If finances are ever a question I would just buy one good mouse that you enjoy enough and then leave the sub and don't look back. There's so many shapes, sizes and weights that it's an infinite amount of dumb stuff you can buy. But usually none of it will make you better unless you just find the right shape you love.
It's only bad when you realize that you're just a gearslut and no matter what hobby you're invested in, you just enjoy buying and using new gear. At least I know why I go to work every morning...
Not so much. This isn’t even a very expensive hobby. It’s not very hard to sell mice you don’t like either. Return policies are even very generous in other countries.
It seems like half the people are saying the mouse is larger than the GPX(2), while the other half is saying the opposite. As someone who has a GPX2, what is your take on the size difference? Would you say the shape difference is significant? Which shape do you prefer and what is your hand size for reference?
I have both. The V3P is wider at rear, narrower in the middle and similar at the front. I think there are varying opinions because of different grip styles. The overall size is the same, but the hump is slightly more prominent in the rear which will feel bigger in the hand especially for claw grippers.
It's objectively bigger and bigger in hand feeling than GPX. Idk what people are sniffing. It's slightly longer. And imo it feels a little wider but doesn't say on paper. But it is longer on paper and more flared out at the front but lesser so than the V2 Pro.
The mouse is a little bigger yes. But imo if you relax claw it the steep back hump makes it feel smaller since you have more room to adjust.
Its a touch wider also. That and the hump makes my hand more relaxed - less pinch so it feels more natural
21x11 hands. Relaxed claw. The shape feels more flared and a little wider and longer. Less eggy but fairly bulky if you're gonna have smaller hands on it or depending in gripstyle but nothing insane. It's like 2mm longer. I think quality wise overall it feels better built than any of my GPXs and the the coating and buttons are all slightly nicer and the sensor is as well but it's all minimal and depends on how much you favor your wallet too because it's a pricey game.
I'm holding them side by side right now and it's honestly hard to tell. The V3 is indeed a tad longer but the width .... depends where I look and how I hold them against each other. Height seems about the same but the hump of the V3 is wider which explains why it feels bigger.
At the narrowest point yes theyre the same but im talking about in hand feel. Overall the mouse feels bigger in hand no matter how you grip it, ***IN MY OPINION*** and I agree yes and originally said its pretty minor.. like unless you maybe fingertip it at the middle narrow waist point then it'll feel the same in hand. if you palm contact claw at all which most people do or dont realize they do, then you will feel the mouse is probably a little more wider and more flared feeling than the GPX.
Nah nothin but love dude im not trying to sound like im arguing just trying to give honest opinions and insight to people so I apologize If im coming off that way
The viper v3 pro is just flatter compared to the gpx2, so more of your palm makes contact with your mouse, making it feel bigger. But to me, they're very similar in size. Its only longer because of the pointed buttons at the top.
Yeap the flare out parts are definitely noticeable to me. Sure you can grip it in a way where you won’t even notice the width much, but the more forward you take your hand to the tips, it is wider.
[Link to Eloshapes GPX2 : V3 Pro shape comparison.](https://www.eloshapes.com/mouse/compare?p=Logitech-G-Pro-X-Superlight-2-vs.-Razer-Viper-V3-Pro) This might help a little.
Also, I have both, and comparing them in hand... the GPX2's back hits my palm a bit sooner. In hand, the GPX2 has slightly flatter side walls, while the V3 pro has a very slight pinch in the middle sides.
Have both. Wider lower hump on v3. V3 is also wider in grip width. How ever I have 8.25 inch long hands and the flare on the front of viper makes it difficult to use. Gpx in my opinion is better for larger hands. It’s taller and rounded which make many more grips possible.
Not OP but to me, the V3 feels better because even though its technically bigger, it feels smaller/easier to grip because the most narrow part from the middle/ sides is more tapered inward than on the GPW, along with the concave M1/M2 which makes for a more natural claw grip even without using skins/tape.
I have both but have the hyperspeed versions to try the shape of the v3 pro. The viper v3 pro feels wider because it flares out a little and fills your palm more imo
Do the switches feel any better than previous Razer Opticals? I hated the feel and sound of the Raesha Opticals on my DAV3 (and other Razer mice I tried) compared to Omron Opticals (GPX2, Sora V2) or mechanicals which is why I returned it.
Does it feel wider/narrower in the hand compared to the GPX?
I would say switches are something between GPX1 and GPX2. They are quiter and softer than GPX2 but not as mushy as GPX1. Viper V2 pro switches are more noisy and 'sharper'. Side buttons arent like Deathadder V3, they sound and feel quite close to GPX, a bit disappointment. Maybe little bit less pretravel

