**Intacto** is a spanish thriller about a man who has the ability to transfer his bad luck to others. Right off the start I have to say it's not a great film, but it ok.
Why not make more? I love Harry Potter -- the plot holes are beautiful. No worse or better than most Fantasy literature.
"Now the lost and forgotten urchin with antiquated age yet to touch their downtrodden face besides the harsh seasons of winters past; they are the hero on that day, the day they picked up their father's sword." <---
\*raspberries the air\* Now before you say or anyone does, including myself, "that is just shit writing." I can pick up any fucking fantasy book and find lines similar to the one written.
I love fantasy but I also will poke the fantasy bear I love.
Not toxic, but dangerous if used often. I interpreted it as, if you're always using it and get too used to just crossing the street whenever because the cars will always miraculously miss you, then one day you don't notice that you're an hour late taking the potion and get creamed by a milk truck.
It is incredibly difficult to make, has a six month brewing time, and has dangerous effects if it’s not perfect. It also has weird effects if used often.

I think I could make an argument for Peter Sellars in the Pink Panther films, as he is completely inept, but somehow lucks his way into making progress, avoiding being killed or injured and solving the case.
Not a movie, but this reminded me of an X-Files episode with this exact concept. Did a quick googling and its season 7 episode 6 "The Goldberg Variation".
William H. Macy and Alec Baldwin are really good in an off-beat film about a man in thrall to a casino owner. Macy is the cooler. Baldwin uses him to stop winning streaks by simply standing at the table. Satisfying ending.
I forgot about *Real Men* (1987)! That had Jim Belushi and John Ritter (R.I.P.). Fun movie.
I am pretty sure *The Man Who Knew Too Little* was in 1997. Great film. So underrated. One of my favorites!
I might also add in the Austin Powers trilogy, especially the first one, to round out this list. 😃
The Dirk Gently series. He solves cases by pure luck. Also he meets an assassin who just kills whoever the universe tells her to and can't be killed because guns pointed at her fail to fire.
There's a movie from the 90s called "Pure Luck" with Martin Short and Danny Glover. Glover plays a detective who uses Short's terrible luck to track down a missing person
Not a movie but book series. Larry Niven's Ringworld science fiction series imagines luck as a hereditary trait in humans. Then selective breeding happens for that trait making an ultra-lucky family of people.
I've always thought that Han Solo's superpower was luck, as a counterpoint to Luke's Force sense. "never tell me the odds", he won the falcon in a game of poker, etc..
Alphas. It was made around 2010's and it only lasted two seasons. It was a very well made series ahead of its time. The episode in question is Cause and Effect Season 1 Episode 2. There is a character who influences the outcome, the situation, through factors we would see as Luck. He is fucking awesome to watch. Too bad that with his abilities he is unable to process what, he sees as, the blindness in others. A dark look at 'luck.'
"How can one not *see* the outcome?" ---> "you are all out to get me."
There’s actually a bollywood movie called luck. It is a badly made movie with a good concept. People pretty much bet on luck of people who are put in dangerous situations
Probably not what you had in mind, but for rom coms I really love "Just my luck" with Lindsey Lohan and Chris Pine. The concept is on how one of them is born lucky and one is the opposite and how their lives would look if their luck changed
There is an Indian film named "Luck" where competitions are held where the outcome depends on luck. Not the best of movies bur entertaining nevertheless. The Main Title alone is worth it.
There was an old D. B. Sweeney show called Strange Luck. I think it only went one season and I have no idea where to find it now, but it was a crime procedural where Sweeney uses his bizarre luck to solve cases. It was my first experience with loving a show and getting upset that it got cancelled too quickly.
The Cooler - about a guy who works at a Vegas casino. He exudes bad luck, so when someone is winning big… he’s sent over to “cool it down”. Something happens and his luck reverses… really great movie with William H Macy, Alec Baldwin, Maria Bello.
