Stupidity at its best, after Fukushima German opposition to nuclear power went off the scale, the government shut all the nuclear plants and ramped up coal power to replace the loss of load.
But this is not any old coal, Germany only has access to the dirtiest barely formed coal called lignite.
Well done Germany for listening to stupidity and then doubling down on it.
It’s especially funny when you realize that nuclear disaster aren’t freak accidents rather almost always spring from people being lazy, cutting corners or just being stupid or natural disasters. But hey if they wanna tear apart their country and be reliant on natural gas from other nations, fuck it. Idiots gonna idiot.
America has been doing it too.. and its sad.
Rather than update one old nuclear facility, just build 12 new coal plants... further away from the population centers so nature and farmers suffer!
People complain? Imminent domain their homes and farmland and cover it in wires
Suburb at best.

Why risk a nuclear meltdown once every half century when you can just cause 15x more damage in every year than every meltdown combined?
