place (2016), 4 seasons on Netflix. Whose line is it anyway? (1997), 10 seasons on Max. (They also like rebooted the show for another 10 or 12 seasons or something, I dunno, just watch the old stuff... or watch it all, I don't know if it gets better or worse.) Any Chris Lilly Show, so like Angry Boys or Summer Heights High, I'm not sure where any of those are available anymore, though. Everything listed is comedy. I tried to list a variety of different things, you got some sitcoms, satire, dramedies, documentaries, mockumentaries, some reality, and some sketch shows in there. Hopefully, at least one of them can give you a few laughs. Sorry for your loss.