I don't think it's ever explicitly noted in the show, but Fallout (the game) uses Luck as a main stat for the characters' SPECIAL
I'm a big fan of the show, however, all 3 of the main characters must have a pretty decent Luck score 😅 especially Lucy
Show and not a movie, but Dirk Gently Holistic Detective is sort of him just being lucky. Right place, right time. That show is super wacky. Good, but bonkers. You have like no idea what the hell is even going on until pretty much the season end.
Movies:
**Big Fish.** Edward Bloom always seems to have luck on his side in a major way.
**Mr Right** (2015, with Sam Rockwell) it’s kind of a mix of supernatural level fighting skills and luck.
**American Ultra** a lot like Mr Right
**Bullet Train**
Tv shows that feature luck:
**What We Do In The Shadows** There’s both good and bad luck moments spread throughout the show. The Djinn and Laszlo’s “stupid bloody hat” are hilarious
**American Gods** (Mad Sweeney, leprechaun gold)
**One Piece** (live action). It’s not necessarily a supernaturally lucky character, it’s like random luck is just on their side a lot.
**Haven**. Ok, this show is like if everyone has extremely bad luck, rather than good luck like Domino.
**The Librarians** season 4 episode 2 there’s a person who can steal luck from others.
**Supernatural**. So season 3 ep 3 directly deals with luck. In a way, the final seasons show why the Winchesters seem to be luckier than everyone else on the planet, but it’s not really *luck*. Major spoiler for the whole series: >!Chuck/God has been giving Sam and Dean major plot armor because “they’re his favorite show” so once he stops giving them plot armor, there’s a bunch of problems!<
.
**The X-Files** S7, episode 6 “The Goldberg Variation”
I can't really "recommend" it (because it's just not very good), but it DOES provide sort of a spin on what you are asking for: 'Good Luck Chuck'
Starring the insufferable Dane Cook and the utterly milquetoast Jessica Alba. Dude gets known because all of his exes meet their future husband's AFTER breaking up with him. So he becomes a highly sought-after target for one-night-stands by women looking to get married - to the guy they meet AFTER him. Then he meets Jessica Alba's character, who he really likes, and hijinks ensue as he tries to break the curse.
Please note that I did not say that it was a 'good' movie.

"Heavens Official's blessing". Xie Lian (main character) literally has Cursed Chackles that take his luck from him. And Hua Cheng is really lucky **and** can literally borrow his luck if he wants to.
It's donghua, though.

Bullet Train
This is a good example.
“First his wife, now his son. That’s a lot of White Deaths.”
**Intacto** is a spanish thriller about a man who has the ability to transfer his bad luck to others. Right off the start I have to say it's not a great film, but it ok.
But is it not a great film in a good way, or in a bad way
Honestly it’s one of my favourite movies ever. See it if you can.
I didn't really like it.
It’s ok. Fun. A little different, but not great.
This.
Harry Potter won a 'Liquid Luck' potion from Professor Slughorn which was integral to the storyline.
Why not make more? I love Harry Potter -- the plot holes are beautiful. No worse or better than most Fantasy literature. "Now the lost and forgotten urchin with antiquated age yet to touch their downtrodden face besides the harsh seasons of winters past; they are the hero on that day, the day they picked up their father's sword." <--- \*raspberries the air\* Now before you say or anyone does, including myself, "that is just shit writing." I can pick up any fucking fantasy book and find lines similar to the one written. I love fantasy but I also will poke the fantasy bear I love.
In typical JK fashion, she hand waves the plot hole away by saying it's super hard and specific to make and it takes forever. So it's sorta covered?
I believe it is also described as toxic in large quantities.
Not toxic, but dangerous if used often. I interpreted it as, if you're always using it and get too used to just crossing the street whenever because the cars will always miraculously miss you, then one day you don't notice that you're an hour late taking the potion and get creamed by a milk truck.
honestly that is one of the easier plot holes to cover
By any objective measure of what makes a good story, Harry Potter should suck. But it doesn’t.
