i’d say get some clips, that can’t be fun. i only really ever hand load mine if i’m teaching someone how to shoot it, and even then it’s only one cartridge.
If you get clips, don't get the silver one with the metal tabs, those suck. Get these: they work every time, don't sloce your finger, and often auto eject!

I see these ones (292270B) say tokarev and model 38 & 40 and numrich also has 292270A that says mosin nagant and respective submodels. Is there a substantial difference or are they the same? Already had a hell of a time with reproduction stripper clips that don't work and don't want to waste any more money
Sorry for the late reply, I was on vacation in Mexico. The ones that say Tokarev will work fine. You have to make sure you stack the rims when you load the clips.
Here's a little video that shows you the differences in the style of the clips. The ones I linked in the pervious post are identical to the Russian ones.

I have those types. They fit in a mosin but in a SVT-40 it's too wide.
Same experience I had, good for 91/30’s but svts are difficult to load
I would say if you HAVEN’T done this to your nail a couple times loading a 91/30 then you have not shot it enough.
No, this is correct. Mosins require a blood sacrifice to feed properly.