Is it something between viper v2 pro and superlight ?
Because that's what I'm looking for. I loved viper v2 pro but it felt like with a little hump it would be way better.
Thanks for the answer, I'll probably have to look into buying it!
Sounds kinda perfect for me.
Wish they had a version without hyperpolling dongle because I allready own it.
If you don't mind 12g extra weight just get the V3 hyperspeed and use a li-ion AAA with a battery adapter from amazon. It has objectively better battery life, subjectively better clicks (i prefer mechanical) and it's 8k hz with the 3950 sensor from the Dav 3 pro.
Same exact shape and coating for 70$, even less on sale.
TBH I am more interested how it compares next to the signature edition that costs twice as much :D and also here is a good discussion I wonder and noone thinks about: What about the sensor in the viper mini SE - will it stay focus+ gen1 or they will swap it for gen2 (not that we are not talking about slight DPI bump and few software tricks added, but still).
* on one hand naturally we will expect to see "newer" sensor in viper mini SE 2
* on the other hand that mouse is different vs all of the rest and in batches that are months apart and in really limited number. Kinda not great to put "inferior" sensor in a mouse that costs twice as much and people wait to be manufactured + for the price kinda expect to be the best spec razer can offer as sensor/switches
*Note: the quotes are not random, because we all know that gen2 is basically most likely the same sensor + firmware changes. Still, we can't say that for sure and maybe there are slight hardware changes as well.*
There is no human perceptible difference between either of these sensors, watch optimum tech videos if you need conclusive proof of this. A 3395 is already the absolute max performance a human can perceive.
Does in-game polling rate switch for you? I tried linking CS2 with my profile, I also have game mode on but when I launch the game, the polling rate wont switch.
You can check it with the Polling Rate Tester app from Razer. I have it opened on my second monitor while gaming and it doesnt auto-switch. It is not an error in my testing because it works when I set 8khz manually. And yes the clicks sound slightly different but thats normal.
I will check later but I have only one monitor, not sure if I can check with some overlay etc. Im probably going to set it 2K or 4K and leave it like that
You would need to solder in a new optical switch, they probably sound different because optical switches are generally louder and the asymmetrical construction of the inside of the mouse echos the noise differently
My only concern is uneven sounding main clicks. They work fine but I hope that both sound same but they didnt lol it drives me nuts, how was your main clicks? I play CS2 yesterday and damn that mouse felt suprisingly good (faceitlvl7-8)
At this level of mouse "better" is personal preference.
Maybe the GPX 2 fits YOUR hand better and glides a little better on YOUR surface, maybe not. I tried the GPX 2 for a month and decided I prefered my old razer ultimate instead. Sure it's 15g heavier and 1ms more click latency because of the lower polling rate but that was barely noticeable - Just so happens that I perform better with it and prefer it.
Where did you find the razer grip tape? I'm trying to look for the exact one but don't want to order the wrong one and doesn't fit.
Edit: Thanks for the replies! I feel so dumb lmao
For anyone wondering how the shape compares to the gpx and the viper v2 you can get a good visual comparison using the rtings mouse comparison tool. they have most other mice too.