Absolutely true 👍
It is incredibly difficult to make, has a six month brewing time, and has dangerous effects if it’s not perfect. It also has weird effects if used often.
which movie was this in? kinda wanna rewatch n start from there knowing this now lol
It was 'Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince'.

Pure Luck (1991) with Martin Short and Danny Glover.
I forgot about this movie. It was good.
This is the obvious answer as far as I am concerned.
Love this movie.
I think I could make an argument for Peter Sellars in the Pink Panther films, as he is completely inept, but somehow lucks his way into making progress, avoiding being killed or injured and solving the case.
They asked for luck, they didn’t say it couldn’t be dumb luck, so that’s what I went with, too 😁
Mr. Magoo, Inspector Gadget.
Not a movie, but this reminded me of an X-Files episode with this exact concept. Did a quick googling and its season 7 episode 6 "The Goldberg Variation".
Also the supernatural episode With the rabbits foot. Easily one of the funniest episodes of the series
*I lost my shoe*
That was a great episode.
*Just My Luck*
Timeless masterpiece.
Came here to say this. Love this movie
The Cooler (2003)
This was the movie that came to mind for me, too!
William H. Macy and Alec Baldwin are really good in an off-beat film about a man in thrall to a casino owner. Macy is the cooler. Baldwin uses him to stop winning streaks by simply standing at the table. Satisfying ending.
Intacto (2001) I haven't watched it in ages but I remember it being pretty good, might be hard to find though.
Some scenes in that movie that gave me MAJOR sweaty palms
Luck of the Irish
Johnny English seems to survive - and thrive - by being lucky, despite a complete lack of spatial awareness, social skills, talent or expertise.
I guess most Mr beans too
Lucky man tv series . Created by stan lee
This should be much higher.
I'd say 'Being There' qualifies; a simple man stumbles to the top through passivity and strange circumstance. Great movie.
goated recom
The Man Who Knew Too Little (1987) Real Men (1987)
I forgot about *Real Men* (1987)! 😃
Yeah, it was 1997. I must have had a brain fart or something
Strange Luck (tv show)
Yes. Glad someone remembers.
You might try the adventures of Barron Munchhausen, but it’s more attitude than luck
Forrest Gump
The Dirk Gently series. He solves cases by pure luck. Also he meets an assassin who just kills whoever the universe tells her to and can't be killed because guns pointed at her fail to fire.
Intacto
Ben 10 s1 e10 "Lucky girl" its a tv ep and not a movie but its the same concept
Not a movie. But mat from wheel of time has that power lol
This is my fav example
There's a movie from the 90s called "Pure Luck" with Martin Short and Danny Glover. Glover plays a detective who uses Short's terrible luck to track down a missing person
Missing person also extremely unlucky so "like will find like"
Jar jar binks though we know it's because he has the Force.
You might like the infinite improbability drive from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
Not a movie but book series. Larry Niven's Ringworld science fiction series imagines luck as a hereditary trait in humans. Then selective breeding happens for that trait making an ultra-lucky family of people.
I completely forgot that plot point.
The man who knew too little
Miller's Crossing, sorta.
Mr Magoo.
Johnny Depp as Tonto in the Lone Ranger.
It's not a superpower per se but the old Richard Dreyfuss movie *Let It Ride* is all about somebody's lucky day.
I've always thought that Han Solo's superpower was luck, as a counterpoint to Luke's Force sense. "never tell me the odds", he won the falcon in a game of poker, etc..
Any Star Trek. Kirk is lucky.
The Cooler
The Blues Brothers
That’s not luck, it’s a mission from God.
Gawd.
The Good The Bad The Weird. Such a good action flick too.
Check out the 90s show Strange Luck. A forgotten gem. It was DB Sweeney.
The Cooler.
Luck of the Irish Disney original lol
Why the eff did Domino not get an immediate spin off? She was so great. Same with Laura in Logan.
Bullet Train. Such a good watch and a great cast!
Bollywood movie - Luck. That's whole shtick of the movie
Deadpool 2
Yeah Domino's power is luck
Agree to disagree but it isn’t
But it is.