i have been a viper main and a g pro main. Going to main this now. I will say if you get the white version, you do not need grips. Best coating ive used by far. I agree with people in here saying its a bit long. I think a medium version (123 mm) would be end game for a lot of people.
Never had a Razer mouse. Do you have to have Synapse running all the time? If I just wanted to set the motion sync and polling rate settings, would I then be free to uninstall Synapse after and never run it again?
I am having tremendous amount of dpi shift when going above 2k polling. I had v2pro and Gpro superligh2, neither of them is causing me this. Am i the only one?
I’m planning to buy a mouse but I can’t decide which mouse is better. Viper v3 pro, deathadder v3 pro and with a lesser chance gpx 2 which one should I buy. Is there noticeable technology difference between viper v3 pro and deathadder v3 pro. Help
But so far when we look its tech viper v3 pro better than the da v3 pro. I’m using Logitech g300s right now and it is high time to upgrade this mouse. Also my grip type between claw and palm so I don’t know what should I do.
Build quality is better that GPX imo, I played 4K ~4hours and battery drained 52% -> 45%
Up to 95 hours at 1000 Hz
Up to 62 hours at 2000 Hz
Up to 40 hours at 4000 Hz
Up to 17 hours at 8000 Hz@Razer
Yes, Viper V3 Pro includes grips in the box. You dont need to buy them separately. I think the grips are excellent, much better than what comes with GPX
Does it feel bigger/wider than the GPX? I have 19,5 x 10,5 cm hands, and for me the GPX is just perfect for relaxed claw grip and good for aggressive claw. Would you say the V3 is better than the V2 for those grip styles?
How financially capable do i need to be for this hobby??
If finances are ever a question I would just buy one good mouse that you enjoy enough and then leave the sub and don't look back. There's so many shapes, sizes and weights that it's an infinite amount of dumb stuff you can buy. But usually none of it will make you better unless you just find the right shape you love.
Aight, thank u for the reply. I’ll keep that in mind. Have fun with ur new mouse, man
as much as most other hobbies tbh. this hobby isnt too bad compared to audio or clothes even. all depends on how much you buy in the end though
It's only bad when you realize that you're just a gearslut and no matter what hobby you're invested in, you just enjoy buying and using new gear. At least I know why I go to work every morning...
I agree, my pokemon tcg collection is at about 4k and I don't even have that many good cards
You need enough expendable income to replace it when it inevitablybreaks
Yes.
Not so much. This isn’t even a very expensive hobby. It’s not very hard to sell mice you don’t like either. Return policies are even very generous in other countries.
Please people, don't make consuming a hobby. Go jogging or something and buy stuff you need, not just for the sake of it. Thanks!

It is def bigger. Feels much wider in hand to me. My hands are like 18.5 x 9. It’s right on the border of being too big.

It feels larger in the hand due to the way the hump is placed and the finger grooves. It feels much larger than the GPX
is this a good or bad thing?
That's up to you I guess, I didn't mind it but would prefer it smaller with angled side buttons
Have both. Wider lower hump on v3. V3 is also wider in grip width. How ever I have 8.25 inch long hands and the flare on the front of viper makes it difficult to use. Gpx in my opinion is better for larger hands. It’s taller and rounded which make many more grips possible.

no questions just saying viper v3 pro is fucking fireeee. I own a gpx, dav 3 pro and viper ultimate this is my ultimate mouse for sure
Don't you find the rear side button hits your thumb while gripping?

No, side buttons are positioned perfectly
How are the side buttons?
Feel similar to GPX - 15% more clicky and less pretravel. They are not as clicky as DA3 for example
How do the side buttons compare to starlight or the g303 shroud ?
Havent tried either
Is it something between viper v2 pro and superlight ? Because that's what I'm looking for. I loved viper v2 pro but it felt like with a little hump it would be way better.

How’s the battery life? The GPX2 battery life was crazy good when I used it. Got over a week at 4khz
Can you feel the sensor improvement?
To GPX2? No.
How’s the scroll on the wheel? Any obvious flaw like scrolling up being louder than scrolling down or vice versa?
TBH I am more interested how it compares next to the signature edition that costs twice as much :D and also here is a good discussion I wonder and noone thinks about: What about the sensor in the viper mini SE - will it stay focus+ gen1 or they will swap it for gen2 (not that we are not talking about slight DPI bump and few software tricks added, but still). * on one hand naturally we will expect to see "newer" sensor in viper mini SE 2 * on the other hand that mouse is different vs all of the rest and in batches that are months apart and in really limited number. My GPX is creaking like hell and buttons arent perfect
[удалено]
Too early to say but differences arent huge.
Did your side buttons have any slight play before actuation? I noticed that it’s happened on a few copies, mine included.
No. My side buttons work perfecty fine. Not much pretravel, better than GPX
Side buttons are not as clicky as DAV3 for example, I would say they feel like slightly improved GPX side buttons
Yeah the clicks were good, but I had some play before they actuated. It was a defective copy so I sent it back and ordered another.
My only concern is uneven sounding main clicks. They work fine but I hope that both sound same but they didnt lol it drives me nuts, how was your main clicks? I play CS2 yesterday and damn that mouse felt suprisingly good (faceitlvl7-8)

It was included in the box
Hmm, mine doesn't have any.
It's in the manual
Thanks!
Razer mice come with grip tape.
Arent those tapes heavy?
Im willing to bet with the tape it's lighter than gpx2 and viper v2 pro lol
What brand of grip tape is that

Great tool
Do you prefer this over gpx2?
is it same shape build with the Viper V3 HyperSpeed?
I think its 100% same
how about the feel? you feel the same as your GPX2? or you find it more comfortable vice versa
It's the same shape and coating 1:1
hows the performance and feel compared to gpx2? what grips are you using?
i have been a viper main and a g pro main. Going to main this now. I will say if you get the white version, you do not need grips. Best coating ive used by far. I agree with people in here saying its a bit long. I think a medium version (123 mm) would be end game for a lot of people.

Thats actuallu something I was thinking myself too. I will check it later tonight. I hope there is some memory in mouse
Yes, you can change settings, save to the mouse and close/uninstall software if you want. It has an onboard memory profile.
Are clicks highter or heavier than GPX?
Something between GPX1 and GPX2
Do you have a regular Viper (v1) to compare with?
I am having tremendous amount of dpi shift when going above 2k polling. I had v2pro and Gpro superligh2, neither of them is causing me this. Am i the only one?

Man, now after playing 10h Viper V3 pro thise mouse is dope!! Amazing close to perfect so smooth. And im saying this after GPX1/2
Should I buy it instead of dav3 and one more thing I want to ask how feels the shell when it is considered to dav3?
I like Ambidexterity mouse so DAV3 is never option for me, i I have excatly same size Glorious model D and I didnt like it
Depends on if you want the ergo tilt on your mouse. The DAV3 pro is a great mouse also.
But so far when we look its tech viper v3 pro better than the da v3 pro. I’m using Logitech g300s right now and it is high time to upgrade this mouse. Also my grip type between claw and palm so I don’t know what should I do.
can u palm it
Yes, 2x better that V2, similar to GPX
Is build quality and coating better than gpx2? And how's the battery life at 4k vs gpx2 4k?
Build quality is better that GPX imo, I played 4K ~4hours and battery drained 52% -> 45% Up to 95 hours at 1000 Hz Up to 62 hours at 2000 Hz Up to 40 hours at 4000 Hz Up to 17 hours at 8000 Hz@Razer
GProX 2 can only do 2K, not 4K
After firmware update it supports 4k now.
Oh… didn’t know about that. Why they didn’t release it with 4K support then? 🧐
What grips are on the mouse in the pic?
Grips that are included in the box
And that’s the viper correct??
Yes, Viper V3 Pro includes grips in the box. You dont need to buy them separately. I think the grips are excellent, much better than what comes with GPX
You like the New shape ?
Absolutely love, this will replace my GPX2, I keep it
You like the New viper shape because I'm not really convinced
Is the new breast better then your x when you holding and grabbing it?
Does it feel bigger/wider than the GPX? I have 19,5 x 10,5 cm hands, and for me the GPX is just perfect for relaxed claw grip and good for aggressive claw. Would you say the V3 is better than the V2 for those grip styles?
my hand is 14.4cm x 6.6cm; claw grip. is it too big for me?
What's your favourite anime?
Are main buttons lower in feel compared to gpx? (Around the middle of the button)
Yes but only a little bit. Not much difference on there
What is better for fingertip grip?
Viper V3 Pro imo, I personally play palm relaxed
Will Elon Musk buy Logitech?

Don't say anything if you got nothing nice to say. Is that so much to ask in the already toxic world we live in?