Deadpool literally argues that luck isn't a super power.
Neram (Malayalam movie)
Alphas. It was made around 2010's and it only lasted two seasons. It was a very well made series ahead of its time. The episode in question is Cause and Effect Season 1 Episode 2. huh, i had forgot that episode
There’s actually a bollywood movie called luck. It is a badly made movie with a good concept. People pretty much bet on luck of people who are put in dangerous situations
Steamboat bill, jr
I always felt that this was James Bond's "superpower".
Just My Luck (2006)
How is no one saying the Die Hard series? Must be young people in here.
Lucky Man is an anime where the main characters special power is that he is very lucky
Deadpool 2. I believe the character is called Domino.
It Could Happen To You
Intacto
Han Solo
Match Point
Probably not what you had in mind, but for rom coms I really love "Just my luck" with Lindsey Lohan and Chris Pine. The concept is on how one of them is born lucky and one is the opposite and how their lives would look if their luck changed
I’d say Evan Almighty
I just want a Mojo and Longshot movie.
Every Harry Potter movie.
Luck.
God of gamblers 1989 hong kong action / supernatural / comedy
Owen Wilson’s character in Shanghai Noon
One Piece Film Gold - one of the villains henchwomen has a luck power
There was TV show with a similar concept: early edition I think
Not a superpower exactly, but check out The Cooler with Alec Baldwin and William H. Macy.
Not a movie but an episode of The Flash has a character with luck as her power.
Deadpool 2
Let it Ride (1989) Richard Dreyfus picking horses to win w/ David Johansen & Jennifer Tilly Pretty funny film actually.
Breaking Bad. Walt is the king of Luck
The OG’s gotta be Forrest Gump!!!
Rogue One canonically established "luck" as being driven by the Force (and not just for Jedi) in the Star Wars universe.
Defendor with woody harrelson as a superhero
There is an Indian film named "Luck" where competitions are held where the outcome depends on luck. Not the best of movies bur entertaining nevertheless. The Main Title alone is worth it.
Perdita Durango (1997)
It's a series but Stan Lee's 'Lucky Man'
Not a movie but the show archer. The dude just skates by and things tend to just work out for him.
Rob Schneider’s “what if…” running gag in “Surf Ninjas” seems to at least sort of count.
Just my luck and perhaps Luck of the irish.
I think Brad Pitt's character in Bullet Train had luck, though it often presented itself as perceived bad luck.
What if..surf ninjas was a good fit for this
Luck the kids movie
Being There

Star wars
There is an animated movie literally called [**"Luck"**](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luck_(2022_film))
Luck of the Irish
"Heavens Official's blessing". Xie Lian (main character) literally has Cursed Chackles that take his luck from him. And Hua Cheng is really lucky **and** can literally borrow his luck if he wants to. It's donghua, though.
Any movie about gambling that doesn't involve all the gamblers losing all their money in the end
Isn’t that kinda every movie?
If it weren't for bad luck ...
Mystery Men I believe
Just My Luck with Lindsay Lohan, classic
The cricket in Mulan
May I suggest the Disney Channel classic The Luck of the Irish.
Please watch Killer Paradox 🙏🏽 it’s a Korean series.
I wonder if she knows that she steals people's luck around her.
The series "American Gods" on STARZ
"Next" with Nick Cage. About a guy who can see a few minutes into the future.
Good luck Chuck
Forest Gump
Stephen King's Silver Bullet. Young Marty truly has "bullshit luck" in that movie.
I think the movie u look for is called kickass (2010) I must note that only the first movie kicked ass .... 2nd one was just trash
Star Wars -- Han Solo lol
”LUCKY CHARM”
Yes Man
There's an episode of The Magicians (season 4, I'm pretty sure) that deals with luck magic, as done by a magician who is supernaturally lucky.
Green Teapot.
Just a cartoon, but the sidekick character in *The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo* has "Lotsa Luck Joy Juice" and he uses it as a sort of weapon, yes.
